Thank you So Very Much. I'm no Mechanic by any means yet was able to start and finish. The bolt behind stuck rotor helped greatly. I was afraid the rotor was going to break so I would turn rotor quarter and spray inside threads and behind rotor with free-all then give a few turns on bolt. Came off with a loud "Pop!" Thank You!
Yes, the ears caused the pad to bind up against the caliper and would keep dragging. This sometimes with after market suppliers. In fact today I got a set of sealed pads and rotors delivered from Detroit Axle (never a problem before), and all four pads have matching numbers and "ears". So they are sending out all in board pads. I'll be calling them Monday to see what's up with that.
One thing I just noticed is that your outer old brake pad with dog ears are only for the inside ( closest to motor ) do not put on outside closest to tire. Just a note for the future. Guess it helps if I read other comments first,😅 someone already mentioned this.. I'm just 3 years late. Have a great day..
thanks for the video, I'm doing my dad's F150 and needed to study up. noticed you didn't use any anti squeal grease on the back of the pads or friction parts\caliper pins, is that not needed? seen it done several different ways now and I'm a rookie 👍or is it just a preference? Thanks again !
I don't have a system set up yet but I have been considering it heavily due to all the requests lately, it will possibly be coming soon.. I try to do live streams once a week on weds or thurs this week it will be thursday.
You installed those brakes incorrectly. You didn’t use any lubricant or grease at the contact points. The squeaking that your experiencing with the previous brand new rotors and pads, are from dry sliders and pad hardware. Incorrect installation. The brakes that you just put on will be squeaking immediately.
Using that bolt trick to get the rotor off was great thank you for that
Thank you buddy. Your trick to get the rotor off was a life saver
Happy it helped 👍

The old pads (inside and outside) both have ears on them. That means they were both inside pads. Hence the uneven wear.
ill have to check that out

Yes, I noticed this also. Another great Ford design.
I noticed this right away as I had similar taking my brake pads off.
Those two bolt holes in that front rotor are for two bolts. That rotor will pop right off.

Good info thanks for giving the bolt sizes F-150 eat brakes
Very helpful. Thank you

It's mostly preference depending on if you live where they salt the roads in winter then grease is mandatory
You have the two inner side brake pads on the right side I made the same mistake.
The rotors also have jacking screw holes in between the log bolt holes
Oh ok thanks good to know 👍
thnax
I spy your previous brake job problem 3:27
FYI those bolts are actually metric.
Hey man do you have like a paid conference call kind of thing available? I seem to ALWAYS miss your live stream

Ill have to check that out thought I installed them correctly but ya no extra grease
What type orfrotors and pads did you use?
I think duralast but not sure
Through autozone
Your excessive uneven brake pad wear looks like a stuck piston
I think so far so good but I will have to keep an eye on it
Heat cycle?? WTH?? The squeaking is from the pads being installed incorrectly. They have ears on them for a reason
It was the rear brakes squeaking or making noise
I just replaced them about a month ago and it went away
