Renault 25 is really something I haven't seen for a long time. A buddy had one some years ago and he's regretting that he has sold it. Especially because it was the pre-facelift and in such a great condition. But he's in the automobile business as self-employed person. So he has to keep his business running and the hobby car suddenly becomes a sold car.
Disappearing VW Golfs ... this doesn't happen here. Perhabs some people just import them back for spare parts.
I really like the Renault 12 - and I heard these were such comfortable cars. Same about the Dacia 1300.
Oh lovely, a Fiat Ritmo from the first series. These are super rare survivors.
Peugeot 309, Renault 11 ... such great looking cars.
Oh, Lancia Gamma. I can't even remember that I've seen one of them in real.
Totally loving the wheels of the Peugeot 205 GTI
First generation of the Renault Meganè was actually also a good looking car. But I must say the Triumph Stag before was of course more interesting.
FSO Polonez, very right and cool. The Peugeot 406 is also very cool - I had once one of the 2nd series with the bigger headlights and the black grill.
Oh the Skoda Fun - never seen it with a hard top. I can remember that once I almost bought one when it was new. The price was attractive and I found the car interesting especially because it was advertised for younger drivers and back then I've been a younger driver.
The Rover SD is very green, hehe.
Loving that Ford Escort Mk3 Ghia - with the chrome stuff it is really looking cool. Totally loving the wheels.
    But the Jag coupe, wonderful!
Oh wow the old silver Honda Civic ... haven't seen one of them for a loooong time!
Hyundai Stellar - we didn't have them over here. Hyundai appeared here just later in the 90s. The Toyota Corolla beside is something I can remember - my brother had one of these.
Oh, blue Porsche 912! I find them very interesting because a lot of people don't even know it existed.
So much of cool cars there!

Hi Sven - hope your weekend is going well? This was the last video before the final one featuring all the cars in the competition which will air next Saturday. It was a really interesting event which I might return to next year - will try and get the Sunny in the competition which would put a different feel to the day (and the videos). There were cars like that Jag XJC which were genuine old school classics but most were the interesting 'ordinary' cars which have vanished from our roads. Who would have thought that an FSO Polonez would be interesting back when they were new. Cheers, Mike & Maia

@@OldCarsNewVan Weekend is doing good so far. The classic car meet for Saturday was canceled (luckily I figured it out on Friday). And today I decided to relax at home. Maybe filming one or two videos of model cars ... The weather forecast wasn't so well for today. Although it seems like the rain will start later but I already decided to stay at home, now.
The Sunny seems to become a car you take out for more shows. It's fascinating that such an ordinary car that already become so rare will be such a good choice. I find it fascinating and it only let me think back when in beginning of the year I was thinking about either getting a second 30+ y/o classic (Mazda 323 BG saloon from the early 90s was in my focus) or to fullfil my dream to get either an Jaguar X-Type or Rover 75. Perhabs the ordinary people's Mazda could have been a better choice ... who knows ... I won't find out anymore, haha. And I must say as much as the Jag did drive me bankruptcy but I was also loving to drive it (when it wasn't at the repair shop, lol - but to be fair I must say that most of the time it spent there waiting for available time of the mechanics).
So well, let's save some money again for another hobby car. But this will take a while because the Jag did really cut a big hole into my wallet. Yet I am also still very happy to own the Audi - although sometimes I was thinking about to get something else instead because it are already almost 10 years with the same car (I never owned a car this long before, haha).

@@BFDdrives These are the constant thoughts and decisions that go through our Petrol Heads - keep what I have or sell and experience something new.....but here in the UK it now suddenly seems quite hard to sell - no one is buying perhaps, as we have a new Government, people are expecting to be poorer😅 Not sure - but a friend is trying to sell his classic for less than it's worth and nobody is interested. And I see the same adverts week after week so nothing seems to be selling. Oh well - lucky I like what I have 🤣The Audi is lovely - perhaps just replace the Jag for something simple when you can? Anyway, you'll make the right choice for you.

@@OldCarsNewVan When selling is getting harder then buying us getting easier, hehe. I wished to be a clever millionaire (I'm none of both, haha, not a millionaire nor clever, lol). What I mean is ... being a clever millionaire to have a lot of money on the bank account but also having a nice barn to place some cool old vehicles in it but not running bankruptcy like new lottery millionaires who spend all of their money within 1-2 years and then being as poor as before, hehe. I guess right now you could find some cool stuff for a cheaper price tag. But overall we're facing harder times. Looking to us in Germany - the new government is a big fail and prices still increasing everywhere plus economy is going down because they love to spend their money more into green eco-socialist experiments around the world. Personally I am also worried what is happening about my job. I am selling tools for turning machines and the entire machining industry and automotive industry is just going down. At least it is yet not as bad as during the pandemic but there were definately better days. Well, at least I am knowing my boss is more into changing to shorter hours instead of firing people. But of course this means less money with more spare time - well, probably more diecast model car videos on BFD drives, haha
I replaced my Jaguar X-Type with a VW Golf Mk7 - needed something more simple that is not forcing me to get bankruptcy again. It's right now on a 4 years loan - at least I got really a nice offer for the Jag. Of course not as much as I paid with all the expenses but overall much more than I expected because they were aware about the catalyst problem. I guess for a daily the Golf is definately the better choice. Perhabs the problem on my Jag wouldn't have this much of a problem if I didn't use it as a daily.

@@BFDdrives Hi Sven - I'm glad that as good a result as was going to be possible has happened for you and the Jag. I'm sure the Golf will serve you well.
I have little confidence in any political party doing a good job and spending money wisely - sounds the same in every country. So yes, tougher times ahead. I work in Financial Services and a lot of customers are pulling money out because of uncertainty, which means job security is also getting worse for me too. So let's enjoy thinking about all those cars we'd buy if we had a barn and loads of money 🤣
