Thanks for posting! I did this in my 1997 Tacoma, Pioneer BT radio. Truck's plug fit right in no connecting harness necessary, but now there is a alternator whistling noise through the speaker! How do I fix that? Ground? How?
that “plastic piece” is called a dash kit, not a harness. the “metal connector” is called the sleeve. the “pins or flaps” are called tabs. you NEVER want to use wire nuts in a car. the vibrations will have them come loose overtime. plus wire nuts are meant to be used for single strand only.
Much appreciated! I now have bluetooth and phone. I put the mic in the dash.
Super Helpful!! Thank You!!
Nicely done, thanks!
Thanks, this was helpful!

Maybe change your spark ⚡️ plugs and wires.
wouldn't you test the new unit before screwing the dash trims back on?
Thank you
Very helpful video thanks dude 🤙🏽
Thank you for this. This helped me a lot!
Is that a toyota tacoma lx
I would crimp the wires with sleeves and shrink them with a shrink tube.
Would have been cool to see what wires came from the truck and not a already color matched harness
I did the same thing and my dash board lights won’t turn on...what can I do can somebody help me .
+Jose Olvera Was this after you installed the radio?
Disconnect negative battery terminal so you dont accidently engage your airbags
The Kerbal music!
Exactly like mine lol 😂
That’s a cool stereo but if I were you I would have gotten a pioneer or kenwood ,so you can play CDs or Bluetooth of course
