32:23 "Owww, Bloody pikes" I wonder how many times that was said in the British Isles between 1642 and 1651.

Great report, always enjoy your bat reps. While I think you manage well with the table size (it's often easy to forget that these rules were written to be played with very large numbers of figures on a 10' or 12' by 8' table!) I'm still convinced that the BP stable of games play much better at a smaller scale if constrained to a 6x4. The ECW Epic release I think will cater for this will given the adjustments to unit layout; Naps I think they missed a trick by using the same base size / frontages as BP so while the mass effect is there, the table size problem remains (hence I decided to opt for half base sizes). Be really interested to see Epic ECW battles if you plan to go down that path, I know Miller is :)

      Thanks l, appreciate it 👍
I know where you are coming from. I'm just very comfortable and happy with the games, changing the rules to suit and how they play. That being said though, I have got my eyes on the Epic set as i have a passion for the Swedes in the TYW 👍
Keep your eyes open though as there is another ECW game coming and we were on a wider board this time 😁

@@7thson726 Brilliant, as I said I really enjoy your videos and seeing what you do with the rules. It will be really interesting to watch your HC v2 vanilla play through too.
I guess as well, part of the figure / table size thing is down to the fact that I don't have any figures for ECW or WOTR at all yet (for Naps I went with Epic) so it's more a case of deciding, if we do jump in, what will suit us more in terms of cost, painting time and table size given the visuals that appeal to us. Had we already got a collection similar to yours in 28s I'd be more than happy with it and likely wouldn't even consider anything else. ECW I think is even more do-able at 28mm simply because of the size of the armies by comparison to Naps, same goes for the WOTR too really, and WOTR / 100YW do offer the opportunity for some fantastic (if time consuming) paint jobs in 28mm
Just a pity there's no way to progress from considering an army to fully painted army with a click of the fingers 🤔

Took a while for me to get around to watch this, really enjoyed it. What Miller said was really right on, I was pleased and surprised by how much maneuver and flank & rear attacks were managed despite the smaller table. All those with similar circumstances should take note. I've got this Irish rebellion of 1798 project going and may try & integrate some of the "Pike & Shotte" rules into the "Black Powder" as so many of the Irish units were Pike armed. Very well thought out scenario that kept me guessing till at least near the end. Congratulations and thanks.

I'm really pleased you enjoyed it, a big part of why I put these on is to show that having a smaller table not need be restrictive if you just alter the way you play a little 👍😁

If we were to make one change it would probably be to reduce the number of Battalia the defender had by 1 so he has to pick which area he's going to defend when it arrives, to add a little morw urgency to the game 👍

Lichfield had the first large land mine to destroy the south east side of the south east corner of the Parlimentary held wall catherderal defences , first recorded land mine , dug by minners , in English history , . During another seige whilst the royalists held the catherdal a sinper called Dume Dyott killed the Parlimenray command Lord Brooke, from the main spire to the street below.
