The end result looked good, Nice work. Id suggest to never build over your vent/blower. Always make it removeable, how are you going to fix it or replace it in 5 years if it stopped working, Have you never had something not work after 6 months? are you going to tear the hole thing down and start over? Build a box with removable front or shell and mount it to the wall, then install a blower. Don't have the budget to do it right the first time? You will the second time.
I hope you're still checking messages I want to do this project with this exact hood and look which is perfect for my kitchen can you please link the exhaust Hood so I know exactly which one you used
Hi Monica. 😊How does one reach out to have you to transform their home on the “weekender” show? I would love to submit my daughters home. She lives in Tampa, FL.
There are two different types of range hoods. One draws-in steam/smoke, filters it, and vents it back out through the front of the hood, and the other draws steam/smoke in and vents it out of the house through a duct in the back of the range hood. For a project like this, you will want to use a range hood with an exterior vent so that you are not venting directly into the range hood cover.
I love seeing Monica! I hope we see more of The Weekender soon

Is it ok that the vented air is shooting into that box with no way to get out?

I need to add a 90 degree duct above the cabinets and a vent to outside. Ideas? Replacing the cabinets isn't in the budget.
No vent??
I like the idea and what you did. But that rectangular shape looks like crap!
Why are you doing a vocal fry?
