I had no idea that a 1 in 12 twist would stabilize such a heavy bullet. Gives me more confidence in my ssg3000 with a 1:11.5. I havent shot and heavier than 168s and had never considered a 200 gr bullet. Love your 308 content!
That was impressive. At first I had my doubts but clearly the heavier the bullet the better it's going to perform especially in the wind. The opposite is equally true as well. I had the great fortune to shoot 6.5C 147 ELD M out to 1 mile in Wyoming back at the end of September. I hit 3/10 and my misses were a little wider of the target than your .308 misses. The wind that day was definitely a factor but in the end I was super stoked to get hits at a mile. Here behind enemy lines in communist held MD it's nearly impossible to find distances beyond 500M. Good stuff!
You was doing really good for a little over a mile, you’re getting really good with that reloading, can’t believe the humidity is so low I don’t think I’ve ever seen it below 50% it stays around 90 to 95% here most of the time, thanks for sharing your experience
Good stuff, Eagle. Thanks for your input on 308 last night. I hope Chico learned some good information for his hand loading. We need to do 308 again and have you and JRB on live.
I'm going to immediately buy stock in Berger! Kenny's gonna be buying a bunch of these! 😉 Nice initial foray into this load, Dude! I couldn't hit the side of the hill, and you were getting right in there!
Your reloading and shooting skills go without saying , but I'm much impressed with your production skills also . I'm sure you put a large amount of effort in all aspects of what you present in video form and I'd like to take a moment to say Thank You and I hope you continue long into the future .
Ken, If a smidge is a unit of measurement, that is all it takes of movement of the alignment of the whole thing at that distance. (For me and just my opinion) being that the rifle is not bolted down, secured and anchored so it will not move, the results you are getting I would say are about average. I have seen long distance shooting where 3-4 shots centered and then 4-5 didn't, then 2-3 shots centered, the 4-5 more didn't. I believe that the source is founded in the position of the barrel as barrel time and the release of the projectile from the muzzle. In short, I believe that you are doing really good. -Dave
Thanks Dave. I've been debating on what kind of setup to grab. Either a Joy stick front mount or adjustable bag rider base for a while. I seen Caldwell makes something called the Fire control. Not a SEB but should help. Or go with a High extended atlas and rear bag slide on an adjustable bag base from 4AW (Mark and Sam). One of the things im noticed is the bounce from shooting off a padded gun case.
Hi , really learn alot from your videos , i have A question regarding my fires , iuse to have a carbon ring on the Neck but now I have a no more ring but it reaches to the case body what do think is the problem
Thanks Jerry! The carbon ring on the shoulder is normal sign for charges with lower pressures or slower burning powder. Your looking for inconsistency. As long as they all look the same, their isn't a indication of a problem
Eagle, look into the 200 grain Sierra matchking tipped bullet they also have a 220 I believe and possibly a 230 grain as well. You might be launching them in like a mortar round but they will Buck the wind like no tomorrow.
Fighting the wind is the biggest benefit as well as bigger splash. If you go with a higher weight. Run bullets with less bearing surface (Secant) VLD bullets. Berger Hybrids ect. -3 to +5 into the lands. With these bullets you wont lose much velocity and gain the benefits of the heavier weight
Ya. Im trying the concept of not doing adjustments on the scope if your in the "cone of accuracy". Unfortunately I was 1 MOA low and lacking a spotter. But you know this isn't the end of this lol
Kenny what do you think about the 178gr Amax, ELD-X or A-Tip will do. I don't think they make the 178gr A-Max anymore but I got about 5 boxes new at a yard sale of all places. Great shooting by the way.
I haven't tried any in that weight. For some reason I can't find a good load with 180gr bullets. I think I my shop has some of those bullets. Thanks brother!
I agree. Ill keep testing to see if the small rifle primer and this powder starts doing weird things when temps get in the 30's. So far its doing great!
What is your velocity spread on those rounds and I’ve been trying to load something similar 212 ELDX any suggestions on a starting point with reloadEd’s 17.
Once again Kenny NICE WORK MY FRIEND!! Sheer talent brother. Is ur C.M. Barrel same length as ur .308? Sure seems a whole lot longer. Anyhow thanks agin Kenny keep up outstanding wrk. Godbless my friend.
I told a buddy of mine a 308 with handloaded ultra low drag bullet like alco could compete with a 6.5 creedmore and you would have thought he had been gut shot! Couldn't take it! Lol! Whatever I like the 308 win.
Looks like that rifle is shooting about 1 MOA, maybe a little less. At a mile, to have shots no farther than about 24 inches from each other, on average, is very well done. In fact, that is usable to a military sniper, though they usually do not shoot that far. Also, people can poop all over the .308 Win but it gets the job done if used correctly. Nicholas Irving was in the 3rd Ranger Battalion 75th Ranger Regiment and got 33 confirmed kills in one deployment. Just to be clear, he engaged the enemy more times than that. But there were 33 enemy agents he could identify with evidence gathered later to confirm identity. And he carried the Knight Arms SR-25, also known in the Army as the Mk 22 Mod 0. and it shoots 7.62X51mm NATO, also known as .308 Win. So, it has always been effective. In fact, the MRAD developed for SOCOM has 3 barrels and parts. .308 Win, .300 Norma, and .338 Norma Mag. So, the military still has lots of use for .308 W regardless of the latest excitement over some of the wildcat rounds, like 6.5 Creedmoor, et al.
That was a load of fun to watch. I shoot both 6.5 Creedmoor and .308 Win. Just curios. Did I miss something? What's the twist on that .308 barrel? 1:10, or something slightly faster?
That's impressive shooting, love your vids thanks. Could you tell us more about your target cam set up? Are you using 5.8 ghz FPV? I'm trying to set one up for myself.
Absolutely thank-you here's the video of my target cam. In the decription of the video are affiliated links to everything I bought. I suggest getting the ROTGO1 pro receiver and use Android app "USB Camera" if you want sound transmission (its ac frequency so white noise background just turn down the volume youll still hear impacts) ruclips.net/video/IA_mkJW7Tfs/видео.html
Try the 212 grain eldx its probably the heaviest you can shoot in a 308 it’s bc is 663 the 6.5 147 grain has a bc of 697 so the are somewhat comparable great video!
Secretly the 3006 is like tied with 1st in my book for fav haha. Dude thats awesome. I always wanted to try a McGowen. Im thinking of getting a Rem in 3006
200 gr at 2800 out of a .308 is fuckin TOASTY. I don't know how you are getting that velocity while staying within recommended charge weights of reloader 17 from any manual.
Great video Ken and some impressive results from a .308 for sure. Good stuff!!!!
Thanks brother! Just saw you throw a SUB MOA arrow group haha that was cool👍 Never thought they can be more accurate than pistols
Kick ass Kenny! You were really damn close on a lot of those. I know how it is to spot impacts by yourself. Great work dude!
Thanks man! Definitely a challenge in the mirage.

30 cal doesn't need a super fast twist like smaller calibers, because it has shorter bullets
The Mile Fly Club with Captain Kenny at the helm. Nice work!
Hhaaaha!
How did you get a 200gr 308 bullet the same speed as a 6.5 creedmoor??
That was impressive. At first I had my doubts but clearly the heavier the bullet the better it's going to perform especially in the wind. The opposite is equally true as well. I had the great fortune to shoot 6.5C 147 ELD M out to 1 mile in Wyoming back at the end of September. I hit 3/10 and my misses were a little wider of the target than your .308 misses. When they say it can't be done, do it to spite them. Awesome work, Kenny! Hot damn! 🔥🔥🔥
Damn impressive to me! You had it shivering for sure!
4AW just recently had a video demonstrating the barrel "bounce" when shooting on a padded shooting mat... very informative
Great job Mr. Kenny I can’t wait to see what you come up with next
Thanks Willie. You know whats next hehe 😉

@@EagleEyeShooting ; DMI , You deserve a pat on the back ! Would be nice if it was more profitable for ya ' too .
Yes. Very impressive.
Hi Great video. How much barrel do you have there ? 28" 32" ?? 1:10 twist rate ?? Thank you
Another great video bud. Your really testing the limits and getting great results.
Hey brother! Thanks man. Ill get out there and try this against my 6.5CM
Amazing getting so close at 1800 yds, with .308. Long distance shooting fascinating.
I’m sorry did I hear 2800 with a 200gr bullet?
Great job!
I've been wanting to try these Bergers. They're impossible to find at the moment.

Nice job Kenny... nice job on the reloading... to me them rounds were shining
Thanks brother! Yeah I wish I did it more justice
You shot them in the knee cap - great shooting

@@EagleEyeShooting thank you for the reply , mine is not only on the neck but all over the case is that ok?
It's hard to judge what is going on. Fouling should not appear on the case body unless your running suppressed
Yeah im running suppress
That is awesome! Great job!
Thanks! Hope all is well. Son loves your fishing videos
@@EagleEyeShooting that is awesome my friend. We have a bunch of new ones coming soon.

I would not want to be anywhere near that hill great shooting Kenny !!!!
Awesome videos
Very impressive.
Good stuff Kenny👍🏻😬
Good work sir....Good stuff....
I’m testing this bullet in a 300 PRC currently. Definitely loving it, and I’ve made impacts at 1,840 myself.
Your misses are closer than I could ever dream of getting close 🤣. Great video 👍🇺🇸
Did you chronograph your bullet velocity? 😊
Interesting , I was thinking about bumping up the weight of my 308 Projectiles as well. I’m currently running a 178, I think I might go with 195 now.

Nice shooting. Way beyond what that bullet is designed for. That's what we use in F class and is the top choice for 1,000 yard matches.
Awesome. Is it worth tipping these bullets? I noticed a quite a bit of BC deviation using the Oehler
Do you know if that version of strelok has the Athlon aries scope in it
It does. It goes by the reticle type in search. The Athlon Ares is a APLR3 FFP IR. It has it in both mil and moa
@@EagleEyeShooting ok thank. Are you using the strelok pro
Yes. Its worth every penny
@@EagleEyeShooting ok great! Cause i didnt see the reticle on the free one...
That's impressive nice rifle to can I ask what kind it is
It's a Mossberg 100atr with a custom douglas barrel
@@EagleEyeShooting Thank you I just bought a Winchester xpr Long Range I like it a lot yours really nice would like to get a different barrel on mone
I rebarrel lots of rifles, check out DPGunworks.com. hit us up for a quote

Man, I love that you’re shooting through the SWFA mil-quad retical! I’m running the 16x42. What are your thoughts on it?
Nice job Kenny!!! Have you tried the Sierra 168gr HPBT MK at that range?🤔
I did. They fell apart around 1500 yards.. I think if they where tipped it would work better
Good shooting thanks for sharing.
What is your velocity spread on those rounds and I’ve been trying to load something similar 212 ELDX any suggestions on a starting point with reloadEd’s 17.
SD's around 7. No clue where to start for a 212. Thats a more ogivey bullet and will take up more case room

200 grain bullets going almost 2800 fts. Fake news.
I'm surprised that the bullet was staying stable in a 12 twist.
That's a fairly long barrel length so i'd say it has enough twist over that length, If it was a shorter barrel we'd probably see destabilization
That’s awesome for a 308 do you collect all the bullets on that hill?
I try to. But i think they bounce off over. I haven't seen much on that hill
