In defense of Verosika... Her introduction episode did cover her backstory. Blitz left her to pay for the hotel room, stole her car, drove three rings away, and maxed her credit cards on horse riding lessons. And now we discover as an audience two things about this backstory: 1. Blitz and Verosika were dating long enough for her to feel vulnerable enough to say "I love you." Verosika admits this was difficult for her to feel secure enough in a relationship to say, so we may assume that they were together for a significant amount of time. 2. Blitz's defense mechanism was to self sabotage and he REALLY hurt her
Also, as an added context to #1, she’s a succubus. And if we look at Ozzie as a template, love for a lust demon is probably to commit to cuz who wouldn’t want to hookup with a hot demon chick and be genuine and sincere. She probably had countless partners, but only ONE she felt real with, and boom, heartbreak.
Idk if you remember from the spring break episode, but when Blitz broke up with Verosika, he didn't just end things, he stole her credit card, maxed it out, and abandoned her at a hotel, and now we know this was in response to her literally just telling him she loved him, like no wonder she despises him lol
And even after he did all that, she was still willing to sit and have an actual heartfelt talk with him. Makes you realize she isn't the shallow character she was portrayed as in her first appearance.

Ngl she kinda became one of my favorite characters after her speech to blitz. I should have seen it coming but damn was I hit deep when she told him off.
The amount of people I've seen hating on Stolas for kissing the Imp guy even though he's literally NOT even dating Blitz BECAUSE of Blitz's own commitment issues is insane. Stolas felt wanted for once, that was the first time he felt happy for that entire day and he's also drunk and probably got lost in the moment and forgot about Blitz being at the party. Stolas needed that break, he's the one who had been trying his hardest to have a relationship with Blitz this entire time and I can't believe people are actively hating and not understanding both sides.
To be fair. Blitz has Mt Everest sized issues. And Stolas isn't 100% innocent in this problem either. How he handled confessing to Blitz was not the way to go. He should have picked a day that wasn't the full moon and introduced the Crystal first. Or, at the very least, giving Blitz a heads up that today will be different and they need to have a serious talk, that he's not in trouble, they just need to talk about something. And directly, too. Because from how Stolas texts is very roundabout with a lot of plausible deniability. That day, Blitz was worried that Stolas was getting bored of him, that the man he liked and relied on for his livelihood wasn't getting satisfied and was worried that if he didn't, that everything he holds dear will be at risk. You gotta realize that Stolas is royalty. He's a Goichia. Blitz is an Imp. They're on opposite ends of the power spectrum. Stolas holds all the cards, whether he knows that or not. His confession of feelings came literally out of nowhere from Blitz perspective and since all he was expecting is a good fuck, he didn't take it seriously. I mean, would you? If your entire relationship with someone was transactional sex in exchange for something you NEED to keep your business running, would you take their confession seriously? Especially after so long of that person using possessive language, giving you a pet name that you don't like and have verbalized your distaste for but have no power to refuse, been relentlessly flirted with when you're obviously uncomfortable but can't say anything because the dude doing it to you is a Prince and you are a dirty peasant. Of course Blitz thinks the confession is role play, of course he gets pissed when Stolas says he thinks highly of him. All he's been this whole time is a plaything. Sure, he likes Stolas, and I'm sure him taking the book away "permanently" before prepping him emotionally set him off on an emotional Rollercoaster. All of this plus Blitz's own self-worth issues and problems with commitment and inability to see someone loving him (And when they do he self destructs to push them away because to him, loving him is the worst mistake anyone can make and he's more doing them and him a favor) the confession was horribly done. And I hate that Blitz is the only one apologizing.

Blitzø was wrong but so was Stolas for springing it on him. Why is Blitzø the only one to apologize. Stolas hasn't even taken a second to wonder why Blitzø thought he saw him that way
I definitely don’t hate Stolas for that, but I understand why people didn’t like that, because they are thinking off screen and heat of the moment if you catch my drift. That will definitely affect the future of the series. He definitely deserved to feel wanted though, this relationship has had many ups, downs, quirks, and heartbreaks. Not to mention, Blitzø did the same thing in the Season One Finale and the interesting predicament in S2E3 which Stolas probably has no idea about. Still didn’t stop people (and myself) from being very sad at that ending. Didn’t think I could feel the emotions I did from an animated show, especially since I’ve never watched shows like this. I’m no relationship expert, especially for this show. I just understand both sides of the argument for this very interesting relationship.

I find the "X should've handled things differently in this highly detailed, carefully crafted way I've come up with" arguments ridiculous because that's not how people work. Stolas was extremely (and rightfully) nervous about how the meeting would go, but he tried his best to do this thing for Blitz with all good intentions. The fact that Blitz couldn't handle it and that Stolas immediately shut down after feeling rejected isn't proof of it being anyone's fault, it's just how their minds cope (or don't cope) with the situation.
Danny didn’t even notice that he’s still being haunted by Alex Brightman in this episode. Not only do we see Robo-Fizz in the shadows of Loo Loo Land, but there’s also a background imp that’s dressed like Beetlejuice.
What's funny about that imp is that some fans are saying that it's actually meant to be Beetlejuice just chillin in the background, and I'm like "No guys, that's just a demon twink in a Sexy Beetlejuice costume, clearly."
The fact that Verosika is completely aware that blitz absolutely deserves to be at the "I hate blitzo" party shows that she actually understands him in a way nobody else seems to

I think Verosika realized that nobody is more deserving of being at an "I hate Blitz" party than Blitz himself. The amount of self-loathing and insecurity he has - that's why she gave him the heart of the cake. I do wish Blitz and Stolas had gotten to continue their conversation, because they were actually making some progress in understanding each other better. Blitz so clearly cares for Stolas, but he can't express it properly. Loved the video!
Personally I think it's good they're taking a break, Stolas needs time away from Blitz, and maybe this new imp will be positive for him too especially in his journey, and Blitz needs a break from relationships like this in general, he can have healthy other relationships but this ep proves he can't have healthy romantic/sexual ones. I've never been the biggest shipper for them in general tho, they're character's and traumas are too at odds with each other that when they're at their worst they are the worst for each other. Maybe with enough individual progress that will change. But for now, what Stolas needs is something else, the things that haven't been said he can infer, and the rest isn't necessarily relevant to what he needs to know right now, he knows enough, and he doesn't owe Blitz any more time to explain
I always thought Stolas knew about Strikers first assassination attempt. Like I thought it was one of those background conversations that obviously happened. Stella literally yelled at Striker for failing ACROSS THE DAMN TABLE from Stolas.

Probably one of the coolest parts of this episode is that Verosika actually calls Blitzø "Blitz" towards the end of their conversation. Kind of showing that she might start the process of slowly hating him less because she finally got the authentic apology she's been wanting and learning that Blitz wants to change.

Some guy's review of this episode called it "filler" because it allowed the show to slow down and explore character depth and development rather than focusing on humor and action and I got SO mad.
I didn't even notice this at first, but at 9:16 on the list of people he screwed, above 'Southern Bitch' there's another for 'Annoying Kid'. They're referencing the pilot episode with that kid they killed, but he skipped it bc the pilot is kinda considered non-canon!
Love how he's like "The next episode will be a fun little break" as if we didn't see Millie and Blitz both lookin super possessed, reliving trauma, spouting off insults and calling out insecurities. Yeeeeea it'll be fiiiiine.
The Versika song lyrics at the end are "baby im not over it, I'm over you". Which I feel articulates exactly where her head is at. She's not over how she was treated but she is over him. And she throws the party to help everyone else who Blitz has hurt to come to terms with it all and to realize that they weren't the problem and this is a pattern of behavior.

I'm reposting so Danny can hopefully see it - There is an in world explaination to Blitzo's misspellings only over text. Back when there was the Helluva Boss instagram accounts, it was confirmed that his fingers are too big for the buttons and he constantly misspelt on his account.
It hurts more when you realize that this many people in the party can't get over him because their vulnerability was crushed and they think it's their fault. The song Stolas sings as well as Verosika talking about it really nails it on calling out Blitz throwing back the negative right back at his exes

Yeah that’s cuz of the live stream of ppl actually like explaining things better and Blitzø’s situation better. And he was very open abt it. So that’s why he’s no longer ruthless abt it. And why he is starting to hold Stolas slightly more accountable.
Blitzø and Stolas are so full of misreads and miscommunications that it hurts. I hate that they both have such trauma surrounding any kind of relationship (friendship or romantic). I just want to see them both truly happy. 😭

Honestly as a stolas fan and a Blitzø fan I really liked this episode. I think they really needed this. Also as much as I love Stolitz and am rooting for them to be endgame, that guy who hit on stolas was so kind he almost won me over. We love a respectful king 👑
(first part) same. I think the guy is a good rebound for Stolas and might give him some perspective, so he has more romantic experience than just having been with Blitzø, but I'd be upset if Stolitz won't be endgame (I'm pretty sure it will)
The only thing missing is Stolas actually acknowledging the power imbalance and apologizing for ignoring the hurt he’s caused Blitzo by ignoring it. Like they both messed up, and now Blitzo is seeing his mistakes, I need Stolas to see his too. 😅

All these demons after YEARS of the relationship being over should have moved on. If anything "you can only hate something you trully love" is more correct. All of them are in love with him. But just like Verosika, they all know if they say they love him - he will run. None of them will get a relationship. This hate party is just them being frustarated that he refuses to date them.
I still find it funny that Martha gets with the teacher though, a little sense of irony. Teacher wants her dead, Martha dies and now will Martha is more of a cannibal in the sheets now and is now being taught new things.

What isn't it's all about Blitz The heart-to-heart talk with him was cut deep very deeply with a knife and trying to teach Blitz how to be a good person and let him know all the terrible things that he's done with every relationship he's been with including being with her too I almost cried during this scene cuz of how deep it was and how much the truth hurts but I have a bad feeling though he may have listened yesterday but later on he'll most likely forget and then become an a****** as he is today
He also realized that what he did to Verosika was very similar to what he did to Stolas. Because of that he realized Stolas was probably also humiliated. And now he may feel the same as in which he might not get over what happened but he might get over Blitz. This is the opposite, obviously, of what Blitz wants.
Stolas is a pretty big hypocrite though in that moment where he's talking about being uncomfortable with Blitzø's sexual language and his upset that Blitzø won't heed that when throughout their whole situationship he never once heard Blitzø out when he expressed discomfort or upset at Stolas' overly sexual language with him. that in no way makes it right for Blitzø to be behaving the way he is, it's just yet another way they've both been shitty/toxic in their interactions edit: 13:15 yeah, this party really was the wake-up call Blitzø needed
Thank you soooooo much for putting this out there! I've seen so many people now hating on Blitz after this episode over the whole sexual thing, but nobody questioned Stolas about it (not a hater) and was all just like "haha comedic horny bird"
@@dr3am3rzz22 yeah, like there is something to be said about the show seeming to flip flop on when it is and isn't okay for stuff like that to be happening to characters but I honestly feel like at least part of that may be intentional too considering they've had everything planned out from the start. my (hopeful)thinking is that they're going to have Blitzø and other characters come to a realization about their past interactions that were played off for laughs and recontextualize it for both the characters and the audience. like, in that live stream Danny did talking about how he was wrong about Blitzø being the sole aggressor/source of toxicity in the relationship, there was a big discussion about the unclear morals in the show. it was mentioned how Blitzø is near constantly harassing Moxie and Millie(sexual and otherwise) and the tone set by the show is comedic yet people are saying that the way Stolas has frequently spoken to Blitzø should be considered a more serious infraction. now it absolutely could just be bad writing, but my thinking is that while those interactions have initially been played off for laughs, Blitzø, now that he's expressed a wish to change and not continue hurting those close to him, is going to start realizing how not okay many of his interactions with his employees/friends have been. plus, I think we can still have moments of suspension of disbelief and things can still be played off for a laugh in the show while at the same time informing the characters perceptions of each other. I've brought up in past discussions with people how Blitzø was perfectly valid in not catching on to Stolas' passive hints at wanting something more or immediately being able to process and believe Stolas' roundabout confession on Full Moon due to so many of their interactions starting off or quickly turning sexual on Stolas' part. this isn't to say that we're meant to see Stolas as a bad person who's constantly harassing Blitzø, it's just something to consider from Blitzø's perspective and how he would be taking those interactions. I mean, Blitzø said so himself after Ozzie's club that Stolas makes it "really clear all the time" that their thing is just transactional sex. I get the sense that some people saw that only as Blitzø being dismissive and intentionally stomping down Stolas attempts to reach out but I think that was at least in part one of Blitzø's rare moments of true emotional honesty. he truly does think that's what Stolas has been communicating with the way he constantly sexualizes and (unintentionally)demeans Blitzø, especially after Stolas failed to speak up and defend him as an imp. a lot of Blitzø's perception of his relationship with Stolas absolutely has to do with his self loathing and belief that nobody could ever truly love him but the way Stolas has approached it and spoken to Blitzø over the course of their relationship has in no way helped things.
This was a marvelous episode that really allows Blitzo to finally look at his actions. He is sympathetic, he has trauma, but he is bad at acknowledging it in full. And that hurts him and those around him through his actions. Your words on how Blitzo being unable to fight back because he is in disguise also ties back to Truth Seekers. He and Moxxie were able to have a heart to heart and begin working toward something better, and that's because the truth gas made it so he was too drugged to fight back. Everything within came out in full and he was forced to accept it.
In full moon danny if you look at the calendar blitz has he had a day in the middle of the month that was scratched out and it says "tell stolas i luv him" SO HE WAS GOING TO AND CHICKENED OUT
Which one? Because out of the 8 scratched out days only 2 seem to have any actual text, one says "check the van" and the one beside it seems to say something like "(something illegible) all"
Blitzø is a great example of “Hurt people hurt people.” Speaking as the child of two such people who used me as their unpaid therapist for my whole childhood, bitching constantly about how much their parents (or exes) hurt them…just to witness them hurt me the exact. Same. Way. Them being hurt did not justify the way they turned around and hurt their own child. That child did nothing to deserve that, that child didn’t even KNOW what the hell was going on. And the people they were truly upset at didn’t know that child even existed and wouldn’t give two shits what was happening to her, so the parents taking their petty revenge on their child did absolutely nothing to hurt their own parents. It was just petty bullying of someone they knew couldn’t fight back in a sad attempt to soothe their own hurt and insecurities, and no amount of abuse in their own pasts justifies that. ETA: Stolas is technically another example of that, but he at least seems to actually recognize that he’s messed up, that his own behavior maybe isn’t up to snuff either, and he clearly went to great lengths to try and shield Octavia from it (though his success in that area is up for debate).
Veronica throws the party for those blitz has hurt to heal. If you notice she's smoking not drinking. She's putting her all into helping stolas feel better and all the others. Also if you look at the party every time blitz is on screen the background has broken hearts except when he's with stolas
I think it's more like "how zoomers are too neurotic and illiterate" texting. I'm routinely getting kicked from subreddits and discord groups for being passive aggressive... I'm using periods and proper grammar, they're getting a mental breakdown because I have a basic education.

When I saw this episode, there were so many instances where I thought "Danny's gonna love this episode!" and could barely wait to see his reaction! Stolas standing up for himself and being sassy as all hell, Blitz being forced to confront how his shitty actions affect others, Stolas singing, them actually talking and Blitz actually trying to apologize to Stolas. So much to enjoy and love to see Danny react to! I so love the absolute unbridled joy on Danny's face when Stolas sings!
I actually found you because of Vanitas, and I'm actually watching the show episode by episode, and then going back in between and watching your reactions to it.
The fact Verosika sees blitz also hates himself and cares for stolas when no one else does was such a good plot point. Also getting to see the kind of low self esteem of blitz thinking no one could love him so he has to shut them out is heartbreaking
So just to clarify. Even tho its said in the ep. This isnt exactly a hate party. Is a party to help those who have also lost blitz because for some reason losing him just hurts these people so much.
I have watched this episode on repeat so many times😂. And Stolas singing the rock ballad is everything. When Blitzø said he wanted to "earn" his way to Earth it was a poor excuse just so he could convince Stolas to stay while also not communicating his true feelings. I loved seeing Blitzø and Stolas sit down and have an actual discussion, though poor Stolas was pretty drunk. Not sure how much he'll remember/ if he got the full depth of Blitzø's self hate. Despite everything, Stolas still showed Blitzø was dear to his heart. Covering Blitzøs face and scanning the crowd as they walked into a different room to talk, juts to make sure no one notices/attacks Blitzø. And I loved seeing Blitzø get jealous. Hopefully its the motivation he needs to grow and truely reconnect with Stolas.
I think one of the strongest visuals in this episode is a blink and miss it moment. When Blitz walks down the stairs after talking with Verosika and he passes a person drinking on the stairs and they look a moment away from crying. And you can see it on Blitz's face of "oh shit, I caused this" because he finally recognizes in others feelings he has had himself. He feels empathy and is experiencing specified guilt. I think he feels a lot of nebulous guilt and spite, but I think this is one of the first times we see him experience guilt that has a clear and specified origin besides Fiz. But he connects the dots and I think thats a wonderful moment. I want his character to feel guilt, not in a self-deprocative way, which is what he does A LOT "im such a bad person, I don't deserve anything", stuff like that, but rather "I did something bad and hurt others, I feel bad about it and want to change it." I think he's going to start trying to absolve this guilt by actually helping others rather than trying to absolve it to make HIM feel better.

In defense of Verosika... Her introduction episode did cover her backstory. Blitz left her to pay for the hotel room, stole her car, drove three rings away, and maxed her credit cards on horse riding lessons.
And now we discover as an audience two things about this backstory:
1. Blitz and Verosika were dating long enough for her to feel vulnerable enough to say "I love you." Verosika admits this was difficult for her to feel secure enough in a relationship to say, so we may assume that they were together for a significant amount of time.
2. Blitz's defense mechanism was to self sabotage and he REALLY hurt her
Also we've seen her tattoo with "Blitzo" in a heart crossed out before, and she called him a heartbreaking freak in the ozzie episode

Also, as an added context to #1, she’s a succubus. And if we look at Ozzie as a template, love for a lust demon is probably to commit to cuz who wouldn’t want to hookup with a hot demon chick and be genuine and sincere. She probably had countless partners, but only ONE she felt real with, and boom, heartbreak.
Idk if you remember from the spring break episode, but when Blitz broke up with Verosika, he didn't just end things, he stole her credit card, maxed it out, and abandoned her at a hotel, and now we know this was in response to her literally just telling him she loved him, like no wonder she despises him lol
And even after he did all that, she was still willing to sit and have an actual heartfelt talk with him. Makes you realize she isn't the shallow character she was portrayed as in her first appearance.

The amount of people I've seen hating on Stolas for kissing the Imp guy even though he's literally NOT even dating Blitz BECAUSE of Blitz's own commitment issues is insane. Stolas felt wanted for once, that was the first time he felt happy for that entire day and he's also drunk and probably got lost in the moment and forgot about Blitz being at the party. Stolas needed that break, he's the one who had been trying his hardest to have a relationship with Blitz this entire time and I can't believe people are actively hating and not understanding both sides.
To be fair. Blitz has Mt Everest sized issues. And Stolas isn't 100% innocent in this problem either. How he handled confessing to Blitz was not the way to go. He should have picked a day that wasn't the full moon and introduced the Crystal first. Or, at the very least, giving Blitz a heads up that today will be different and they need to have a serious talk, that he's not in trouble, they just need to talk about something. And directly, too. Because from how Stolas texts is very roundabout with a lot of plausible deniability. That day, Blitz was worried that Stolas was getting bored of him, that the man he liked and relied on for his livelihood wasn't getting satisfied and was worried that if he didn't, that everything he holds dear will be at risk. You gotta realize that Stolas is royalty. He's a Goichia. Blitz is an Imp. They're on opposite ends of the power spectrum. Stolas holds all the cards, whether he knows that or not. His confession of feelings came literally out of nowhere from Blitz perspective and since all he was expecting is a good fuck, he didn't take it seriously. I mean, would you? If your entire relationship with someone was transactional sex in exchange for something you NEED to keep your business running, would you take their confession seriously? Especially after so long of that person using possessive language, giving you a pet name that you don't like and have verbalized your distaste for but have no power to refuse, been relentlessly flirted with when you're obviously uncomfortable but can't say anything because the dude doing it to you is a Prince and you are a dirty peasant. Of course Blitz thinks the confession is role play, of course he gets pissed when Stolas says he thinks highly of him. All he's been this whole time is a plaything. Sure, he likes Stolas, and I'm sure him taking the book away "permanently" before prepping him emotionally set him off on an emotional Rollercoaster. All of this plus Blitz's own self-worth issues and problems with commitment and inability to see someone loving him (And when they do he self destructs to push them away because to him, loving him is the worst mistake anyone can make and he's more doing them and him a favor) the confession was horribly done. And I hate that Blitz is the only one apologizing.

Blitzø was wrong but so was Stolas for springing it on him. Why is Blitzø the only one to apologize. Stolas hasn't even taken a second to wonder why Blitzø thought he saw him that way
I definitely don’t hate Stolas for that, but I understand why people didn’t like that, because they are thinking off screen and heat of the moment if you catch my drift. That will definitely affect the future of the series.
He definitely deserved to feel wanted though, this relationship has had many ups, downs, quirks, and heartbreaks. Not to mention, Blitzø did the same thing in the Season One Finale and the interesting predicament in S2E3 which Stolas probably has no idea about.
Still didn’t stop people (and myself) from being very sad at that ending. Didn’t think I could feel the emotions I did from an animated show, especially since I’ve never watched shows like this.
I’m no relationship expert, especially for this show. I just understand both sides of the argument for this very interesting relationship.

I find the "X should've handled things differently in this highly detailed, carefully crafted way I've come up with" arguments ridiculous because that's not how people work. Stolas was extremely (and rightfully) nervous about how the meeting would go, but he tried his best to do this thing for Blitz with all good intentions. The fact that Blitz couldn't handle it and that Stolas immediately shut down after feeling rejected isn't proof of it being anyone's fault, it's just how their minds cope (or don't cope) with the situation.
Danny didn’t even notice that he’s still being haunted by Alex Brightman in this episode. Not only do we see Robo-Fizz in the shadows of Loo Loo Land, but there’s also a background imp that’s dressed like Beetlejuice.
What's funny about that imp is that some fans are saying that it's actually meant to be Beetlejuice just chillin in the background, and I'm like "No guys, that's just a demon twink in a Sexy Beetlejuice costume, clearly."

I think Verosika realized that nobody is more deserving of being at an "I hate Blitz" party than Blitz himself. The amount of self-loathing and insecurity he has - that's why she gave him the heart of the cake. I do wish Blitz and Stolas had gotten to continue their conversation, because they were actually making some progress in understanding each other better. Blitz so clearly cares for Stolas, but he can't express it properly. Loved the video!
Personally I think it's good they're taking a break, Stolas needs time away from Blitz, and maybe this new imp will be positive for him too especially in his journey, and Blitz needs a break from relationships like this in general, he can have healthy other relationships but this ep proves he can't have healthy romantic/sexual ones. I've never been the biggest shipper for them in general tho, they're character's and traumas are too at odds with each other that when they're at their worst they are the worst for each other. Maybe with enough individual progress that will change. But for now, what Stolas needs is something else, the things that haven't been said he can infer, and the rest isn't necessarily relevant to what he needs to know right now, he knows enough, and he doesn't owe Blitz any more time to explain

Probably one of the coolest parts of this episode is that Verosika actually calls Blitzø "Blitz" towards the end of their conversation. Kind of showing that she might start the process of slowly hating him less because she finally got the authentic apology she's been wanting and learning that Blitz wants to change.

What isn't it's all about Blitz The heart-to-heart talk with him was cut deep very deeply with a knife and trying to teach Blitz how to be a good person and let him know all the terrible things that he's done with every relationship he's been with including being with her too I almost cried during this scene cuz of how deep it was and how much the truth hurts but I have a bad feeling though he may have listened yesterday but later on he'll most likely forget and then become an a****** as he is today
He also realized that what he did to Verosika was very similar to what he did to Stolas. Because of that he realized Stolas was probably also humiliated. Stolas is a pretty big hypocrite though in that moment where he's talking about being uncomfortable with Blitzø's sexual language and his upset that Blitzø won't heed that when throughout their whole situationship he never once heard Blitzø out when he expressed discomfort or upset at Stolas' overly sexual language with him. that in no way makes it right for Blitzø to be behaving the way he is, it's just yet another way they've both been shitty/toxic in their interactions

Thank you soooooo much for putting this out there! I've seen so many people now hating on Blitz after this episode over the whole sexual thing, but nobody questioned Stolas about it (not a hater) and was all just like "haha comedic horny bird"
@@dr3am3rzz22 yeah, like there is something to be said about the show seeming to flip flop on when it is and isn't okay for stuff like that to be happening to characters but I honestly feel like at least part of that may be intentional too considering they've had everything planned out from the start.
my (hopeful)thinking is that they're going to have Blitzø and other characters come to a realization about their past interactions that were played off for laughs and recontextualize it for both the characters and the audience. like, in that live stream Danny did talking about how he was wrong about Blitzø being the sole aggressor/source of toxicity in the relationship, there was a big discussion about the unclear morals in the show. it was mentioned how Blitzø is near constantly harassing Moxie and Millie(sexual and otherwise) and the tone set by the show is comedic yet people are saying that the way Stolas has frequently spoken to Blitzø should be considered a more serious infraction.
now it absolutely could just be bad writing, but my thinking is that while those interactions have initially been played off for laughs, Blitzø, now that he's expressed a wish to change and not continue hurting those close to him, is going to start realizing how not okay many of his interactions with his employees/friends have been.
plus, I think we can still have moments of suspension of disbelief and things can still be played off for a laugh in the show while at the same time informing the characters perceptions of each other. I've brought up in past discussions with people how Blitzø was perfectly valid in not catching on to Stolas' passive hints at wanting something more or immediately being able to process and believe Stolas' roundabout confession on Full Moon due to so many of their interactions starting off or quickly turning sexual on Stolas' part. this isn't to say that we're meant to see Stolas as a bad person who's constantly harassing Blitzø, it's just something to consider from Blitzø's perspective and how he would be taking those interactions.
I mean, Blitzø said so himself after Ozzie's club that Stolas makes it "really clear all the time" that their thing is just transactional sex. I get the sense that some people saw that only as Blitzø being dismissive and intentionally stomping down Stolas attempts to reach out but I think that was at least in part one of Blitzø's rare moments of true emotional honesty. he truly does think that's what Stolas has been communicating with the way he constantly sexualizes and (unintentionally)demeans Blitzø, especially after Stolas failed to speak up and defend him as an imp.
a lot of Blitzø's perception of his relationship with Stolas absolutely has to do with his self loathing and belief that nobody could ever truly love him but the way Stolas has approached it and spoken to Blitzø over the course of their relationship has in no way helped things.

This was a marvelous episode that really allows Blitzo to finally look at his actions. He is sympathetic, he has trauma, but he is bad at acknowledging it in full. And that hurts him and those around him through his actions. Your words on how Blitzo being unable to fight back because he is in disguise also ties back to Truth Seekers. He and Moxxie were able to have a heart to heart and begin working toward something better, and that's because the truth gas made it so he was too drugged to fight back. Everything within came out in full and he was forced to accept it.

Blitzø is a great example of “Hurt people hurt people.” Speaking as the child of two such people who used me as their unpaid therapist for my whole childhood, bitching constantly about how much their parents (or exes) hurt them…just to witness them hurt me the exact. Same. Way.
Them being hurt did not justify the way they turned around and hurt their own child. That child did nothing to deserve that, that child didn’t even KNOW what the hell was going on. And the people they were truly upset at didn’t know that child even existed and wouldn’t give two shits what was happening to her, so the parents taking their petty revenge on their child did absolutely nothing to hurt their own parents. It was just petty bullying of someone they knew couldn’t fight back in a sad attempt to soothe their own hurt and insecurities, and no amount of abuse in their own pasts justifies that.
ETA: Stolas is technically another example of that, but he at least seems to actually recognize that he’s messed up, that his own behavior maybe isn’t up to snuff either, and he clearly went to great lengths to try and shield Octavia from it (though his success in that area is up for debate).

When I saw this episode, there were so many instances where I thought "Danny's gonna love this episode!" and could barely wait to see his reaction! Stolas standing up for himself and being sassy as all hell, Blitz being forced to confront how his shitty actions affect others, Stolas singing, them actually talking and Blitz actually trying to apologize to Stolas. So much to enjoy and love to see Danny react to! I so love the absolute unbridled joy on Danny's face when Stolas sings!

The fact Verosika sees blitz also hates himself and cares for stolas when no one else does was such a good plot point. Also getting to see the kind of low self esteem of blitz thinking no one could love him so he has to shut them out is heartbreaking

I have watched this episode on repeat so many times😂. And Stolas singing the rock ballad is everything. When Blitzø said he wanted to "earn" his way to Earth it was a poor excuse just so he could convince Stolas to stay while also not communicating his true feelings. I loved seeing Blitzø and Stolas sit down and have an actual discussion, though poor Stolas was pretty drunk. Not sure how much he'll remember/ if he got the full depth of Blitzø's self hate. Despite everything, Stolas still showed Blitzø was dear to his heart. Covering Blitzøs face and scanning the crowd as they walked into a different room to talk, juts to make sure no one notices/attacks Blitzø. And I loved seeing Blitzø get jealous. Hopefully its the motivation he needs to grow and truely reconnect with Stolas.

I think one of the strongest visuals in this episode is a blink and miss it moment. When Blitz walks down the stairs after talking with Verosika and he passes a person drinking on the stairs and they look a moment away from crying. And you can see it on Blitz's face of "oh shit, I caused this" because he finally recognizes in others feelings he has had himself. He feels empathy and is experiencing specified guilt. I think he feels a lot of nebulous guilt and spite, but I think this is one of the first times we see him experience guilt that has a clear and specified origin besides Fiz. But he connects the dots and I think thats a wonderful moment. I want his character to feel guilt, not in a self-deprocative way, which is what he does A LOT "im such a bad person, I don't deserve anything", stuff like that, but rather "I did something bad and hurt others, I feel bad about it and want to change it." I think he's going to start trying to absolve this guilt by actually helping others rather than trying to absolve it to make HIM feel better.
