Thanks for making the time to produce this video. We're going to pick up ours (same model) today and, wanting to ensure we're making the right purchase, I'm going down the rabbit hole watching reviews. We live on property similar to yours and, once you ran over the 4" logs, I knew we'd made the right decision since we'll be using ours for woods, as well. Have a great weekend, and thanks again!

It's a Zero turn/wood splitter deluxe version. Just gotta wheel over logs. I'm thinking about one of these out of all seriousness. at least I have an actual lawn and not forest and the little cub takes a full day to mow 4 acres.

I recently bought a Maverick 60". Replaced a 48" john deer tractor style. I also worked on a golf course growing up and got spoiled on a diesel kubota zero turn and the big 11 foot batwing toro mower. I enjoyed mowing with those machines and absolutely hated mowing 2+ acres with the 48" tractor style. I'm now hoping for rain so my grass will grow so I can mow it again. Took me over 2 hours to mow with the old machine, with the bad boy I'm down to a little over an hour. I won't be expanding my yard though I already have plenty to mow. On the first mow I accomplished hooking the old rickety cloths line with the folded down ROPS. Didn't notice I hooked it until the cable snapped.

have the bad Boy Maverick 54" 726 Kawasaki cuts really good. Very impressed with the even cut and stripping. I am a bigger guy and the adjustable handles are a must. Also like the ease of controls and available Maintenace items. We mow 2 to 2.5 acres

Perhaps hanging some wasp traps a couple of days before mowing might be a safety tip. You never know what's in those logs, bushes, or hole in the ground. Love the mower!

I just bought that same mower today and picking it up tomorrow. I can’t wait to start cutting grass Lol, I’ve been through so many others that just don’t last such as two different John Deere’s zero turns, hopefully this Bad Boy will do the job and be the last mower I have to buy, thanks for your review it was pretty impressive.

I know that you're all surprised to see my two cents worth.
We replaced our two lawn tractors twenty years ago. I told the guy at the small engine and outdoor shop that I wanted the last mower that I was going to buy.
The final decision was based on liquid or air cooling.
The model with liquid cooling has a hydraulic deck lift.
    It was an easy decision.
It took an eight man hour job for the approximately three acres we mow to two hours.

A couple of springs or so ago, John Deere's top model featured rear tires that weren't pneumatic, and reminded me of something you might see on the moon rover. This spring I saw a video for these as replacement equipment. Expensive. I might be able to justify them the same way, a lifetime purchase, and never get a flat again.

Hey JJ, your like a kid with a new toy at Xmas! After having a zero turn mower you will never go back. Word of caution if you keep running over those heavy limbs you're going to do some damage. Dude you need a ROPS ! Might want to check out Work tunes ear protection. Great for protection and AM FM BLUE TOOTH
    entertainment.
Nothing like a ZERO TURN MOWER to make a grown man smile 😊
I love my Big Dog STOUT has almost 300 hours and it's a BEAST!
I'm thinking about that ham radio course also. Looking forward to your opinion and video on their course.
FUN MOWING! Bet you never thought you would say those words.
Need to borrow my Bush hog your welcome to use it, and knock everything down in your woods. Your Branson would be better suited to run over all that hidden limbs and logs on the ground. I'm close to Columbus and it just sitting here, your more than welcome to borrow it. I'm guessing you live close to Martinsville. Be safe and prosperous.

Witness, my biggest learning curve was learning to keep the inside rear wheel turning during making the tight turn.
Mowing acres per hour instead of the other way around. Awesome.

Yeah I have a brush hog as well. But the tractor really isn’t as stable on the hills as the zero turn believe it or not.

@@RealitySurvival Sounds like you have everything handled. I've been using a zero turn for about 8 years now and mow about 3 acres in two hours mostly mild rolling terrain with numerous trees and obstacles. Our little piece of heaven. Busy gardening and working on our backup solar system. Purchasing hard assets for the coming crunch. Lead and brass extra maintenance items for all the equipment. SHTF senario in our near future, hyper inflation, economic collapse, food shortages, drought and famines.
Making the most of my time every day. EMP strike likely within 2 years.
      Peace brother JJ

I'm cutting probably 3 acres of "grass". OK mostly weeds and scrub. My first riding mower was a Craftsman. Not realizing it had a splash oiling system (no oil pump) I eventually blew the engine going up and down grades similar to yours. The splash system wasn't getting enough oil to the engine. Then I bought a Cub Cadet with a 54 inch deck. This one at least has an oil pump, so no grade concerns now. I really wanted a zero turn but I didn't want to spend double the money so riding mower it was. The deck is stamped metal so it's taking a beating and I've replaced all three deck pully spindles already from wear and tear and hitting things I shouldn't be hitting but it's hanging in there. What really bugs the hell out of me is replacing the deck belt. That thing is the most ridiculous combination of twists and turns that I HATE replacing it when it breaks which is probably once every other season. Be careful with those logs. If you hit one hard enough there's a good possibility you may damage a deck spindle (ask me how I know). Looking back, I should have spent the extra money on one of these. They are much faster, and stronger and that deck looks solid. I just may have to go out and get one now. I was just at Rural King today. Wish I would have watched this earlier. I could have checked these out! Semi-pro tip, get some bees wax and coat your deck belt with it...a lot. The bees wax will keep the belt from wearing out as fast. By the way, what size deck it that beast?

    • @RealitySurvival
      @RealitySurvival  3 года назад +2

Yeah for sure. I don’t try to run over logs. Lol. Just didn’t see them and was too late by the time I got in them. ;). You won’t regret the purchase !

Certainly a very capable zero turn mower with the knobby tires on it. I hope the blades are made with the same heavy duty materials as the rest of the machine for the amount of abuse you are giving it.
