Little dogs have such amazing, indomitable spirits. The first time I hiked the Appalachian Trail in 1979, one of the hikers with whom I crossed paths found a tiny little mangy dog on a roadside. He nursed her back to health and named her Wayah, for a nearby mountain. She made it with him all the way to Mt. Katahdin. Rocko reminds me of Wayah. May she always hike her own hike, and be loved. Thank you for sharing her, and your adventures with all of us!
And Jack Russels are well known for having a big heart

@@glennbeadshaw727 No idea. The hike was over, and I lost track of most of the people. But she was a doughty little creature. I’m sure she lived a long and happy life. She was certainly loved.
My two favorite additions you've made to your videos are Rocko and the wood-burning stove.
That leap Rocko made from rock to rock over the stream was epic. You could see her mind working as she was contemplating the execution.
Shes a smart girl! So entertaining to watch her find a way thru the wilderness!

Simple suggestion. Next time you're in town go to the nearest toy store and buy some cheapo glow in the dark stickers. Then put a few on your bear spray or whatever else you think you'd need to find in the dark.

Completely different vibe in Alaska. That snow looked a little wet. Always a good and safe feeling when you can light up the fireplace when you get back. Rocko is always up for something new, very cute.
Welcome back to the USA! Thanks for enduring the cold winds on top of Noyes Mountain to get those gorgeous views of the endless mountains. The Nabesna mining site looks like a really interesting place to explore. Gold rush history and the relics associated with it are fascinating.

Foresty I thought I’d pop in to tell you about a life saver for pup’s paws in the snow! If you’re not aware of Musher’s Secret you should definitely look into getting some for Rocko! It’s a thin wax-like substance that keeps Ice from forming between their pads and also protects them a good bit! I just love her!❤️🔥🐾
Definitely! I use Mushers for my dog makes a world of difference!

Was not expecting a F-22 Raptor stealth fighter cameo. This episode cost $300 million to produce.
They are based up there as interceptors I think. Lots of videos out there of them “escorting” Russian bombers that come by for a peek.

I agree ..but tbf those buildings have probably provided a good shelter for many hikers over the years ,so I guess that's one possitive

Welcome to Alaska!! Happy to have you visit, been to Nabesna a couple times, need to go back. The Skookum Volcano trail is a great one, but I know you like the ones that are less traveled. Although there’s not that many people on that entire road this time of year. Funny what food other people think of when they’re visiting somewhere, i live here and I have never had one of those pies. I don’t even recall seeing them before Lol
This was a good video! I love the Rocko data! Seeing the mines is both interesting and disturbing. The view from the top of the mountain is beyond beautiful.

I'm not sure if your still up there. But if you are check out Peterville Road between Anchorage and Fairbanks. It starts off as a paved two lane road, then it goes to a gravel road, then a dirt road, then basically a bunch of divergent paths. Some locals told me there is s back way into Denali National Park. I didn't find it, but there was some amazing scenery. I'm sure you could get to some mountains off of it as well.

I had a partner like Rocco for my hikes, but a wolf got him during a hike. He ventured off a little too far. Rocco is having a good life, keep her safe out there and always enjoy your time with her.

You've outdone yourself on this one! It's got everything I like to watch...Adventure, derelict buildings, & van life, with a dash of humor. Your channel is my number one fav. I agree with your love for the Fenix 7. However, beware, my menu button got stuck within three days of purchase. Secondly, I know you are private, but it's nice that you mention family in this one. If your dad is using a Garmin, we can assume he's in good health! :) keep doing what you are doing!

Thats very cool. I was in that part of Alaska in Early June. We drove down the Nabesna road to the first campground. We stayed for a few days. We then road our bikes to the third creek crossing before we turned around. Way too deep for our bikes. Met some locals and had some beers. You're lucky now you don't have to deal with the mosquitoes. Love the videos. Keep them coming.

Foresty. If you can find some anchorage brewing if you're still up there. Their IPAs are some of my favorite beers i've ever tasted.
U can get a gps collar for ur dog that will tell u their distance travelled aswell as if she wonders off you can signal the collar to trigger and make her come back
Rocco is such a great companion for your amazing hikes and her ability to keep up , spectacular views from the top of the mountains and yes indeed looked very cold, cool to see the fighter fly over and the old mine ruins so interesting. thank's always a pleasure to watch.... Ontario

I cant believe you have that Boston Cream pie. I am from New Jersey and have never seen that before in my life but was out in Maryland for some schooling and saw that randomly in a grocery store and tried it out. In the week I was there I ate like 10 of those things.

If people ever wonder how federal environmental regulations get started that mine is an example of poor or no regulations. Make tens or hundreds of millions of dollars, leave contaminated soil and leave the place a complete shit show.
