Forestry should be part of whatever board if tourism for BC, he is really selling a trip to Canada for this Texan family
For sure.
Just be aware that what Foresty does is not for typical tourists. Almost all of his hikes require a lot of experience and extensive planning before hand.
Yee Haw
He should be compensated for trail clearing
The BC Tourism Board is a thing! But they really focus on the cities or places like tofino
What an absolute top notch human foresty is. Not getting paid a single cent and helping maintaining trails
A lot of good stuff here. Finishing with Rocko drying off all over you van was awesome and then the genius log roll topped it off. Please stay safe out there, a video of you turning around is worthy video.
Yes yes please don't ever keep going for contents sake; turning around still makes for a great video. Stay safe!
I could seriously watch 15 minutes of Rocko just doing Rocko things.
I actually like the turnaround videos. I love your stuff Forestry but I never want to see you taking unacceptable risks for our enjoyment, it's not what any of us are here for. Lovely video.
Thank you, she was helping clean the inside of the windshield for me!
@@forestyforest I always thought rocco was a boy.
Dude deserves an award for doing the trail clearing. Tons of respect for you.
I like how you moved that giant tree at the end. That was legit genius level engineering.
Man, the worst parts of these videos are among the best RUclips has to offer.
These will be enjoyed for generations to come just as Richard "Dick" Proenneke’s adventures from the 60’s.
Godspeed good man.
You and Rocko were a match made in heaven. You needed a dog that can keep up with you and she needed an active owner to burn off all that energy she has. Kudos to you both for finding each other!
Forest, please don't feel like you have to climb big mountains for content. I enjoy the everyday content, trips to town. Modifications on the van, daily troubles. Keep up the awesome content, big fan from NZ
Agreed.
safety first sometimes its not worth it to get a few clicks
Yeah, I prefer these, but all good. I want know how easy it is to find a place to squat over a hole every morning. And you wash yourself in the river?
Same
Yes, me too!
Rocko is turning into an agile hiker going across those fallen trees. Great aerial shots!
You sure she doesn't have some feline DNA?
Agreed. She's the envy!!
I like her go pro view of the world - although I worry about her falling in a crevice on those snowy mountain slopes
oh yea - good idea to keep the electric saw - good for small logs for your fire
She is much faster than me in that terrain, need to get a GPS tracker to compare results!!
"Wish I had something awesome to show you at the end of the video"
14:52 - Literally shows the coolest clip ever, even looks like Rocko is backing up the van lol
It really pisses me off that this dog has already gone more places and lived a better life than me and I am nearing 60. Thanks for the perspective Rocko!
Using the van to push the log at the end was a genius move!
Your videography is top notch. Stunning shots and a great flow to the entire video. Really fun to watch.
2nd that!
Homehardware sells a little saw Radley 18" bar, under $200 bucks. It should get you thru up 24" logs . Just don't work it to hard .Husky sells rancher saw 20" -24" bars $750 I believe. The first saw should be fine for what you do or even building a small emergency cabin.
Its all good. But not overboard like Chad.
Rather have the timely updates instead of the 3 week edit.

*Proceeds to do one of the coolest things I've ever seen.
-Thanks bro. Always a pleasure to watch.🤙
I wish I had wrote this! Well said.
Yeah, Foresty always delivers. Best channel ever!
Rocko is totally adorable.
Thanks for sharing the info about Bill C-11. My wife and I both do RUclips and are fellow Canadians so we will be spreading this info to others!
Love your channel! and had no clue about you being Canadian that's awesome!
It has passed the 3 rd reading in the House n now on to senate. Contacting the senators is now the only way to stop its passing.
Hey thanks, yeah hopefully we can get this stopped!
@@forestyforest Hey, great video. Where can I pick up a jacket I can store my dog in for harder hiking?
@@elliotmorin5560 The vertical front pockets on this one worked perfect. But i still needed to sew in a custom "head port". Then my backpack waist belt gives her a platform to lay on. I should do an overview in a video..
I love Rocco's floppy ear cam.
That battery powered chain saw is still impresive
Here 14 seconds after uploading
What's up forresty👋 from San Antonio Texas
You might not think that your video's are interesting enough, but know that the majority of us love them whether or not you make a peak. Your safety is more important to me than seeing you make a peak. I enjoy the "Rocko" footage, she is an amazing companion for you. Love that you have a passion for making things better for others to enjoy hiking by clearing the deadfall. I think that you should keep the electric chainsaw for those times when it is not so rough. Just keep being you, that is what people enjoy about your channel!!
Wow, you taught Rocko how to drive the van, and, move a log!
And he washes windows to.
Foresty Forest, the only man I know of who can name and tell the story of every single mountain in sight *chuckles*
"I wish I had something awesome to show you..." You've got Rocko !!!
Great work on the trail ! Somebody cares.
Ryobi seriously needs to be a heavy sponsor of this channel🤛
Very beautiful sights. We were from Chicago and my dad used to do seasonal work in Alaska, he would always leave a couple weeks early to see Canada, but he would call me up saying how he is on a big hike looking at big mountains.. I would like to think this is what he used to see and describe to me. But there is no way he had the physical capabilities to do any hikes that big haha! He used to live in his mini van throughout Canada and Alaska though and do adventurous things, that is why I feel so connected to your videos. He passed away 10 years ago we miss him dearly. But your videos bring me and my sisters joy because what you do reminds us of him. Thanks for all the entertainment
Rocko borking at the bear was priceless! 😂
Thanks for bringing up bill C-11 Foresty. This is a huge deal and needs to be dealt with! Great video as always man, keep up the good work! Cheers

The Ottawa regime really is the worst one in power in the entire developed world. I hate politics and the hatred I have for that clown Trudeau is enough to give me stomach ulcers.
@@zoidberg444 I'm in the States and couldn't agree with you more. Our clown show isn't any better. Never before have I hated so many really horrid, control freaks.
@@rouxchat6033 If you look at the G7 leaders right now probably the only one I would even rate of being slightly above average in terms of intelligence is that freak Macron in France who is a Rothschild clown and a weirdo (his wife is old enough to be his mother). Boris is a moron and really only cares about his own image. The president of the EU Ursula von de Leynen is the most failed politician in German history who ran their ministry of defence into such a state it literally couldn't function. It had no working tanks, planes or guns even for training exercises, Merkle sent her to Europe to get her out of the way, she is also highly corrupt. Mario Drahgi of Italy is unelected and ran the ECB into the ground and now is running Italy into the ground. Schultz in Germany is a complete non entity and has NO idea what he's doing. Trudeau is a complete idiot who could barely hack being an assistant drama teacher. He is a narcissist and an outright psychopath. Finally that leaves us with Biden - a man who was well known to be a dope when he came into the senate in 72. Who was the main man for the credit card lobby for his entire career who is no senile. No one even knows who is actually in charge in the whitehouse. His son also displays all the symptoms of someone who was horrifically sexually abused as a child.
I HATE POLITICS. I HATE IT. ITS A FESTERING YEAST INFECTION. I would give anything just to get rid of all of them and just live in the woods and never have to hear about anything to do with them ever again.
I'm sorry you guys need to deal with this. Hope it does not go through
Hahahahha! While you were talking Sir, your Rocko is trying to munch your rubber shoes, I am having a Great Laugh. Rocko is such an Adorable Pup! I have a Jack Russell Terrier too and he is adorable
Thanks Simon, I'm sure you are aware of how many people who's lives you cheer up.
I could watch an entire video of Rocco wearing those goggles...epic!
You’re so nice to your dog.
She truly won the lottery with you!
Forest Forest, he maintains trails and cabins. Foresty Forest.
Rocko sliding in the snow and doing wet dog zoomies at the end is as cute as it gets. What a great little mountain dog she is. Kaslo totally has a gas station and grocery store!
Holy crap. That Ryobi did way better than I expected!!! Good job clearing trail, Simon!
I have the same saw. It's surprisingly good for small jobs. What he was doing more then I would have thought.
Rocko is already a legend ... Dog with highest mountain climbs! Rocko and her rocking rolls!
Rocko has a way to go
"A stray dog has managed to climb to the summit of a 24,000-foot Himalayan mountain. The dog called Mera made it to the top of Baruntse in Nepal without any help and was still able to run around once she had made it. Mera spent three weeks climbing to the summit with expedition leader Dan Wargowsky, from Seattle."
Right? Love watching her sled downhill!
Yea! That was awesome!
Usually your drone shots are epic but that first fly over the lake was spectacular!!! Cheers dude
Agreed that was absolutely gorgeous
I agree. It's on the same level of beauty as Yosemite valley
"I wish I had something awesome to show you at the end of this video"......
Shows Rocko with the zoomies...... Well played sir, well played.
Foresty Forest is the GOAT!
your Dogs Deep Scary bark drove that Bear up into the Trees 😀
Thank you for speaking out against censorship in Canada
Have you considered approaching the forestry service and asking them to outfit you with the equipment you need for trail service? Like a volunteer thing like you're doing now but using their equipment?
Probably worth a chat, I think the trail crew for Parks Canada has a pretty refined outfit for it!
I hope at least someone from the marketing team for Ryobi Powertools would be watching this, and send him some of their premium equipment to show off on this channel. Just sayin'....
@@forestyforest I wouldn't even bother. I can only imagine the red tape and bureaucracy plus liability. Just get the gas chain saw and be done with it.
"Sorry, insurance etc." Going with Ryobi or other manufacturer sounds more like a real option.
I live in a UK city but our local council loans out litter picking equipment to groups and individuals on the same principle
Rocko really seemed to enjoy frolicking in the snow but apparently rain is not the same!! She is becoming quite the adventure dog!!
So glad you put Rocko in your life. She's the perfect breed for you. You shouldnt let her actually EAT your shoes though. If a hunk of that sticks in her guts, it could plug her up OR twist her stomach which would kill her before you could ever get her to the vets... JS
Ugh yeah she definitely swallowed a chunk. I have an arsenal of toys and treats that she just ignores and she goes for the darn shoes... or will start biting at me.
@@forestyforest avid chewers usually do well with a bully stick or cow's ear.
@@forestyforest allowing it the first time was probably not a good move.
I have a small dog that is a hardcore chewer. Chicken jerky and actual deer/elk antlers and great. Expensive but its the only thing that keeps our Luna off my shoes.
@@forestyforest Only thing that worked for our small dog but big chewer was a yack horn - buy one if you see one, they last a long time
Once again, you prove yourself to be a valuable citizen of the World. Thanks.
I'm loving the Rocko cam! All the best to you and Rocko.
Bill C-11 proposal is really bad news. Spread the word. Thanks Foresty.
One of many eh?
We can still spread this on social media because many people do not know what is happening!
I'm American so I have no idea what that bill is about, and I don't have a say in the matter anyway. But if some Canadians are anything like many Americans, there's probably a good number who don't know what that bill is about either. But they can actually do something about it by voting. Out of curiosity, why is it a terrible bill?
@@More_Row I love how Canadian your response was. I enjoy the little differences in language and accents across the spectrum of English speaking people.
"ABSOLUTELY NO" ON C 11...KEEP UR NOSE OUT OF "OUR" BUSNESS AND LIVES !!!!!!!!
That little battery chainsaw does a lot more than I thought they would do. Beautiful video
Unreal , Have no words .... Your videography is amazing. You are the best.
❤ Your content!!! And Rocko drying herself off and growling was a perfect finale for a wonderful video!!! Thank you Foresty Forest!!!
Thank you, thank you for not trying to summit the mountain when you determined it really wasn’t safe. We want you in one piece! And we especially want Rocko to be safe! I absolutely love your channel: the hiking, climbing, cooking, trail clearing, drone shots, etc. And most of all: the Rocko cam! :)
Well said
Man...I'm pretty proud of you for doing what you CAN do...You don't have to do it all brother. Remember , it wasn't so long ago that your health was holding you back...Just bite off what YOU can chew and trust that you are being an inspiration to others with bigger saws...
Funny my husband and I were driving down from Monica Meadows on the same FSR and were wondering if that was your van on Saturday! Enjoying your adventures as always, and Happy Canada Day :D
Yes couldve been, i hiked up to the meadows as well, lots of snow!
Love Rocco barking at the bear! What a cutie!
The scenery you experience is mindblowing
I was watching this video with my grandaughter and she was mighty impressed with your cheeseburgers. "The other lady we watch is vegan and she just eats, like, beans and vegetables and maybe some rice. She's really nice but I want to go camping with this guy!"
Haha! You couldn’t have picked a better hiking companion. She’s so much fun to watch on your videos.
What a cute dog. Full of energy and fun
Back when I used to live in Alberta when I was much younger; I used to hike on mountain trails. I always wondered if there were random maintenance crew that come by and cut down all the trees and what not. I guess it's people like Foresty who love the nature and want others to enjoy nature also. Thanks.
@Mike Seo , mostly volunteers
We are fortunate living in such a beautiful place.
"Sometimes you wonder what keeps the snow stuck to the side of the mountains. Magic..."
Your drone shots were worth the price of admission! Thanks for sharing!
Oh my God in heaven….what a view!
I'm on the beach and I just got notified this video went live, what a wonderful weekend!
I'm on the Beach also Pacifc ocean central Oregon coast Driftwood Beach
Vigilante trail maintainer! Thanks foresty for maintaining trails, even tho I will likely never hike those Canadian trails
Beautiful scenery! Rocko is just amazing; I especially enjoyed seeing her "sled" down the hill.
Even by watching the video I get dizzy. The drone shots are epic
Rocko is simply adorable, the perfect companion for you FF and will give you years of laughter and joy. She’s a keeper. ♥️👍🏻
The last one, when you showed us that helicopter, I understood that we (viewers) did not realize the scale of these mountains how are they really big. The shots from the drone are beautiful but make me feel that these mountains are so close that I could touch them.
Using the van to move that tree with the fulcrum was genius. Forestry Forest the inventor.
That terrier is living it's best Life. 😁🤘👍
I can’t believe how many cuts you made with your battery chainsaw, that’s a pretty good advertisement for someone looking to buy one. Your dog was a perfect ending to the video! Thanks for showing us how beautiful Canada is.
Another great vid. The footage of that cascade above the alpine lake was breath taking. And as someone who's done a bunch of trail maintenance, I gotta say Canadian Forestry should be sending you a paycheck. Was Rocko driving in the last scene??!
Foresty is absolutely one of a kind .. real deal
Rocco for best sidekick!! Her action cam is amazing!!
I'm so glad you were wise & didn't push it towards that peak, especially after what happened today on the Dolomites in Italy. So many lives lost, glacier broke loose. RIP😔
Oh no. First I've heard of this. Praying for all.
Love the names Canadians give their mountains (e.g. Blockhead, etc.)!!!!
Keep on truckin' Foresty!!! (Eddie Kendricks 1973)
So incredible to see your growth over the years! Thanks for sharing your view on our world!!
You ended the video ith the best thing possible. She is SO cute.
The scenery in this video ... epic
So much beauty! Canada is amazing. So funny Rocko sliding down the snow, she is adorable.
I just love alpine lakes, the colors are unreal
I bet the dogs that watch your videos are jealous. Yup, Rocco hit the jackpot. What a life.
Thanks a million for the beautiful footage of our gorgeous western outdoors.
What a life, Forest gets to live.
Let me fix that for you: "What a life Foresty has MADE for himself!" .... It didn't just fall into his lap, he made it happen.
I did a very similar life in this very same region for several years before YT existed. It is idyllic, but there are things F.F. does not show you. No shower, unless you find one in town. Trapped inside your tent or vehicle for days by cold rain, it rained here all May and most of June. Lots of mosquitoes and blackflies in July and August. Bear and cougar danger is not extreme, but not zero either, I am surprised a bear has not checked out his van at 2 AM if it smells food in there, if it is a big one, watch out, it may rip out a side window before you know what is happening. Small animals can chew on engine hoses, mice are everywhere and may carry disease. Branches in your face every step when hiking off-trail, and struggling and clawing every step of the way for hours. You could be blocked and trapped on a remote backroad by a wash-out, mudslide, forest fire, 2 flat tires, or a big fallen tree. One slip, one loose footing, one error when hiking off-trail down low, and you tumble for a few feet, up high, and you may be history. He has not sprained an ankle or twisted a knee or broken a leg yet 5 or 10 or 15 km from his vehicle, with no tent, no duvet, no pad, no cell service and no companion to go for help, although a satellite phone will connect you to rescue services, if they can find you in time .............
@@davidmarshall718 Still sounds better than being stuck in my big rig all day watching other people do it. But yeah, I get what you’re sayin.
I love seeing the snow.
(and Rocko too)!
There was no shortage of awesome in this video.
I just wanted to put out there that I always loved the fact that you use an electric chainsaw, because it doesn't make such a terrible noise and doesn't disturb the wildllife and general environment around you too much. Quiet is such a precious thing!!
One of the best RUclips hikers and Forestry isn't bad either!
Wow that drone footage is epic. Thank you so much for sharing your hikes with us.
Thank you for mentioning C-11
A friend recommended your channel about two months ago and have been hooked ever since. That little Rocko! Her little white butt asleep on your orange pack -- just too cute.
