Yeah, he was best with rein. His moira was the worst. Never throwing out orbs and burning through healing for no reason. Then dmg when he should be healing.
I’ve been from bronze to diamond, every rank is elo hell. In bronze everyone is bad which is why you’re in bronze(like I was) in silver you will get one or two good players a game who just roll the team, gold just a dice roll same with plat and diamond everyone throws if you don’t pick what they want BabyRage
Xoid • i have a smurf in silver and im honestly struggling to push it up (mid-high plat on my main). I get so close to gold and then fall down due to idiots 1v6 and useless ults, orisa hiding in a corner, healers not healing etc. Sad part is im a plat flex whos trying
@@darkwolf1739 Dude are you serious ?? Silver is like playing with bots. It's so easy that you can 1v6 the enemy and you will get away with it everytime lul, no offense but if you're struggling in silver then you don't deserve to be in plat tbh. Don't blame your team, blame yourself for not carrying in silver. You need to improve your mechanical skills and game sense to be able to climb the ladder in ranked
One thing Sty and every GM smurf I play with needs to understand is that if we got 5, we’re going. If we stand around for 20 seconds waiting on some feeder to get back, some other idiot will stick his head out and die. People in gold and below are idiots. If you can get 5 people to not trickle and feed, you thank Jesus and press W.
19:59 oh young sty.. so innocent, 2020 and we have role select now, but everyone is just running flaking road and feeder ham. Finding Rein/Orisa in game is like a miracle!
I’d like to applaud your new intro. It’s still on brand, but right to the point and doesn’t waste my time. I feel that more people need to take note. Great job, Sty!
The problem with placements is if you flex, it will harm your placements. This is based on an unranked account. If your already placed in another season, then it doesn't hurt you to flex
This guy is a perfect example of a Moira that right clicks the whole game, lets all of his teammates die over and over again because he's not healing and then complain to the dps that he has gold damage.
I like the comment of "we don't have to get into the intricacies of each hero" because I think this player has very basic problems that I feel like Stylosa just made a lot more complicated. For starters, it's very clear this player needs to start by making his hero pool a lot smaller. Playing a lot of heroes is good, but it looks like he's getting stuck on very basic mistakes that he wouldn't if he played a role more consistently, or even if he understood the role better. For example, and I hate Stylosa for constantly saying this, you don't need a main tank because they have a shield, you need a main tank because they create space. This player plays Rein and Hammond as if they were support players and he plays Moira as if she was a dps or a tank. On Rein, a lot of problems would've been solved if he just held W more often instead of just existing with his shield up. He had Ana and Moira behind him most of the time, and they were listening to him talking; also the enemy team didn't really have any way of punishing Rein being aggressive. Rein does so much more than just being a punching bag, if you're just going to stand on payload holding shield, you might as well be playing Orisa, and even then I would argue you should be pushing ahead of payload to make more space, since there wasn't anyone on his team that wanted to be on payload specifically. When having payload control, after killing everyone on the enemy team, you should almost always push forward and leave stationary heroes on payload. People in lower ranks are crazy about having 3 people on payload, but most of the time this isn't something you want. Having 3 people on payload isn't that much faster than having 2 people in payload, and even then, it isn't as important as making sure the defending team can't touch the payload. If you can have a fight without anyone contesting the payload, you're already at an advantage because the payload is moving forward. You also have the advantage of not letting the enemy set up where they want, after all the best defense is offense. The change on Hammond could've been really good if he knew how to play Hammond. Just like with his Rein, his Hammond play is very passive. Hammond's guns don't really do that much damage, you really get most of your damage from grappling into people and then slamming them. Even more important than damage, the ability to just boop Rein and make his life miserable is what could've won the fight. The enemy Rein was clearly more aggressive than our player and being able to disrupt that aggression could've been game changing. There were really only two risks to the Hammond, a trap from the enemy Junkrat, or the Reaper who is very easy to avoid while playing Hammond. Yes, it's easier to heal with Moira and Ana, but Hammond really doesn't need that much healing. The Moira could've been good if he didn't use his fade to engage, but instead used it to run away. Moira's range is deceptively long, and even if he was playing a dps Moira, it's never a good idea to fight a DVA at close range, without the ability to run away. If the enemy team was better, it would've only taken one more person to shoot the Moira for her to die instantly. Obviously he should've been healing more as Moira, but I think that wasn't as important as his positioning in my opinion. Overall, if he played tanks as space makers, instead of shield machines, and healers as backline support instead of frontline heroes, he would do a lot better.
He's not talking too much. Players in Silver for example sometimes don't even notice a nano'd enemy Genji or Bob 1 cm away from them. Better safe than sorry imo.
@ 14:50 he is swinging on the antinaded rein. Who is below half health. And then 30 seconds later gets killed by the same rein. Is it just me or was there really no reason to switch targets like that
22:00 "Push now! They are distracted." My face just hit the top of my table... I am literally speechless, and I have seen Maintanks switching of Rheinhardt (for some reason) and me switching for the final hold on Orisa from a healer just to try and hold...
Reinhardt was a good choice, he messed up once, but should've stayed as Rein, almost had ult as well. If he wanted to delete those squishies, one Earthshatter would be enough.
I used to complain to my plat friends about Elo hell back in season 3-4 when I was stuck low gold. then it finally clicked and u learned the mentality as a main tank player and got to high plat. then I started vod reviewing my mistakes and watching pro dps players and I saw clever ways they won every fight. once you learn how you manage your mistakes and learn why YOU are losing, why your movement is bad, your don't understand your abilities such as pocketing someone as mercy or being an antiflank for your Ana as mccree, you will fly the ranks I placed 2200 in 2016 and I've climbed over 2000 sr lul
I don't agree with "If the main tank swaps, you've lost". I play silver, roughly 1561 SR. Granted I ask my team if the swap is warranted. One I remember was on Busan, where there was a hamster who was screwing us. Since most people dislike changing heroes I asked "Want me to swap to Sombra to get rid of the hamster?". No arguments, some agreed, and we won the match :P Being flexable is the name of the game, just clear it with the team first.
This was about as broken of English as I have ever done. My apologies. I was playing Rein on this point. And the hamster was pushing us off the point constantly. Swap to Sombra, deny the hamster his hamsterness, win games.
I hadn't played comp in a long time and had degraded to high silver for a few seasons. I decided to go full try hard with a friend or two last season and though I lost my first game (it was close) I then went on to win all 9 of my other placement matches, and then 4 more matches after that. I ended up in low Gold, the system clearly bases the vast majority of its metric purely on where you were in your last recorded season. I don't think I'm amazing but I've played a lot and competitive always feels like I'm struggling against the system, not being rewarded for good play. I like the more structured/serious take on the game people generally have in comp (compared to QP of Arcade) but there's just no way to beat the system, you need to grind for way too long to possibly crawl up the ladder, and for what? I've got my golden hammer now so I just look at comp like QP with slightly fewer trolls and squeakers, fuck the SR system.
Jordan Ferguson rainbow six you can be copper 4 but if you win 6 placements your in gold 4, the thing is tho for the first 10 games after getting placed you lose or gain a lot of elo due to the game learning where you’re at. This means each season you have a new chance to prove your skills and you won’t always get placed where u were previously.
It's a good thing he didn't shatter there.. @9:35 Their Rein was down and he was full HP... 6v5 with a full HP Rein WITH a potential Nano Boost to heal him if he gets too low...
don't you just love the reinharts charging into a room of full enemy team alone miles away from everyone else screaming they're not being backed up or healed
I watch Sty's videos and I want to contribute. He's helped me climb from bronze to plat and while I can't make a detailed analysed video like he can - I can try to elaborate or point out anything he missed. I hope you guys take my criticisms as constructive feedback, because I only want to help the community and not hurt anyone's feelings, but do give me some feedback if I come across inconsiderate. 3:26 I think sty actually mentions this but you should really go. Drop your shield so it recharages (as you move forward) and you move faster. Your team are tanking the damage while you're not in the front-line. You should be on the front-line absorbing damage (almost always unless your shield is broken and you're about to die) and right next to cover so you can get to it when you need it. This happens again at 4:38. 14:24 First mistake is not disengaging (like Sty said - this won't work on higher tiers of Overwatch. That being said, 1 in every 2 games in plat, I shout disengage to my team only to see hammond die. So I just end up voice comming Hammond's feeding and you're going to die. Within 3 seconds he does and I :sigh:) but luckily you spotted junkrat and it looked like you made the losing fight into winning one (with the rein) This kind of play might even suggests you have hope to be in gold, BUT - 14:49 I'd say you made the wrong call. Ana clutch saved you, anti-healed the enemy rein and you were nanoed. if you just kept swinging at him - you would have killed him (and you were in range so there was no way he escaped you) but you turned around and started swining at lucio - who has more mobility and end up not killing anyone with nano. That rein that you should have killed charge-kills you in the end. If you killed the enemy rein - it would have been 2v2 (soldier and you vs Moira and lucio). Given you had spawn advantage - you team might have actually won that. 19:23 "I don't know why you think this is ELO hell as well" I can't help but disagree. Sty touches upon hero selection, let me touch upon game mechanics. When I look at footages of my self back in silver, the movements, reactions and the ability usages are not as refined. I can feel a world of difference between myself back then and now. When I look at this player's footage, unfortunately, it doesn't feel as refined. (notable example being my point 1 at 3:26, but being repeated across the board) sorry bud - it's not an ELO hell. Also, it took me a weekend to get from gold to plat. OW is fairly good at noticing when you're not in the rank you're supposed to be in (from my experience) 19:53 I agree whole-heartedly with Sty. This triggers me (as an off-tank main) and I have to fill. Granted I think D.Va provides much more value than zarya/hog (unless it's Rein/Zarya or Orisa/Hog team-comp) - but switching off main-tank is death-sentence to the team. From my personal experience, I can pull off not having shield-tank when I'm estimated to be 200SR lower than I should be. I noticed this when I was climbing and it's my personal thought. 20:17 This is what I want to say to every hammond player (across the ranks and globe) LOCK HAMMOND UNTIL YOU GET TO DIAMOND!! (I'm just kidding - AM I?) 21:01 As a D.va Main - I would have won that 1v1 against soldier. Trigger Boost, DM and missiles at the same time to deal damage while shortening the distance without taking damage. You didn't need to shorten the distance so just slam into him twice. Soldier is effective at medium range, D.Va is effective point-blank range. Slam into him for extra damage and get him disoriented and shoot shotgun in his face. Ask your ana for peel while diving him (it's 100% WR then) Having shield is better but if you can make it 5v6 by getting an early pick - it's doable. 23:01 See my first point. While Sty digs into your charge (a valid point I might add) more relevant would be the time where you aren't really playing with your dps (see times like 3:26 and it happens multiple times) You're not telling them that you're making space so they're kind of ignoring you. 27:23 who are you healing? why waste Left Click? 27:38 don't use fade to engage - use it to disengage - especially when you're peeking around the corner 28:22 this is a death-sentence for tank mains like myself. You're essentially making this 3v6 (DPS can look after their own goddamn health I'm looking at you genji) I know it's frustrating - but taking constructive criticism goes a long way improving your game. Hope to see you asking how to climb to plat from gold next time!
the Mai thing ... she was kind of the "low-elo-counter" to reaper, because reapers got scared of her and ran away ... so therefore someone wanted a Mai ^^
Anyone who says Silver is ELO hell is wrong. I was bronze, and I WAS terrible. I had a computer that couldn't consistently pull 30fps and I played like trash, and I had an irregular internet. I practiced a particular class, upgraded comp and internet and went from bronze to gold in one season. Get a good computer if your computer isn't good enough, but otherwise it is 100% possible to carry to gold with minimal to no teamwork from your side. Once you get to gold/plat you actually start needing to coordinate with your team (unless you're seriously good) and get much more specialised, but down in bronze/silver, you playing well is enough to get you out.
went from gold to gm, back to gold, back to gm, down to silver, and now cant climb out of silver. im done with this game. constantly getting 4-5 kills per fight and still losing the fight every single time and then losing the game. average 7.67 kills per life and no matter what i do, we lose. screw this game.
that means you're trickling, because you are either showing up to the fight too early and getting kills while your team is still running back from spawn, or getting all those kills AFTER your team has died, so you're getting 4 kills then dying without your team near you. Before you pop off, make sure you have some allies near you so your kills don't go to waste. It's like a game of jump rope, gotta know when to go in.
Few tips Use your fire strike more often it gives lots of ult charge and deals a lot of damage with a good cooldown instead of charging in the middle of them all the time Only say things that help your teammates you are talking way to much and most of its useless so only say stuff that will help your teammates Your positioning is bad stay with your team because your team needs your big shield for blocking ults most importantly Don’t charge in the middle of the team they will just instantly kill you in gold or higher so think of what your going to do before you do it I will say it again stay with your team This all just simple things that you need to remember
Lol this is the epitome of the mindset of people saying “I’m stuck in bronze/silver” thinking they’re doing everything but are doing nothing and even swap off what was working then throw the game.
Honestly, his rein wasn’t awful. Other than the suicide charging and flank shatter it was ok. Some bright spots in it. Learn rein. It will give you an edge since you will know how to tank and the other team doesn’t.
I climbed from 1800-4006 over the course of 6 or 7 seasons and I felt like “Elo hell” was 2400-2900 imho Then when I got to around 3650 it was nothing but smurfs throughout til gm. The climb was so terrible in masters that when I hit gm I gave up on competitive all together.
word. I honestly think the border between all the ranks are the hardest (ie, 2450, 2950, etc). People will get mad after 1 minute and start throwing, or "this isn't even my main account idgaf."
Dick Johnson Yeah It’s especially bad on console where you can make unlimited smurfs for free. That last 50-75 Sr is a grind since many players tilt after dropping a rank or losing a game right before a new rank.
The thing about Rein, it's hard to enjoy playing him. He's just so boring. When I have to fill with him, I don't ever switch, but I can see why people get the urge to. He's not a lot of fun to play, you're just holding right click most of the time until you shatter. Rinse and repeat. It takes a ton of patience to play him.

OMEGALUL !!
Dudes 400+ levels and in silver. That's gotta suck. It took me 10 placement games to get into gold.
Well I'm in hell. Its pretty nice here.
Xoid • Doesn’t matter the rank, a team game requires teamwork to win. A plat would get out of silver but they wouldn’t win every game.
"We need to group up" one sec later decides to just go dive in alone and die as wrecking ball and just give reaper free ult charge
5:50 “we got shatter nearly” then proceeds to saying that Ashe is a long way off her ultimate, when she’s only 2 percent behind reins

Yay! Missed overanalyzed. Why bo intro anymore :(
One thing Sty and every GM smurf I play with needs to understand is that if we got 5, we’re going. If we stand around for 20 seconds waiting on some feeder to get back, some other idiot will stick his head out and die. People in gold and below are idiots. If you can get 5 people to not trickle and feed, you thank Jesus and press W.
Why did Stylosa choose the name Stylosa?

"Ye'd best start believin' in Elo Hell Miss Turner,
...Yer in one!"
I don't mind ELO hell as long as it's Electric Light Orchestra.
The problem with placements is if you flex, it will harm your placements.
This is based on an unranked account.
If your already placed in another season, then it doesn't hurt you to flex
Thee Apex Predator fuck I think i played mostly mercy in placements back in the day. Why did they make season placements meaningless
This guy is a perfect example of a Moira that right clicks the whole game, lets all of his teammates die over and over again because he's not healing and then complain to the dps that he has gold damage.
When I read the thumbnail I thought “elo hell” was just stylosa saying hello hell with his british accent.
ELLO HELL
They're distracted by my corpse lmao
The healing ball into the ground to bounce up into the sky hurt me the most.
He's not talking too much. Players in Silver for example sometimes don't even notice a nano'd enemy Genji or Bob 1 cm away from them. Better safe than sorry imo.
He doesn't need to say he fire striked a wall, that is the problem.
Reaper distorts player's experiences at low ELO levels, especially for main tanks.
Kinetic Symphony i feel bad for tank mains, they probably dont have the experience to know when to switch to deal with reaper better
16:05 - TIL Zen isn't squishy.

He didn’t say anything about it
Reinhardt was a good choice, he messed up once, but should've stayed as Rein, almost had ult as well. If he wanted to delete those squishies, one Earthshatter would be enough.
3:54. Sty. Dammit bro StreAmer has an A in it. You're killin me bro.
I used to complain to my plat friends about Elo hell back in season 3-4 when I was stuck low gold. then it finally clicked and u learned the mentality as a main tank player and got to high plat. then I started vod reviewing my mistakes and watching pro dps players and I saw clever ways they won every fight.
once you learn how you manage your mistakes and learn why YOU are losing, why your movement is bad, your don't understand your abilities such as pocketing someone as mercy or being an antiflank for your Ana as mccree, you will fly the ranks
I placed 2200 in 2016 and I've climbed over 2000 sr lul
took me until level 300-400 to get to low plat and silver border I was diamond
OMG silver rank is such a mess, I cant imagine how's bronze like. You have my respect Sty, having to coach this, is the dirty part of the job I guess.
It's a good thing he didn't shatter there.. @9:35
Their Rein was down and he was full HP... 6v5 with a full HP Rein WITH a potential Nano Boost to heal him if he gets too low...
don't you just love the reinharts charging into a room of full enemy team alone miles away from everyone else screaming they're not being backed up or healed
"Hales of Bay"

“Stremer”
Elo hell is when you ask to go dive and your DPS says, "ok, I'll go Reaper" or "yeah but we need a main tank, Winston isn't a main tank."
Love your vids
Hey look it’s me... oh no, no it isn’t
That first half of the game actually triggered me😭
I watch Sty's videos and I want to contribute.
Within 3 seconds he does and I :sigh:) but luckily you spotted junkrat and it looked like you made the losing fight into winning one (with the rein) This kind of play might even suggests you have hope to be in gold, BUT -
14:49 I'd say you made the wrong call.
OW is fairly good at noticing when you're not in the rank you're supposed to be in (from my experience)
19:53 I agree whole-heartedly with Sty.
(I'm just kidding - AM I?)
21:01 As a D.va Main - I would have won that 1v1 against soldier.
27:38 don't use fade to engage - use it to disengage - especially when you're peeking around the corner
28:22 this is a death-sentence for tank mains like myself. You're essentially making this 3v6 (DPS can look after their own goddamn health I'm looking at you genji)
I know it's frustrating - but taking constructive criticism goes a long way improving your game. Hope to see you asking how to climb to plat from gold next time!
3:45 “stremer”
At the beginning he should have seen the reaper teleporting right beside him and he should of called it out
After not touching overwatch for a whole year, and trying to play again a couple of times and deleting it again, it actually began to be fun.
I was in public when watching this vid and said aloud "He didn't kill the Rein!?" When we was nano'd and the enemy rein was low health and Anti'd!
Can you analyze more diamond players?
The Flankin' Reinhardt really sounds like a band name.
the Mai thing ... she was kind of the "low-elo-counter" to reaper, because reapers got scared of her and ran away ... so therefore someone wanted a Mai ^^
Anything is possible. Jayne had a shield hopping bronze rein.
That guy was amazing!
Yeah everyone talks shit about us silvers. Not that there arent stupid things like this vods show but it also goes the other way around.
Even with role select no one wants to play main tank and you end up with Hog/DVa/Hammond combos a lot when pushing~
stremer btw
Oof, this player may actually be delusional. His thoughts do not align with reality...
His teammates are in elo hell. I wonder how many of them left voice comms. I probably would have...
”Okay, alright i’m pretty flexible”
_Plays six different heroes_
Well, he's not wrong. But there's a difference between bending to avoid breaking and bending over if you know what i mean.
my god he couldn't even blink or fly in a straight line.
went from gold to gm, back to gold, back to gm, down to silver, and now cant climb out of silver. im done with this game. constantly getting 4-5 kills per fight and still losing the fight every single time and then losing the game. average 7.67 kills per life and no matter what i do, we lose. screw this game.
that means you're trickling, because you are either showing up to the fight too early and getting kills while your team is still running back from spawn, or getting all those kills AFTER your team has died, so you're getting 4 kills then dying without your team near you.
Before you pop off, make sure you have some allies near you so your kills don't go to waste. It's like a game of jump rope, gotta know when to go in.
Few tips
Use your fire strike more often it gives lots of ult charge and deals a lot of damage with a good cooldown instead of charging in the middle of them all the time
Only say things that help your teammates you are talking way to much and most of its useless so only say stuff that will help your teammates
Your positioning is bad stay with your team because your team needs your big shield for blocking ults most importantly
Don’t charge in the middle of the team they will just instantly kill you in gold or higher so think of what your going to do before you do it
I will say it again stay with your team
This all just simple things that you need to remember
YAY! Overanalysed is the best RUclips series!!
This guy is the reason Elo hell exists
That decision making hurt my brain
Lol this is the epitome of the mindset of people saying “I’m stuck in bronze/silver” thinking they’re doing everything but are doing nothing and even swap off what was working then throw the game.
Good stuff g
Honestly, his rein wasn’t awful. Other than the suicide charging and flank shatter it was ok. Some bright spots in it. Learn rein. It will give you an edge since you will know how to tank and the other team doesn’t.
I climbed from 1800-4006 over the course of 6 or 7 seasons and I felt like “Elo hell” was 2400-2900 imho
Then when I got to around 3650 it was nothing but smurfs throughout til gm.
The climb was so terrible in masters that when I hit gm I gave up on competitive all together.
word. I honestly think the border between all the ranks are the hardest (ie, 2450, 2950, etc). People will get mad after 1 minute and start throwing, or "this isn't even my main account idgaf."
Dick Johnson
Yeah It’s especially bad on console where you can make unlimited smurfs for free.
That last 50-75 Sr is a grind since many players tilt after dropping a rank or losing a game right before a new rank.
Well, he demonstrated ELO hell really well
The thing about Rein, it's hard to enjoy playing him. He's just so boring. When I have to fill with him, I don't ever switch, but I can see why people get the urge to. He's not a lot of fun to play, you're just holding right click most of the time until you shatter. Rinse and repeat. It takes a ton of patience to play him.
This is why i bought the game again made a second account now am having fun in diamond. While my main account stuck down in that sliver hell!!!
Was on the same boat lmao 😂
