the anaconda, corvette, cutter, and especially the beluga are basically a little smaller than the size of small cruise ships. for example carnival cruise line's smallest ship is the carnival inspiration in the fantasy class lineage. it has a length of 260 meters a beam of 31.50m and, while exceedingly difficult/impossible to find the height of the ship it appears in images to be roughly the same height as it is wide. so the beluga is only 50 meters shorter but it's 15 meters taller and much wider, even when you don't consider the wings.

Everytime I watch this... I always just think how Frontier messed up the cockpit sizes... they feel so small but in this they look to be big something of a bridge on ships like Chieftain etc... for 5 bridge crew etc...

I didn't realise how many ships are in the game it's great to see them all like this
I used to play the original Elite game on my ZX Spectrum 48k many years ago! Took up a huge chunk of my time lol trading, battling and growing, the game was very engaging and immersive, even though it was in essence a very simple format, it had a certain complexity about it and felt like it was a huge universe to explore, even back then in 8 bit computing on a 48k memory machine, using very crude but effective wire frame graphics, running quite smoothly on a z80 cpu until the Thargoids arrived with those little drone like attack ships, then it would lag and struggle animating the attack lol👍😎😁⚠️
yeah good memories... I had my "deadly" status which I long couldnt translate due to lack of language ;), until I bought good dictionary :)))
They should let us walk on our spaceships to really get a sense of scale
That music was in the original Elite from the mid eighties....brilliant.
And in the auto docking sequence
The detailing on that Tesco banana was absolutely mind blowing. I would cross the void with it anyday
Kinda sad that the Coriolis wasn't included.
All the elite dangerous fans need to play this game in vr. I was blown away by the scale of my asp explorer and everything else.
Now this is quality right here, thanks for the scales man!
Makes you realize how cool it is to take down a bigger ship in something like an Eagle.
Everytime I watch this... I always just think how Frontier messed up the cockpit sizes... they feel so small but in this they look to be big something of a bridge on ships like Chieftain etc... for 5 bridge crew etc...
🙂🙂😍😎👢💄⛑️😄⛑️⛑️💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎🎓💎🧢
Except they are massive in FPS Lol but u have a point
try it VR - i was shocked when realized that my cobra4 cockpit are bigger than my living space. and why the hell cockpit must be big?? it is unpractical and useless, besides it surrounded by armor, life support and other stuff, that take even more space.
And now we can all see the size of these amazing ships from the ground. This game has come so far.
Verdict: we’re going to need more bananas.
The Beluga is literally the size of a Carnival cruise liner, yet it carries only 3% as many passengers. Beluga, 184 max capacity. Carnival, 6,000-7,000. It's a ship as big as a Carnival cruise liner, but only carries as many as a Boeing 747.
"yeah my cobra III is pretty big"
"Oh wait nevermind"
I see it as a space b2
Proud owner of a Type 7 Transport. I've got it rigged for a ton of cargo and 4 passengers. Love it.
There's always one thing that always bugs the hell out of me with elite. The big ass window that always gets shot out when shields drop especially with mid to large ships!
Only if you fight head on all the time.
You could buy module reinforcement or go heavier on shield tanking instead.
This movie has such an ending... I’m crying.
Amazing. I just started playing 2 days ago (just 2 tutorials so far) and to be honest the game is a bit overwhelming with all the stuff that goes with it. The docking tutorial was hard enough. nice job on the video.
Once you start playing you'll omit several parts of the landing tutorial but still able to land it without completely destroying your ship.
The fact that the learning curve is pretty non existing, makes it very overwhelming at the start.
do some flight sim and docking will be as easy as just flying in a straight line
@@theutgardianchannel1952 if u don't land correctly your landing gear gets destroyed plus your ship, here you have shields and your ship is by far more resistant
Meh, got bored of the docking. Just buy a docking computer. Only have to bother with landing on planet surfaces then.
Really excellent work, as ever. 👍 Ignore the rotten dislikes... Thargoid infiltrators probably... disgruntled to see the extensive range of Federation, Imperial and Alliance space technology arrayed against them (including the Top Secret, Yellow “Boomerang” weapon that appears at the beginning... or should I say, the “Top of the Line” exhibit... aka “The Top Banana?”) 🖖😎
I can't wait for the December update.
Perfect! And that Sandro's space loach shown at the end of the video pleased me much. Thanks for all the work put into it!
Great work as always, I love these videos.
This was brilliant, thanks! I can't wait for Odyssey and the ability to trek around our ship on foot!
I used to be a pilot like you, until I got spacemadness. Hope the 2020 update can save me. #eliteburnout
How do you get burnout from a game that has zero content to burn out of? 😂
I played for 6 hours a day minimum for about 7 months straight and got an Anaconda, so I definitely feel burned out
@@drifterax7731 ouch 6months to get a conda? Have you tried mining?
@@drifterax7731 In 3 days, 5-6hrs of mining a day, I could already buy one
Насколько же ахренительна эта классическая музыка ))))) Когда я впервые установил чип-посадки на свой корабль, я буквально прыгнул со стула и начал танцевать вальс или вроде того )))))))
I recently started playing this game, I was surprised that so many ships where in the game, I haven't seen even a 10th of those ships yet
highjix Most of players stops at owning about 5 of them as a max number. Very often these are 3. At a beginning they try all small ships ;) But then they discover youtube and coriolis.io and make rare purchases with opened eyes.
or do core minning and go cobra, type 6, python and anaconda in less than a week like I did haha
I hauled my way to an Imperial Cutter, she’s now my bread and butter in slaughtering NPC pirates for a living. Started to collect ships in the game and currently own 22 ships, collected 21 different ships so far (one is a second Condy for regen beam laser)
The music makes this video 1000x better
Love these! ....nice one Mat o7
Beautiful. Perfect transitions in time with the music, and fantastic artwork.
Actually found this strangely relaxing to watch too.
👍👍👍
Love these videos. great work.
Federal Corvette! Absolutely stunning.
Just awesome always - One suggestion, how does a Thargoid base compare? :)
I'd say the base would be on par with an orbis station if it were buried up to the mail slot but those really big structures are made of lots of sub structures which unless you know how they go together, are a nightmare to get close to right.
I'd like to see that as well
Good point
And now we have Titans... roughly the size of Manhattan
When it started to zoom out after the farragut battle cruiser i was wondering what is more massive then it showed the station and i was like, ye that makes sense.
Awesome vid man. Really nice.
The standard, Drake-class Fleet Carrier is a staggering 3,200m long, which absolutely dwarfs a majestic class. That's nearly four of the burj khalifa super skyscrapers laid end-to-end. (the variants of the FCs might be even longer!).
Thank you man, been waiting for this for a while :)
Great job!
How do people dislike such an interesting an inoffensive video???
"Tesco" banana? Are other shop-bought bananas really any different or is that a cheeky sponsor? ;)
It's been a long running thing as far as I've known. Hahah
Sure, I just needed a logo and manufacturer name for the stats panel. Other banana vendors are available. :)
@@preferredimage thought as much ;)
Mat Recardo
Try a Chiquita; that's classic.
@@preferredimage do we know the species of banana?
Just started playing with the Epic Games giveaway... loving it! Just bought my Vulture and love how it feels. First ship I bought that actually feels maneuverable and combat capable by having tier 3 guns.
Just wait until you have an anaconda, it has 1 t4 slot
Me to MK4 Cobra/Viper: What do you bring to the table other than a price?
MK4 Cobra/Viper: I’m a chunky Boi.
Great Job! This amazing visualisation will help me to explain to friends who still hesitate to start the adventure with ED.
My goal is now the anaconda. That is one hell of a starship.
Gotta mine those ltd
the space lurch! Oh man, i miss him so much :D Great video!
We need the Fleet Carriers!
Surprisingly better than expected.
