    Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
    Words by Sammy Cahn, music by Jule Styne / arr. Gordon Goodwin
    Item: 00-33368
    Series: Gordon Goodwin Series
    Format: Conductor Score & Parts
    Level: 5
    A medium swing chart in the style of Basie and Hefti, you’ll love this Goodwin adaptation of the wonderful holiday classic. Not a drum showcase, but the drummer has plenty of solo space beginning on brushes then to sticks and the intensity rises. There is a flute part on second alto (can be omitted) and a percussion part for vibes. Optional solo space for alto, tenor, trumpet and trombone, lead trumpet range is to written high E plus a nice sax soli round out this excellent chart. This chart is so nice, you’ll want to play it all twelve months a year!

    What a beautiful arrangement. The way he brings the melody across from the trombones to the saxes and to the trumpets, it's simply amazing. If only there were more arrangers like Goodwin...

    If you don't have a high note trumpet player, forget it. Nothing sounds worse than badly intonated high trumpet.

      @@applepieisgud8780 that won’t go well with the other trumpets playing above the lead line. This chart requires a strong lead player, so I’d see it more suited for college as opposed to high school in most situations.

    I feel like the only grade 5 part is Trumpet 1 with a high section the player also needs to have in tune and nail the articulations.

    • @ankushparmar2662
      @ankushparmar2662 Год назад

      And the sax soli, but usually trumpet 1 is the hardest part of any jazz song

    • @zackwoods5077
      @zackwoods5077 Год назад

      @@ankushparmar2662That sax soli is definitely up there in difficulty to nail as a section. Everyone needs to be in sync with articulations in a multi measure 16th note run or it sounds like garbage if even one of the five is off.

      There’s 6 grades in difficulty. This is grade 5 so it’s pretty hard

    • @anthonygiordano792
      @anthonygiordano792 3 года назад +4

      Because if it’s not blended right and the leads don’t project like they need to, combined with bad 2nd chair and plus, it will sound bad.
