The 5.7 hemi is a underrated ass kicker I have kept up with some fast cars I’ve seen on the road in my 03 1500. I have beat some fast cars too. Mine isn’t stock it’s making 450hp maxed out on the power system is my guess. How it’s been for many years... it’s probably sitting at 390 395hp... it don’t feel like it though but the original owner is confident that that is where it’s at currently. It is on a 93 gas tune. Power is always there and it’s so instant. Sensitive gas pedal. It’s awesome. Great motor and it’s in a PICKUP. Legendary in my opinion. It can still kick ass to this day even though some motors and the newer version 5.7 hemis have more power shit I still think the old original 5.7 hemi magnum is the ass kicker. Just add that little amount of horsepower and you got a 12 or 13 second machine. I have ran 11s in my truck. Great motors just treat em well....... as tempting as it is don’t beat on any engine they’ll last you if you don’t beat on em

The doors not unlocking is the wiring where you open the door, expose the wires and you'll see some of the wires that might be snapped in half, because when you open and close the door, the wires get folded over and over until they snap. Just match the wire colors and add a little more more wire to it, that way when you open the door the wires will have enough room to move around. I have an 08 ram but two wheel drive with a 5 speed automatic, and has the 5.7 hemi.

I paid 167$ for an 07 Hemi 4x4 1500 Bighorn and love it. K&N Filter, Superchips tune, new Duratracs, Flowmaster cat back 40 series and tomorrow she gets leveled. In the future i'm looking at Bilstein 5100's and full Powerstop Z36 brake replacement. I've also replaced the headlights and housings and went with Hikari LED and LED foglamps with LED interior lighting as well. Also replaced stock speakers with Kickers in front and rear. Currently at 215,000 and runs like a champ.

They go man. Mine is a 2003. 205k rims and drives fantastic and is clean. Very little surface rust on frame, little rocker panel rust spots, rear fenders are rotted which sucks other than that annoying shit (typical old dodge) it’s a fantastic truck. This will last you... people should try their best taking care of the rust before it starts getting worse... the original owner of mine didn’t do it much but he did treat it very well and enjoyed the truck, he bought it brand new

Take plug off the switch on drivers side. Stick a screwdriver into it and bend them tighter and all locks and windows will work again. Wires split in door jambs sometimes also, butt connect and shrink wrap. I'm on my third one of these. I've had an 02 and 04 1500 and a 03 2500. They are so easy to work on. They all have needed a new power steering pump and 1 radiator

Bought a 2004 regular cab 4x4 with 98k miles in 2019... sat in a farmer field for years rarely used. Rusted bed nobody wanted it... paid 800 bucks the frame is rock solid. The 5 speed works like new. The interior is like new and the 4.7 shocked me.... after owning several hemi rams (last one was solid with 350k miles all original drivetrain perfect working order) found rhe 4.7 was wonderful. I don't speed anymore and towed a full size 4x4 Suburban across town on a heavy double axle equipment trailer. Towed the 10k pound load just fine. I've done nothing but tune up and tires put 10k miles on it and man I smile every time I start it. I think this generation of trucks are great. Would never buy any of the newer trucks and I will be one of those guys promoting the 3rd gen rams and buying them until our prime minister Biden bans gas motors. Eh I'm stuck in my ways and when I drive down the road towing a load past a new ford or chevy with a 800 dollar a month payment infeel warm and fuzzy.
Also the cabins on these things are built to last. Unlike the chevys of that Era which handles and doors fall off these rams just work and don't fall apart. Definitely great trucks for a working man.

It's funny how you mention the trans yeah a lot of people (ford guys) seem to doubt these transmissions... I think the 350k miles on my hemi with the 350hp motor and towing all the time never missed a beat. So I think the facts speak for themselves. Mopar all day!

The rear tall lights not turning on is the
Circuitry where you plug in the bulbs. There's a lot of build up in there or the circuitry mechanism is burned out due to moisture. You might have to replace it.

2005 ram here In NY, 5.7 SLT premium everything inside.
Sun roof leaks from the handles by door when rains are heavy. Drains get clogged fast even after I blow them out. Fuel pump went which was a pain but I cut a access panel above it in the bed. I don’t carry anything heavy and built a support for it. Covered by the be liner anyways.
Rear left door doesn’t unlock with key or button either has to be manual
Body rust been minimal but I stayed on top of it. Above the rear wheels I’ve re done with bondo but starting to pop back up. Will probably just buy replacement panels next time.
power steering hose rusted off, took me about 2hrs to replace no biggie.
rear left brake hose completely rusted off too had to get that re done.
crankshaft sensor, O2 sensors, gas cap, & a hose underneath to the emissions box (forgot the name ) had to get replaced.
I eliminated the muffler on it (was super rusted) but kept the resonator. Sounds awesome.
Rear left taillights gets rusted out but I replaced all the lights on the truck to newer LED assembly’s so it didn’t bother me.

I have a 07 Ram Laramie I bought with 22,000 miles. Biggest thing I had go was the gas tank had to be changed cause of evap valve issues and I have a vent door broke for the floor and it’s a $2000 repair but not worried about fixing. It now has 180,000 and only thing motor wise that’s had to be replaced was water pump at 160,000 and I had broken manifold bolts at around 120,000. I replaced spark plugs at 160,000 but we’re not that bad. I have done oil changes very constantly 3 to 5,000 miles and before every long trip. Tow a camper as well. I have small rust in rear wheel wells which I think started by going to new York for Christmas one year which I can re paint my self. I live in tennesse and truck has spent it’s life there since 2010 and only one year in Pennsylvania I’m currently saving up to get new Ram but will probably keep this truck for extra and for kids when they start driving it’s been a good truck over all. I maybe have 3 to $4000 in total repairs at 180,000 miles which I think is not bad when you think I’ve had it paid off since 2014 so that been a cheap truck to drive in 7 years
