I own and travel in a 2018 Travato 59G...also have an electric bike but went with folding bike to be able to store inside so less worry about theft. Also carry a folding ORU kayak on the roof, a Brava Oven for cooking, wet suit with snorkeling gear, switched out tv for Apple computer with versa mount, Starlink with extendable flagpole, and almost never use campgrounds. Current trip is Key West, Fl to Banger, Maine then up to Newfoundland, Canada, across to Deadhorse, Alaska, down to Homer, over to Skagway, then to Miles City, Montana and back up to Glacier National Park and currently outside Libby , Montana. So far I have only paid for 3 nights inside Glacier NP at $10.00 a night.
@@EECCTravels I do very little planning and never make advance reservations allowing me to travel at the speed I want. If I like a place I can spend more time for example I am now staying at a Corp. of Engineer Campground called Blackwell Flats outside Libby, Montana for free for 2 weeks. I use IOverlander app almost exclusively.
@@jerryjenkins5739 This is the way I'm seeing to go if you really wanna do the traveling. Great information. As I seen another couple 1st rented a van went to amazing places before getting a 5th wheel then settling with kids home schooling etc. To another couple i follow just recently checking out these campsites and last minute just to see what they could find. They found all they needed on 4th of July weekend. Was told most all always have a availability for drop ins coming by there way. They used apps also. But didn't gey free. How are you getting for free? Boondocking? Thank You I can't wait to get to Keys & Many more gorgeous places.
We love our Travato K . Our home base is Florida and we went to Nova Scotia for 2 months. Headed out West this summer for a few months. Easy to drive, fits everywhere ❤
Just found your channel and subbed.I dream of the van life but it probably won’t happen. I am a solo lady full time RVer. 92 years old in October 2023. I had a 37’ 2000 Bounder for years. Loved it. Finally downsized to a 2016 Monaco TREK. 28’ and realize now I would have been better off in a 30/32’ coach. However with some mods, I have made it work for me. It does have great storage and full body paint. I would have a hard time fitting all my stuff in a B as I sell jewelry on Ebay. Even with that, I am temped to try it. I think I would go with a G however as I need a desk/workspace area. I also prefer the larger frig in the G but do love the storage closet in the K. I will be following your adventures!
This is off topic…sorry. I just wanted to say ….. a video came up from 4 years ago Carnival vs NCL…. You two have grown and developed so much. I love you both in short hair and thank you for sharing your experiences. What a way to love your job! Most of all, your smiles and energy is contagious! Thank you for all you do!
Your comment about the van being not as noisy as the previous class B+ (or C) really hit home. We have been trying to decide on what class our next RV will be and noise, ...comfort while driving, etc. make a difference. Thank you for another excellent video.
I would guess that outside noise (i.e. when sleeping) will be a bit less of an issue in a quality class B as well, at least in comparison to low and mid-range class A/C motorhomes and towables.
Have a 2020 59K and love it. Husband is handicapped, wheel chair goes on rear tire mount. He can "shower" sitting on toilet, for a week or so trip its fine. Wet wipes is the key....ok enough toilet talk, but the freedom after having Class Asand Class Cs is awesome. Did I say easy for wifey to drive??.
Back in the 70's when custom vans were all the rage, I built my Dodge extended van with pretty much the same layout as the Travado K. Of course, instead of sink and cooktop that area was the bar. Swivel seats up front and rear double bench and table that converted into to full size bed. Bathroom was located in the bushes to the left. Super functional! Tons of fun. Now that I'm 65 I think I'll feel right at home in the Travado K. With the added feature of indoor plumbing. Can't beat that.
HI Guys!! Great video as usual. Love to see your smiling faces. I love the fact that the van is so easy and comfortable to drive. We have two medium - large dogs, so when we camp it's the need to accommodate them that stops us from the smaller RVs. I appreciate that you all mention what is good for you. I like the info on the bikes too. So great to see you guys on the road and I just can't stop watching because you make the adventure so real and positive. Thank you for taking us on your ride along!!!
Thank you for the great review! Talking about road noise and storage was great. My only reservation about the Travato is the small fresh water tank. It's still one of my top picks!
I live in New Orleans and one of my biggest dreams is to have a rv van especially during hurricane season. There two elderly grandmother's and a child and sometimes a RV is the perfect solution. Thanks for the informative information I have been following you guys and think you two are great 😂
We have been stressing about buying a B-Van or a class C. Thank you for helping us out we have now decided to go with the Travato 59K. The twins was a must for us also. Merv & Charlotte
My wife likes to cruise and I do too so I have been trying to convince her to try camping which we did for years when our kids were small. No retired we have the flexibility to be gone for extended periods. I have had your van type in mind to purchase, I just need to get her onboard. Thanks for the information.
So happy to see you’re still camping!! We cruise and camp and loved watching both for you all! We actually just booked our longest camping trip for us and that’s a 15 day trip to Key West camping down the Florida West Coast down and back (from the Florida Panhandle).
I like the way you talked about evolving into new things. Our interests as well as our body changes and it's ok to stitch gears and try different ways of enjoying life.
You definitely made the right choice. I wish to be half as organized and thorough as you guys! Watching your vlogs will get me there! Loved those fans.
Hey I know you guys, you use to do cruise videos! I am a big fan! I guess since the kids are grown you two are living a different lifestyle! Good for you ♥️
We bought a 2020 trivado last year took off went South. We can get around easy on gas. I pull my 6 by 12 motorcycle trailer. And I'm ready to go again now. I'm waiting for a knee replacement and my 3 dogs. Already to go and I have to wait. What a bummber. I am ready to hit the road and have some more fun in the trevado, K Happy trails to you.😎 By the way, I like the video makes me like mine even more.🎉😂😂
We have cruised the Panama Canal, we just did a 7-day Alaskan cruise (and enjoyed your recent videos) and are booked for a two-week cruise around the tip of South America this January. However! We started to RV in a Class A diesel pusher with a tow car, went way small with the first edition Sprinter Class B, and then settled into an Itasca Navion Class C with bunk beds (we sleep much better!) and e-bikes off the back end. Everybody has their own comfort level. It took us three tries to find ours. Love your channel.
I looked at vans like y'alls. Seems they have tripled in price in a year. I would take off by myself at 67 in a minute if price was not a problem. Safe travels and keep sending us fun stuff.
Great video! We’re considering. Thought about a B+ unit, but concerned about easy mobility. Don’t want to tow… seems like a complete burden. Wondering about the ease of navigating in the travel van. I’ll be doing (lady driver) majority of the driving. Thanks for sharing you experience!
Thanks for Alaskan HAL video. We went in early July as per your advice and tips. We had a fantastic time. Excellent service in Club Orange dining. Recommend. Thanks for van video. I might try to rent one but not buy one. Thank you for kind hearts. ❤❤
I sooooo wish I had seen this video before we went with the Thor Gemini right after we saw your first video when you got it! We've had tons of problems. Maybe a van is in the future!
We LOVE our Travato 59KL with the Lithium. We've had ours for almost 2 years and never had to plug in to electricity. We use it all the time for day trips. Lots of dinners at the beach in Carmel CA.
We have a Coachmen Nova 20C. We are coming up on 3 years with it and LOVE it! We just got back from a three week trip to the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Royal Gorge, etc. We agree with you that van life is a good decision for a couple. So nimble and no need to tow a car behind. Ours is named Cara (short for Cara-Van. 😎 Happy travels to you.
This would be a great way to cruise out of different ports without the dreaded airline travel , or even doing back to back cruises out of same port or several cruises out of same port on different lines w the comfort of the RV eliminating cost of hotel room.
We downsized from a Class-A to a van. Love the rv lifestyle! A B-class makes traveling so much easier than an A-class. Chose the American Coach Patriot MD-2 w/lithium package. I’m tall (6’4”), so needed the king size bed and lithium package so we could boon-dock easily.
Yeah, I could defiantly live in a van. I car camp part time and travel around the US sleeping inside a Toyota RAV 4. Do you drive and park at cruise ports? I've been thinking about doing that more out of my car because i feel like it might be cheaper than plane tickets and hotel rooms. I know some cruise ports are much cheaper to park at than others.
Oh thank you for this video, I would love to meet up with you as I'm exploring RV living as my next move and it's been a while since I've camped so I sure could benefit from your organization skills.
Easier to park for cruising- we still love our Gemini and most likely buy a second one in a few years- we’ve put in 10,000 miles in the 1st year big cross country trips- I’m glad you eventually found what you needed! Happy Camping-
I love your van. Sometimes smaller is better. We are a family of 4 and have a 16’ Scamp Travel Trailer. It’s tight quarters and we have to be selective about what we bring along. I feel that makes us enjoy our adventures more. I’m glad you feel you made the right decision! ❤
Really enjoyed this as did many others. Took me back to when you first took to the road 😊 and you’re both looking great and really informative. For that, as always, I thank you👍 and always gives me cravings for a top class barbecue 😊
We enjoy our 22KL after nearly 3 years now. Had a few issues early on, mainly with the Volta lithium but all was taken care of under warranty and in a timely fashion. Hard to find a rig this small that when you make up the large bed with the 2 twins it's just shy of a King. We don't have acrylic windows and happy for that, they do have some issues with other owners. The fact we can park this in our driveway that has some slope was big, as was the fact it gets decent gas mileage and doesn't break the bank to drive. We've had it at 11K ft in CO and the 6 speed drives nicely. We're not campground people and often use golf courses that have tons of open parking at night and normally in good areas and quiet. We park anywhere and everywhere with the Lithium and rarely plug in. Bathroom in the back of the KL is nice, can shower outside if you want commode is as far away from living space as possible. So far so good for us.
Hey guys, loved your "One Year Later" video. I've been studying up on camper vans and have decided on the Winnebago Travato 59K. Now I'm working on the wife trying to convince her to sell our Airstream and buy a Travato. After 21 years of camping I'm looking to move into something simpler to cut down the stress level and interested in easier parking. I hope your video convinced her. We live just south of St. Francisville, La. and hope one day to run into you guys. Safe travels and enjoy. Billy & Sandra
I could definitely live in a van! I look forward to the day that I can travel around and see the USA like y’all do. Another great video. I have been watching Y’all since 2018 & as y’all mature so does your channel especially the technical quality. I appreciate your style of giving us the information in’s and out’s with enthusiasm and positivity. Y’all are the best! God Bless y’all and safe travels♥️
This was a super helpful video. Thanks! I have been trying to decide between a travel trailer and a class C. Now I am thinking that the van might actually be a much better choice for what I want to do. Also, loved the info on the ebikes!
We had 2 Navions. Latest was a 20 D. We loved it but wanted to try towing a trailer. We love camping in our Sol Horizon Rover, but towing, not so much. We are selling the trailer and looking at Travado.
My sister and brother in law been doing that for yearsssss , shower at the campsite instead of the shower, in their RV, that they have . And they have a good size camper and very nice one, I might add. It's much easier to show at the campsite.
We drive a truck otr right now and are iut for 3-4 wks at a time, so we would be in absolute heaven to have that much space. Lol. Im trying to talk hubby into making the leap.
Always love watching your videos!!! You guys have such a great presence in front of the camera 😍 Any chance of another travel related Q&A video in the near future?
Absolutely love the rockers chairs. One question, have you ever been stopped by the cops due to the bikes hiding the turn indicator lights? great video.
I first saw the rockers on VanTrekking Lifestyle and put them on my to buy list, but was concerned about their bulky size when folded in a van. He just did a video on WHICH chairs are best, but I still want the rocker. Each to their own.
I am very interested in getting a travato. The more research I do it seems Winnebago has had quite a few recalls for Travagi and Ekko plus maybe Sprinter. I live 100 miles from a dealer for service. Stuck as to what to do
Yes we’ve had two recall notices, but our van (luckily) hasn’t had any of these issues. I wouldn’t let that deter you from the Travato because it’s been a great van for us!
I love your videos it's not the same old thing. I get tired of just watching people walk about the ship and show it off or what you get to eat. Keep up the great work. Oh and buy the way I loved the one on the smokey mountains.
Nothing for me like a hot shower in the privacy of my own RV. No flip-flops, schleping toiletries, towels and having to dress and undress in sketchy circumstances.
…and I would much rather have a group shower with lots of pretty women wearing flip-flops, lathering me up with soap and toweling me off dry, then white knuckling a behemoth of an RV…I’m just say’n… The sketcher the better, wink-wink. Live a little, lol…
agreed. Particularly now with all the threats of hidden cameras etc. I agree the 'wet room' logic is not ideal, I'd likely forego a closet for a separated toilet / shower in the van.
You two always do such a great job showing what we need to see, whether it's cruising or van/RV life! I appreciate how you tell it like it is, yet have such a great attitude about changing when you feel you need a change. I think I'd have a blast with that van and those bikes! Do you have any type of security system for when you're off biking around, touring, etc. without the van? Or just lock the doors and go? I only wonder because you have so many of your belongings in there (not like a car). Thanks for another helpful video!
Great video! Thank you! I'm retiring in 2027, and I'm trying to figure out which van to purchase. I want to start used. Really liking the souped up transit vans, so far.
I can see the appeal of the van and it being more manageable on the road. Pulling an rv and going to a few states is not always ideal and not every rv park can fit a larger rv but they are kind of small so I do not know if I could down size. You have been doing a few family trips is there a family camping trip in your future?
We went from a 40foot diesel to a 20foot roadtrek zion with 400lithium and drove it everyday as our main vehicle. We never had to use a camp ground with the van freedom of travel. The bus was nice to live in and we towed a car.
Absolutely I could live in a van....the PLUS is all the places that would be easy to camp in off the grid! We have been fulltime in our RV for 8 years now, living the minimalist lifestyle is so amazing but it is not for everyone for sure. In fact we may someday have a 2nd rv and it would be a van for weekending because towing our 39' toy hauler isn't always easy to get into certain mountain locations. Glad you are enjoying your Winnebego, they make a great product!
What do you do about luggage for when you are going from the van to a cruise ship? Is there a place to store the suitcases or do you use collapsible duffels?
Winnebago >>> Thor in every way. We bought a used small Winnebago Class C on Mercedes chassis, downsized from 30' travel trailer. Do you leave your chairs and stuff out at the campsite when you need to leave? We are still finding that balance between vehicle and camper.
I couldn’t find the fans from your video in the Amazon store. Mind telling me where we can find them? Love the video. We are buying a 59k or kl because of you!
Appreciate our honesty. LOL! I am looking to trade in my Winnebago Vita for a Winnebago Travato 59 K. Is it easier to find parking? My Vita is only 24' but still hard to find parking in shopping centers and at rest stops if the truckers have all the slips.
Parking really isn’t any problem being only 21 ft. We usually park in the back of the parking lot anyway just because it’s always easier getting in and out.
Love your video’s. Questions: where do you park the van while on a cruise? What is the CCC on the van and have you gotten it weighed? Lighter fluid under your bed? Sounds a little scary. Keep up the great content! Just subscribed.
I have a 24' Class C that I'm selling, but I do love the large tanks on it and the huge refrigerator. How have you found downsizing to the tiny tanks and refrigerator space? It's a very big difference.

Thanks so much!!
I love however you travel. The new grill and E bikes are awesome
Great video you guys - will definitely check out vans! Did you look at many vans this size???
We did and this was our favorite lay out!
My sister and brother in law been doing that for yearsssss , shower at the campsite instead of the shower,
in their RV, that they have . And they have a good size camper and very nice one, I might add.
It's much easier to show at the campsite.
My wife and i used our van to go to the city park for Fourth of July. People were jealous!!! LOL!!!
May I ask what year your Travato 59k is? I love it!!!
Van is the way to go for sure, good choice 👍
We drive a truck otr right now and are iut for 3-4 wks at a time, so we would be in absolute heaven to have that much space. Lol. Im trying to talk hubby into making the leap.
Another Fantastic video! I liked how ya'll told about the van and what it had. Glad to hear ya'll do shower, even on your trips. :-)
Always love watching your videos!!! You guys have such a great presence in front of the camera 😍
Any chance of another travel related Q&A video in the near future?
We do need to do another one!
We love Winnebago Travato K! The best B van EVER!!!
Absolutely love the rockers chairs. One question, have you ever been stopped by the cops due to the bikes hiding the turn indicator lights? great video.
Y’all are super cute. I appreciate the information shared. I’ve never seen the rocker chairs, very cool.
Thank you!! We feel the same and that’s why we don’t want to just cruise. There is so much to see and do in the USA!
Nothing for me like a hot shower in the privacy of my own RV. No flip-flops, schleping toiletries, towels and having to dress and undress in sketchy circumstances.
…and I would much rather have a group shower with lots of pretty women wearing flip-flops, lathering me up with soap and toweling me off dry, then white knuckling a behemoth of an RV…I’m just say’n…
The sketcher the better, wink-wink.
We just lock the doors and go. We also add a bike lock when the bikes are at our campsite or strapped to the van.
Great video! Thank you! I'm retiring in 2027, and I'm trying to figure out which van to purchase. I want to start used. Really liking the souped up transit vans, so far.
I wonder what is the total carbon footprint and other measures of environmental impact difference between RV life versus bricks and mortar.
I would TOTALLY do this, my husband, well not so much.
Thanks guys!
I can see the appeal of the van and it being more manageable on the road. Pulling an rv and going to a few states is not always ideal and not every rv park can fit a larger rv but they are kind of small so I do not know if I could down size. You have been doing a few family trips is there a family camping trip in your future?
We would love to buy the kids a travel trailer so they can camp with us! Hopefully one day we can make this happen.
Looks great. Thanks for the review.
We went from a 40foot diesel to a 20foot roadtrek zion with 400lithium and drove it everyday as our main vehicle. We never had to use a camp ground with the van freedom of travel. The bus was nice to live in and we towed a car.
It’s a great way to travel, camp, and go to cruise ports. Perfect size.
We have friends that full time in the same rig as you and they are thinking the same thing. Either a van or a truck camper for short trips.
What do you do about luggage for when you are going from the van to a cruise ship? Is there a place to store the suitcases or do you use collapsible duffels?
Great video, as always! Thanks for the info!
I really like the Travato floor plan. As a solo traveler, I need a computer workstation with elbow room for streaming. Is there room for that?
Love your vlogs guys many thanks can’t wait for more adventures
Winnebago >>> Thor in every way. We bought a used small Winnebago Class C on Mercedes chassis, downsized from 30' travel trailer. Do you leave your chairs and stuff out at the campsite when you need to leave? We are still finding that balance between vehicle and camper.
Great video and information! Thanks for sharing!
Yes! I could live in a van! But we camp part time- occasionally in a 17 foot trailer. ❤
I couldn’t find the fans from your video in the Amazon store. Mind telling me where we can find them? Love the video. We are buying a 59k or kl because of you!
We found these at Walmart
We owned a Class C for a year. Road noise was bad. Agreed.
Always great and well done content. I couldn't live in a van but I do want 1 for traveling
It really is so perfect for traveling!
Thank you for this It helps me to make some decisions on these RV buying.👍🤗
