The last time I cleaned squid, the ink sack broke....a few days later, my daughter was over and asked what were the black spots on the ceiling from. I had no idea that it had squirted so high! I left it there, so whenever someone comes over and notices, I have a story to tell.

Maangchi before I started watching your videos, I couldn't eat anything spicier than black pepper. But I was watching you eat gimchi and use gochugaru and gochujang and the food looked so good! I started training myself to eat spicy food because if I couldn't eat spicy food, I'd miss out on a lot of things, including Korean, Thai, Indian, all sorts of things. I've watched your videos so much, I've actually learned a lot of concepts in Korean cooking. Rice is the main dish, and then you have loads of side dishes to go with it. The main korean flavourings are garlic, chilli flakes, sesame oil and sesame seeds. Gimchi should be served with basically every meal. There's so much more I can't even think of right now, but thanks so much for teaching me a lot about Korean food and culture!

PS, just moved to a new town this month and had to get my hair cut. Found a little Korean hair salon and guess what?? My hair dresser was shocked to hear that I know how to make mandoo, kimchi and all these recipes and when he heard I watch you, he said "oh Maangchi!! Yes, of course. So delicious!". I love watching ur videos...because its easy to follow...very simple ingredients; its not hard to find especially now that there are Korean stores in some places. Lucky for me theres a Korean store near our place walking distance. Just a short story Madam, when my younger brother celebrate his birthday months ago...Im surprise to see the food on his table the theme if I may called it..Korean food like Kimchi...Samgeup Wrong spell I know 😂..soju and some more. And probably the reason why I love the dishes that u cook in ur Vlog because, my Grand father when he still alive...he too loves to cook; and a fan of side dishes too...and it seems like its not complete without a bottle of beer to start with. Hes a pure chinese from Amuy China..thats why Im expose with that kind of cooking. Like Mushroom, egg roll, black fungus, noodles, the MISWA Egg noodles that until now...every occation like anniversary and especially birthday..Miswa is always present on our table..the whole family dine together exactly 8 am. Its our family secret recipe that handed over from my great grand mother. It has peanut, dried squid, and lot more add to that miswa.😃 Some of my grand father dish always have mushrooms...Chinese cabbage..bukchoy...Thats why I APPRECIATE UR COOKING..ALL OF UR DELICIOUS MEALS.THANKS FOR SHARING IT WITH US...OR SHOULD I SAY THE ENTIRE WORLD. And If I may say...I dont know u personally but base on what I see in ur personality, ur aura, plus ur asian too, u look like a bubbly person, easy to hangout with, choosy when it comes to friend...though friendly and very accommodating person. Plus u look very presentable... u look younger than ur age...U look like a wine that age gracefully. I also watch ur fellow korean vlog.Hamzy...all she do there is cooking korean dish and eat it even its still hot...with her cute poodle Jajang. You're great maam' Yesterday my mother asked me to cook squid, I do not know how to cook it. I also forgot the recipe she said. So I saw your video and made it special .. It was not advisable to add sugar in masala cooking. So I did not. Still enjoying it better than I thought .. I really liked your video. I will make sure I watch your other videos too ..
This reminds me of the time my Korean son insisted on going out to eat. We went across the river to the South side of Seoul and eventually came to a place that serves spicy octopus. He insisted. I refused. He was stubborn and so we went in and I watched him eat the whole platter. (This was in August.) By the time he finished he was scarlet red faced and totally soaked in sweat. I reminded him ever since. Dad knows best!

And that's how I found you, years ago, by searching for squid recipes. Many moments of health and happiness from here to the next 10 years! P.S..... The Champagne.... Maangchi before I started watching your videos, I couldn't eat anything spicier than black pepper. But I was watching you eat gimchi and use gochugaru and gochujang and the food looked so good! I started training myself to eat spicy food because if I couldn't eat spicy food, I'd miss out on a lot of things, including Korean, Thai, Indian, all sorts of things.
I've watched your videos so much, I've actually learned a lot of concepts in Korean cooking. Rice is the main dish, and then you have loads of side dishes to go with it. The main korean flavourings are garlic, chilli flakes, sesame oil and sesame seeds. Gimchi should be served with basically every meal. There's so much more I can't even think of right now, but thanks so much for teaching me a lot about Korean food and culture!

PS, just moved to a new town this month and had to get my hair cut. Found a little Korean hair salon and guess what?? My hair dresser was shocked to hear that I know how to make mandoo, kimchi and all these recipes and when he heard I watch you, he said "oh Maangchi!! Yes, of course. So delicious!". I love watching ur videos...because its easy to follow...very simple ingredients; its not hard to find especially now that there are Korean stores in some places. Lucky for me theres a Korean store near our place walking distance.
Just a short story Madam, when my younger brother celebrate his birthday months ago...Im surprise to see the food on his table the theme if I may called it..Korean food like Kimchi...Samgeup Wrong spell I know 😂..soju and some more.
And probably the reason why I love the dishes that u cook in ur Vlog because, my Grand father when he still alive...he too loves to cook; and a fan of side dishes too...and it seems like its not complete without a bottle of beer to start with. Hes a pure chinese from Amuy China..thats why Im expose with that kind of cooking. Like Mushroom, egg roll, black fungus, noodles, the MISWA Egg noodles that until now...every occation like anniversary and especially birthday..Miswa is always present on our table..the whole family dine together exactly 8 am.
Its our family secret recipe that handed over from my great grand mother. It has peanut, dried squid, and lot more add to that miswa.😃
Some of my grand father dish always have mushrooms...Chinese cabbage..bukchoy...Thats why I APPRECIATE UR COOKING..ALL OF UR DELICIOUS MEALS.THANKS FOR SHARING IT WITH US...OR SHOULD I SAY THE ENTIRE WORLD.
And If I may say...I dont know u personally but base on what I see in ur personality, ur aura, plus ur asian too, u look like a bubbly person, easy to hangout with, choosy when it comes to friend...though friendly and very accommodating person. Plus u look very presentable... u look younger than ur age...U look like a wine that age gracefully. I also watch ur fellow korean vlog.Hamzy...all she do there is cooking korean dish and eat it even its still hot...with her cute poodle Jajang. Yesterday my mother asked me to cook squid, I do not know how to cook it. I also forgot the recipe she said. So I saw your video and made it special .. It was not advisable to add sugar in masala cooking. So I did not. Still enjoying it better than I thought .. I really liked your video. I will make sure I watch your other videos too ..

This reminds me of the time my Korean son insisted on going out to eat. We went across the river to the South side of Seoul and eventually came to a place that serves spicy octopus. He insisted. I refused. He was stubborn and so we went in and I watched him eat the whole platter. (This was in August.) By the time he finished he was scarlet red faced and totally soaked in sweat. I reminded him ever since. Dad knows best!
