Thanks for the review. I have a 2021 59px hardtop that I bought to use as a hurricane evac and return unit. 2 months after I bought it, my town took Hurricane Ida's eyewall; I drove 100 miles west to get out of the path. In evacuation, I lived in it for 2 weeks after only using it for an overnighter since the purchase, and it did exactly what I needed it to do. Spent the first evac night in a hospital parking lot running the generator for a/c till I found a campsite the next day with electricity (yes, it's hot and humid in south LA). I've had it for a year now with minimal issues. Enjoy, and Le Bon Temps' Roule!
That is awesome! Yes, it is so nice to have for those situations. Sometimes we just love it when we have long track meets with the kids, gives us a place to have lunch and unwind between events. We have been really happy with it! Let the good times roll as well my friend!
@@CarolinaCampervan Again, thanks for replying. Question...any input on cold weather? I live in south Louisiana so freezing is a possibility for short periods. I really don't want to winterize every time we get a rare freeze so that I can enjoy camping during our mild winters. Winnebago advised running the heater at 60 degrees to protect the water lines on those occasions. I'm still concerned with the lines I can't see below the floor and possible exposure under the rear passenger seats. Last year I drained the Solis during what mild freezes we had, which left my system empty for camping. Any input on how winterized/protected the Solis actually is if I wanted to keep lines active?
@@miken199 We live in Charleston, SC where it does occasionally freeze. I did not winterize last year, but I did do a sanitize. I feel it would have to stay pretty cold, mid 20’s or so, for a while before things started to freeze up. I feel where I live there is no need to winterize unless some weird abnormal weather comes through for an extended period. We went out west last year where we had some really cold weather for a few days and everything was ok! I would say south LA, you should be good to skip the winterization process unless some freak cold front pushes in and stays for a while. Have a great day! 👍
Curious about your satisfaction with the pop up camper. I live in the south too and worry that the air doesn’t cool the top bunk sufficiently. Also have never really appreciated the noise factor with the screen walls. Thoughts?
I have the Solis Pocket, love it. The only thing that I’ve dealt with was a failed water pump. Covered under warranty so no problem just gotta find the right service center when these things happen
Thank you for providing an open & honest review of your van. I especially like that you and your family have enjoyed quality time in the vehicle-that’s what’s important. Wishing you continued fun on future travels. Take good care!
Jason , thank you for that great review on your van because we are going tomorrow actually to the show in Glendale Arizona and plan on purchasing a Winnebago solis 59PK And your review is extremely helpful and I'm very glad to hear that you would definitely 150,000 would buy it again. Safe travels with you and your family. God bless thank you again again, Jason
Thank you for watching and commenting! If you have any specific questions regarding the Solis feel free to ask. Glad to help if I can. I don’t know too much about the specific details of the Travato, but they look nice too! Regardless, you’ll have an awesome van that can take you to some fun places! Take care! 👍
Thanks for the review! We just bought a 6 month old 2022 59P based on the many (many) positive reviews. Yours was really important as your “after a year of real world use” experience sealed the deal. Thanks again!
Great review, your videos were part of our decision to buy a Solis. I feel like it was the best money spent, best time with my wife and kids imaginable.
That’s awesome! Thanks for the kinds words and I agree with you. We’ve had so much fun traveling around with our Solis! Thanks again and have a great day! 👍
Thanks for the review! Great video! I actually had a Wayfairer a few years back, but am now looking into something with AC and more features. Review was great- thank you!
This is a great, honest review. Thank you! Nice to watch a review from another family that travels like us, too. :) We're not vanlifers--just travelers and explorers.
Thank you for your detailed feedback. You mentioned traveling with your family. Would this fit a husband, wife and 2 full grown teenagers in your opinion? Oh, and maybe our dog too. Trying to figure what is best without getting something that is cumbersome to park or take into town while traveling.
@@David-hb9co it would definitely be a tight fit with all of your crew. We carry a tent for our teenagers while camping if the whole family goes. If the weather gets bad, then we can cram in to sleep. But ideally, this is a 1 to 2 person setup, as far as comfortable van living. I hope this helps. Thanks, Jason
Jason, Thank you so much for a Honest opinion of your Winnebago Solis. This is a wonderful review for us to understand and to get really excited about purchasing the Solis. I liked the 150,000% that you would buy it again. The Popup would be great to take Grandkids for "An Adventure"! I'm not sure what the lithium and Inverter is, but I'm ready to learn and get exploring!
Thanks Joey! The van has been great for our family! Just let me know if you have any questions in your van hunt and I will definitely help you out! Have a great day! 👍
Thanks for the great Solis tour. I was wondering if you had considered using wedges on either side of the drain, allowing the wall to block/absorb the pressure of the bulging tank and keep it away from the drain pipe? I'm looking at used vans and this is one of the things I will now check and ask about!
We got a few larger u-bolts that fit over the tank to keep it from expanding. Winnebago also sent us a kit to help the bulge as well. We haven't had any issues. Thanks for the suugestion and watching. Have a good one!
Thanks for the comment! We’ve been very pleased so far with the van. And yes, there are some issues, but considering the price point of the Solis compared to other much more expensive campervans the Solis is truly an awesome van! Thanks again and have a great day! 🤙
Thanks for this review. I also was looking at Wayfarer and other like builds but am leaning more towards risking the problems that come with the solis or Thor Rize. What a great dad you are🇺🇸💫🙌
I'm looking at a 2023 px the dealer wants 108,000. I feel a fair price is more like 93,000. Tomorrow we will settle somewhere in between. Great video. THANK YOU!
Thanks for the honest review Jason, this looks like a pretty sweet setup although I don't see how your entire family fits in there, I live in a 31' motorhome and it feels a bit small but after 3 years I'm used to it. See you in the next episode my friend.
Yeah, It does get tight! We usually have my son sleep in a tent while my daughter gets the pop top. Like you said, it’s all about getting used to the smaller size and keeping things organized. Do you actually full time live in your motorhome? Thanks again for watching and commenting...talk to you soon! 😀
Yes I live in the Motor home full time but not on the road, I have a lot in Port Townsend Wa. My girlfriend and I take it out often, we did a 2 week road trip to Arizona and back last summer with no reservations, stayed in casino parking lots and truck stops for free, never paid for a place to stay, it was a blast. If my channel ever takes off we plan to hit the road full time. Safe travels my friend!
This may have already been mentioned, but I did not scroll through all the comments. One reason the water tank may bulge (not say this happened to you) is filling through the city pressure tank fill. If one does not turn off in time, the tank will quickly pressurize as the overflow can not handle the volume of pressurized inflow. And this pressure causes the tank to expand. Ask me how I know? Fortunately the tank I did this too had lots of space around it. It took quite a while for the water to quit draining through the overflow. A fun experiment would be to fill one of these tanks either the tank or a fitting failed. Thanks for the video. I am considering the 59PX non pop top as Van 2.0 after a good experiences in my Solis 36A. Solis 36A was perfect proof of concept camper van for me.
Great video and seems to be consistent among owners that even with the few items that need some help, everyone would do it again. We currently have a blank Sprinter 4x4 2500 tall van, but no longer have the time to DIY or want to do so. We are hoping that we may be able to sell it and without too much extra investment, get a Solis. How would you say it handles over rougher gravel roads/climbs? My only concern is the clearance if we try to get off the pavement. Nothing too technical, but we have definitely used out 4x4 in the Sprinter before. Cheers!
@@terrabjames we’ve taken it on dirt/gravel more than a few times and it has handles well. I have never pushed the limits on really technical roads though. I’m always conscious of it’s limitations. Have a good day!
Thanks Jason, Have had a 136 for 2 1/2 years that my wife and I find perfect, much more room than my VW Westy. Wayfarer Vans do have a nice niche but with two kids your choice is perfect plus I am impressed at the price. I was able to add an arm rest for my wife, be happy to send info. Appreciate your positive approach. My best.
Thanks for the comment! Yeah, for my family the Solis was a way better fit. Whenever you have a moment, that would be great if you could send me the passenger arm rest set up. I appreciate the help and hope you have a great day! 😀
@@CarolinaCampervan I’m in the market for a Solis PX. I’ve got two girls. I was diagnosed with stage IV cancer a few months ago. That’s the bad news. The good news is I beat it. It changed my life. I’ve always wanted one of these vans for the exact same reasons you mentioned in your video regarding family experiences. I’ve learned not to push things off anymore. The time is now to live. Not tomorrow. I subscribe to very few channels because I am a unbelievably busy software executive here in the Silicon Valley. I subscribed to your channel and wish you good luck, by the way, because of your sincere and genuine approach. And I have the same Segway scooters that you do, lol! We are brothers from another mother! Sincerely and genuinely wishing you the best of luck, my friend! Live for today and enjoy the hell out of your children! Yahooooooooooo!!!!
@@j.andrewwrinkle2172 Man, so glad you beat your cancer! I had a botched surgery in 2008 and lost about 5 years of my life, but luckily I bounced back! I truly appreciate your kind words and comments like yours help me put things in perspective too! My kids are in high school now and I wonder where the time went. On a lighter note, the scooters are pretty sweet! They fit in the van perfectly and there so light to transport around. If I can help you with any other questions you have with the van please let me know. Take care of yourself and I truly hope things keep looking up for you! Thanks again! 😀
Great video Jason. I know you guys have had a great time this year. I’m so glad you guys bought this van. This video should help a lot of wool decide and make a smart choice
Do you find it a pain to have the water hose city connection inside and cannot hook up outside as in other RVs? I saw on another video about the Solis that you either have the water house sticking out of the non closed doors or fill it and then use your water pump and not have the water hose sticking out the back. Great video. I am looking to buy in a few years but the Solis seems to have what I want. I agree with lithium and inverter. Thank you.
@@kerrylewis1325 We don’t use that much water when where camping as we try to utilize the campsite facilities if they’re available. I could see it being an issue for some folks, but not for us. Thanks for watching and the comment. Have a good one! 👍
Great review and very interesting! We are picking up a new 2023 Solis 59PX in a week. It had an issue with the generator shutting off after a few seconds, so we left it at the dealership. They wanted us to purchase a $4,300, 5-year warranty on the RV that covers the chassis and living quarters. What are your thoughts on purchasing an extended warranty? Thanks for the Amazon link on the seat covers also!
Thanks for watching! Personally, I never buy warranties on anything we buy. I feel if your product is that crappy, I will never buy from you again and will tell everyone about my experience. Also I usually just squirrel away some money for future repairs, knowing it’s inevitable. We’ve had the van for over 2 years now and Winnebago has fixed any issues we’ve had so far at no costs. (Replaced my coach switch and mailed me a bulging water tank bracket.) We’ve been very pleased with the van so far and can’t wait to head to the Florida Keys on Thursday! 👍😀 Thanks again for watching and I hope you have a blast in your new van!
Yes, since we have teens, we typically have one that sleeps up top and then one in a tent. You can fit two smaller children though, you can even fit two sleeping bags up there. It is a Full XL mattress. - you can have ventilation via opening the windows- two of them open with or without a screen.
Great honest video. We are also a family of four and trying to decide between the P, PX or potentially a Mercedes Sprinter based model of a different brand. How much of a concern has been the lack of AWD/4x4 in your trips? What is the portable AC unit you have purchased? Have you considered buying a portable generator?
So sorry for the late response! We haven't had the need for 4x4 since we've been traveling around. No issues yet, but then again I don't drive too much on crappy roads. We got the AC unit at Costco. I think it was around $500 and it has been a game changer! The nice thing also is we just take it out of the van when we don't need it. I do have a few goal zero power stations, a 500x and 1500, but honestly use them much. As far as issues go, Winnebago actually sent me the bracket for the bulging water tank. Also, factory recall on part of the stove that was fixed for no charge. We've been very happy with the van and just let me know if you have any other questions. Have a great weekend! 👍
Thanks again, Jason! Have enjoyed watching your videos. Felt like I was able to visit locations I haven't seen before. Thanks again for sharing your experiences!
Thank you, jason, for your honest review. I am still looking for a van and Solis has been one I’ve been considering. I like the 59 PX, because I have two cats I’d like to travel with and would need all the extra space available. I think it is great that you and your wife work full-time, yet, you are able to travel and share this great country with your kids. What an educational and adventurous opportunity for all. Have another great year on the road.
Thank you so much for your kind words. Yes, it has been great and I am sure you will love whichever option you choose, as long as it gets you on the road and exploring. Ours has been great to explore new places and hopefully instills a sense of adventure and love for travel with our kids. Take care and again, thanks for watching!
@@KeywordManagement I don’t doubt that especially the price for materials has increased over the last few years. Good luck on your hunt! Have a good one.👍
Is there an air conditioner in the 59P? I read there is some smaller coleman A/C, but can't find info on it, wondering about when you are sleeping how to keep it cooled. Thanks
I have been full time in my Solis 59P for just over a year and would 100% buy a new one if something happened to it (accident or whatever). It's just absolutely perfect for my needs. Agreed on wish-list item of awning style windows. It's tricky sometimes during rain - usually if it's not too windy I pop the top and open the windows there (since the overhangs of the pop top being out further prevents most rain from coming in) and put on the exhaust fan. Personally I like the AGM batteries because many times I am in below freezing temps at night so I don't have to worry at all about keeping them warm, and if they only last a few years it's not that bad since I can replace them for a couple hundred bucks at virtually any auto parts store at a moment's notice. The armrest is just an unfortunate Dodge chassis thing (the 2500 doesn't come with passenger armrest but the 3500 chassis does). Interesting that you got yours from Camping World as I have heard horror story upon horror story. How was your experience? From what I've heard, they get you in the door with those low advertised prices but they make most of their money by really padding out the financing rates, so in the end, even if your sticker said $79k, you might be paying $100k or way more based on interest rates and all the added fees.
Thanks for watching and 100% agree with you! Love this van. I have been able to go on so many adventures with the family. It has been great, regardless of the minor items I listed. With you being full time, you must have seen some pretty cool places as well! What has been your favorite place? Yes, camping world was not the best experience, but more so because we flew out to get the car and their computer system was down, so it took forever. Then we had a bit of a drive back. When we had issues after the fact, they were very slow to respond as well. Price was what was advertised apart from tax and doc fees, so typical. Although, I did ask for the total price when we were on our calls and got a finance contract before our flight. Really appreciate you watching and maybe we will see you on the road :)
@@CarolinaCampervan My favorite place to drive through and explore has definitely been Arizona. Nonstop driving views, cool and historical places to visit, hiking and biking opportunities abound. The contrast between the flat desert areas/valley and the abrupt and tall mountains or the deep winding canyons make for amazing views.
I’ve had nothing but great experiences with camping world. If you don’t know how to shop or have common sense when making aany major purchase like this can to dealerships taking advantage of you.
I was considering this model for solo vanlife, but I found several negative reviews about it. Also, because the space in a van is so small, having more than one person living in it reduces its shelf life.
@@Jesusislord-y4l sounds like you may need a bigger RV! Not sure how the size of a van or reduces its shelf life, but hey you might know something about shelf life that no else knows. Have a fantastic day!
guess it depends on your sleeping bag or how many blankets you have. It is just canvas, so it does get colder. We typically don't use it when it is really chilly out.
Hi Jason, it’s 2 years later, we’ve had our Solis for 2 years now and still love it. Do you still own yours? If not have you chosen a new van or are you done with van life?
@@sfcmiddle We still have it and are still loving it. No major issues and we’ve gotten to see some amazing things. Some of my best times are just going to a local park and hanging out for the day. Thanks for watching and the comment. Safe travels! 👍
Love this! In research phase and planning on getting a van in next few months-this REALLY helps! Only other critical question: Gamecock or Tiger?! Grew up in SC, go Tigers!
So far, so good for us! Other than changing the oil and rotating the tires, we've been good to go. I haven't heard of anything concerning about the engine or transmission. Thanks for watching and the question. Have a great day! 👍
Guys would love to know about heater , why they don’t instal gas heater instead of propane? On winter in pain in the ass all the time to re fill the propane we know only thing spend a lot on f propane is to warm the van right? Another question , can you stay off grid without to run generator in any van ? Or this is a dream …. That can’t happen
we typically only use the heat then it gets really chilly at night and when cooking, so don't have to fill up too often. We have a P, so don't have a generator and have stayed off grid often.

Hi Glen, Thanks for commenting. Maintenance has been pretty easy. We have not had any problems- we don't have a generator or AC (except our portable one) and the pop top has not leaked.

Thank you for honest review. did you have any flat tires? I see that you had to install a spare tire on the back. How hard was it to change the flat? You might nit have had a flat.
Hi, we have not gotten a flat tire yet. I just installed the spare tire holder to give us a peace of mind when we are traveling through more remote areas.
Hi, yes, check out this video- ruclips.net/video/FSr6Qv8yFyM/видео.html, we use it a few times a year, but really helped when we went to the keys last year ;) Happy Travels.
Nice review Jason. Your videos and advice helped us pull the trigger on our red 2021 59p last fall. Heading down your way to Edisto Beach State Park in a few days for our first time after winterizing and looking forward to going on many of the same adventures like you’ve done. Thanks man!
Have you had any adults sleep in the pop-up? I was just wondering if it was comfortable and does it rock the van if people go up and down in it? I’m thinking about buying a Solis I am single and I might have to bring a friend with me every now and then and I want them to be comfortable up there.
Thanks for watching and the comment! The pop top is very comfortable and I have slept up there many times when my wife kicks my out for snoring to loud. 😳 It’s quite stable and secure and doesn’t rock unless it’s really windy out. It basically the size of a double bed. Hope this helps and have a great day! 👍
Thanks for watching! I don’t know for sure, but II would say at least 300 lbs. The ladder is a bit less around 250 lbs if I remember correctly. But, I’ve a seen some big dudes climb up there in other YT videos. Thanks again and have a great day! 👍
Thanks Jason! Excellent video. What is the brand of shower head replacement you bought? We need to replace ours. I was fortunate to get Winnebago to send me a replacement water tank. Hopefully we can meet y’all when we come to visit our grandkids in Chapin SC
Hi Carol, Thanks so much! I apologize for the delay, we were doing some traveling. Glad we were able to connect on the forum, placing the link here incase anyone else needs it: amzn.to/3CXGFb9. Yeah, that would be great. We are not too far from Chapin! Take care and let me know if you have any questions.
thats actually a pretty short list of woes comparatively. I just encountered this model and while I like it, as is usual its too small by a couple inches in just about every direction. I was annoyed to find that the pop top hatch doesnt go over at least the stove and sink because thats where you want to stand to do the task.
Yeah, we have been pretty lucky. Just got back from a trip, and it worked great!! My wife and I kept saying it was the best purchase we made, it just allows us to see so many new things!
Yeah, I saw where Winnebago has a bracket to address the issue, but it looks like the c-clamp or u-bolt might be a better solution. As for a mpg I would say on average right around 17. Not too bad considering the size and weight. Thanks so much for the comment and recommendation. 👍
Thanks! Yeah, I found one on RV Trader for $79.5k located in Ohio and reached out to them. This is when inventory was super low. They never got back with me, but then we found one at Camping World in Chattanooga, TN for $107k. We reach out and and ask if they would match the price and they did. So we flew to Chattanooga and drove home. I saw one on RV Trader the other day in Pearl, MS for 99k. That’s about the lowest I’ve seen, but that price should be negotiable. Good luck and thanks for watching! 😀
The cab would be inadequate to cool the entire van. We actually purchased a portable A/c unit that we use when plugged into shore power in the summer months. You could also run it off a generator if you were boondocking somewhere. Thanks for watching and the comment! Have a great weekend! 👍
Just got back from a 2 week 2000 mile trip to the Northeast pulling a kayak trailer and out average mpg was 15.8. Hope this helps and have a good one! 👍
I just reserved a solis PX for spring break. Is the generator on this a generator or does it just run the chassis engine? Can you leave any bedding in the pop top bed? How old are your kids? Are they really hard on the van? We're in the market and if this trip goes well we may buy one. How do the kids like riding in the seats? They seem not super comfortable. Thanks for the video. Helpful. -Mike
Awesome, I think you'll really like it. I have a 59P which does not have a generator, but the 59PX obviously does. It is a stand alone generator so it will power the AC outlets without being plugged up to shore power. The 12 volt and usb outlets will work via the coach batteries without the generator or shore power. We do leave a thin mattress topper in the pop top and we store the ladder up there as well when not in use. My kids are 16 and 13. They aren't as careful as I am, but they haven't broke anything so far! As far as the kids seats, they actually aren't too bad. We've driven with the kids most about 8 hours in a day before and no complaints. Thanks again and let me know if you have any more questions! 👍
We are deciding about renting either a P or PX. We are a family of 4 like yours and will mostly be dry camping with no hookups. I would go with the P except there is no generator. How important do you think the generator is? You don’t have one but does that mean you can’t keep things cold in the fridge? What else might be better with a generator? Thank you!
Thanks for watching and the question. So to me the 2 biggest differences between the P and the PX are the generator, A/C, and extra length. Personally, I like the shorter P and we did purchase a portable A/C that I can remove when we don’t need it. But, I do need to be hooked up to shore power if we want to use the A/C. The refrigerator will be fine with the built in batteries and solar to keep it running and cool. If you are going to be camping in warm weather and you don’t have shore power then I would rent the PX. Really the A/C and the 120 outlets are the only thing that you ‘need’ the generator for. Everything else is self contained with the battery and solar system. The batteries will also charge as you drive so you’re not totally dependent on the solar panel to charge up the batteries. So the long winded answer is, if you need the additional storage that the PX provides and are going to be camping in warm/hot weather, go with the PX. Otherwise, the P will do everything the PX will do in a shorter package. I hope this helps and let me know if you have any further questions. Have a good one! 👍
Thank you! We will be in Yellowstone and Teton in August so do not think we will need A/C (especially at night to sleep when I think is when we would want it if was hot), can make due without the extra space, and like the idea of the more compact driving experience. So I’m sold on the P!
Nice walk through. With regard to the pop up windows. Would be OK on the sliding door, but if over the bed the sliding door could break them when opening. Just an observation.
Totally agree with you! It was just a thought to get more circulation in through the van! Thanks so much for watching and the comment. Have a wonderful day! 👍😁
Great video! Thanks so much! How did you survive without a microwave? I think I'd really miss that. What kinds of meals did you cook? Thanks for any insights!
Hi Michelle, we mainly used the burners, but know that others have installed a microwave or take an outside grill. We have tons of options, If we want to reheat something we just do it on the stove, but typically make meals fresh. cheese quesadillas, spaghetti, burgers, or chicken and veggies are some of our favorites. I have also seen some people use this to heat up pre-prepared meals: amzn.to/3sMoGAd Hope this helps!
Great video! I am looking at getting one and am wondering where you empty the cassette when you go on your longer trips. Has that been a hassle? Do you add chemicals to it? Also, do you know if it fits a car seat for kids? Thanks for the info!
Thank you so much for your questions. Yes, a car seat will fit in the back passenger seats. The cassette has not been a problem. It is so easy to find a place to dump it. I have a video on the cassette toilet specifically if you want to take a look. We use a tiny bit of chemicals. Hope this helps and let me know if you have any additional questions.
Yeah, I think it has to do with the features on the new Promaster, not to mention everything else in the world is going up in price too! The lowest new 59P I’ve found with pop top was 99k. It is located in Pearl, MS. It was on RV Trader. The sticker on ours was 107k and we got it for 79.5k. Might be worth reaching out if your still interested. Throw a number at them and the worse they can say is no. Anyway thanks for watching and have a great day! 👍
Thank you for the video. I purchased my second Winnebago in September which was the Solis pocket. If it’s in my parking spot so I don’t have to store the van. I’ve always had great response from Winnebago and if you have a paint issue I would contact them. Can you tell me what kind of bully bars you put on the front maybe it’s in a video but I didn’t see it.
Hi Sharon! thank you for the comment and suggestion about Winnebago. I have more details on the bull bar in this video: ruclips.net/video/Gz3OtyiMcyI/видео.html Thanks so much for watching!
We do not use it for a personal driver all the time, but do take it to track events or smaller day trips to the beach. It is awesome as an 'in between' longer trips.
Thanks so much for watching! The Solis comes with solar panels already on the pop top and they work great! We are able to dry camp and gives us a lot of flexibility in our travels.
I'm worred about this van staying cool enough for aninals in tow. I asked my sales guy about insulation and he laughed and said we should only expect temp. to change by 20% from outdoor temp with 2023 solis air-conditioner. Your experience with temp?
I have the 59P which doesn’t have the installed A/C like the 59PX. We do have a portable A/C that we use during the summer months. I would say the insulation is adequate, but not exceptional. I have heard that the A/Cs in vans / small RVs do not cool like an A/C in your house. So I would say a cross the board, the salesman figure of 20% is probably accurate in hot, hot weather. There have been several Solis owners that have added additional insulation to the van. Personally, I would never leave my dog in a van just in case the A/C fails while I’m out and about. Thanks for the question and have an awesome weekend! 👍

That is awesome! I love the pocket. Wish I could have one of both :)
Thank you for providing an open & honest review of your van. I especially like that you and your family have enjoyed quality time in the vehicle-that’s what’s important. Wishing you continued fun on future travels. Take good care!

Great honest review - thank you!! My wife & I are torn between the Solis PX vs. the Travato 59K. Both are great products!

Nice to watch a review from another family that travels like us, too. :) We're not vanlifers--just travelers and explorers.
Thanks so much! Have a great day! 👍
Howdy from a fellow SWLer! I'd like to do some van traveling and see how well I can receive stations in different parts of the U.S.
I was thinking of getting this van for travel work. After watching your video, it really motivated me to buy more. Thanks for the hinest review.
Good luck! We really enjoy the van and it has been awesome for my family! Have a great day! 👍😁
Great review. There are signs of quality issues with parts and installation Winnebago should address. I'm holding off my purchase.
Thanks for the comment! We’ve been very pleased so far with the van. And yes, there are some issues, but considering the price point of the Solis compared to other much more expensive campervans the Solis is truly an awesome van! Thanks again and have a great day! 🤙

Good luck!- How did it turn out?

Thanks for the feedback, it may help others. We don't use it that way. Cheers and Happy Travels.

@@CarolinaCampervan I’m in the market for a Solis PX. I’ve got two girls. I was diagnosed with stage IV cancer a few months ago. That’s the bad news. The good news is I beat it. It changed my life. Great video Jason. I know you guys have had a great time this year. I’m so glad you guys bought this van. This video should help a lot of wool decide and make a smart choice
Thank you, it’s been a blast! 😀
Good review! Only thing is you didn't mention the "pop-up" top. I am assuming it sleeps 2 small people. Any heating or ventilation at the top?
Yes, since we have teens, we typically have one that sleeps up top and then one in a tent. You can fit two smaller children though, you can even fit two sleeping bags up there. It is a Full XL mattress. - you can have ventilation via opening the windows- two of them open with or without a screen.
Thanks!
…and now that you are roughly 2 years into ownership, any other major issues or concerns you have with it?
Great review, like the generator option; have fun with it!

How hot does it get in the back when driving in the summer? I’m concerned about no AC unit in the back.
It has not been an issue for us, but we don't have people sitting in the back while driving. those in the passenger seats are fine.
Excellent review video! Great information about what happened with the pipe and what you did to replair the wall under the sink. Thanks for sharing!

Is there an air conditioner in the 59P? I read there is some smaller coleman A/C, but can't find info on it, wondering about when you are sleeping how to keep it cooled. Thanks
No, there is not an AC with the P, but I have another video how we stay cool in the summer. The pocket and PX have an AC though.
I heard that the Solos is loud on the highway. True?
It isn't too bad. It is louder than our car, but to be expected.
Great video thanks so much. Hey what is the weight limit on the sky bunk?
I think there is a c-clamp fix for the tank that's fairly easy. How is your mpg?
Yeah, I saw where Winnebago has a bracket to address the issue, but it looks like the c-clamp or u-bolt might be a better solution. As for a mpg I would say on average right around 17. Not too bad considering the size and weight. Thanks so much for the comment and recommendation. 👍
Thanks for the review, any chance you would want to share the place you got the Solis at, you seem to have gotten a great price!
Great review, thanks. How do you do without AC and a generator? Can you use the cab AC too cool down the van a bit, or is that just inadequate?
The cab would be inadequate to cool the entire van. We actually purchased a portable A/c unit that we use when plugged into shore power in the summer months. You could also run it off a generator if you were boondocking somewhere. Thanks for watching and the comment! Have a great weekend! 👍
Thank you for the review! Very helpful!
Glad it was helpful! Happy to answer any questions you might have. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for the review. What mpg do you get on average?
Just got back from a 2 week 2000 mile trip to the Northeast pulling a kayak trailer and out average mpg was 15.8. Hope this helps and have a good one! 👍
@@CarolinaCampervan That's pretty good, and pulling a trailer. Thanks!!
Thank you so much…very helpful. In exploring stage…Wil ask questions when I know enough to ask one.🥰
Glad it was helpful! Feel free to reach out if you have any questions along the way!
Great honest review
Thank you so much! I appreciate you watching.
I was wanting to get one of these but the prices went up soo high it's become impossible now.
Super review, thanks!
My pleasure! Thanks so much for watching.
Thanks for the review appreciate this soo much
No problem!! Thanks so much for watching.

What do you Solis owners think of the versatility of this rig to drive on a semi regular basis and as well as for trips?
We do not use it for a personal driver all the time, but do take it to track events or smaller day trips to the beach. It is awesome as an 'in between' longer trips.
Have you ever thought of adding solar panels? Could it be done with the pop-up like it is? Awesome video! Happy travels!
Thanks so much for watching! The Solis comes with solar panels already on the pop top and they work great! We are able to dry camp and gives us a lot of flexibility in our travels.
Such a unique rig! Love it!
Thank you so much! We've had a great time with it so far! 😁
