It's impossible to hear this song and not shed tears. I'm 52, alone and have no family left, but I'm still trying to keep the spirit alive in me, even though it died a while back, but I'm also trying to stay alive myself.
JT, Im sorry about that. Loneliness is a hard thing, but enjoy the holiday and finding somebody else can make all the difference. God said all things get better and they will for you 😊
well phrased. Xmas can be as sad as it is happy. Something about it not being all that it could be in your mind, chasing the perfect experience that you never catch, childhood memories of times, family and friends gone forever, etc
Never thought about it in those terms, but yes, you've hit the nail on the head. There was always something about this song that I could not quite pinpoint, and it's the melancholy.
This song defines Christmas. A 1965 Christmas special that hasn't aged and holds a special place in Billions of peoples hearts. A true Christmas masterpiece.
This song is perfect for driving in a car to see Christmas lights, enjoying a quiet evening dinner, or just sitting by the tree drinking some eggnog or hot cocoa. Perfect song.
+TheTekken21 I'm feeling the same way.....really the first time in my life in terms of the intensity of how I miss "yesterday"! I've been reflecting so much lately of my childhood...such good memories! Just simply being a kid...no worries...life was peaceful...no bills...work..etc. But I think just being an innocent child and seeing life thru pure eyes was so enjoyable...didn't realize a the time how tender this memories would become now that I'm 43yrs old. All that said, I now get to experience christmas and life thru my children....my two sons 11yrs and 7yrs... and my perfect daughter 2yrs old. BTW, this song does still some serious nostalgia...doesn't it?! If I try hard enough, I can go back to the Christmas' of past as I listening quietly to this classic charlie brown christmas song. Merry Christmas and thank for reading...
Writer Derrick Bang highlighted that same point. Guaraldi's soundtrack made jazz appealing to kids who came up on rock and didn't want to be seen as 'squares listening to their parents' music.
My wife and I would sit with a drink or two, after all the kids were asleep, the presents were under the tree, everything that needed assembly was assembled and quietly listen to this. I was always the first one up, so exited to see them open their gifts. It was a wonderful time. Kids and grandkids are all grown now but, those days are forever in my heart.
I could be your big sis. Im 67. Christmas was so special back then because it was treated special! You were lucky if you saw Christmas programming for two weeks! Not months like now. @james c Boy, am I aging (rapidly), but really feel the same I was when I was 16 (now am 57). Songs like this take me instantly back to the days when I would look forward to the broadcasting of "A Charlie Brown Christmas", etc, etc. When I was young, I often wondered what it would be like to be an adult. Now that I am an adult, I never new that I would never grow up.
@james c Know what you mean, I was 9 during Christmas 1966 and it was one of my favorites . My Sister was a stewardess for Eastern and she brought her co pilot fiance home by surprise Christmas morning. Back when my biggest worry was getting the sequins pinned to my styrofoam Christmas globe with the smell of pine permeating the room from our 3rd grade tree with its popcorn garlands and paper links. Remember the special Christmas hot lunch with Turkey and mashed potatoes?
When I hear this song its like the whole world stops and everything is peacefull and the there is no hate in the world and you can just feel yourself being enlightened with such great music....
I love how this soundtrack, and the animated special, tangles up both the joy and the sadness of Christmases past and present, and lets us know that it's okay to feel how we do. We only get a little time, as little children, to be completely happy and contented at this time of year, if we're fortunate...and then, as we age, cynicism and disappointment begin to settle in, as with Charlie Brown. And I think the special, and the jazz soundtrack, reassure us that we can live in this bittersweet middle-of-the-road at Christmas time, and, perhaps, find something in it to nurture our souls.
Sean Wilkinson there's a reason Christmas gives people that feeling it's cause Christmas is when Jesus came to save us and at that time we remember or sometimes you just get this feeling that you really want to do something beautiful and kind without even knowing why and that is the Christmas spirit. Sorry about how long that was.
I’m learning this song on my piano. I really want to play it for my grandparents on their piano on Christmas eve. I’m just 14, and I want to make every moment count and make memories before I am an adult. update: Thank you for all of the nice comments, I really appreciate it! I did in fact play it for everyone on Christmas Eve after dinner. Everyone was really happy. They all enjoyed it. I even taught my grandmother how to play jingle bells. What was really interesting about that was she taught me some of my first songs, and now I’m teaching her songs! What a great way to end off the night! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! Here’s to 2021!
My greatest memory of this song was when I was a little boy in New Jersey we all slept over our grandmothers house as I looked out the second story window I saw the once filled new jersey streets was now I an empty snow covered filled utopia, though the streets and sidewalks were empty every single apartment building light was on and I just stared out the window while my brother and cousins drank hot cocoa and watched the peanuts Christmas special next to the heavy lit big Christmas tree while the adults drank coffee in the next room and conversated, no cell phones no internet no distractions with the family ,what a time it was, a time I'll never forget
I hope that Charles Schultz and Vince Guaraldi look down from heaven and smile knowing that their collaboration is still held close in the hearts of so many people.
I get so nostalgic when I listen to this song. I remember the Christmas Shopping in the crowded malls, full of heating. The cold eternal winter fog. The 25 cent hot chocolate my school sold. The School Christmas Pageant. My Mom's cooking. My Dad coming back home from work on Christmas Eve. The Fireplace. Family on Christmas Night. My wool sweater. The Car Heater as we headed to the Sierras on Christmas Day to play in the snow. The orange groves and the buffet on our way back. Moments like that I will love forever and look back to as I hear this instrumental. ❤️
Agreed. A calling for a beautiful past we can never get back. My only hope is that I can give my nephews and, one day, my own children those fond, blessed memories to make them smile for when they are adults and have kids of their own.
This song makes me a better person. It makes me reflect upon all the things I go through in my life, reminds me of the importance of family, community and love. It reminds me of where I want to see myself in 30 years, with a house I can call my own, a loving wife and kids, and a greater relationship with my parents hopefully. To anyone reading, have a lovely day.
its a beautiful song and yes kind of make me cry i think of love one ill never see again especially my 3 dogs i love so much Snows my 4th dog is with me and she helps me through those sorows
it sure does, It makes me feel like I'm still in elementary school. But there's a sharp disconnect, when I was a little boy I didn't pay attention to the melancholy of the song now it's the most pronounced part, but it's still gives me a warm feeling.
Back in the early 60's, Vince Guaraldi composed this song. The producers of "A Charlie Brown Christmas" wanted the use his jazz compositions to score the show. CBS network executives balked at the idea. They wanted to use "cartoon" music. They thought that the jazz score was too "high-brow" for kids. Today, after more than half a century (and several generations), the jazz score, and the show are beloved classics, and a Christmas staple.
Michael M. Charles Shultze hated it and hated this soundtrack - which I don’t agree with at all, due to its iconic character and individuality as a soundtrack. I don’t love all jazz, but roughly 70% of the genre I absolutely adore - which says a lot because that’s on average more than any other genre of music.
As a kid, I cried like hell when Charlie put the bulb on the tree and it drooped.” Why does everything I touch get ruined!?” Even to this day 50+ years later this song makes me sad, thinking some people are lonely or spend Christmas alone. I hope all those ones are safe. Merry Christmas.
I know of a person that believed that of himself that his life was a ruination. Tom was placed in an orphanage, then multiple foster homes, abused by the fosters, and adopted into a stable household only at high school age. His adoptive father died soon after. Tom then married, divorced, drank, found religion, abandoned religion, but loved his adoptive mother to her passing. In the end he suffered from chronic illnesses and pain. He once said 'Everything that I touch turns to s--t'. At his passing there was no service no family. But his will was a beneficence. He had invested in stocks over decades. He bequeathed tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars to a foster agency, and a home for unwed mothers. The lives of those children and mothers, we hope, will be better than what they would have been.
I also think about Charlie Brown and what a maligned kid he was. It reminded me so much of myself. Other kids always putting him down. Little kids can be so cruel.
I still kind of feel that way about myself. I've always related to Charlie Brown which maybe isn't a good thing, but I try to make the best of it most of the time. Merry Christmas
Every time I hear this, I'm 6 again. Living in wintry southern Illinois. Anxiously waiting Christmas with a not deceased father and a not demented mother. Time changes everything I guess. But damn this propels me hard back into little boy mind. Everything is right in the world. And now I'm crying.
Just seeing your comment a year after u posted it. Hope you are having some peace this Christmas season and your best memories (and this tune) bring you comfort.
I waited on Vince Guaraldi at the Ahwahnee in Yosemite and begged him to play Linus' Theme on our Steinway to which he graciously agreed, I think there were all of five people in the room, one of my favorite memories...
I hope everyone who is listening to this is well and happy. Wishing nothing but the best for all of you truly. The holidays can be hard, everyone hang in there its all gonna be okay
I remember one time when me and my folks were driving back home from our grandma's farm on Christmas Eve night. We were all talking in the car, laughing, having a good time. And this song came on the radio. And we all just quieted down, and listened to this. A simple little melody from a simple little movie. I don't know what it was about it, but it just made us all... Happy. Calm. And excited for Christmas. Not the presents, not the cookies, just... Christmas. It's really hard to explain, but I always get such a strange feeling around Christmas, especially whenever this song plays. I've purposely not bought this song on iTunes, because whenever I hear this on the radio, the feeling just comes right back. Right when it should...
Charlie Brown: I think there must be something wrong with me, Linus. Christmas is coming, but I’m not happy. I don’t feel the way I’m suppose to feel. I just don’t understand Christmas, I guess. I like getting presents, and sending Christmas cards, and decorating trees and all that, but I’m still not happy. I always end up feeling depressed. Linus: Charlie Brown, you’re the only person I know who could take a wonderful season, like Christmas, and turn it into a problem. Maybe Lucy's right, along with all the Charlie Brown’s in the world, you’re the Charlie Browniest.
I'd just like to say two things 1: This music takes me back to a time of innocence. The first time I realized Christmas was a truly special time that wasn't just about getting presents but spending time with your family. It was also when I became slightly aware that life isn't all just pleasant happiness but that it's okay because the rarities of those moments are what make them so special. 2: Where the F%#* ARE MY HARDBOILED EGSS!?!?
Magic is right. The past had so much more meaning, and now in the present, there are allot of stupid songs that have no feel to them, it gives you a hard feeling, like being compressed. This music here has so much more meaning and well thought out tunes that, well, shows the past was a more detailed time.
I feel the same. It brings me back to the feeling of the living room carpet on my bare, 7 year old feet whilst decorating the Christmas Tree with my mom while my dad was in the kitchen. Slow, steady falling snow. The feelings of warmness, love, and childish excitement. Togetherness, and care. TV on the fireplace channel because our little town house didn't have a real fireplace. Not being rich, but not being poor either. A content feeling of being average. I had a group of friends, just like every other kid. Everything was normal and happy. Hoping that I get that game boy that I've always wanted, but knowing that I'll be happy with anything I get. Sigh. Memories.
Ive been playing piano for 10 years now. out of the hundreds maybe thousands of songs that ive played this has to be the most enjoyable. guaraldis music is just so good for everything.
I was working C shift at a large University out in a plow truck before Christmas and heard this song on our local Public Radio Station .There was a light snow falling about two in the morning no one around. I do not believe I had ever heard it before. That time comes back to me each time I hear this, what a memory maker.
@@jmack8767 That was beautifully put. Your words strike true, especially after this year that we’ve all had. We need to be able to marvel and Wonder at those things which we might overlook. People in our lives that we might not realize are also marvels and blessings. Despite everything, this should be be an especially memorable holiday season and Christmas for everyone.
I admit that whenever Christmas time is here plays whatever iciness held my heart prisoners melt in warm furtive tears one seeks to hide from the world. this is a beautiful opus, full of life, humor and the idiosyncratic contribution of the innocent voices of children in many of the songs. I'm fascinated by the executive decision to allow the children's voice to be featured in their pure beauty, and heartwarming technical limits. You not only feel at home but home becomes not a place but a time, a mood, a memory, a yearning but more importantly a quest. The jazzy background of this soundtrack helps us bask that we search, that we mean to live, create or reproduces for those we love. The music gently coerces you to ponder about what we've lost over the years. Have we lost that innocence or have we relinquish it in order to cope with the demands or disappointments of this world. If yes, why long instead of love, why immerse ourselves in a wave of regret when we can twist and twist, jump, laugh and run like children aware that this world changes every day and that never should we want to lose sight of it.
There are a lot of haunting jazz performances of Christmas songs. Artists like Bill Evans, Louis Armstrong, Charlie Parker, Chet Baker, John Coltrane, Dexter Gordon, and my favorite, Duke Pearson's moody version of Sleigh Ride.
Such a beautiful piece so why am I sitting here crying. So many memories as a kid in 1965. When we had open malls to slosh around in when it snowed, then walk into Monkey Wards double doors and a warm breeze would hit you in the face. Those days are sadly gone for good but thankfully we still have the music to remind us of them. Christmas Blessings to all. 🎅☮
Now I'm past 60, this song comforts me that though I may not always be here, what I love goes on and those that come after me will love what I loved and that's all I want and I am content. Merry Christmas
When i hear this i am a 10 year boy the watching the Christmas special "PEANUTS", i can close my eyes & remember that feeling i had, so special. To be a kid again at Christmas is priceless, even if its only for a few minutes......
It's funny how at age 57, I can hear this, and it takes me instantly back to feelings I had as a child regarding "A Charlie Brown Christmas", and Christmas in general as a grade schooler - everything and everyone alive, fresh, and new. Old age and current rushed, high tech times, along with the loss of so many family members have all but erased this new & innocent emotion from me today.
Marty Howe I agree 💯!!! I’ve loved this song as a child and now as an adult. This will be my Christmas 🎄 without my mom and dad physically here on this earth but it reminds of the joy they brought to my brother many years ago. I love them both so much, and miss them.
Very well said! I'm 43 and can't beleive were the times have taken us but also what we have left behind, the important things that brought us here like family.
45 next week. COVID19. Job losses. Lost income. Shut down. Death. Abuse of power by police. Racism. Frustration. Protests. Riots. Looting. The world has never been perfect. And may never be. But we must march on and do our work to make it better. That is the goal. Thank you Peanuts.
Vince Guaraldi picked two wonderful guys for his rhythm section! The bassist drives me crazy, his sound is so fat and beautiful. Drummer is awesome with brushes. And Vince, well...tremendous.
Before I listen to this I know I'm going to shed tears, but I still have to play it because it reminds me of my beloved wife who passed away 2 years ago and who loved Christmas with a passion. This says it all.
Martin Stewart , Dearest Martin, I am so truly sorry for your lost. It brings joy to my ❤️ that you had someone that was very passionate about one of the greatest holidays. From the little that you have shared about your lovely wife she would never be visited by 3 ghosts. Take care of yourself friend, & Merry Christmas to you, and a safe and joyous New year. 🎄🎄🎄🎄
Even though I'm young, this song s already nostalgic for me because my family started to crumble a couple years ago: my aunts' divorces, the death of my grandmother, cousins growing up and not being near anymore to celebrate with a beaten family and my parents not liking each other as well as not liking Christmas at all. So for me this song basically represents what I once thought Christmas should be and what It isn't nowadays. Thanks Vince Guaraldi, your music gives me relief in these times of yearning for the sweet mementos of the past and snow. Hope everyone has a peaceful Christmas Day and Eve.
I guess it’s up to you to keep the Christmas spirit alive for yourself now. Luckily it’s really easy with great songs like this, and movies, and buying gifts and looking at the lights. Have a merry Christmas and good luck out there!
I'm so so sorry the Christmas spirit has been diminished for you. And so young. You're not supposed to know about that til you're in your 40s haha Merry Christmas to you and hope your family somehow comes together .
I hope when you get older you get to have a Family of your own one day with whom you can share a love for this song Merry Christmas and a Happy new year !!
Sorry that you've gone through so much family stuff, TH. Hope things work out better for you in the future. FWIW, I came from a dysfunctional family and I'm 67 today. This music means so much to me because I remember when it was first broadcast on TV. It fills in a lot of holes in my soul that have been there for decades. Peace, brother.
Its something about this instrumental that just encapsulates so many emotion. I listen to it even when its not Christmas. The piano at the end where he twinkled the keys was masterful. Best christmas instrumental of all time. Peace be unto the spirit of Vince Guaraldi.
Every person needs to just sit, relax, and let this orchestration fill every space in your heart, mind and soul. One of the most peaceful, soothing songs to ever have been composed. Brings back so many wonderful memories of my childhood. Spending the holidays in Massachusetts with my grandparents and cousins skiing, sledding, throwing snowballs, making snow ice cream was the height of the calendar year. Oh how I miss those days. The words from Irving Berlin's "Toyland" sums it up: "Childhood's joy land.............. Once you pass its borders You can ne'er return again"
Tania Rodriguez , my son was born on Dec 3rd, it was also our first Christmas in our new house too. It had a fireplace so Christmas Eve my wife made me start a fire so we could take a photo of our first child in our first house together. Well in Dec ‘93 it was rather warm in SW FL so here I am waiting for the camera to count down for the shoot with the fireplace behind us and sweat running down my back... it was worth it 🤗
I was born in 1973, and this music brings back SO MANY wonderful memories. I can smell my mother's cakes & pies, while preparing our holiday feast. The nostalgia is undeniable...🥰
This song reminds me of my dad and mom when we were all kids watching Charlie Brown. Not our parents are with Jesus Christ. It still brings tears to me after 58 yrs young. Merry Christmas to all . God bless you
Had this soundtrack on vinyl in the 70's. Every time it was put on, I usually wound up with my head in my Mom's lap, while she did her crossword puzzles and watched her fave sitcoms. I'd ask my Mom a million questions and the woman had a million answers. I cannot think of a more peaceful, loving place to be. Or, a better piece of music. Rest in peace, Ma. I miss you, immensely.
........she's never far away. My Mom left when I was 14, Jan. 71, haven't stopped missing her. She's been by my side though all these years guiding and loving me every moment, I just can't see and hug her. Merry Christmas to you and yours.

In late November of 1965 at the age of ten years old, the run-up in commericals on AFRTSE, Armed Forces Radio Television Service Europe was just huge. Living in and attending schools in Europe courtesy of the USAFE, when this came out on the 4 hour nightly broadcast, it was a big deal in school then as we oft times as familes were widely dispersed living awy from any other American family. This singular CBS broadcast, will forever remain my most favored time of year with timed musical background to many pof my gernatrions and more to come , fond and wonderfully fun filled carefree memories. Back when my biggest worry was getting the sequins pinned to my styrofoam Christmas globe with the smell of pine permeating the room from our 3rd grade tree with its popcorn garlands and paper links. Remember the special Christmas hot lunch with Turkey and mashed potatoes?
This musical masterpiece is hot spiced apple cider for the soul.
Cherri65 Indeed
Sounds brutal
Great way of putting it: perfect
Right & right
Serious question friend: what’s hot spiced apple cider? Also do you mean hot as in temperature or taste?
When I hear this song its like the whole world stops and everything is peacefull and the there is no hate in the world and you can just feel yourself being enlightened with such great music....
Andrew Esparza So true.
+Andrew Esparza I agree with you...
And I think the special, and the jazz soundtrack, reassure us that we can live in this bittersweet middle-of-the-road at Christmas time, and, perhaps, find something in it to nurture our souls.
doody magoob pas listen to joji-you suck Charlie
Sean Wilkinson there's a reason Christmas gives people that feeling it's cause Christmas is when Jesus came to save us and at that time we remember or sometimes you just get this feeling that you really want to do something beautiful and kind without even knowing why and that is the Christmas spirit. Sorry about how long that was.
My dad passed away the day after Christmas 2020. He loved listening to this song while drinking his coffee. Beautiful memories 💖
I'm so sorry for your loss
May he rest in peace

As an adult, it is harder to get into the spirit...this album is the only Christmas music I need to help do so. Peace and light to all

Peace, love and light to you as well,MorningView. May your Christmas be full of a joyous beauty and much laughter.
Namaste.

you too my man, even if it is a bit late lol
Legend. You won’t regret making good memories, you’ll cherish them and wish you had them back as you age.
Sweet let us know how it works out
I'm sure your grandparents will be delighted that you've thought of blessing them with such sweet memories and so proud of your hard work 💕
That's beautiful man. Good luck
Me too! That’s exactly why I’m here!
Even in April, this is magical to listen to.
Jazz piano and Christmas, there's nothing like it
Just heard it for the first time.dec 2018 special ian
Jazz reminds me of Christmas brunch at the Kennedy center. Go there every year(3
Love it!
Grey Goose Christmas is such a Northern thing too, wouldn't you agree???
A very beautiful memory I can relate to except my experience was in Ohio.

This might be the most beautiful piece of music ever written. Vince Guaraldi was a genius.
Yes indeed.
If not the most beautiful it certainly is one of the most beautiful. No doubt, though, about Vince Guaraldi.
I hope that Charles Schultz and Vince Guaraldi look down from heaven and smile knowing that their collaboration is still held close in the hearts of so many people.
💯
ㅜㅜ💚💚
It was a perfect match.
Indeed, they gave us a beautiful forever gift. 💕
Beautifully put!
Agreed. A calling for a beautiful past we can never get back. My only hope is that I can give my nephews and, one day, my own children those fond, blessed memories to make them smile for when they are adults and have kids of their own.

If you write a book, they'll be wet with tears of joy because your description sounded like I could be there.
In other words, it was very nice.
This is one of the best Christmas songs and it doesn't even have words.
It does have words, ruclips.net/video/SvK3jEXJFdg/видео.html
this song reminds me of my beautiful mother
Technically it does. This is just the instrumental version, but I know what you mean

Song probably extra good because of nostalgia
The piano says it all 💞
This song makes me a better person.
You couldn't have said it any better.
God bless
Happy Xmas 🙂
Couldn’t have said it better my friend. Godspeed Ruben.

Its so true . Merry Christmas everyone

its a beautiful song and yes kind of make me cry i think of love one ill never see again especially my 3 dogs i love so much Snows my 4th dog is with me and she helps me through those sorows
This knocks the cynical right out of me and warms my heart.
The power of music does that like very few other things in life
It is
Word....
it sure does, It makes me feel like I'm still in elementary school. But there's a sharp disconnect, when I was a little boy I didn't pay attention to the melancholy of the song now it's the most pronounced part, but it's still gives me a warm feeling.
Agreed.
Am I wrong to say that this piece is making me water eyed?
it's very nostalgic,it does that to many people..it can make grown men cry
like I am right now
It has that very same effect on me!
Not at all, my friend
No you are not.
Staple

@@thedealer777 lol I have the same issues,
@@nancylevine365 Staples*
It's because of Vince Guaraldi that I now mentally link slow, mellow piano jazz (all piano jazz, not just this score) with Christmas time.
Even people who didn't like jazz loved this song.
i don't like jazz, but i love this piece.
How could anyone not like Jazz????
@@Adam-qj9ec You'd be surprised. It's an acquired taste.
Michael M. Charles Shultze hated it and hated this soundtrack - which I don’t agree with at all, due to its iconic character and individuality as a soundtrack. I don’t love all jazz, but roughly 70% of the genre I absolutely adore - which says a lot because that’s on average more than any other genre of music.
Or as a 4year old began a sonic lifelong love affair with jazz because of this song
@@kirbyculp3449 Love is essential in every life. My prayer is that every child is loved and encouraged.
I still kind of feel that way about myself. I've always related to Charlie Brown which maybe isn't a good thing, but I try to make the best of it most of the time. Merry Christmas

Ben Matthews yes its peaceful
Reading the thoughts and memories this song has inspired is the perfect Christmas card.
I never knew "Charlie Brown" was an adjective. Let alone a superlative!
This is one of my favorite lines from that movie
@@ezrabradford2713 The CharlieBrowniest? 😖
Honestly, that whole TV special is one great big coming-of-age story. It's actually really mature for being an adapted kid's cartoon.
How I hate him.
I'd just like to say two things
1: This music takes me back to a time of innocence.
Nope. When They are painted.
I don't care for gob
Do you need some analrapy to get over the loss of your eggs?

Brings back the magic. The innocence and simplicity of life that has long passed.
Sigh. Memories.
P.S. I did get that game boy, and I still cherish it to this day, even being 18 years old. :)

+FoxieCast thank you so much. I trust that you are well and not feeling too blue (Christmas in April ;-) )

November 2023, time to start listening to holiday music once again!!😁
I’ve been listening to this song all day
Even though I'm young, this song s already nostalgic for me because my family started to crumble a couple years ago: my aunts' divorces, the death of my grandmother, cousins growing up and not being near anymore to celebrate with a beaten family and my parents not liking each other as well as not liking Christmas at all.
🙏🏾❤️🙏🏾
Its something about this instrumental that just encapsulates so many emotion. I listen to it even when its not Christmas. The piano at the end where he twinkled the keys was masterful. Best christmas instrumental of all time. Peace be unto the spirit of Vince Guaraldi.
Peace to you too, man.
It's almost kind of a haunting melody. How it can take you back to your childhood. Just for a moment. And then sad when it's over.
Same! It’s good during the Christmas season but it’s still a great jazz instrumental hood on any day you wanna play it.
The words from Irving Berlin's "Toyland" sums it up:
"Childhood's joy land..............
Once you pass its borders
You can ne'er return again"
Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas, 2023

In late November of 1965 at the age of ten years old, the run-up in commericals on AFRTSE, Armed Forces Radio Television Service Europe was just huge.
Living in and attending schools in Europe courtesy of the USAFE, when this came out on the 4 hour nightly broadcast, it was a big deal in school then as we oft times as familes were widely dispersed living awy from any other American family.
This singular CBS broadcast, will forever remain my most favored time of year with timed musical background to many pof my gernatrions and more to come , fond and wonderfully fun filled carefree memories.
What a time it's been.
Christmas music during summer is great. I should do this more often.
