A Most Wonderful Christmas
Arr. Robert Sheldon
Item: 00-24679
Series: Alfred Concert Band
Category: Concert Band
Format: Conductor Score & Parts
Level: 4 (Medium Difficult)
Some of the most popular Christmas selections of all time are included in this delightful arrangement, A Most Wonderful Christmas. Robert Sheldon has included "Winter Wonderland," "I'll Be Home for Christmas," "Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town," "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," and "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year" in this very tasteful setting for band. Solo opportunities abound and are cross-cued to allow your best players to shine, while the swing sections and jazz inspired ballads will have your audience tapping their feet and singing these tunes long after the concert is over. This is certain to become a repertoire standard for bands year after year! (7:40)

This is by far THE BEST piece of music i have ver encountered in my musical career
Check out Maslanka
It's sad we abuse Christmas music this bad. This is the only one to get the chords and harmonies and additions correct, and feel extremely christmassy. The band is very good, but some things are still out of tune and out of synchronization.
6:15 hit different😍
That trumpet in Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas is straight fire
I play tuba now and Santa Claus is coming into town is now fun to blast
Ending a song on a sweetened jazz chord is the best way to end a song instead of some royal major chord where every instrument plays the same 4 notes, usually : D, B, G, and D or if they feel remotely spicy...then E as the last note. Beautiful piece/arrangement, really gets you into the spirit like nothing else could ever even begin to
I know someone who disagrees with you. I disagree with him! 😂
@@matthewleininger8079 ah what a shame, tell'em that they need to listen to more music that isn't basic pop.
Kind of presumptuous to call a major seventh chord a “jazz chord” but I agree.
@@overhead7045 I live in a basis of flowerly terms, I'm not as stupid as to say "jazzy chord" and I'm not robotic as to say "diminished 7th hemiquaver 3rd graced" because I'm a car facade person, not a car engine person if you get me. No one's going around saying "beautiful body lines and unique exposhion embellishment, metallic maroon paint on sculpted body" in the same way they would be using that sentence terming when saying "beautiful 680 2 cylinder, 7 carriage holder and 240 BS plate."
So I would call this a dimished, vintaged style jazz block-chord. Now I've heard a chord like nothing you've ever encountered so I have a one up on you in terms of your musical knowledge in chord naming. I can find you a few if you like and highlight the exact parts.
OUT OF MY 20 YEARS OF LISTENING TO BAND MUSIC I HAVE NEVER SEEN A AD IN MY MUSIC THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS
I know right
best Christmas song I've ever played :,) every instrument got their own spotlight lol
There really is no limit to what this composer is capable of, is there? He is just AMAZING!!! (And, wow! What a great job this band did on it as well!)

Man the memories 🤧 I miss concert band, loved playing this piece!
GOD DAMN - Almost makes X-MAS music bearable again - Nice job!!!!
Umm tf It did make it bearable again
Pčela đđđ
Unless you're playing flute and get confronted by top Bbs (too many leger lines above the stave to count) in runs.
Covers and Choreo , I'm pretty sure these are the comment who hear things as feelings in the background more then people who understand that we have to finger correct keys, key signatures, tempos of around 160 usually, rhythm, pitch, set up, 16th, 32nd, and 48th notes perfectly..also altissimos and leisurely placed in triplets to sextuplets..also once i got the longest measure to hold one note which the time signature was 10/4 at dotted : 8th note
Absolute hell
@@WitchKing-Of-Angmarswitch to brass. it’s easier. Also 48th notes don’t exist and there’s no 10/4 in this song
Man, I played this for my sophomore year for our Christmas concert and it was really cool. One of my buddies and I always loved that low brass/horn part at 0:36 and would always bob our heads to it. No one else in our band really cared for this piece, but me and my friend loved it and would always practice it together, such good times.
GOD BLESS THAT AMAZING TUBA SOLO!!!!
Whoa! The drumset at the last measure was awesome!
We're playing this for a concert and have only a few days left to prepare!
Good luck to all of you. I wish we were playing this awesome song. Oh btw what instrument are you playing?
Same here!!

Playing this one for a performance pretty soon. I'm on tenor sax and I'm definitely the best one at that lick around 0:48
I dont like Christmas music that much but if its arranged anything like this I cant be mad.
That tuba part is great. My middle school is going to midwest this year and we can't play this now.
