That's three bears in the last two episodes! Thanks for this beautiful footage of everything. My six year old watched this with me and she pretended to be Rocko.
I'm at a lost as to why you do not have millions of subscribers as without a producer, cameraman, sound man and 'gofer' you showcase the wilderness, wildlife, lakes and mountains in such magnificent grandeur. This was a real feat of determination and we were the beneficiaries. 🌟
There aren't as many people who watch outdoor content as other niches, growing in this niche too is a struggle. There are a few vanlife channels that are bigger than foresty but almost all of them are under 1 million subs.
@@rustysmith540 And as he said in one of his recent videos, he gets REALLY high numbers of views consistently on his videos and has been doing this for quite a while. Which is fantastic! 🎉
@@IdRatherBeHiking I agree with you, but I think that Foresty's channel is unique because he crosses over into multiple genres such as vanlife, camping, hiking, mountaineering, cooking and adventure travel. No other channel that I am aware of does this. It puts him in a category by himself, and is one of the reasons, I think, that he DOES consistently get so many views on any given video. His videos appeal to a wide range of viewers with a multitude of interests. Throw in his charismatic personality and dry wit, and it is a winning combination!
If you are still curious, the strange sound that you heard in the forest is what used to be called a "Blue Grouse". These days that species is split into two, the Sooty Grouse (more coastal) and the Dusky Grouse (interior west). They look and sound nearly identical. Where you were there is sort of a hybrid zone for the two species. That far north their ranges meet. This is fairly close to the coast so it's probably a Sooty.
My first thought too. Whenever I first encountered a Grouse drum I was on a canoe trip in Maine and didn't realize it was a ruffed grouse. Unfamiliar with the sound I assumed it was some kind of human encroachment, maybe an echo from a wind turbine or something and I was annoyed. Later when I searched for info on the sound I realized it was a grouse and now I love hearing it whenever I'm out and about in the north woods, especially in spring -- they really pound it this time of year.
Agreed! That mountaintop drone view with Forest standing there on the barren peak with a bright sunny sky... Breathtaking! Keep up the awesome work my friend
Thank you for taking us to the places where I could not go on my own. The veiws from the summits are stunning. I can't imagine how beautiful they must be in person.
Thanks a ton for taking us along on another fabulous adventure! I really appreciate all the work you do to provide such amazing footage of this beautiful landscape. You and Rocko are the best!
I’ll just cowboy camp next to the strange noise over in the trees. Nope I just couldn’t. That low energy vibration would’ve made me crazy within about an hour

To top it off .. a nice grizzly running the other way!!! As always .. thank you for showing the world these amazing places.
I get to see so many beautiful places because of your adventures. I'm comforted that you seem to make sound decisions regarding climbs that are too dangerous and local wild life. Big thanks to you and Rocko
My bro and I heard that sound too on our last hike to a local cabin. It’s a grouse! Freaked us out pretty bad until my friend told us what it was 😂 apparently they are good eating too
I got sidetracked looking up the website you mentioned, great information, so i got to watch the video twice. Beautiful. Thanks for showing that amazing world.

I still just can’t believe you’re a one man show doing all of this incredible stuff. Anyone seen Foresty in the wild? Did he have 5 producers and a camera team with him? 😂
All I can say is you are so brave to sleep where bears roam. I would be exhausted worring of being a snack for some bear. Please take bear spray ....next time! I don't think Rocko could fight off any predators ...even though she thinks she could. I look forward to your video's. Gorgeous footage. Thank you!
Congratulations on another summit 👏 That was freaky to watch with all the bear tracks everywhere, built up the anxiety like a scary movie. Little Rocko looked so tired back in the van. Stay safe ✌️
I thought the same thing when he showed the water pump. Did not realize that they had these in coastal BC since the growing season is so short. These are a huge problem on national forests in California, and can be potentially dangerous for off trail hikers who stumble across them (due to possibly armed guards at the grow).
Amazing territory! Awesome video production!! I can’t imagine hiking amongst the bears not to mention sleeping like that. You have nerves of steel!! And you forgot the spray….. I would have spray and a .44 magnum revolver at least. And you have some of the best drone footage there is. Love it all. 👍👍👍👊😎

Sooty Grouse is the drum noise! Meat Eater has a couple of episodes hunting for them in Alaska. Hear them all over in the coastal range. They can be quite strange to hear if you're not sure whats out there. Usually you dont see them as they hoot way up in the trees!

Beautiful . .That drumming sound is a ruffed grouse
Thank you for the information. 🌎 💙
It’s actually a sooty grouse drumming not a ruffed grouse. Ruffed do the wing beat thing while sootys inflate chest air sacks and drum
