The new Saturday morning cartoons! Love the background info/history lesson on the game before the play through. Keep up the awesome work, hope the channel continues to grow. LET THE ADS PLAY FOR AT LEAST 30 SECONDS TO HELP GROW THE CHANNEL!
Man! I remember playing this game back when my dad had no eyesight problems, as he is a fan of all things military. Many deaths on those damn pit-traps, and on the infernal side scrolling sections... I had no idea you coud destroy electric water sensors... damn! those were tough. I got to Big Boss but didn´t manage to defeat him back in the day... thanks a lot for this fantastic walk down memory lane
I LOVED this game when I was a kid. When I was in the Marines me and my buddies that played this game had a inside joke about watching out for the hidden pit traps when ever we walked into a warehouse on base. And yeah funny how Snake went from Kyle Reese from Terminator in MGS1 to Arnold in Commando for Snakes Revenge.
I'm into videogames since my parents gifted me an NES back in 1990. Yet, I'm amazed how you cover games I never knew existed. Love your channel, I'm glad I found it back when you have 30k subs. Seeing it grow to 63k is very satisfying. Let's celebrate when you hit 100k!!!
“If you might need rations or ammo, you might want to punch the guards rather than stabbing them” - I didn’t expect to find life advice on this channel!
Would absolutely love to see a UCBVG episode on Solstice! I can even imagine the famous intro.....but what if I told you where to find all the potions and extra lives hidden throughout the game? What if I told you how to navigate your way through all 250 rooms of the fortress Kastlerock? And what if I told you how to find all 6 pieces of the staff of Demnos in order to defeat the evil Baron Morbius?
I loved the side scrolling parts of this game with the larger sprites and the music changes. It felt like getting 2 games in 1. Plus that ending music and story were so dramatic.
I got this game as a kid at a garage sale for 50 cents, I hated this game so much because I couldn’t get past the very first part. Today with your help I beat both metal gear games on the NES and closed a 35 year old unfinished chapter of my life. Thank you.
What I love the most about your videos is the format and the pace. I love the little bit of history and pointing out silly “misses” like bugs, bad thought process by the developers or “lost in translation” things.
Metal Gear 2 on the MSX is one of my favorite games of all time. In fact my icon is an MS Paint illustration of the Foxhound logo from that game. Might do another RUclips playthrough of it sometime. It's actually so good.
"Like a sign you may see in a gentleman's club. DO NOT TOUCH THE HOLES." *Coughs* First there was Mega Man 2 and the Wily Pharma Wood Man, Then there was Mega Man 3 and The Wily Pictures Hard Man, now there's the Snake's holes! Nice to see a theme progressing!
YES ! My man is back with another bandwith-blasting video - this was one of the first games I rented after moving to 🇨🇦. It kicked my arse up and down the street !
Hey bro we need more than 1 episode a week to satisfy my fix of gaming. U should Do sega as a 2nd show for like a Tuesday or Wednesday show. I want nothing 4 the idea just seeing it comes alive n b successful is enough for me. Love this vid. Metal gear is 1 of my fave
Well start paying the man and buying his merch and spreading the word about his channel to help it grow..then he can do it full time! I'm sure it takes a lot of time to put it all together-we don't see the editing process and the other stuff that goes into making the videos
this is great. I would be curious if you ever thought of doing other retro consoles like SNES or Sega? Keep the videos coming man. I've enjoyed each one so far :)
You would think so since it isn’t called U can beat NES games. I keep asking for PC Engine games too. I’m guessing he’s on a mission to cover all of the popular challenging NES titles before he does anything else.
Hey I gotta give you so much respect on playing this game. This is like one of my all time favorite NES games to pick up and play. I loved the history lesson and you taught me about like three different things, to do to attack certain enemies. This was an excellent walkthrough and in my opinion the best walkthrough of RUclips. I freaking love it!!!😄 keep making more please. 😀✌
UCBVG, thanks for making this guide! I plan on beating this soon. Metal Gear was fun and your guide was great but one thing that sticks out to me is just how much better this game is quality wise. I'm really looking forward to it. Thanks again!!
Oh Snake's Revenge, I remember hearing about and seeing this game in a sort of "Angry Nerd Review" show that wasn't AVGN or like he was called in the early times of RUclips Angry Nintendo Nerd. I miss that guy. It's cool to see you do a full playthrough of this. Love it.
man i loved the metal gear games on the nes, so many fond memories, and some not so fond lol. I got to the end of metal gear but didnt know what to do so i gave up when i was a kid, snakes revenge i never got the chance to beat it
One game I'd love to see covered is Princess Tomato in the Salad Kingdom. I feel like it doesn't get as much praise as it deserves and it can be unnecessarily obtuse at times. Thanks so much for all the great videos!
I remember playing this game a lot. I was never able to defeat big boss and now I know why. After old these years, I cannot believe that 15 Y/O me missed that important clue from nick! Never in my life did it ocurred to me to leave the room. Thanks for the tip though. I will keep it mind next time I play Snake's revenge!
Glad you're giving this underrated game some love. Much like Metroid 2 I think this game gets unfair criticism for not being as good as what came after. This game was definitely an improvement over the Nes version of Metal Gear.
Interesting to see that despite this game not being canon, it actually introduced a lot of things that showed up later in the Metal Gear Solid games. Non-lethal takedowns granting items, the 02 meter, enemy interrogation. Not even the official Metal Gear 2 had most of that stuff.
On a side note, the transceiver has a tracker mode where says to find things at a few points of the game. The most notable is the boat when it's sinking, once you're on the top deck it says where to go. Unlike the original Metal Gear, Snake's revenge isn't remotely as obtuse with how proceed once you get going. I believe it also works when you're looking for John Turner on the train, and where to go to use the smoke bomb at the end of the game. Usually if there's a timer, the game doesn't leave you high and dry.
Still loving all your videos. I'm working on transcribing them into written guides (for personal use) so I can take my time getting through the longer games like Crystalis and The Legend of Zelda. Thank you for making my gaming dreams (beating them) come true! Would love to see a Werewolf video in the future!
One of the most truly complex of the Nintendo original box games, and one of the relatively few Metal Gear games that was made without Kojima's involvement (though members of the MSX metal-gear-DEV unit were present).
This is much better than I expected. I see some new ideas of this game being present in much later Metal Gear games. But it's still a what-if scenario, which is more like a Commando type of game, than what we got from Kojima and what defined the series.
One of my favorite game because I loved the original (Well NES version) of MG game, the game feel a bit different than the original one, and it took me many years to realized Kojima never had anything to do with this game. Also when playing MGS for the playstation and reading the synopsis, I was confused why none of the characters was mentioned from this game... later realized the MGS follow the MSX version instead. I got the Euro version and I find it weird back then why Snake was holding his fist up. Turn out to be the censorship... also they sneakily lowered Jennifers low cut cleavage art and instead we don't get to see her cleavage
26:12 i tried everything on this boat. Finding doors, finding hiding places, blowing up barrels or walls inside and outside rooms. So i give up. Thanks for this help. I was legit stuck on this boat for a long time
49;50 I just used claymore mines to kill John. Staying on his side of the trap pit, and planting them repeatedly, lay and detonate. Yes you take more damage but the battle takes far less time.
I’ve never played this game .. I was never a fan of the NES metal gear game but this game looks way better and I like the music . And again … another great review !! Can’t wait to see what’s next !!
I remember getting to the very end of the game and never being able to figure out how to get past that locked door. Cryptic solutions to puzzles indeed.
What if I told YOU that this channel is very fast becoming my favorite Retro game channel.
I'd say......awllllllllright
Yea its awesome. He does a quick review history on it and walks through too 3 in 1

New U Can Beat Video Games is the highlight of my week! Thanks for the consistent top tier content, I don't know how you do it
“If you might need rations or ammo, you might want to punch the guards rather than stabbing them” - I didn’t expect to find life advice on this channel!

@@UCanBeatVideoGames did you defeat " tmnt-3" ? ? if you did I can't find your video , , ,

I would love to see him do a video on solstice. I could never finish it as a kid.
Solstice is still an underreviewed game. people have talked to death about the same games, but Solstice still remains barely touched
I loved the side scrolling parts of this game with the larger sprites and the music changes. It felt like getting 2 games in 1. Plus that ending music and story were so dramatic.
I love when you say "All right!" after the basic review at the beginning, hahaha.
Me too lol

Thank you for motivating us to be more active on our content. Love your stuff! :)
Snake's Revenge gave me Montezuma's Revenge.
You have no idea how much your videos help me relax. Thanks so much for the memories and the detail to your content!
I was obsessed with this game as a kid. Metal gear was a total paradigm shift for the nes, and the sequel was a dream come true for me!
Great choice. Started watching the episodes with my son. Great addition to Saturdays!

First bayou Billy and now Snake's Revenge! Absolute mad lad!
I saw a copy of this Friday afternoon at my local independent game store The Gamemasters Realm
Can't wait for Werewolf: The Last Warrior. That game was hard AF.

He has already done a game for another console: Super Star Wars for the SNES. So I'm guessing we'll eventually see more SNES games at the very least.
My best friend and I got to the last boss in this when we rented it one weekend…we could not beat him!

Snake's Revenge proves that Konami actually could produce a decent Metal Gear title without Hideo Kojima. All they would have to do is actually try.
It also proves they've always hated Kojima and stabbed him in the back.
@@autobotstarscream765 It's sad, but true.
@@autobotstarscream765 When you want a game on time and not on a bloated budget, you do it without Kojima.
