    We’re finally back with more Malaysian favourite dishes, which are MY FAVOURITE dishes, and this week, we’re going to do a Kam Heong Squid recipe which is a signature Malaysian stir-fry style that’s packed with flavours - spicy, savoury, a little sweet, and full of umami that comes from dried shrimps that contributes to the unique taste.
    Kam Heong is a direct translation from the Cantonese dialect which means Golden Fragrance or Golden Aromatic. So you’re not going to just love the taste, but the smell 🤯 Hope you give this a try and let me know what you think in the comment section. Till next week!

    - Curry Leaves
    - Fermented Bean Paste
    - Curry Powder

    Thank you Chef Sherson. I can’t find dried shrimp and fermented bean paste in my village in Portugal. I plan to skip the dried shrimp. Can I substitute fermented bean paste with miso?

      you're most welcome!! You can sub the bean paste with miso, however for this dish the dried shrimp plays quite an important role in the flavor profile of this dish. If you cant find dried shrimp maybe look for something that is available that you can sub it with to maintain the seafood umami that's crucial in this dish. Hope this helps, and happy cooking :)
