Another great video. Pigs would be more worth while if they didnt breed 1:1 but say 1:8 as in real life (typically 8 piglets, some times more sometimes less depends on the breed). Same pricipal could be applied to sheep and chickens. I think the animals in FS have a lot of room for gameplay improvement.
The silo extensions, can they connect to multiple pens? Because one thing I can definitely see being handy is there being one big manure tip for all of the cow barns and pigstys in an area.
I asked the same question and I wonder if this is the reason why the animal menu does not show manure as this would be displayed as a group in the manure extensions
I was gonna ask the same thing. I'm confused o why they would do that other than for that reason. Much like the bee hives pallet point. Maybe its central to the farm. Not sure if you need seperate ones for cows and pigs but surely if you had multiple of the same they should all go in the same spot.
A well looked after sow, can have two litters of 10 a year. This insistence on a 1:1 ratio for breeding is a massive step back from reality from what we had with seasons.
Love the guide, I kinda like that the barn capacity dictates the feed level, makes planning a whole lot easier of you didn't use pig food pallets. I do agree with some of the comments about needing to tweak birthing rates to each animal to reflect a bit more realistic, but i think that the different reproduction ages helps it a little.
Definitely appreciate the guide, MrSealyP, some useful info there especially about how to obtain the manure! If I'm honest I'd have to say that overall I'm pretty disappointed with how animals in FS22 have turned out, they have definitely made some improvements particularly in the visual department but mechanically if you will it seems like a step backwards. Not just from the FS19 Seasons mod, which I mentioned before has kind of spoilt us somewhat, but even from the basegame animals of FS19 and that's where they're a let down to me. Hopefully this is something they'll work on and improve, if not them then the modders no doubt will, but right now animals definitely feel somewhat bland and generic sadly. Thank you for taking time to do all these guides though, my friend, it is much appreciated!
MrSealyP, another great video that gives us a good insight to pigs. I see two possible revenue streams with pigs. If the newborn pigs are sold right away, it is in essence pure profit. 20 x 94 = $1880. The other method might be keeping the animals until they reach maximum price. It is very similiar to how pigs were implemented in Seasons for FS 19. If you stagger purchases, there will be a rolling number of births for instant sale, while the breeding stock is kept constant until they are possibly sold when they reach maximum price. It lets farmers tailor the operation as suits them.
If you want to grow your own pig food, I did a test on the ratio to plant/seed, assuming you are using the same field width, for each 1x3m row of Sugarbeat, seed 26x3m Barley, 34x3m Canola, 61x3m Sorghum, the Barley Straw will be more than enough for what you need. You can use the 6m and 12m seeders to do less passes, but that is the ratio. I used Sorghum instead of Corn so all crops use the same header. Also if you use the pull behind root harvesters you have to use narrow tyres if crop destruction is on.
So, seems like buying a couple every month, for four months, rather than a bunch at the start, ends up with a nice rolling birth rate every month. You can sell the oldest ones, or whatever every month as well. Smoothing out the earnings, instead of all at once, also helps with shipping logistics if you are trucking them yourself.
Hey Mr.SealyP! Completely irrelevant to this video but i was playing earlier and noticed if you drive a tractor inside a shed/building the sound gets louder and and echos more. Its quite neat. Also, did you know you can change the width of the fertiliser spreader while its hooked up to the tractor? I didnt until earlier so thought id just point it out 😊
As I understand it, selling some of the animals off for meat is the end of the production chain in fs22. I wonder if there might be a future production chain for animals going to the bakery for various items, like beef pot pie, chicken pot pie, pigs-in-blankets, etc.
Thank you for the testing, I had no idea about the manure extension. I am in agreement with you on everyone can play the game the way they want, I don't insult anyone. Having said that, I did a test on 19 and realized the soybean used is only 20%, so using the selling prices on the map at the time I was doing it (prices change constantly) but I found not much of a difference. The other feed items being lower in price gave me a total of $878 for 1000 liters of pig food. (my soybean was only $1500 not the 1800 you have now.) Of course you would have to figure in fertilizer and tying up field to plant it. But you will be planting wheat just to get the straw anyway. So my point is it really doesn't make a big difference either way, people can play the way they want as you say. Thank you again for helping with explaining how the pigs work.
Playing FS22 on PS5 makes FS19 look like PacMan. I can only imagine the quality of maps that will come out over time considering how good the base maps are.
I know this isn’t about the piggies. But have you seen the tree saplings under pallets? You can now select the species of tree that you plant! Mind blown! So many little changes and quality of life fixes in FS22. Really very impressed by Giants attention to detail in this release. It was well worth the delay
I only recently played FS 22 and had pigs, it was a real shock, FS 19 had it much better on pig pens, not happy with a lot of improvements, don't seem better changes.
What would have happened had you dumped corn or sorghum in first rather than blended pig food? Would you fill up the total with nothing but base food and then have no room for grains, proteins, or crops? It's weird seeing the total at 100% and in the green and the other individual bars in red or yellow. I'm used to being able to fill all those individual bars to 100% green.
MrSealyP I must totally disagree with you on the no mess to clean up being a step backwards it's actually a major step forward a big upgrade across all animals so far also I like the direction they seem to be going with no deaths way to go Giants!
I think the mess was a really cool part of gameplay and made it more immersive. You felt as if you were actually doing something to influence their well being and there was a mod to remove it. I think it should have been left but it should have been added to the options menu as it kept me going to check on the animals rather then just looking at the menu and delivering feed.
Your guide to video's are priceless, thanks for all your efforts, having watched all your guide to video's, i can only guess that there will be a large update on the way, thanks for posting 👍 👏 👏 👍 😁
Great video! Do you get an issue with pigs and sheep when you turn to in cabin view and pass around animals they make extremely loud noice. First time that happen to me my heart skipped couple beats ☺️ I am on console. Just interested to know if everyone is experiencing this issue. Thanks!
Great Vid as always Mr SP. I was wondering if you were able to figure out if that Manure pit is collecting the manure from all the pig pens on the farm or just the one closest to it?
Hi sealy p. How's things for you. Glad to see ya back . Joey from Ireland here . Totally enjoying new game. Xbox one. Couldn't afford the seasons pass but it's all good 👌 😌. Hello to the missus. Joey
You should be a teacher mrsealyp if you ever fancy a career change 😉🤣😂 these guides are just so well put together. Thank you for taking us on your FS22 journey with you.
That's a bit of an obscure design decision re. the manure. Historically in FS an "extension" has been used to increase the capacity of an existing silo, but hey ho. Thanks to you, and to Jeremy, for the tip.
I used one of the simplified seasons geos on fs19 and was disappointed that it took away the cleanliness option, after a few days of not having to clean them though it stopped bothering me 😆 I always liked pigs, and it looks like there won’t be any completely unpredictable birth rates where you could get up to 10 births per pig. While it was nice, it also meant you couldn’t plan feed stocks. One thing I am curious with the manure extension, it has an icon next to it that looks like the loading icon on the slurry tank. Does this mean that you don’t need to manually empty the silo with a wheel loader anymore?
I am so stupidly new to this game I am afraid I need to ask some REALLY basic questions. How do you get the manure and slurry out of the pens. Also what can I use the manure and slurry for? Can I put it on my fields instead of fertilizer? I am sort of thinking pigs might be good to replace purchased fertilizer while making a little money on the side selling the excess animals.
Loving the guides mate great wholesome quality as always. And also im finding add the maximum wieght option to trailers adds some more depth too. It may say 30000 litres but you may not be able to take that due to weight. Ps anyone here know how to turn lights on in barns that have them in the ceiling.
Just a thought - it could be possible that the lights don’t have any on/off light switch, but instead, perhaps, they’re made to automatically turn on in the evenings and turn off when morning comes.
Keep your head up big guy and you do you your videos are spot on and everyone has the right to rant. Personally I love them lol reminds me of me haha. Get well we are praying for you and the family.
Is their not a lake or stream on the map? I haven't tried all the new maps so I'm not sure but you can get water from any lake or stream if you put the water trailer next to it you get the option to refill and it's free water.
Zetor z25 came with season pass. So far ive found free water on any standing water sources on the map deep enough to get the tank in...lakes, ponds, and rivers The dog roams the entire map now too lol nevermind in 19 it stayed close to the dog house. Any idea of the range of the manure silo extension? Do we need one for each critter type (cows, sheep, pig, etc.) Or will 1 do for all if it can be placed in range?
mr sp bro those small container rooms are where you stock the food i think i saw it in another video that you place like the food there and then you have those snow kinda like thingi you scoop it up and give it to them its small food storage
Looking at the numbers is the 34000 split Into rough figures for the effectiveness 17000 for base 50% and so on and can the manure extensions be placed in between two pens or do you need one each
Thank you very much, MrSealyP, for this excellent guide! You are amazing with all of the time & effort that you put into these helpful guides - and covering things in such detail - making things so much easier to understand. I’ve enjoyed each & every ‘guide’ video that you’ve shared about FS22, & appreciate all of your time & effort you take to provide detailed guides. Thanks so very much, MrSealyP! :-)
hi mr p thank you for the great video could you advise me how to reset snow ive switched to playing without snow but it hasent all gone im on pc thank you in advance
Does the feed have to be the correct percentages? Or will you be at 100% effectiveness as long as the pigs have all the needed food types? It just seems like landing these crops on the EXACT percent's would be a challenge. TIA -R
I don't know if anybody else has this problem but I put down two of the large pigstys and the triggers don't work. Triggers worked fine on the medium-sized one. This is on console.
Most players just used the mod that always keeper the pens clean cause it is just stupid to have to pick the food back up and put it back into the food supply.
or go back and forth with the lizard conveyor to pick it up...who has the time :). I think it is an improvement, less time cleaning, more time thinking about when to sell/move the animals
If you really like to Work with Pigs in the LS22,create a Pasteure and a large Housing.Grow 30 "young"Pigs in the Pasteure until they are adults and bring thenm to the Housing until they bread! Now back to the Pasteure with the "newborn" and then repeat the cycle.I would do it that way,to see, which pigs are old and for selling. My opinion, but we all have a diffrent stil to play games.😁Good, day and wishes for your Farm!
I placed a Silage bunker down and all was great until the second year where I had more grass to put in but it wouldn't let me remove the last bit of Silage so I couldn't start a new harvest. I've also had a sinkhole appear near the barn... This game is wonderfully broken as yet on xbox one. I've no doubt they will patch these but still a tad frustrating.
Was watching your video with my son and the new resident evil trailer popped up. If any way you could make your advertisement setting a little more family friendly that would be much appreciated.
Where is the slurry going? I see about 36k L of slurry, does this get picked up directly from the pen itself? I would have expected that you wouldn't need the manure expansion unless you were running low on slurry...but this is a bit puzzling to me. I'm sure the answer is simple.
Hey my friend i was wondering since animals run around looking more lively now can we place collision gates around them like a personal open pin play area, unless the in game gates and fences are collision free as well. I should have stayed on that island were you left me now I'm here on fs22 excited and confused lol
Landrace pigs are excellent for big hams and a mild taste... Berkshire has a better meat substance, less fat and is a clean living pig, they prefer clean pens. Hampshire, missing from the game are black with a white band on their shoulder over their back. They have a nicer loin are filthy living and are more active in large pens. They will bite the crap out of you and eat anything, even crows who are too slow. I saw one grab a crow off of the fence around their pen as a kid... my grandfather raised pigs later in his life. He retired from politics and named his pigs after Democrats. I never understood it until I found out they were people in his party that voted against the bills he introduced or endorsed. He did have one he named Adolph that was huge. I think that was personal because my grandparents met after they were both released from camps during ww2.
Hey MR SP is it just me having massive issues with year one season pass on ps5 as I've bought it and can't access any of the contents Can you help cheers mate
An European animal trailer as well as one to fit on tractors is soooo needed. The Silverstar looks cool, but only on the American map and behind a long-nose truck. It doesn't work on Erlengrad and Haut-Beleron and neither with a dolly. It was done right with the horse trailers, one for EU-style one for US-style. Why not with trailers for the other animals?
Really looking forward to the horse guide. Been raising five for several months and they really don't seem to be worth the effort. Wondering if I'm doing something wrong, or if they get a lot more valuable later.
Hi mr.sealyp and farmers! This not have nothing to do whit pigs but I was exploring elmcreek map and I found out that fs22 have collectibles. Is like the gold but whit farming equipment toys, I found a Tractor, a harvester, a plow, a seeder, a water tank, and a horse... I dont know if there are more types of collectibles but these are the ones I found. There are 10 of each one and for everyone you pick it gives you 1k, I dont know what happens when you found 10. I just wanted to tell this for those that dont know, have a nice day!!!
There are ten of each colour, and ten types. When you collect either all of one colour or all of each type (can’t remember which) you get a 100k bonus. Works out at a million for all of them. Some are in some very odd places and you have to get quite creative to collect them.
Hey MrSealyP! Is there any chance to do economy guide and price fluctuation? Game doesnt explain how prices works and when exactly sell crops for the best profits and how to read season price diagrams… i want to get rich in this game in the best way possible but dont want to use exploit or cheats :)
If you look on the economy page, when you select an item, like wheat for example, on the bottom of the screen it will show ‘fluctuations’ so if you press the button it shows it will then show you a graph showing the changes month to month.
@@raspingrabbit2379 i know that but still this graphs for me could be interpratated in many ways :) And when u turn the view of fluctuation graph (this green and red bars) what this white horizontal bar means? (When u switch crops type u can see that this bar is sometimes higher and lower). As I told - for me is unclear in many ways without good guide from somebody who knows stuff cause Devs didnt put any hints how should i read this all fluctuation bars :)
With pig food there is no profit. You lose money. I also find it debatable whether it's easier, running back to the shop and filling one bag at a time is a real pain. Probably just better all around to do your own crops for feeding. Only thing I didn't check with pig feed is if manure would help you break even or turn a profit. I did loads of testing with the pig food all lost money and each way was a slow miserable grind to an inevitable death.
Great video sir for me I really think fs22 is better than 19 in so many ways but I really wish seasons was as well thought out as the modded seasons in 19 as it was far more realistic. Maybe a update coming to fix this with some other bugs would be great. But in general I really feel they have added so much more with this game if a fs comes out every 3 years from now on and they can move forward like this every time I’m a happy man
Good video again Sir 👍👍... Purchased this today with massive excitement but must say I'm a little disappointed with it so far.. For every step forward it's made there seems to be one step backwards as well. I do like the collectables though. It makes you explore that bit more
my dad breed pigs at the old coal yard when he worked as a coal man made pig runs on strips of land by the railway n kept them in the railway station as there were big rooms my grand dad had a farm now my 2 uncals run it they done pigs horse now sure think they had cattle was an 100acre farm thats not a huge farm now adays but was back then in the 40s they ran alot of old massey fergusons the masseys are decent tractors
awesome video MrSealyp it's a shame what you get from pigs, chicks on the other hand are gold mines in this game, i understand sheep don't profit much because you feed them with just grass or hay.
tbh I wish you didn't need to muck out and clean up after them irl...though i might be out of a job if they did. Disappointing to see that be removed. Horses still need to be cleaned after riding though.
Another great video. Pigs would be more worth while if they didnt breed 1:1 but say 1:8 as in real life (typically 8 piglets, some times more sometimes less depends on the breed). It will be great once they fix all of the really dumb mistakes and issues. So far they haven't fixed anything. Even from the beta.
Apparently some of the saplings won't grow beyond a certain stage at the moment.
great guide, the pen you let run out of food and water appeared to decrease in price so maybe a consequence of neglect
I think I liked the reproduction of the pigs on the mod for 19 better. You could get 10 new pigs per breeder and it was much more realistic

It's just lazy dev design. Taking the simulation out of the game and making it more arcade for the simpletons
I think it's a little bit weird that you only get one pig per reproductive cycle, pigs give birth to litters.

It sounds like you may want to use reg crops to feed your pigs first for all the cheap crops and then get pig food for the expensive crops.
Brilliant guide videos as always.

Great video! On Xbox you can access construction mode with L1 and the button opposite of the options button.
Those pigs are running off their fat! Lol! Great video Glad that you are doing these series!
Hey do you know if the manure pit will cover more than one sty or is it one to one
The big bag handling equipment is bugged at the moment. Though you can use pallet forks to lift the big bags with no issues.

Where you need to place the manure pit i cant get it tooo work
Can you not get manure from the open pens because they do get straw or do you get it because it's all grass
I watched nearly guide to animals must say gaints been very busy animals are every improved
Anyone know if you could use that silo extension on horses to get manure or is it just for pigs and cows.
Can you mix breed the pigs and create hybrids?
The manure system can the make it connect to the pens so it's more realistic.
what is the cap on animal pens on the map?
thank you for the video. When should I sell the pigs? Do pigs die when they get old?
If you really like to Work with Pigs in the LS22,create a Pasteure and a large Housing.Grow 30 "young"Pigs in the Pasteure until they are adults and bring thenm to the Housing until they bread! Now back to the Pasteure with the "newborn" and then repeat the cycle.I would do it that way,to see, which pigs are old and for selling. My opinion, but we all have a diffrent stil to play games.😁Good, day and wishes for your Farm!
is it a glich when pigs run around outside the pens? mine does after i boughed them :P
Where do I get that straw thijg can't find it
Can unused pig feed be sold back?
I placed a Silage bunker down and all was great until the second year where I had more grass to put in but it wouldn't let me remove the last bit of Silage so I couldn't start a new harvest. I've also had a sinkhole appear near the barn... This game is wonderfully broken as yet on xbox one. I've no doubt they will patch these but still a tad frustrating.
Top notch tutorial videos
Was watching your video with my son and the new resident evil trailer popped up. If any way you could make your advertisement setting a little more family friendly that would be much appreciated.
Where is the slurry going? I see about 36k L of slurry, does this get picked up directly from the pen itself? I would have expected that you wouldn't need the manure expansion unless you were running low on slurry...but this is a bit puzzling to me. I'm sure the answer is simple.
I hope to get into livestock soon. I just saw the silo king on the used market but I’m a long way off from being able to use it.
The new buy everything silo mod made feeding the gluttonous oinkers.
The large pig stye (270) with 135 mature pigs can hold 85k liters of pig food
Hey my friend i was wondering since animals run around looking more lively now can we place collision gates around them like a personal open pin play area, unless the in game gates and fences are collision free as well. I should have stayed on that island were you left me now I'm here on fs22 excited and confused lol
Another great guide to video as always
I have an idea, to ckeck if all the food is going down at the same amount, why don't put in 8500 of everything you will reach 34.000 total food right?
stellar job again MrSealyP! loving your vids and new FS22!
BlackSheep Modding tweeted a picture of a more modest towed animal trailer he's been working on the other day, so that's something to look forward to.
I hate cleaning up after animals. Absolutely hate every bit of it lol. It's 2021 we should have completely automated the cleaning process lol.
I think that was personal because my grandparents met after they were both released from camps during ww2.
so do you get both slurry and manure when using straw or just manure like it fs19
awesome
I always coming for you for help!
When looking at pig food should look at how much it costs too grow the product vs what it's worth too sell.
Xbox menu is L1 and view button ( select in old money)
The little pond to the right of the store is a free water source.
It makes you explore that bit more
Thankyou i now know why cow manure di not work was really annoying me.
my dad breed pigs at the old coal yard when he worked as a coal man made pig runs on strips of land by the railway n kept them in the railway station as there were big rooms my grand dad had a farm now my 2 uncals run it they done pigs horse now sure think they had cattle was an 100acre farm thats not a huge farm now adays but was back then in the 40s they ran alot of old massey fergusons the masseys are decent tractors
Did notice the stakes to the pig pens aged as you skipped through the months sir …
awesome video MrSealyp it's a shame what you get from pigs, chicks on the other hand are gold mines in this game, i understand sheep don't profit much because you feed them with just grass or hay.
Most of the harvesting jobs if not all require me to sell them via the train so no more extra crop to keep or sell. 🤷🏻♂️
The key to profit from pigs is to put the slurry & manure into a BGA.
tbh I wish you didn't need to muck out and clean up after them irl...though i might be out of a job if they did. Disappointing to see that be removed.
Horses still need to be cleaned after riding though.
Can someone tell me how to wash equipment in FS 22
Put a power washer down from the build menu
The big elm creek water tower gives free water
