You asked for good Christmas jazz charts that don't take a long time to prepare. Now you've got it! The sequel to his first Big Band Christmas" chart, Carl Strommen's Big Band Christmas II" medley is available for your holiday performances. With four great seasonal songs, "Here Comes Santa Claus," "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town," "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," and "Auld Lang Syne," this may be all you need for the holiday season. Carl ties together a mix of styles and tempos, plenty of ensemble work, and short tenor sax and trumpet solos into a nice package. Have fun opening this one! (3:33)

The Auld Lang Syne ending is the best part imo

True but its kinda hard
When taken fast its fun
I play trumpet. I dream to be a drummer. When I saw this, I knew I wouldn't be able to hit the high notes. I'm a second year player in senior band at my school (I started in grade 8. I'm in grade 9 now).
never back down never what?
NEVER GIVE UP
director *pulls out big band christmas* "alright guys were gonna read through this"
band *reads through* "this is kinda corny not gonna lie"
director *pulling out big band christmas ii* "wait, what"
HONESTLY my band thought big band christmas one sucked lol
@@amijanae8727 lol it did honestly. Kinda boring tbh
@@amijanae8727 probably because they couldn’t play it lol
big band 2 is better
2nd trumpet solo was great
I remember playing this in my middle school jazz band and we (the trombones) had to stand up in the three quick measures before auld Lang syne. Fun times! 😂 Also the pianist (who had perfect pitch but awful rhythm skills) screwed up the end so much, but he got it the last practice of the song and we all cheered.
I play tenor and I'm nervous about the tenor solo because I have to stand. The trombones at our school dont stand.
Pianist here, my school’s winter band concert is tonight and I’m literally practicing just there last part because it’s also being a pain for me 😂 I kept effing up that part in rehearsals too 🥲
*that
Yes I'm the pianist and I wanna kms AUD LANG SYNE IS SO HARD FOR NO REASON AND IVE NEVER PLAYED PIANO BRUH WTF
My son is going to be playing this song very soon! He plays drums too.
is his name vincint
Can never get over that trumpet solo part though. Like damn
0:03 Here Comes Santa Claus
0:58 Santa Claus Is Coming To Town
1:51 Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
2:47 Auld Lang Syne
Thanks
I'm about to play this with my band tomorrow, wish me luck to whoever is looking at the comments
I'm getting pretty sick of trying to figure out the beats
The auld lang syne part is so easy to lose track of where you are!
Listening is a good key to staying on track. It comes in handy when I'm lost in 20 bars of rest.
I had to count in 2/2 because it went so fast!!
yea i play bass and i was sooo lost lmao
Omg same I’m always thinking it’s still the end of Have Yourself a merry little Christmas with how fast the tempo changes
i need to play this for my school band in 5 weeks
not hard just really tiring
MK on what instrument?
trumpet playing both first for majority of the song then second for the have yourself a merry lil christmas solo
Playing this for a holiday concert it’s so gas
this is absolutely brilliant stuff
Really nice
im playing the second part trumpet solo in my band and im super excited

@@dutchmilk4158 please say when
@@konickz5831 0:37 it is meant to be C#
@@alexschmitz4404 coming back the C makes for a funky minor third crunch
playing the first two tunes feels so much better if you go 20-ish clicks faster
Fuck i gotta play piano in this tomorrow. Wish me luck!
The only reason people went to listen to this song because you played it like a few years ago xd
