- I like to exaggerate a lot in my videos and make jokes that are very obviously jokes that everyone takes seriously. But if there's one thing I will never joke about, it's that Lost Judgment was so good that it made me genuinely not want to play any of the other Yakuza games ever again. But I do anyway lol.
SPOILER SKIP - 25:26
It's like 6 frames out of 110,000 but there are some rendering bugs I couldn't fix sorry :(
And I also hope the music isn’t too loud and you can understand me throughout the video because I only realised after uploading that I probably should’ve boosted the commentary more

Yes, this has set the new record for my longest ever video. Yes, this entire video series was a ploy to talk about Lost Judgment for 30 minutes. Yes, I will forever hold a grudge against Skill Up (dunno why you'd ask that last bit though)
I genuinely don't know what shill up was smoking when he reviewed LJ. Probably the worst video he made.
Just wait until you see his Final Fantasy XVI review
@@SnowiestAngeman is it one of those "ff16 is not final fantasy" reviews lol
god, i hated that video. i still dont know what he was thinking when he wrote the review
Thank you!
ready to watch "The Other Best Yakuza Game" once Infinite Wealth comes out
or probably The Best Sidegame once Gaiden comes out
@@KaitoThwBruiseror THE game ever when yakuza 9999 cames out
Not real time combat. Can't compete with LJ
@@ag_abdulaziz7153Goofy ass mentality.
@@ag_abdulaziz7153 yes it can, naked Ichiban
Playing through Judgment rn, and its great, I cant believe they could make something even better.
I kid you not everything that feels good in the gameplay of Judgment, will look terrible when you play Lost Judgment lol
@@SnowiestAngeman I wonder if gaiden will have the same effect on LJ, but on the other hand LJ sounds as if its gonna be hard to beat.
@@SnowiestAngeman I had the same experience when replaying Judgment to beat it on Legend. Judgment is still amazing but Lost Judgment upgrades the gameplay in basically every way (except the chases, they feel worse somehow) so it's hard to want to go back to Judgment anymore.
@@Awesomepelt It's probably due to the fact Judgment chases are typically longer. LJ adds a lot to chases but all those have the unintended side effect of indirectly cutting up the length. It's like they didn't take into account the new stuff when making chases.
@@mat8791 Maybe, but my issue is that the dodge timing is off and most of the time I dodge yagami still hits the obstacle I was dodging because he moves too early, whereas in Judgement he cleared any obstacle I made the correct input on. It doesn’t cause actual gameplay issues it just makes the chase less satisfying. In The Groove makes up for all of that and more, though.
I’m glad I’m not the only one to use the reset camera trick. You make me wanna play the game again 😭
Yagami is slowly becoming more and more anime with every game. Have you seen what he can do during Crane's EX boost?
I bought PS4 for both Judgment and LJ back in 2021 :D
Still replayed them on PC year later, 60+ FPS makes combat even more smooth
A worthy purchase
When i looked up crispin freeman to find out he was 51!?! that just blew my mind
The best part about combat in this game is that they finally made the crane style usable and actually fun to use.
Snake is also super fun!
The soundtrack is also simply insane. Hands down my favourite of the entire franchise. The final boss theme in its complete version (the slower, more impactful one, followed by the second part with the more energetic, fast paced, segment of the song...) is simply incredible. It was a perfect fit for the whole theme of the game as well as the two characters' motives. Simply wonderful. My only gripe is that this final fight is easier than I would have hoped for, and thus was too short to properly appreciate, even in legend difficulty.
We all know it's because you can beat up bullies.
Just one thing about the Animal Kung Fu reference you mentioned, the five Animal form the Devs are indirectly referencing is Hung Kuen - the animals which comprise it being Dragon, Tiger, Snake, Crane & Leopard. I'll be the only guy to say this but sadly the Yakuza/LAD/Judgement versions bare little resemblance to actual Hung Kuen. Personally, I'd love to see a character use that style but it's a Southern form of Chinese martial art and is far more grounded than flashy. Having said that, I still had tremendous fun with Judgment's combat. Yet to play LJ.
Appreciate the well made montage at the end
I’ve seen a bit of the judgement series but as soon as I saw 1:09 I now want the game, literally had me audibly laughing for a whole minute straight. PLEASE tell me “☺️👍🏻” is a heat action
The realistic look is what makes it! When you see the places in real life it really hits. The soundtrack is top notch! I like how grounded the stories are compared to the over the top crime soap opera of Yakuza. I know we're probably only getting a trilogy but I hope RGG keeps up with spin-offs like this.
Can't wait for the Gaiden retrospective next week
I couldn't get past the putting a camera in a high school boy's bathroom and tik toc dancing. This was the first game since 4 that I skipped.
I've seen a video that just calls the untitled song "The Duel" and I feel like that's fitting enough.
Now, make an 8 minute video explaining on why Bowling is the best Yakuza minigame ever and why every Yakuza game should have it
Maybe I'm going crazy but I'm starting to think Lost Judgement is Snowiest's favorite RGG game
25:34 I think the name of the song is Duel of Love nah my bad its the Duel
It's obviously the best game because Ranpo 🐕
YEAH TITANFALL 2! Can't wait to get murdered by hackers again.
Why do you have a picture of me in the thumbnail!?!?!?!?!?! Wtf????? That is literally me in the thumbnail!!!!!!!!
I JUST bought Judgiment so i gotta try and play that..but since i got the physical copy of Judgiment i have time to complete it
the combat in this game was so good i creamed every time i had to fight
Judgement is still my favorite.
This is like the only Yakuza game (That isnt dead souls) on the market right now i dont have a copy of.
I even have Lost Paradise. I should probably get around to lost judgment.
I loved it when yagami's judgment was lost
Sawa sensei.....
Lost Judgment is everything we love about the Yakuza games, just without Kiryu.
And Majima
the best anti-bullying PSA a money can buy
The real anti-bullying PSA was at the beginning when kaito slapped that kid and grinned at him on the ground
It's 2in1 it
1. Let's you get your deepest grudges against bullies out finally after 10 years holy shit.
2. Is also an anti bully PSA
Lost Judgment was a chef's kiss. Such a fantastic game to play through. I hope RGG will make another new game with either on par or better free flow combat. The ost is like crack, I need a fix of it so often. Chihiro Aoki crafted so many excellent tracks in this game with Dig in Your Heels and Unwavering Belief being personal favourites.
Chihiro Aoki music is like crack I won’t lie
It's onyl weakness was in the story.
@@Draffut2003yeah, I enjoyed the story, but there are things that can be improved, such as Yagami not making Sawa Sensei as the only example of consequences and stuff
@@jrirch2089 the UI was a far more serious issue than the story. Locking the controls to the screen at all times borderline ruins the game. There’s no first person mode without investigation HUD either, so in effect they basically removed first person view. They also didn’t get rid of the popup Tips, and there’s more messy icons and items around the world than ever. It all badly hurts the experience and it breaks my heart
@@LAK_770 in my experience it doesn’t really matter to me, never had an issue with it
Time for the annual lost judgment beat off. Will funny Australian man make lost judgment lose its judgment by beating it off? Let's find out!
I stand by the fact that Yagami has THE BEST fighting style in the entire Yakuza series, and it shines in Lost Judgement. This game genuinely has some of the best combat I've ever had the pleasure of engaging in.
The skateboard might be one of the best additions too. Playing Gaiden now, I wish Kiryu would just learn how to skateboard already.
If anything I expected kiryu to use the agent boots to jet around like how Yagami uses the skateboard... but then again that wouldn't be so covert for a secret agent, would it? Lol
@@RubyRedPhoenix413 doesn't he fly around already
Which do you recommend? Gaiden or Lost Judgement? I dunno which to play first
@@AzManaplost judgement
@@AzManapDefinitely Lost Judgment as it’s more of a whole experience.
Gaiden is more of a shorter experience, made to explain what Kiryu was doing during or near the events of the first Like a Dragon game, leading up to some explanation for his involvement in Infinite Wealth.
If you haven’t already though, I recommend the first Judgement game if anything. It’s the same engine, combat still feels great, really not that much older than Lost Judgement and it gets you more familiar with the characters and story as well.
One thing to point out is the way Yagami controls, he's much, much more nimble now when you walk and run around the open world. In comparison Kiryu feels like controlling a fucking tank in Y6 and same for Yagami in the original Judgement
You know what, the same can be said about controlling Dante in DmC (so flexible) vs classic Dante (so stiff). The difference really is night and day.
@@gotinogadenI’ve never felt Dante to be stiff in dmc3 onward
as a fellow australian, i can confirm what he said about pepsi max in australia being better than normal pepsi is the complete and utter truth. Normal pepsi is dogshit in comparison

This game especially really shows RGG’s growth with Dragon Engine combat, I had huge issues with the way Y6 and K2 played and it makes me happy to say this game is on par with (and probably even better than) Y0’s combat, it makes me really excited to see what they’ll do to refine Kiryu’s DE moveset in Gaiden
Kiryu might be able to do juggle combos so looking forward to that
Lost Judgment has the perfect combination of story, gameplay, characters, themes, and yakuza tomfoolery. I can't wait for IW and Gaiden, but I know that LJ has definitely set a new standard in RGG history. It, in fact, IS the best Yakuza game
No? IW is. Game’s gone gold and copies are floating around. Get yaself a copy and see how good it is
@@xbon1 Having finished IW, nah it's good but this was better
@@xbon1 Nah.
BASED, always glad to see Lost Judgment getting the love and respect it deserves
Also 11:32 fun fact about mortal reversals for those who don't know, at least if my memory from playing the demo of Gaiden at PAX West is correct mortal reversals are actually coming back in LAD Gaiden which is pretty cool.
Yeah it's coming back, i saw kiryu doing an axe kick as his agent style mortal reversal in one of his style demo videos or whatever you call them. Cool stuff
Ok give update now

if my 7 favoritism didn't exist i would probably put lj in my second or first favorite game of all time in a heartbeat
Literally my favorite game of all time. So freakin good. Best combat and gameplay, best story (because of the way its relatability cuts deep for me), best side content, best OST, best everything!
Peak gaming. Easily my favorite game from this studio and has become an all time favorite as more time passes.
I actually like the story more in this game than the previous because I found the way the mystery was framed to be more interesting. You're essentially working a mystery backwards where you know exactly who is involved but you're figuring out the motive and how they did it. That and while many dock points for the story not being personal to Yagami, I actually prefer it because it feels like he's a legendary detective that just stumbled his way into something bigger than himself.
It isn't my favorite story in the series but I think it at least stands next to the original and is one of the better ones in the franchise.
That’s actually a very good point about the story. I still really enjoyed it too though but I mean the game could’ve had a story about two cavemen going unga bunga for 30 hours but so long as the gameplay was the still the same I still would’ve popped off about it haha
@@SnowiestAngeman true lmao. Really wonder how they can top the brawler combat from here. Based retrospective btw.
Lost Judgement is worth every penny spent. Smooth gameplay and so much content to experience in the game
All my homies HATE Skill Up
24:55 I don't think that's really fair to say. While I agree that Kuwana is someone who does feel guilty for what he did and wants bullying to be acknowledged, a "nice guy" wouldn't essentially hold old bullies he used to teach class for under his thumb to do his bidding as a form of blackmail in order for his goal to succeed. I know "Sawa-sensei" is a meme but considering what Kuwana did essentially goes against what he believes himself in letting an innocent die and just keeps going is MORE than enough of a justifiable reason for Yagami to be on his ass regarding his actions. It's more than "fuck you that's illegal".
Yeah legit Kuwana strings along countless otherwise innocent people into his schemes and blackmails his former students into doing all the dirty work for him and I think alot of people tend to ignore that the whole reason any of this happened in the first place was him ignoring that one of his students was being bullied
While there's obviously some fault to be placed on the school and justice system it's pretty blatant that Kuwana was a direct factor in what happened and he throws that guilt onto pretty much anyone and everything but himself while dragging otherwise innocent people down with him and getting people like Sawa killed in the crossfire
I agree that this is overall the most solid, complete, and aesthetically brilliant RGG game.....so this makes it even more terrible that you can't get rid of the control HUD. In a game where getting immersed in a hyper-realistic virtual tourism environment is 50% of the draw, ruining the visuals with UI is borderline unforgivable. Then there's the "Tips" that pop up after most fights, the items and icons cluttering the screen, and the lack of a HUD-free first-person view. Just a general lack of restraint with the UI that really hurts the aesthetic experience. It's a big deal precisely BECAUSE the game is so perfect in every other way.
I personally don't dislike this video's title but I think " the best RGG game ever " would have been a better title.
And while I do enjoy Lost Judgement and see how it's easily better than Judgement in content and features wise but personally I still can't bring myself to think it's better than Yakuza 0. It's still the best RGG game for me in story, content, gameplay, minigames and overall everything wise. The only thing that I feel like it lacks is a proper English voice over which should've a thing in the beginning of the series instead of new soft reboot. Well that's at least what my opinion is.
Anyways amazing video as always and I was wondering if you you could cover other games like this instead of just RGG games in general ( for example, Resident Evil, Final fantasy, Tekken, Street fighter, Devil May Cry, Death Stranding or any other games you personally like in general ) I would love to see if you could cover other genre of games if you would like to. Anyways looking forward to your next video
Digital Devil Saga music? I hope you get 50 billion subs over night. Cheers 🍻
Very based DDS enjoyer
@@SnowiestAngeman I wish ATLUS made games with set pieces like that again so bad dude
There's a particular street in the game that has a 100% spawn rate on both ends of the street. So if you want to grind SP relatively fast, you can just run to one side of the street and when you win the fight, the next group like 50ft away will spawn. So just run back and forth
Ah yes.. The Ijin Street experience
He really sucked lost judgement off for an entire video just like he promised
But what about Sawa-sensei? Did she get to play Lost Judgement for PS4, XB1, or PC???
The combat in this game is so sexy, I love it so much
man you've really kicked up your production and editing, keep up the great vids
I’m glad you think so :)
Something cool about the Kaito File DLC that you didn’t mention was that the main female lead in it was actually pretty cool and that’s a first for an RGG game 💀
Yeah she's basically Kaito's Sawamura Yumi (with Jun being his Haruka) but unlike Yumi, who was a non character tbh, Makiko is a badass woman who can and will kick and punch her way through stuff while still being an incredibly beautiful and kind hearted woman.
Absolutely love Lost Judgment. My only significant complaint on gameplay would be cycling through fighting styles with a single button rather than have them assigned to a direction on the dpad like 0 and K1. The story also lulls a little bit in the middle. There are so many chapters in a row where nothing new is revealed to the player and its encounter after encounter of no one knows what the fuck is going on, as opposed to JE where info is steadily given to the player over the course of the entire game. However, the last two chapters are maybe the best thing RGG has ever written.
So glad they're going to continue the free flow combat in the judgement series. I like turn based combat, but it isnt what got me into the Yakuza franchise
Franchise name isnt "yakuza", now in no place in the world, thanks god
So many languages in the world, yet he decided to speak FAX? Would've been GOTY material if it were more popular, which it should be.
Favorite game by far. Infinite Wealth could contest that spot though judging by how good it looks.
I am unsure if it’s joke when it comes to what snow is saying about not wanting Yagami an innocent bystander to get hurt when he has escaped several times when Yagami helped him and continuously get him hurt. Even with going in on sugiura and Tsukumo with breaking one of Tsukumo’s fingers. And I would guess basically knocking out Sugiura. While I can understand where Kuwana came from with what happened about exposing a failed justice system the radical change by leaving body in his wake brings about the previous game idea of if you kill “bad people” in your pursuit attempt saving people is it justified. And it still wasn’t as in the end while Kuwana escaped he still let it out on where the rest of his 5 victims were allowing for there to be a trail to find him. Proving that was indeed wrong and knows that now.
The gameplay itself is the best I have seen in the dragon engine. With it feeling more fluid to switch styles instead of playing tiger for most of the game.
true this is the best RGG game, followed by Y0, Y7, Judgement, and Y2.
Moral of the story. Only play the Judgment games.
The most peak moment has to be when Jimmy Judgement said "I'm sorry, Kaito Files. Looks like I've Lost Judgement once more"
Just bought this game since october 4 (my birthday) But after playing it, it was impressive compared to 0.
Happy birthday (for a few days ago lol)
Yeah Thanks!@@SnowiestAngeman
Combat is god-tier. However, replaying LJ again after finishing LaD makes me feel like Yagami isn't that connected to the community of Ijincho as much as he was in Kamurocho during Judgment.
PS: Skateboarding around town, while barebones in terms of controls, has this satisfying sense of movement I can't seem to find anywhere else.
Definitely one of my favorite games of all time. One of the very few games I bought during release week
am i crazy or is this the first time you've actually used the music from the game in the video? just further proves how good the ost is
Snowiest also using that high attention to detail and choosing the perfect songs to match the video, so obviously based Lost Judgment needed based Lost Judgment music haha
@@Hezzadude12true, also the gameplay at the end of the video was also lost judgment instead of a different game
LOST JUDGMENT IS GOATED
Actually just finished Kaito Files tight before this video, Lost Judgment has to be my favorite RGG game so far, especially the ending
While Kuwana is definitely a very interesting antagonist, I’d say that Yagami’s issue with him doesn’t just boil down to the fact that Sawa got caught in the crossfire, but because Kuwana refuses to acknowledge that it was his fault and that his crusade has and will continue to put innocent people in danger. It takes until the very end of the game for Kuwana to finally admit that he is the reason Sawa is dead and he cannot simply write her life off as collateral damage. The reason Yagami constantly brings her up is that she is a very, VERY personal example of what kind of harm his vigilantism will cause if he keeps it up. I see it less as Sawa’s death being the reason he should stop in and of itself, and more that she’s a tangible example of why he needs to stop. It’s a lot easier to reach people with tangible examples rather than hypotheticals, such as someone addicted to drugs getting advice from a former (or even current) addict rather than someone who just has medical knowledge of their effects.
10:52 So here's the thing about Tiger Drop and Dragon Crushing Fist attacks. A dragon drops a tiger. Right? And a tiger crushes a dragon. It's not a dragon or tiger using each other's attacks. Not ironic.
Judgement 3 please transform boxing into kickboxing style it would be perfect for yagami
I still prefer Judgment's story. Too much "Sawa-sensei" in the second half of LJ.
You know it's great they didn't just write out previous characters but with how Shino was treated I kinda wish they didn't even include him. My guy got character assassinated so hard, turned from a bit of a shy and nervous guy who was still damn good at what he did, had a great, strong heart and conquered his nerves when the time called for it into the biggest wank on the cast that it feels like character assassination. All the other returners and new characters are great but I was really dissapointed with how dirty they did him, especially because I really liked him in Judgment.
Finally, I'm not the only one who got butt hurt by the awful Skill Up review. 😂
Judgment and Lost Judgment helped me through some of the roughest times of my life; I adore the characters, the vibe, and the fighting; I adore the heartfelt drama and the feels of Kaito files. Thank you for this video, sir! I must revisit these sometime soon...thank you!
Also Lost judgement is the only yakuza game I've actually completed since it added farmable cheat items for mahjong. Did it take over 2 hours of xp grinding? Yes. Was it worth it? Yes
Babe wakeup new snowiest angeman on peak dropped
I'd love to see a kingdom hearts video
That montage at the end got me listening to Hasty Spirit/Blood-Drunk Master’s Theme on repeat, and then I got to the part in Gaiden where they reuse that theme and I ascended into the heavens
Lost Judgement is easily one of the best games in the franchise and has some of the most fun combat. It just feels so damn good to play, and all the side activities and arcade games makes it addicting.
Oh my god I swear this is one of the most based videos in existence. EVERY praise you give to both Judgement and Lost Judgement I've been saying for SO LONG but I've had to keep it all to myself since none of the people I know have played either💀
Seriously tho AMAZING work on this video it's actually SO well made and just a joy to watch. Keep it up man! You've earned a rest after this lmaoo
I hope there's a 3rd Judgment game.
Yagami is a cool character, I loved his fighting styles, the new cast of characters were cool and interesting too.
I still want to play Like a Dragon Gaiden at some point but I just feel burned out from Kiryu's story. Too much of the same across many games.
So I'm just waiting for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth to come out.
Gaiden has the 4 hour demo of iw. Buy itjust for that. Also tons of improvements overall
God.. i fucking HATED the Skill Up video. Pretty sure he only played 10 hours and then wrote it off
Suprised to see you didn't spend 30min specifically talking about unwavering belief but cool vid nonetheless
Finally, someone really called out [Redacted] for his own subjective view on the subject matter of this game. Massive respect to the guy that played Ghost of Tsushima with Greg Chun.
I did like the narrative of Judgement over Lost Judgment personally, but it was still a great sequel and superior in every other way
I know it might be too early to say this but, might wanna change the title
Kyoko Amasawa alone make this game already worth it l👍👍
Lost judgment makes me wish for a like a dragon high school game. Maybe with kiryu and all the characters as actors like they did with ishin. But aged down.
The game itself is great but the story is such a step down from the first game. My only complaint about the game tbh. Oh and the dumb stealth.
that ending was the best, you should totally turn it into its own short video (like 30 seconds or something, an excerpt)
2:12 auto sprint in battle is a toggle in the settings, I kinda prefer it on, personally
I genuinely did not know about that lol
Yeah, its kind of a shame how lost judgement's combat is so polished, deep, and interlinking, with such smooth as movement that it kinda ruins Judgement for me.
didn't know that they could just put in tekken 7 gameplay on an rgg game
I just finished Lost Judgement and the 25:10 "Fuck you its illegal, Sawa-sensei, Dragon Crushing Fist" is 100% accurate to the real ending
It would be the best yakuza game if kurohyou didnt exist
combat and mini game in lost Judgement is the best, maybe comparable to Yakuza 0
If it is so good why they don't make lost judgement 2??? 😮
Thank you for singing the praises of LOST PEAKMENT 💯💯💯💯
Most accurate review of this game by an Australian I’ve ever seen
1:30 This made LJ go up several tiers on my backlog. All of them.
I am aware im late but fun fact: last year the first thing they thought in phylosophy was morality. And i set up (poorly) a debate between yagami and kuwana. Unfortunately i didnt have much time so it fell through
