Oh my, the vault! Left me speechless 😶 4 about an hour. I have the most well rounded 🎸 teacher on RUclips period. Keep enjoy playing & sharing your knowledge with beginners. Marty & everyone out there, I am glad to report I have been diligently working on Grapevine ... I am a slow learner however loving every minute of my practice. Thank you 🙏 Marty! K.L.
Hey Marty!! Can you do a video on how to play " smokin' and cryin' " by Alex Roe from the movie Forever my girl please!!! Im so desperate to learn this song and i have learnt all my songs from your video's!! ❤
Wow. This guy taught my playing guitar with his videos 10 years back, and he's still going, with the exact same enthuisasm. I'm so genuinely happy right now.
Hey Marty thanks for this video. I gave my 16 year old my prized 1994 Strat Plus Deluxe that I bought brand new back in 94, now he's subscribed to your channel and making awesome progress. Thanks for all you do, you're an inspiration to many young kids.
@@sampitts6367 i tested a 2011 mex strat with fat50s ,a 54 custom strat reissure and a 58 custom strat reissure blindfoldet und there was 0 sound difference only the neck shape was different.(thats why my friend played it not me for the sound comparison).
Ooh man Marty, I keep coming back to this awesome groove that you play at 7:26!!!! You were definitely vibing with this guitar. You should make a quick lesson for that groove by the way ;)
I am desperately trying to learn to play the guitar. I am so fortunate to have found Marty Schwartz. He is so PATIENT & very learned. Plays guitar 🎸 both right AND left handed. Here’s to you, Marty. Thank you 🙏 for your tutorials. Invaluable. K L
This will definitely date me. The Don Rich Telecaster already started to have that gold look when he played with Buck Owen's on Hee Haw. I remember thinking they both harmonized so well when singing together. I was in High School when Don Rich passed. RIP guys. You were two of the greatest country stars that ever lived! Great video! I really enjoyed it!
I'm probably too amateurish to appreciate the sounds of all these guitars but I imagine it's an absolute dream for every guitar players in the world to see, hold and most of all, play guitars from the collection in this vault.
Absolutely LOVE these guitar tours...especially for someone like me that has a deep love for guitars yet doesn't get to get out & see these places in person, it still allows me to "live" thru these times vicariously thru you & others. Thank you again Marty
OK Marty! It’s finally time to make that 46 hour video! Go through every guitar there and I’ll watch the whole thing. I have got to visit that place! Getting to play Don Rich’s telecaster. How cool is that? Lovin the guitar tours videos! And I don’t know what it is, but your playing sounds great in this video! I don’t know who Gillie was but he sure had a nice sounding guitar! Stop me! I’m babbling! An effect I’m sure this museum has on a lot of people.
I'm super grateful Dave took the time to let us have not only a glimpse of the museum, but to experience an unreal sampling of '50s Fenders...and Don Rich's '66 Tele! A little surprised by Marty's lack of basic Fender knowledge, but Dave graciously filled in the blanks. Footnote: bridge pickups aren't just for country...
I love pretty much every guitar brand. PRS, Jackson, Gibson etc. However...when you pick up a Fender, that was made on a good day, buy a good worker, when the planets were aligned... It's a special treat indeed. A good Strat, well loved, worn in, is all you need in life!!!
Closed to the public now, or so i heard. I also heard Rick B donated 2 x 1 million dollar Explorers or Firebirds to the museum. I use the term donate assumingly.
I heard a song the other day that would be great to do a tutorial on. Gunslinger by Avenged Sevenfold. You could do an easier version and then break down the actual version. Break out the acoustic and let ‘er rip
I love Marty...ever since his old lesson showcases ive been hooked...the every man player, ive learned a lot over the years...THANK YOU FOR THE INSPIRATION
Actually you're wrong Marty about Bob Wills guitarists using mostly treble pickup and open 3 chord twang tone. Most were advanced jazz players mimicking jazz boxes playing jazz progressions and runs. Definitely not simple.blues pentatonics. Eldon Shamblin of course got his Strat from Leo early on. Enjoyed the video though. That's my 57 Sherwood green Strat in the profile pic.
I stopped in songbirds last spring they have an amazing collection, if you like old guitars and amps, basses. You need to go check them out. I spent 2 hours in there walking around. Greatest collection ive ever seen. Fenders are my favorite guitars but i also have a love for les paul Jr's. I just love a light all mahogany guitar for those rock sounds. They have some beautiful gibsons 2.
WOW!!! WOW!!! WOW!!! Leo Fender is probably the best inventor of all time especially considering he DIDN'T PLAY GUITAR!!! Listening to these old guitars proves to me that the stratocaster is better sounding than the telecaster.
You need to check out Dave's Guitar Shop in La Crosse WI. It'll blow your mind. The upstairs collection/museum is insane. Apparently Clapton was interested in a rare strat but Dave couldn't part with it.
A lot of classic rock or 'dad rock' songs from the 1980s and even 1970s is composed of relatively easy chords and notes. It can be quite easy to pick up and play, but also makes you feel like a rock god;) I recently learnt Aerosmiths 'sweet emotion' song in about half an hour or so and it feels really satisfying to play!
Comfortably numb solo, and pink Floyd in general. I'm 7 months in and I learned the whole solo, it's so fun to play and I learned some useful music theory from that solo
Depends on: what you like, what type of player you wanna be (which can be different from 'what you like') and how fast you learn. People here have made really good suggestions, but there's lots of good stuff out there. Acdc is easy and great to rock out. Same goes for some lynyrd songs...
Love these videos Marty ! I find it semi amusing that you've played Possum on more than one of these videos with these incredible guitars . Trey would be proud......
Assuming the guitars are all in a high security vault, I wonder why the guy bothers to lock all the glass cases, or does each one have a separate alarm system installed? Although I guess if open to the public it safeguards anyone taking one out, as he said in Spinal Tap....don't touch it, actually don't even look at it.
I remember my humble beginigs in guitar world i bought mine guitar martinez classic guitar and i went on you tube and i was like man i found a teacher on youtube it was Marty thank god you emaild me it was 2010 long time ago now i have my own gigs i moved to China and iam very proud to say that Marty was my teacher from those simple chords to the hendrix embelishments thank you Marty
They invite accomplished musicians to come and spend the day playing g classic guitars. Johnny Hiland spent a day there just after it opened. Great collection
Hey, Marty, can you do more Clash songs, Sex Pistols, Ramones, REM, dead Kennedys, Buzzcocks, and please a few songs by the Jam. Paul Weller songs deserve more attention

Can anyone visit Marty?
Wow. This guy taught my playing guitar with his videos 10 years back, and he's still going, with the exact same enthuisasm. I'm so genuinely happy right now.
Thank you for ongoing support! People like you give me the positive energy to keep teaching.
He’s a legend
And with the exact same hat.
So no one is going to talk about how this man is named DAVID DAVIDSON
@De Oppresso Libtard his father's name was actually Brian Brianson
go figure
Only the stupid would focus on that.
only the stupid wouldn’t focus on that
@@itseth7792 This reminds me of a song
"Let the stupid be stupid" by Erik Erikson
Used to work with a guy named Randy Randall. Go figure

Keep guitar alive! Great story and thanks for the support
Lucky kid that’s a golden age Stratocaster
Ain't nothing like a Stratocaster
Keep doing videos like this they're great.
Man, that '54 Strat has the sound. Unbelievable the spank that comes out of that bridge pick up, Your a lucky man Marty!
Fat 50 pickups and you got the sound
I’m not sure you know what you’re talking about
@@sampitts6367 i tested a 2011 mex strat with fat50s ,a 54 custom strat reissure and a 58 custom strat reissure blindfoldet und there was 0 sound difference only the neck shape was different.(thats why my friend played it not me for the sound comparison).
fender needs to make a few more of those crushed glass tellies , so flashy and unique [and sounds fantastic]
Ooh man Marty, I keep coming back to this awesome groove that you play at 7:26!!!! You were definitely vibing with this guitar. You should make a quick lesson for that groove by the way ;)
Yeah! What song is that?? Need to learn it!
You got that amp dialed in. Perfect tone and reverb going on
You look and sound like a much more mature Jonah Hill 😂🙏🏻
I am desperately trying to learn to play the guitar.
I am so fortunate to have found Marty Schwartz. He is so PATIENT & very learned. Plays guitar 🎸 both right AND left handed.
Here’s to you, Marty. Thank you 🙏 for your tutorials. Invaluable.

No shade being thrown. You’re a talented guitarist that knows what he’s doing. 💯
never heard that before.......
Marty Music have you ever thought 💭 of interviewing the people at Manchester Music Mill in Manchester, New Hampshire, you will be amazed!
Damn they do have the same voice
This will definitely date me. The Don Rich Telecaster already started to have that gold look when he played with Buck Owen's on Hee Haw. I remember thinking they both harmonized so well when singing together. I was in High School when Don Rich passed. RIP guys. You were two of the greatest country stars that ever lived! Great video! I really enjoyed it!
Great history, Don Rich was a terrific player. Please do Buckeroo sometime.
love that glass tele
That aqua strat is very amazing and beautiful! All of these have so much value I believe!
We need a part 2 . Man nice place and guitars. Great video. More. Thanks Marty
I'm probably too amateurish to appreciate the sounds of all these guitars but I imagine it's an absolute dream for every guitar players in the world to see, hold and most of all, play guitars from the collection in this vault.
Holding Dangerous Don Rich’s Tele like it’s nothing. I would be shaking like a leaf just seeing it.
If that place is heaven, lord take me now! I hope u can do this again with Gibsons.
OMG that blues intro was so beautiful
Absolutely LOVE these guitar tours...especially for someone like me that has a deep love for guitars yet doesn't get to get out & see these places in person, it still allows me to "live" thru these times vicariously thru you & others. Thank you again Marty
Hey, I asked you last vid if you could maybe do a tutorial on Let‘s Go from Def leppard. Do you think you could do it?
Guitar Tours is my favorite! The more Marty the better!👏
I love that they play them not just lock behind glass
OK Marty! It’s finally time to make that 46 hour video! Go through every guitar there and I’ll watch the whole thing. I have got to visit that place! Getting to play Don Rich’s telecaster. David is like “are you seriously bending that priceless guitar neck out of tune rn?” at 12:27 🤣
I'm super grateful Dave took the time to let us have not only a glimpse of the museum, but to experience an unreal sampling of '50s Fenders...and Don Rich's '66 Tele! A little surprised by Marty's lack of basic Fender knowledge, but Dave graciously filled in the blanks.

Pretty sure there used to be a Songbird guitar shop in Toronto on Queen St back in the day. Wonder if it is related in any way?
0.59 Norman has left the conversation
Dave's Guitar in La Crosse, WI is pretty epic too. The entire upstairs is his personal collection and has Fender Strats from almost every year.
I’m a lefty but that wouldn’t stop me from strumming these 😂
The Don Rich and Buck teles are very impressive but Daves collection and shop is unbeatable.
12:32 Love this part!
That blue strat. WoW was a tone coming out of it.
I learned a lot from Marty when i just started playing. Now hes making great content like this. Marty's the shit!
What a great tour! Great video Marty. Any video you have teaching something like that intro lick?
13:56 the world's first explosive guitar, literally!
I love pretty much every guitar brand. PRS, Jackson, Gibson etc. However...when you pick up a Fender, that was made on a good day, buy a good worker, when the planets were aligned... It's a special treat indeed. A good Strat, well loved, worn in, is all you need in life!!!
Seriously awesome support from the museum.....but the HD detail feom your crew is amazing! Nice work Marty and team. Thank you one and all!
I went to songbirds last spring, there is some beautiful guitars and amps there we took a detour on are way to Florida, just to see them.
We went there too about the same time. It was wonderful! But I heard that they closed. Any reason?
Closed to the public now, or so i heard. I also heard Rick B donated 2 x 1 million dollar Explorers or Firebirds to the museum. I use the term donate assumingly.
Wow, just wow.
Truly nothing can play the blues better than a vintage strat
2:52. That is a beautiful instrument. So nice.
I heard a song the other day that would be great to do a tutorial on. Gunslinger by Avenged Sevenfold. You could do an easier version and then break down the actual version. Break out the acoustic and let ‘er rip

Currently looking for a strat so I can’t thank you enough for this video.
That '54 strat is sublime. No strat can beat it IMO.
And I use to think norm had awesome vintage guitars.he does but this place is amazing.
You need to check out Dave's Guitar Shop in La Crosse WI. It'll blow your mind. The upstairs collection/museum is insane. Apparently Clapton was interested in a rare strat but Dave couldn't part with it.
Great video Marty. Hats off to the owner for sharing his collection!
I can’t help but wonder if he’s a vintage amp collector as well.
What electric guitar songs do you recomend for a guy who plays guitar for almost one year ?
Please answer !
LeFREAK 19 play some Pearl Jam. They have lots of songs that are a good way to get into more intermediate playing. Check out Yellow Ledbetter.
A lot of classic rock or 'dad rock' songs from the 1980s and even 1970s is composed of relatively easy chords and notes. It can be quite easy to pick up and play, but also makes you feel like a rock god;)
I recently learnt Aerosmiths 'sweet emotion' song in about half an hour or so and it feels really satisfying to play!
Tom Petty songs are super fun. Also the Cure has a bunch of great three chord tunes. Check Marty's lessons!!
Comfortably numb solo, and pink Floyd in general. I'm 7 months in and I learned the whole solo, it's so fun to play and I learned some useful music theory from that solo

second strat sounded so so good
lovely fedner guitars.
But my eyes really were focused on those es 335's
Bleron Mehmeti gotta love a fedner
Looks like Taos Turquoise with some aging. Only offered one year and I think that year was it.
Hey Marty, another great video, some amazing sounding guitars, really liked the sound of the crushed glass tele.
So have a custom shop 56 stratocaster in that colour, it's Taos turquoise
Those old guitars are in immaculate condition!
Hi Marty! I ve got a question...
Could you make a guitar lesson for oleander-Fight! cause nobody did and i really wanna learn that song ;-;
@1:48 there's this weird Strat with metal control plate, im kind of curious
That 57 strat is amazing
Hey Marty, do you like playing acoustic or electric better?
good playing on that tele, and cool tone
That stratocaster...I'm a huge fan of blue starts.
..I own a 1960 sonic blue..but I think I rather that "aqua"
Love these videos Marty ! I find it semi amusing that you've played Possum on more than one of these videos with these incredible guitars . Trey would be proud......

I definitely have to visit this place
That first tele jam you had was fantastic
Dude. Wanted to see more variety. Needed to see an Explorer.
Marty you have to go to Wisconson to finf the greatest collection. You know that.
You probably have a lot of tutorials in line but Laidback by Rat Boy is a song there are no tutorials on. A good space in the market brother!
Can you do a big iron tutorial?
From here straight to. "Blue Jean Blues." ZZTop
Definitely want to visit this place when I'm down there.
Oh man Marty that was way too short ! I can't wait to see more ! Thanks Dave !

Holy the Blue Strat 😦 Marty just take it and run
Great interview! Thank you for making it :)
They invite accomplished musicians to come and spend the day playing g classic guitars. Johnny Hiland spent a day there just after it opened. Great collection
Well that seems pretty cool
No zippered leather jackets, EVER!!!
