@@hippityhoppity7394 that is true. Those two things are not mutually exclusive though. If they don't have the skill to peel, then acknowledge it and position yourself more towards them even if its technically an inferior position. Is your Rein pushing wayyy ahead and tunnel visioning on the enemy team in front of their actual spawn location? Either you can spawn camp with him, or if you have an ult like Nano or Barrier etc, you can bait the enemy team into fighting the Rein and then catch them by surprise with a clutch save on the Rein and win the team fight easy. Knowing when and why your team members do mistakes, is incredibly important to understand how to most effectively play with the comp you have.
Emilio Reyes Baptiste is given dps in his kit, and it’s good. When you put baptiste into the main healer position, yes he can keep up with healing, but he is left to his own devices once an enemy decides to push him. For example, he uses his super jump to her high ground, uses immortality to save the people dying on the main fight, now has to try and heal his team back to full while they’re contained to a small circle and still being damaged, now immortality goes down and the dva and genji decide to push baptiste. Now baptiste has no option but to continue trying to heal his team that is losing the fight and baptiste will inevitably get picked first. Now if baptiste has been in the same position but with an Ana for main heals and baptiste as off, it would’ve played out differently. Baptiste could take high ground and put pressure on the enemies trying to push him while still having great positioning for healing, now when baptiste gets pushed first by yet again the dva and the genji, the genji should be low if youve been hitting shots, and Ana will be able to keep you alive while you keep the main fight up. If Ana gets dove first, baptiste falls back and uses immortality to defend the both of them and simultaneously be doing damage to the attackers. Tldr: baptiste is off because he should be given to chance to utilize the dps aspect of his kit (his gun and super jump for positioning) and not forced into a position where he heals and heals only, he should always be left with multiple options instead of just one, heal the team.
A really important point that needs to be made about Baptiste's Immortality Field placement; when possible, place it around corners that prevents the enemy from shooting it, while still providing the benefit to your team. For example, on the first point in Nepal in this VOD, you can actually place it just outside the point near the edge of the doorway to get onto point. This prevents the enemy from shooting it, while giving you immortality as you walk on. This protects your back line heroes a bit more, and ensure that if the enemy really wants that Immortality Field to go away, they have to get out-of-position themselves. The Immortality Field is really useful, but also a HUGE target. If your team gets caught by a grav, tell your Rein to Keep his shield up and protect the immortality field. Sure, it won't work every time, but it can at least increase the survivability of the drone and get more benefit!
you cannot fire primary and secondary fire at the same time. there is a delay... I don't know why people keep saying this, do they not actually play him? you CAN hold down the primary fire and then between the bursts you can press the secondary fire which will launch the healing but they won't be at the same time. Bullets and healing do not come out of the gun at the same time.
I personally think that baptiste is the best healer in the game. Used to be a Moira/Brig/Lucio main in my console account. Got pc account when Baptists came out and have been maining him since. I'm seeing a lot of people in ranks like gold that always say "Baptiste is bad" "Baptiste switch mercy or ana" Baptiste even in the hands of an average player that doesn't use him for dps can already output massive, massive amounts of healing. And with more practice now 1.6k healing per minute is almost like average for a Baptiste player, with the healing output sometimes even reaching 2k per minute. Baptiste, tho having area healing, can also heal a lot for individual characters. Like most other healers, Baptiste's supply of healing bombs won't run out. Ana healing a single target allows for 70 healing per shot (correct me if I'm wrong), whereas Baptiste does 60 healing instead. Baptiste even though having a disadvantage for healing heroes like genji or pharah from a distance is still able to constantly dish out a considerable amount of single target healing. But what about healing the entire team? 60 times 5 = 300 potential healing per projectile. Slap in a regen burst and you're talking about 110 healing per second per teammate adding up to 550 healing per second not including himself. Such a high healing output makes him a definite target for pharahs, winstons and any other character designed to destroy enemy back lines. Baptiste ain't scared of them. Pharah? Baptiste has a hitscan weapon that from my experience can come in handy when fending off enemy pharahs. Genjis tracers and winstons? As long as you set down a field and call in your team for assistance you're gonna be fine. Don't forget about his passive exo boots. Not many people are utilizing them but you can just simply shake off pesky dps characters by jumping to some random high ground to escape. He's simply the most reliable healer you could ever ask for.
@@jpool115 nah bap is actually just pretty bad. If you aren't playing a very coordinated bunker comp (probably not happening in gold), there's no point in picking him. I know this is old, but I wanted to point out in the beginning the Lucio switching to Ana. It doesn't really work on that particular map they are on, but that technique is to use Lucio's speed boost to get their team to obj slightly faster and since Ana has ranged healing it is ok to be lagging behind a bit so long as she still has LoS. Couldn't really tell if that was what the person was doing though lol.

It goes away after mere seconds of not using it, it’s kinda awkward to go around crouching every second to charge jump pack, especially when a lot of reactionary movement is critical. It wasn’t really critical to use jump pack this game either.
Mercy's an off healer after her nerf to healing rate. Her kit characteristics are more closely aligned with what an off healer is defined as. She can only main heal winston, and maybe orisa depending on the enemy comp. Unless your rein sticks to the shadows that's a death sentence for your push
Yeah those are rank stats, not healing per second. Means she has to heal twice as much as she damage boosts in order to remain relevant. Her healing per second is only slightly higher than lucio, as compared to moira ana or baptiste. Is lucio a main healer?
Main healers are burst healers that have large healing output intermittently andthey cannot passively heal themselves. Off healers can passively heal themselves and do not put out large healing numbers and their utilities provide greater value to team fights than primary healers do
@@charge416 that is a totally arbitrary definition of what an off support/main support is, and hugely flawed: -zen doesn't have a passive heal he has shield, a shield regenerating itself is not a self heal also moira/lucio both can heal themselves while not using any passive ability (biotic grasp/crossfade are not passive ability), does that make moira an off healer too ? - "large healing output intermittently" so brig has her pack every 6s (that is by definition intermittently, as in every 6s) which heals a lot of health, does that make her a main healer ? nope -off healers "do not put out large healing numbers" define large healing numbers and over which period, if it's over a short period then brig is a main healer according to your definition, if it's a long one, mercy is definitely a main healer according to the link above, in both case your mistaken at some point
Dude, you say he wastes regen a lot, but it's a five second HoT. Hitting it during a push if perfectly acceptable. If you've used regen to open a push, then a teammate takes 75 damage 2 seconds into the push, they're healed to full again 3 seconds later if they find cover. If they win a one-one-one of get a kill during the HoT, that's an appropriate defensive assist. If your Rein is about to charge or start swinging, REGEN before they do it or as they start. Someone jumps on your team while you're grouped and you're unsure of the target, REGEN.
I always thought Main support is the support that call the plays and play the easier less aim intense heroes to focus on being big brained. While the off/flex player plays the more aim/higher damage output heroes. So Main is Lucio, Mercy, Moira. While off/flex is Ana Zen and now Baptiste.
I can't tell you how many times I've hit "I need healing" while my DoT is on CD and the other healer types "Heal yourself". For people who don't play Baptiste, his alternate fire (aoe healing grenades) heal teammates but not Baptiste himself. So while he has continuous heals for his team, he can only heal himself every 15 seconds.
Using regen before damage is taken isn't a waste because it's healing over time, so if you use it and they start taking damage it will continue to heal until the time is used up

You just need to switch more. Reaper can't be good against a lot of team comps and even certain healers like Brig or baptist. There is a lot of heroes who gonna destroy you. If i see reaper in enemy team im just picking brig and cancel all of his ults until he switch. If aim is an issue for you on Xbox maybe you shouldn't pick dps or maybe you can try phara, mei, junk or even bastion. Also you can try Zen to deal decent damage (you will kill people but noone will be mad at you if you don't) but also heal and save people with your ult

True about the Genji-Ana duo stack! I'm a main dps, flexing offtank, but i won many games with a friend Genji and i was playing Ana just for nano him, also with Zarya worked well as a team together :)
Maybe i'm wrong, but I think one of the reason they lost is because the guy playing Baptiste did not switch. I mean, yeah the guy is very very good with his pick, but with the DPS picking a Pharah, even if its a weird choice, I think it would have been helpfull to not let the team have a 5 v 6 and let him try the Pharmacy Duo. Or maybe ask for the other support to pick a Zen.

- "large healing output intermittently" so brig has her pack every 6s (that is by definition intermittently, as in every 6s) which heals a lot of health, does that make her a main healer ? nope
-off healers "do not put out large healing numbers" define large healing numbers and over which period, if it's over a short period then brig is a main healer according to your definition, if it's a long one, mercy is definitely a main healer according to the link above, in both case your mistaken at some point
Has anyone ever told you to shut the fuck up?

Sty is really passionate about comming :))
oh hey, clicked this OverAnalyzed randomly to watch and it came out exactly a year ago
0:13 "... no idea what it says"
But you do: it's "Pachimari", but in Japanese.
I always thought Main support is the support that call the plays and play the easier less aim intense heroes to focus on being big brained. While the off/flex player plays the more aim/higher damage output heroes. So Main is Lucio, Mercy, Moira. While off/flex is Ana Zen and now Baptiste.
OPShinkie your silver I bet
I can't tell you how many times I've hit "I need healing" while my DoT is on CD and the other healer types "Heal yourself". For people who don't play Baptiste, his alternate fire (aoe healing grenades) heal teammates but not Baptiste himself. So while he has continuous heals for his team, he can only heal himself every 15 seconds.
Title: IDIOT DPS THROWING HAHA SO BAD
Reality: oh wait he's actually pretty good
Using regen before damage is taken isn't a waste because it's healing over time, so if you use it and they start taking damage it will continue to heal until the time is used up
Yessss. 40+ min video. Thank you STY!!!
i did not have fun in Overwatch since 10 Season's.
Sooo... does that mean you are having fun now or still no?
Hey sty, I’m an Xbox reaper main and I have been stuck between high gold and low plat but I feel I should be higher. I need to work out how to include voice comms into the gameplay but once I work that out would you coach me I love this series and have watched almost every video scavenging for advice trying to get better at overwatch. Please like so sty can see! 😄😍
PS: love that you have brought this series back.🥰
NotScurvy it’s hard to do on Xbox I do not know how but I do know on PS4 and PC
You just need to switch more. Reaper can't be good against a lot of team comps and even certain healers like Brig or baptist. There is a lot of heroes who gonna destroy you. If i see reaper in enemy team im just picking brig and cancel all of his ults until he switch.
If aim is an issue for you on Xbox maybe you shouldn't pick dps or maybe you can try phara, mei, junk or even bastion. Also you can try Zen to deal decent damage (you will kill people but noone will be mad at you if you don't) but also heal and save people with your ult
Yellow Tunes I don’t think this guy is going to want to switch. He’s a reaper main so he probably wants to play reaper
@@orakekileer1552 this is main problem with this game. You rely on your teammates but they will not switch even if enemies destroying them
Today i played with bastion onetrick on Hanamura on attack. What a shitfest. That son of a bitch forced everyone to play heroes he wanted us to play and said that we suck after we lost. What a nice teammate
NotScurvy how is it even possible to be a Reaper main and not able to get out of plat lmao
Subscribed to and like solely for the come zero interlude. Just kidding your videos are my favorite, but I am a Houston outlaws fan and can't forgive you for that slaughtering in the last game. Keep making great content
Sty: We should use all our abilities on point.
Moments later: Why did you use regen!!! that was a waste of regen!!!
29:46 Stylosa has a time machine, confirmed.
*Baptiste Pro Tip:* If you hold down both mouse (or trigger) buttons you can heal & damage at the same time. It'll automatically alternate between the 3-shot burst & heal 'nade, without loosing dps.✌👍
True about the Genji-Ana duo stack! I'm a main dps, flexing offtank, but i won many games with a friend Genji and i was playing Ana just for nano him, also with Zarya worked well as a team together :)
honestly these videos give me life
the shirt says "I love Pachimari" in Japanese
Whoa Whoa Whoa! Did he just pull a can of soda out of his pocket?!?!
Me too I love playing babtiste it’s so satisfying all the healing on the screen
As doomfist you can place the lamp next a wall and then go to the other side.
15:30 I died lmao. That's me too often
Or maybe ask for the other support to pick a Zen.
my entire team is the pharah
XD it's not the rein that's going "I WAS ON THE POINT THO" but instead it's you XD 😂
These thumbnails are getting ridiculous ...
We didn't come here for the OverAnalysed, we came for the can opening
It is Baptiste with the "P" pronounced
Yeah idk who the fuck batiste is
That's the english pronounciation? He pronounced it more or less right lol
Next episode: Coke Overflow Analyzed
Oblivion the Coke tilted😆
39:08 I agree with sty this is noy his fault that they are losing, but something he could've done there was charge his jump as soon as he heard doomfist's ult so that he wouldve survived it by jumping over it
21:14 you're not supposed to overanalyze your coca cola
And here's a prime example on how you can lose a game when all it takes us one person that doesn't understand how to properly DPS with their team
Sty, mind if we get a room or house tour. From the part you can see from you facecam it looks AWESOME.
Great vid Sty thx so much
Bunker with Baptiste is really strong on Hanamura. I like how everyone in diamond knows about it and tries to enforce it.
The immortality field is the most overpowered ability in the game . Hear an alt immortality field you get 0 kills BROKEN
Noah Aeden just kill it
@@supersaiyansalamence agreed it's 250 health and remains stationary, you'd have more trouble shooting a bot in the shooting range
Been having a lot of fun playing baptiste, I actually don’t mind filling to go a healer now. Moira got really really stale
I sure miss these coaching videos...
Holy shit, that was a good prediction.. 29:40
Love this
