this gameplay right here is the reason i quit ow! so many boosted people in ow dont understand simple stuff and look at his level... and stil doesnt understand one thing xD
This is bottom bronze level play. He doesn't engage with his team, constantly dies, doesnt group up, doesnt even check where his teammates are before he engages. This is painful.
I love Reaper. Idk if it is the meta, his kit, both, etc. But Stylosa is right, he can't really climb past diamond. (If you did, good job!) But there is a reason why he isn't a popular character among the higher tiers/levels. He can be countered extremely easily, even with his most recent buff. I played him a lot when I first started, and now I am in plat and he is no longer viable it seems.
This was painful to watch. I'm no one-trick, but Reaper is probably the hero I've played most since I started playing OW a few months ago (though not so much recently). The entire second half of this game, when the Reaper's team was on defence, was abysmal. I can't help but think that the Reaper was trying to look for value, hoping to assassinate the enemy supports - but, since Reaper is so close-range, he felt he *had* to try and flank or charge in mindlessly. When on defence, that's totally unnecessary. Literally, all you need to do is wait for the enemy to come to you - which they *have* to do. Stand behind the safety of your team's barrier, poke at the enemy barrier and, when they get close enough, engage and shred them. He also seems way too reliant on Death Blossom to gain kills which, while it can devastate teams, isn't actually that useful at higher levels. The enemy will know you have it, and will keep their CC abilities at the ready to shut you down. To name just some of the heroes in this video that can render Death Blossom useless: Zarya can bubble herself and someone else, mitigating the damage and allowing them to escape the close range kill-zone. Rein can shield himself and anyone behind him from all harm. Hanzo can one-shot you during it and you won't have any way of avoiding it. MxXree can stun you out of it. Ana can sleep you or 'nade you and remove your insane life-steal. D.Va can defence matrix you long enough for her team to escape the kill-zone then fly away herself. You get the point. At higher levels, you only really want to be using Death Blossom to secure a single kill or two, not go for huge team-wipes (unless you have a Zarya bubble you as you ult, or Sobra EMPs. EMP-Death Blossom, by the way, extremely powerful combo). As to the use of Wraith, it could do with a lot of work. The temptation to use Wraith get close to someone isn't one you should ever really succumb to. You get a speed-boost and you can't be damaged as you get into your close-range, high-damage radius. But you also leave yourself without a reliable escape method, or rob yourself of a wraith-reload. Even if you secure the kill you're going for, which isn't guaranteed, you're left stranded with the enemy team focusing you. At 24:57 you have the perfect 'bad play'. You waste Wraith to get close to the enemy Ana in the hopes you'll kill her. But then what? The enemy team has a Mercy who hasn't used Res in a while (and just Valked so you won't be killing her any time soon). Scenario 1: You die without killing anyone, you're basically feeding and throwing. Scenario 2: You kill the Ana, die, Mercy uses Res to bring back Ana, you gain nothing from your death. Scenario 3: You kill Ana and one other hero on the enemy team, Ana gets Ressed, both teams are down by one, you gain nothing from your death. Scenario 4: You kill three or more people, die, the enemy reset and have the respawn advantage, thus have a better chance of winning the next fight. Scenario 5: You kill multiple people and somehow survive without being able to Wraith away. That list, by the way, is in order of most likely to least likely to happen. And, as you can see, there's a lot of risk for not a lot of value. The higher you go in rank, the more people will punish you for making bad plays like that. Always take in your surroundings - yours and the enemy team's situations - and ask yourself, before engaging, what you hope to gain and what could go wrong/how likely are you to succeed. If the risks outweigh the rewards, don't do it and start thinking of a new plan. Man, I could go on about how to play Reaper all day. I've played him *way* too much. But, in my defence, he is a mechanically easy hero to use (while also being able to do large amounts of damage and carry at lower levels of play).
As a rein 1 trick, I have to honour my fellow main tank and complement his awareness to identify that the reaper couldn't get behind the barrier in time because of the slowed movement and moved forward to block the high noon. 19:30

Reaper mains are without a doubt the most frustrating people to have on your team no matter where you are on the ladder, it took this guy two and a half in-game minutes to get an ult and he didnt kill anyone with it. Yep hes kinda a stereotypical DPS player, going on dangerous flanks and taking risks, then blaming the game or the team when they dont go to plan.
I mean basically lol
Nituraa you see how upset he was when the mercy got POTG lmaoo
Be honest tanks and healers do this and usually its worse because they dont have the right kit to kill everyone and actually healers are the worst with trying to do stupid dps plays like a moira pretending to be tracer or a mercy using her ult to 1v6
no i think thats stereotypical Moira players tbh lol
@@hippityhoppity7394 not really lmao. Maybe in bronze sure I can believe that but most healers and tanks below diamond are too scared to get out into the fight. Kinda the opposite of what you're saying lol

I am a support main with almost the same sr and I am absolutely shocked that you can play this bad as dps and still be high plat.
same goes for people who play moira, mercy, etc. It's easy to get boosted, especially if you 6 stack with people who are clearly vastly better than yourself.
Daniel Kemnitz Your response actually makes more sense that the original comment and to ncBadrock you can definitely not play this bad and be this rank.
Play like this and Jeff Kaplan shows up to your house to smash your gaming platform.

Reaper playing like a bronze with slightly better aim. 100% carried by his team, holy.

I was gonna say I have a Plat buddy who Mains Reaper and every fight he’s taking 1-4 people down with him or getting out just in time for heals. There’s no reason why he shouldn’t be making that Mercy’s life a living hell.
@@KoiPuff Most people really don't understand the problem this guy has, yes maybe your friend is taking 4 people out every fight but it's because it's plat and none of the enemies know what to do and as sty says, in diamond people are more aware and will react.
Thanos Chungus No I totally get it. Like he’s got lower than Plat skills while playing with Diamonds. He keeps starting fights from 15m away when Reaper can head shot people in one hit if he’s in their face.
Personally I'm an Ana main in plat (and yes I'm not ashamed of being avg skill player since I just wanna have fun and when it gets borring I play something eles) but reapers like him is just candy to me because I know I'm gonna make his life a living hell.

24:23 "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! NO, YOU AIM IT LIKE A BLOODY CABBAGE!" lol I"m dying 🤣🤣🤣
when the silver reaper main who got boosted and carried to diamond thinks hes good
This is bottom bronze level play.
Yeah he’s kinda trash which is unfortunate because he’s my favorite character.
In good news, the MT should climb pretty nicely. Good comms.

i think blizzard accidentally made his silver rank symbol too shiny
But, in my defence, he is a mechanically easy hero to use (while also being able to do large amounts of damage and carry at lower levels of play).
nice essay lmao
thanks b

Today on overanalyzed our host stylosa gets his brain melted
As a Reaper main (not 1-trick), parts of this was just painful. "Hey, I'm at the perfect range to shoot this Rein in the head where he can't reach me. I guess I'll jump down into his face now and have an up close inspection of his big hammer." That's quite a masochistic move there.
Reaper mains are without a doubt the most frustrating people to have on your team no matter where you are on the ladder, it took this guy two and a half in-game minutes to get an ult and he didnt kill anyone with it. Worthless haha
Update: How in fuck hell did the other team not win with this kid actually role playing reaper feeding his brains out all game, that team should be ashamed of themselves I hope they see this lmao
Ikr. Everyone is always saying Hanzo/Widow are most awful, but most of those know when to switch off (from my experience anyway). Reaper mains? Not so much lol. And even in low diamond it becomes so hard to get value out of Reaper imo… I don't know why anyone would even pick him when they want to win.
There is a difference between a reaper main and a reaper one-trick. I myself am a reaper main, but I will happily play another hero if it is needed.
His tanks were good. Constantly had space and denied enemy team space
He probably sent his best game
