    Do you (or does anyone) know of a video or manual on how to disassemble this? I need to physically replace the USB port. Lenovo tells me it's on the mother board, but probably screwed on.
    This video is so crisp. It'd be so great to have something like this before I take it apart. Thanks in advance!!

    I have a Best Buy 720 also. I'm not impressed with it at all. The only good thing about it is the screen. One of the fans is making a grinding noise. Lenovo said that they don't sell replacement fans and I have no idea how to clean the fan. I looked at it today and don't see how the fan could be taken apart or cleaned. Any suggestions?

    Hi Janis, its a good video to learn about since the lenovo information on their website is confusing. Still i dont undrstand one thing that your video has 2 slots or one? If 2 then, one has 8gb soldered and another free in which i can insert either 8, or 16 gb stick? the ram that you inserted is the nonsoldered one right? I am planning to buy a model having 256 ssd and 8gb onboard ram and later plan to upgrade it. But the model that i am choosing says only that 8gm ram(onboard). can you please explain what that means? it means that 8gb is already there, but is it soldered? in that case is there any emply slot to add more ram? Thanks.

    • @deejnutz2068
      @deejnutz2068  6 лет назад +3

      Pratik Sarker you're assumption is correct. The 8gig model comes with 8 gigs of RAM soldered into place with one slot open. I'm fairly confident you can put either a 16 gig card or 8 gig card into the open slot, but I would go with 8 gigs just to be safe. Unless you absolutely need 24 gigs of ram

    • @pratiksarker1407
      @pratiksarker1407 6 лет назад

      Thanks man! You said that you bought it from Best buy. Did you remember that it had 8 gb memory (onboard) or (1x8)? Are they both same with one slot open? I am asking you this because I am planning to buy it from lenovo which only says 8 gb (onboard).

    • @deejnutz2068
      @deejnutz2068  6 лет назад

      Pratik Sarker any 8 gig model should come with 1 stick soldered and one slot open. I believe the model without the gtx1050 from Best buy and Lenovo are the same model. During launch Lenovo didn't have the none 1050 model on their website but have since added it.

    •  6 лет назад +1

      Joining the conversation. I think most official sources say that max ram is 16 gig:
      psref.lenovo.com/syspool/Sys/PDF/Lenovo%20Tablets%20_%20Convertibles/YOGA%20720%20(15_)/YOGA_720_15-win509.pdf
      However, some people in forums say they have been able to install 16gig extra:

      Twice on two separate calls, Lenovo techs assured me that the HD model that comes with 16G total will take a 16G stick as replacement for the non-soldiered 8G stick it comes with. I'd still stick with 8G for now since the bios control & heat are all based on an up to 16G total, but hopefully will accept the 16G down the road when that's really needed.

      So long as you don't have any open containers of water around you or you go around carelessly touching PC components before grounding yourself you should be fine. The battery is self-contained so you shouldn't need to worry about that. If you just focus on cleaning out the fan area with compressed air and you keep one foot connected to a solid piece of metal you should have no issues.

I'm reading the product specification document and it says the RAM is soldered and not capable of being upgraded without a certified technician. However, clearly your video shows you were able to replace it and that it;'s only DIMM ram.
      I really asking because I am looking at buying the 13 inch version (80X6002JUS) and would like to upgrade the ram as you did. Do you know if they were referring to something else when they said "soldered" ram?
