@@robin3 pub?! I thought it was bum…. Not much difference, either one have the potential for a long crazy night of fun and freakiness, with a shitty mess to clean up in the morning.
yeah gotta cost her
Being a lifelong musician, I thirst for bands like this. I grew up living and sleeping in the high school music room. My home was toxic and unsafe, so the music teacher (my mentor and same birthday as me) gave me a key to the room. I would spend my nights in there listening to mostly punk and jazz and emulating what I heard on the drum kit. I would then sleep in one of the practice rooms, zip home to make some toast or something in the morning and then back to school. Music saved my life. Left home at 18 and never went back. This band is what I’ve always loved about punk. No BS. No airbrushing of faces or music. Just music. Raw and brutally honest. I’m an old man now and still love this. She is a legend.
Discovered them, two days ago. And I am hooked.
Reminds of a lot and reminds me of no one.. Love it.. And their energy is fantastic
Every time I see a new video posted by KEXP I legitimately have to ask myself if I am ready for a new band in my life.
KEXP has introduced me to so many awesome bands that I sometimes forget some of them, then I end up finding a random album I added on my phone and I get to discover them all over again haha
Same here! Thank you KEXP
As regards to this band I would say yes. You need this lot.
They got really bad in 2020 though for some reason.
Lol same
My faith in punk rock has been restored
I never fully lost faith, but they've doubled mine.
How many punkerz must get dissed?!??!
I thought we were anti establishment and anticorporations & governmental interference in our personal lives ?!?!.
We need more political punk rock and im READY
@@yogijaya2897 That's why I loved punk when it was still a free for all and totally unrestricted/unregimented.Seems like years later it became different sects like just any fucking religion.
"Knifey" is an anthem. No more words needed to explain it. Thank you Amy Taylor.
Incredible to see how much their songwriting has developed the last few years - absolutely insane frontwoman.
She is great.
Wow, they must have really sucked back then!
Wouldn't say so, no
The band is in premiere league.
@@dougdavis8986 absolutely have never sucked at all. They have evolved somewhat into a more "polished " but that's probably the wrong description!!! They are a high energy, in your face, unapologetic raw band. There's been a long standing rivalry between Australia and New Zealand where Australians are forever claiming good NZ bands to be their own WELL this is one time a lot of us New Zealanders want to "steal" Amyl & the Sniffers as a kiwi band 😀
Setlist:
2:09 - Some Mutts (Can't be muzzled)

Any song with cunt in the title is an instant winner for me......
Such a great band, Amy is such a charismatic frontwoman with such an infectious personality, I can't wait for the opportunity to see them again.
Yeah they were the best band I've seen live in at least 10 years! Next time I doubt it will be in a cozy 50 person occupancy bar though. They have been blowing up!
@@coldkissofsteel Nice! As much as I would love to see them in a small club setting they deserve all the success they've been getting and then some.
A good first album but overrated. There second album is not so great. They have adopted a look and sound of another time but it is rather limited in depth or creativitiy. Some Mutts is a great basic song, though. Doubt they will top it.
@@turntablesrockmyworld9315 I couldnt disagree more but thats the great thing about music. What works for you may not work for someone else. As someone thats been in the punk scene for almost 40 years. Amyl and the Sniffers are exactly what I'm looking for in punk. Brings back the old days!
G4y
You don’t know what living is until you’ve been to one of their shows. I feel so lucky that they’re around
Grrrl guitarist here, first heard Guided by Angels late last week and it's been stuck in my head ever since!!! Bouncin' off the walls and fuckin' LOVIN' this band 😎. Come to Chicago!!!
Hello
They opened for King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard when they played at the Riv a few years ago. They were fantastic, and I hope they come back to play their own show here soon!

I'm so glad I found this band. Best Punk I heared in a long time. She is stunning.
You guys rock so fucking hard, I'm so glad that I found your music! Guided by Angels was my first listen, and I'm in a real dark place right now with my health & this music makes me feel so alive, it's beautiful. Thank you!
keep goin!
That guitar tone is perfection
Hell yea this reminds of the punk rock I use to listen to in the late 70's!!!! Way to go Amyl and the Sniffers!!!
Aussie hard rock at its finest. Early Midnight Oil, ACDC, Angels, Divynls
I’ve seen amyl twice in San Diego at Soda Bar, the last time Amy Taylor’s mic came unplugged and I was the one who dived to grab it and hand it back to her, that’s a high I’ll be chasing for the rest of my life
The sound in this is spot on. Great performance.
Can't wait to see them live. America needs Amyl and the Sniffers.
I don't believe the tyrannical Australian govt is letting anyone leave the country at this point. If these people can get out of the country I'm sure they will stay out. You can hear the anger in their songs.
@@gangoffour6690 hell yes… we need them more anyone atm
@@gangoffour6690 is your name of any relation to the band of the same name? I won a Gang Of Four album from WRUC in the late 80’s…!
@@gangoffour6690 eh?
@@gangoffour6690 Their anger has nothing to do with the government "mandate-wise". They played at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl gig, organised by the state government, they support vaccinations and dedicated " GFY" to anti-vaxxers. You are climbing up the wrong tree pal.
I’m addicted to her charisma! Love this band!
Shoutout to that drum kit! She's a beauty!
Sounds crisp as hell too
This music is so very good that my words cannot describe the overflowing amount of joy in which it brings me
"Knifey" gives me chills. Love it!
They've just nailed it, haven't they? I'm just going to direct people to that song if they just ain't "getting it".
Made me sad :(
Simple and yet so fucking dark
Heard it for the first time today - blew me away!!! Awesome stuff...
Es un himno!
“Some mutts” has been in my skatepark playlist for years. I’ve been blasting that tune out there to the general public everywhere I skate. It’s one of those forever good songs.

When I first heard Amyl, I totally got skate tune vibes. Definitely shit you’d hear in a video part.
It's my favorite song as well! It gets me amped up everytime I listen to it.
I love that song so much but I really love 'don't need a cunt like you to love me' even more 😁
I can't stop watching this band's videos I'm now like 3 hours in to binging all their videos ever now back to this one omg I can't stop... so good...

this is my first time ever hearing of this band and i just became an instant fan!! WOW!!!! incredible!!! love from the USA/Virginia!!!
I've got an aunt who lives in Virgina.

Magic! They just keep on getting more amazing! The energy in this band is rare to see these days.
I'm an old punk from an island in England and love this band inhaling the amyl identity!
Absolutely brilliant sound.
Amy Taylor, you are truly amazing 🍻
Amy works the audience - this is technically better from the lads, but Amy is operating at 70%. People who haven't had the pleasure of a live Amy have a lot to look forward to!
Agreed, I hope they can tour next year. I’m dying to see Amy live it’s like Wendy O Willams and Lemmy had a love child.
Right?! I've never seen her live in person but compared to other videos, she looks almost asleep here.

Harder to perform without an audience to bounce the energy off of…
Heavenly Amy..😍
Woo! Melbourne!
"I regret that I have but one like to give for Amyl and the Sniffers"
so proud of amyl and the sniffers 🇦🇺🇦🇺
Do you remember, back in the 90s, walking into a grotty pub with sticky carpets, grumpy locals, geriatric regulars who sat at the bar gripping their pints, and a grumpy landlord who hated everyone who crossed his threshold? In a corner there was a crappy little stage with three coloured lights and a glitterball? Then the band came on mumbled something something, apologising for the shitty sound...
But as soon as they clanged the first chord of the first song it was the most life-changing, incredible noise you ever heard in your life? You're right up there with them, and they're talking straight at you, every word of every song hits you like truth your soul has been trying to tell you since you let go of your mother's hand and took your first steps? You jumped up and down like a lunatic, but at the same time you listened to each and every word like it was the word of god coming through a knackered Peavey amp at a volume which was about to start smoking like a 14 year old with a grudge against society (and their mum's new boyfriend).
You don't see that kind of gig very much any more, but this video was the closest I've come to experiencing that transitory moment for years.
Now go support your local bands, and fuck the record industry!
my 6 year old daughter loves this band...the music video where shes carrying a chain beating some dude up..my daughter olive finds it hilarious 🤷 whatever gets her stoked 🔥🔥
When you daughter gets (considerably) older introduce her to the Plasmatics!

What a band!
The cosmic psychos of punk. Australia must somehow provide this special energy for these very special bands. The new album is my first buy in ten years.
C'mon, COSMIC PSYCHOS are punk too
Amy is so electric! This band is actually incredible.
Excellent live perfomance. 💯💪👏
This band is the best thing since sliced bread , brilliant , I've watched this at least 10 times .
They are so badass!!!
Transported back to 1975. Amazing. Best of luck to the band! Best Regards!

So much talent in one room, and in Melbourne they can do that in multiple rooms at once. What a town!
that woman cured my depression
Only saw one song from them on tv at glasto this yr but am hooked...
Amyl is the best frontwoman in rock/punk/alternative (I prefer punkrock, personally) today. Unique signing/delivery style, so much unfiltered energy, and incredibly sexy. Great band.
Brutalllll i LOVE combate rock

Fuck that makes me jealous
ohhh didn't realise they are at that Miyer Music Bowl show, dammit
@@frarfarf Meyer music bowl? Really? I'm going.
Bloody awesome
It’s cool to see a band just being a band. This reminds me of stuff like Joy Division, Black Flag; Pixies; etc.; bands that don’t really have a genre, sound like they all started learning their instruments at the same time, played together long enough to figure out how to write songs and developed their own style through bizarre musical symbiosis.
Love it 😁 I started singing with a local band once that was like that, they had played together for almost 30 years and none of them had ever played with anybody else. I quickly realised I shouldn’t try to change anything, just let them do their thing like they had always done.
yep been waiting for this ..cant stand the crap being crap ...rap...hahah crap...crybaby rock..haha.....these guys are killing it hope you see them live someday
Mudhoney 😁😎
Just very very good
I'm impressed. Never heard of em. I will check out that album entirely.

Real (loud) breath of fresh air, punk is alive.
Saw Amyl and the Sniffers when they opened for Gizz in San Diego a few years ago. So dope to see how far they've come :')
They need to come back to Cali! Would love to see them play The Doll Hut
King Gizzard?!? Oh my!
All hail the queen 🎉
this is what punk should have been. Johnny rotten energy with people that can play their instruments. great band!
I was thinking exactly the same thing when I saw your post. Actually this is cerebral punk, it's better than 98 percent of first wave punk which wss full of loud, stink, juveniles just screaming and shouting. My first thought was blondie and the damned.
This is funny considering the origin of punk was about accessibility as in just playing the instrument without the formal education, sometimes any education, on it. Basically it was middle/lower middle class whites upset at their socioeconomic status compared to other non white minorities that picked up instruments they didn't know how to play expressing themselves...i agree it does sound better when folks know how to play their instruments
Although playing the songs of the Pistols is not as easy as it seems.
Except only the rhythm section can play, ish, the guitarist is shite. They are like a bad pub band, with great songs.
💥💥💥💥💥💥🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻the BEST Performance of KEXP!!!
