Today marks 4 months of being away from my abuser. This song woke me up big time. If it continued I would've been dead, or wound up like this. I left with the clothes on my back, and it was the best decision of my life♥️ I'm so grateful for every day I wake up safe, and free.
This month marked four years since my day of freedom !! This song speaks to DV on so many levels its insane people dont talk about domestic violence enough and their arent enough laws protecting woman and children
Not to take away from the meaning behind the song yet it needs to be said that this track has one of the greatest productions ever. The levels, audio field, ear candy are all top notch! There are certain subtle aspects that beautifuly accentuate the emotions of the song and I absolutely love it. For me, this is masterfully done piece of art!
I grew up with a father who would beat up his own wife and daughters. For years I spent my life locked up in my room sneaking out the window which was on the second floor (yes I'd still jump out) not caring about the impact. Years went by and my father ended up kicking my mother out of our home. My father was an active soldier so as soon as he was sent out of the country my mom took my sister and I with her. I was 9 years old at the time and I am 15 now. This song really made me cry. My mom had to deal with him longer than I have. I have no idea how she could do it but now she even got her name back and I'm glad. Thank you for this amazing song. You guys truly are amazing.
As a survivor who is battling the WORST kind of criminal THANK YOU. I've been fighting a battle in our criminal system for years to try to save my children and THIS COULD EASILY have been me. Luckily I was talked into pepper spray. There are few bands as lyrically masterful as you. I LOVE your lyrics, your videos, your general destain for the way the world is. PEOPLE ARE LISTENING. PLEASE DON'T EVER STOP.
I was given up for adoption when I was 12. I remember being adopted and day dropping a plate breaking it by accident. I just manned up and walked up to my new mother and raised up a sleeve so she could burn me with a cigarette. I just thought being starved and being hurt was normal. I still have the burns but I'm better now. This song made me weep like a baby. Thank you.
I hope your new family taught you love after all that amd didn't make it worse. If I was your mother amd a 12 year old came up to me n did that... I would dropped to my knees amd hugged you once I knew what u were doing.
Hey my friend, I hope you are feeling better now. I hope you’ve moved on from your painful times. I hope you’re living a healthy and happy life now. Best of my wishes to you.
I Been a punching bag since I was 17 it never stop ,the verbal abuse and put down's .been with this guy do to I promise I made to his father. but on his death bed stole my property. THEORY do it again! I have never disliked a song by this band. I discovered you in 2012 when I was just 14 years old. I know every single song. No band is like you. No band gives me the feelings TOAD give me. The emotional connection I have with your songs. You've helped me through so much. I'm 21 now and this November I am going to see you in London. I can finally afford to and an opportunity has finally presented itself. Excitement is a total understatement! Sure, you've changed your songs but I've embraced the new you. People need to accept something for what it is, not what it was. If you don't like their new music, don't listen. Stop complaining! They've been making music for coming on 20 years, so of course it's expected they'll want to change it up a bit! Once again, awesome job THEORY. I can't wait for November and 31st January 2020!!
watch their next album will be heavy metal and they'll whine that their songs aren't poetic or meaningful enough. Or they're too emo. I guarantee they mostly changed their sound because enough people didn't like how they sounded before!!! How do you please everyone? They wouldn't have made a song like this if they didnt know there was an audience for it.
I am a big fan of metal and i like nothing but metal but after listening to this my tears started to flow.....): Awesome song thanks guys for dooig this
Same…just tears… my husband was very violent and abusive to me and shot himself while I was sleeping next to him and I just know this could have been my story
Powerful for men too. Woman and men are just as violent when they THINK they are right. No one wins. Circle of emotional nonsense. Move on..... sometimes that is the only way.
@@kimberlyfaudree974 l completely understand. When your whole world crashes. You got to take deep breaths..... And try and remember it's not you, you're not a bad and they may not be either. Do what you have to do to free your mind than your body. Sometimes you just got to get hard
This song to me is a call to arms to stand up against unreasonable violence in any walk of life. Key word unreasonable. There are moments where someone needs to be put on the ground, but anytime you do that, you must keep a clear head so as not to go overboard and only act in defense of yourself and others.
I just got out of a really abusive relationship with my sons mother it took alot out of me broke me as a man a person a fatherly figure... But this song made me stand back and fight for justice and I finally spoke out and now justice is being served thank you for doing this its helped me and hopefully many more out there to the men and women that are struggling with domestic violence be strong build up that beautiful confidence reach out and please get help. I pray for everyone that has experienced and are going through this. Much love and the grass is greener on the other side I promise 🙏
Just when I thought I couldn't love you guys any more you released this masterpiece ❣ Thank you for bringing attention to Domestic violence. Often, no one cares until it's too late. The same goes for suicide. The signs are there its just easier for people to look the other way. I can't wait for the new album. I love you guys and thank you for sharing your talents with us. 😘💕🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
Only problem is that even when people know the abuse is occurring nobody wants to believe or if they do don't understand the real life altering effects of it and abuser is overlooked. The message was she felt it worth blowing the monster away even if it meant prison * freedom* he won't be able to hurt anyone else. The woman in this video is a hero
Yes, I agree. That's why I mentioned that no one cares until it's too late. Meaning that the people around the abuse see what's going on but fail to act. They play the "willfully ignorant role" because they don't want to get involved. Which is why things like the abuser killing thier victim, or the victim becoming so desperate to stop the violence that they take matters into their own hands and kill thier abusers. Only then, do the bystanders decide to have opinions and feelings about what happened. It's the same way with suicide. When or if a depressed and suicidal individual actually gets the courage to ask for help, they are often told that they are attention seeking and told to suck it up, they don't have a reason to be acting that way, treated as a burden and basically dismissed. Only when the person takes thier life does anyone take them seriously. Then its obviously too late. In both situations the individual is looking for freedom. It's very sad but it is the world we live in.
@@avab1733 Very well put! couldn't have said that better , it's so true. So many think time will simply heal as well even if not in the situation anymore. Trauma is insidious however and is long- acting..far reaching, life and mind altering.
Hearing this song is almost a page out of my book. I didn't kill my abuser,he was lucky that his gun was out of the house that night. For me I can relate to it.
The city's on fire The streets are a riot Now look at this place, no one is safe No one is safe from you So beautiful, she knew it every single day Got a smile that left him right around the way Yeah, makes you feel good, wondering why she stays So afraid, afraid of you She need a sedative to get a strain You know she need a cigarette, she got the shakes Put them sunglasses on to hide her face Such a waste, a waste on you Tell me, why you ashamed? Too scared to run away You love him anyway Surviving just on the pain The city's on fire The streets are a riot Now look at this place, no one is safe No one is safe from you Oh, look what you've started (Started) It's a history of violence (Violence) Now look at your face, no one is safe No one is safe from you Maybe the way out is a .38 God gave her a sign, not a moment late Tonight she's gonna point it at his fucking face Bang-bang, he's blown away Tell me, why you ashamed? Too scared to run away You love him anyway Surviving just on the pain Tell me where she went wrong She is sadness in every song She knows someday that she'll be gone Until then, please, stay strong The city's on fire The streets are a riot Now look at this place, no one is safe No one is safe from you Oh, look what you've started (Started) It's a history of violence (Violence) Now look at your face, no one is safe No one is safe from you Still in shock from the blast, sure the neighbors heard it Now or never, crossed a man that it wasn't worth it No regrets from what the judge calls a bad decision Now she's doing twenty years in a women's prison Yeah, she'll never have her life, will she feel at all? She'll never know what it's like not to feel alone No kids that will love her unconditional No cure for a sickness that's medicinal She's flying high in her cell, she can finally breathe She's flying high outta hell, now she finally free Man, he fed her to the lions, that monster He promised her diamonds for silence It's the history of violence The city's on fire The streets are a riot Now look at this place, no one is safe No one is safe from you Oh, look what you've started (Started) It's a history of violence (Violence) Now look at your face, no one is safe No one is safe from you Now look at your face, no one is safe No one is safe from you Oh, look what you've started It's a history of violence Now look at your face, no one is safe No one is safe from you
A few things I think are actually different, Then bang, he's blown away She hears sadness in every song Now or never, crossed her mind that it wasn't worth it That's just what I heard.
It’s hard for people that have never dealt with domestic violence to understand the impact felt by the victims. I was diagnosed with long term severe PTSD from all the trauma I experienced as a victim of domestic violence, many look at me as I am on bullshit. They also victim shame. There is so much ignorance still regarding domestic violence, people don’t understand the dynamics of it all, they don’t understand how victims can stay in the situation and not just leave. They don’t understand how it scars you for life. I normally never post on public sites as I have zeros tolerance for ignorant comments that come from those looking for attention by replying hateful comments but I thought just maybe someone might read and know they are not alone in their suffering from the aftermath of DV. Stay strong you are survivor wether you are still in the situation or have escapes. Believe you deserve better that you are not the POS your abuser has made you believe you are.
My Mom left me at 3 over drug abuse and my Step mom abused me at 4 until 11 and im only 13. Didn't tell my Dad till I was 8-9 when we drove to pickup some pizza and broke down crying. Had a whole mental breakdown and than he explained how he felt something was up especially after she started getting into violent arguments with him. I have OCD, Depression, and PTSD. I don't know what caused the OCD but the PTSD and Depression was definetly from the beating and screaming. I go into panic attacks that end with a mental breakdown and I get angry at tge littlest things. My Dad got into another toxic relationship with a liar with drinking problems. Idc about drinking problems as the people should be supported on beating the problem but she has wronged me and my sister to the point I hope she dies. Wrecked her car with my sister in it while drunk driving, told different stories to different people and when my Dad got told the truth about an event he sticks to her story instear of the truth. Want him to dump her and move on but love doesn't work like that so it isn't likely. He's very love blind. I just hope that life starts to be easy and happy again like it was before the abuse when me and my sister and step siblings would play outside, before my step moms true colors came out. Life took a turn for the worse but like the B.M.T.H vid. "Every Scar Will Build My THRONE" and we will all use these scars as a learning experience to forgive and forget, to live not die, and to fight when needed. We are stronger than we feel and doubt and embarrassment can't stop us. We are better than the ones that wrong us.
@Stuckgrenadepin Dude, come on! Nobody is saying men aren't victims of violence. Same way they're not saying there isn't starvation in Africa and Tsunamis in Indonesia and that those issues don't need attention. The topic of this video happens to be about female victims of domestic violence. I don't see why this makes you angry.
Time keeps passing by, it seems I'm frozen still, in this blackness and this roaring of voices that don't turn down the volume in my head, messages different but always the same, seems like darkness with voices calling to me, with pain of scars left behind from something, really real that happened, husband almost kills his wife bc he's jealous of her furthering her own knowledge and increasing her own vibration, he instantly fights her on this bc he is a wee little man held back in the sands of time, with guilt and and degrees of adultery to their precious world, until it crumbles at his feet and she flees instantly fighting, not flighting, for her own life away from him, a new beginning, a new life, I love my life now that I'm not being mentally abused and now that I'm in a non domestically non violent household finally I get to live in and be free in and who better to do it with, y'all always get me thru, no matter what it is, I just tune into radio station and all my troubles fade and I'm healed!!! love you guys❤️💕❤️😍🙌🏠✍🆓➡🚫
Wow. I've heard this song on the radio and felt an attachment to the chorus. But this is first time looking it up, let alone the actual music video, and I'm literally sitting here in tears in the middle of my desk job at work shortly after 1:00 Like. . . wow. I've been in that situation, had all those exact experiences, even gave that exact face in the car afterwards. That hit me harder than I thought it would. .
The first time i heard this song was at their concert about a week after it came out. people complain about a pop sound but the message is so much more important. this song had a room full of grown adults either on the verge of tears or crying. artist change, they mature, the sound they make will change. this song represents so much that even if you dont like their new sound you should just be able to respect them for maturing as artists and for telling a story that needs to be heard.
I never comment but I have to say this. It's been 3 freakin years since I've heard a good song from start to finish that is lyrically impactful. I think this song is underrated and I want to say I appreciate Theory of A Deadman for creating this, well done!
To those that say this isn't toad, they're growing and evolving. You can either grow with them or stay stuck in the past. A true fan loves everything a music group does, there's never a oh i don't like this because it doesn't sound like that, i love theory of a deadman, and i own every album. Just my opinion.
I have to say this song brought both me and my girlfriend to the edge of tears. The message is so heartfelt. I just left your show at The Signal in Chattanooga and wow I've waited for years to hear you in person and it was astonishing, the show was incredible thank you so much.
TBH I don't actually care that it's not like their older stuff. I appreciate what others are saying but the message in this song is so much more important. Men, women and children suffer daily through domestic violence and in 2019 it's still not talked about enough to help people escape the right way 💕
Dawny I’m with you there, they are one of few bands I listen to these days that always has some sort of message or moral behind it and with every line and every chord of the song you can just feel for the people that go through there own silent tragedy. You never know what goes on behind closed doors
@@starlightreign9932 I don't disagree. One of my favorite artists approached this a lot more poignant and blunt - Atmosphere - Last to say. That being said, i'm glad at least they are talking about it.
Never been abused, never witnessed abuse in my home, but the visuals of abuse make me burn under my collar. Sherman, set the wayback machine to my teen years; Back when I was a teen, in highschool, I was on my way out to the bus parking when I saw a heated argument between what I assumed to be a boyfriend and girlfriend. I didn't pay it much mind, was none of my business. Suddenly his hand went up and slapped her across the face, she started crying. Something snapped in me. I approached the guy, fist clenched, but he didn't see me coming cause he was still focused on yelling at her. My fist went flying just as he noticed me approach. One hit and the glass jaw punk of a loser went down. If he wasn't out cold I seriously would have put the fear of God into him at that moment. The girlfriend, of course, went to his defense and was all over him crying because I knocked him out. I got taken to the office where I recounted the whole thing to the principal, who I had always found to be nice yet authoritative. The principal told me off the record I did a good job, handed me a "time served" detention, and sent me to go home on the late bus. That was the extent of my punishment for fighting at school. The girlfriend's parents got called and informed of what happened. She was set up with an out-of-school councilor. Apparently she arrived at home more than once with "injuries" but she had always told her parents they were due to volleyball practice. The "boyfriend" got suspended for a month. They couldn't do anything more because nothing beyond what I witnessed that day could actually be proven. That next week the girl changed schools on the advice of her councilor. I kept in touch with the girl for over a year, she hadn't seen the "boyfriend" since that day and stayed single for months. I saw the ex-boyfriend when he returned to the school after his suspension, and he did his best to never catch me eye-to-eye. She got some delight in knowing that he was spending his senior years living in fear... lol ...The girl eventually found someone at her new school who treated her like a goddess. We grew apart over the years, but I know that today she's an RPN and married (different guy, but treats her like a queen) with two beautiful teenage kids. Am so happy her life has turned out good. I don't consider myself a hero but I often wonder how her life would have turned out if I hadn't taken action that day. Would she have left him on her own? Would someone else have stepped in if I hadn't? I dunno... I'm just glad I did, and I hope others do the same when they see something like this taking place.
yeah I can relate. My dad was physically abusing to my mom. My brother and I used to fight my dad when we saw him acting that way. My dad cheated on her and she got left with me after the divorce went through. My mom is a staunch feminist now and takes a lot of the anger out on me. Which probably is a cause for my anti social, passive-aggressive behavior in public.
this topic is so hard to be open about....I am glad that artist's/music is bringing abuse/domestic violence to the surface in a form that may help people reach out.
It’s been a long time since I listened to Theory of a Deadman, and back then I only really knew maybe 2 songs. I keep seeing comments about how they moved to pop and I do recall those 2 songs I listened to being somewhat heavier than this. But I don’t think this song qualifies as having a “pop” sound; soft rock sure, but maybe only the beginning sounds somewhat pop. And more than that, I feel for the message they aimed for with this song, regardless of the kind of sound they have now.
I'll always be a Theory of a Deadman fan, their musics are great no matter the style, and this song is one of them. I'm excited to see what Say Nothing has to offer.
The power of this message made me cry and I'll say it because I'm man enough to I cried alot I hope more men, women even children hear this song and know they can have a different life they don't need to be abused were all human we need peace not war
Ya'll got talent coming out the wazoo!!! Never let anyone tell you different. Saw you once back in 2011 here in West Michigan and it was EPIC. Gotta take my 14 year old son to a show sometime. CHEERS and keep up the great work Tyler and Co.
I heard this song like 1-2 weeks on my local radio station. I instantly fell in with the song, the melody, the lyrics and the execution. Beautiful song
THIS is THEORY. A nice, PERFECT hybrid between the rockish with the despair in the voice and the deeper chords but with a light, semi-poppiness added to it. Finally, some good f***ing food.
Firstly, this isn't perfect. It's pop garbage. You're clearly not a real ToaD fan, only new, casual fans refer to them as "Theory". Go listen to some Bieber
@@FreshOuttttttt Real ToaD as in Santa Monica? Gasoline? Or their following evolution? By the Way? The Truth is... (I Lied About Everything? End of the Summer? Know your place, trash.
@@FreshOuttttttt Correction, your place is within the replies section of comments where you call people "effeminate fggots" because they have the mental capacity to hear lyrics that mean sonething without dismissing them over the way they sound. The world needs less people like you; what's their new album going to be called again, "Say Nothing"? Heed the advice, clearly anything you DO say is of no worth, "little man."
I heard this song on radio while driving, without knowing I got attached and loved the song so much and found out this is related to me ,beside I won’t harm the abuser! I just walked away and living my life ! I’m in so love with this song and listen often now ! Don’t forgot to love yourself first ❤️
this reminds me so much about me and my ex, he was really abusive... and tried to kill me several times, but I took my courage and got the hell out of there after a year... brings back many memories, good and bad, but this song is powerful.

Been a while since we had a single in rock of this kind. Past and future traumatic experiences from abusive relationships can really make you question if murder as a way out is really worth being behind bars for decades. I still like Blown Away by Carrie Underwood and Face Down by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus more, but this take is just as sad if not more. Musically this is quite underperformed, though.
great video, great composition and direction of the video, the visuals, the drama and the story are phenomenal. the song is great and narrates a problem that takes root around the world, one of my favorite songs from this band. I hope for a new life and a new opportunity for those who are now serving a sentence or suffered some degree of abuse at home.
So, I guess the real reason they went extra hard on savages was knowing that the next two albums would be the exact opposite. Wake up call, kinda grew on me, but doesn't really for into my regular listening tunes. This was a good song, but I get the same vibe. In sure it will be a great album, but like others... When is it time to Rock again?
Theory of a Dead Man always delivers🔥🔥🔥 This album will be just as dope as the others! Variety of Music is great, touch topics that need more light and also Rock out. Oh and my Bad Girlfriend digs it too.
Wow, the idea of comparing the relationship between two people to a city works really well here. Its like, "Look what you've done. You've destroyed the beautiful city you once had. You have created a place where fear, intimidation, and violence are the only communicators. In your selfishness, you have crafted a sickness with no easy cure. A draining, pain in her that may never go away. You have chosen this, and you will pay for it." So important.....
yes well part of it is the god-level egos in this country fed to us by black culture nazi antifa types. If people could just get over themselves none of this would happen.
As someone who has been the abused.. and as a result, been the abuser... this song hits hard home. it's never right to go through this or put others through this. This song tells the story is real life stress and pain .. in both places.
This is one of my favorite tunes at the moment. I grew up as a child of an abusive marriage, watching my dad beat the shit out of my mom on a daily basis. Eventually she got the courage to get out of the relationship, but nothing will ever change for us kids that grew up with this as something we thought was normal. The history of violence was normal for the innocent.
I love this so much!! I do love their old stuff and I do still listen to it a lot but I absolutely adore their new sound... If the new album is as good as the last one (which is sounding promising!!) then it's going to be on repeat for a very long time 🖤
For those of us who have been in an abusive relationship sometimes it really feels like we have no way out. It’s rough going through life being scared and tiptoeing around people afraid of getting hurt because we moved wrong or said something wrong. I think this song was amazing. This band amazes me more and more every time they put out something new.
This song is so great. I'm glad they took a step away from their "old sound". The message in this song is so much more important imo. This is a song that could really help people out!
Amazing song and video!! There is a way out! Leave and never go back i did..and my life changed. Some people really struggle with leaving the control is so great. I had a safety net i understand some women dont. 😧😭
thes is sad noing the world well never be the same but music like thes is a parfait example of 2020 and I hope you all stay seif so we can all get though thes together.
Unfortunately, been there...got out! Get out! It's a weird place to be and like so many said if you haven't experienced it you can empathize but you truly don't know the range of emotions you go through. People can't believe it if you are known as a strong person. One day you wake up and you have no idea who you are which is what they want. I could go on and on and on. If you ever need anyone because you feel like no one understands or believes you please reach out heck reach out to me! The worst you can do is allow him/her to totally isolate you. Much love to those that have been there ❤️
It is a lonely as a DV survivor. I used to think I would never be that "girl" either until I too became that girl. It took me only 2 months after getting involved with my abuser and I wrote in a journal that someday he was going to try and kill me. It took a total of 10 months of torture, threats and more for him to finally stab me and then after fleeing thousands of miles, a name change and leaving everything and everyone 8 ever knew behind. Just because the abuser is behind bars does not always mean it stops either no matter what a person does. Flung into a world I never knew existed except in movies, noone believed me when I did try to ask for help, at some point I knew I was going to have to get out on my own, take drastic measures. It's so hard when noone will listen until it's to late. Even now despite all precautions and steps measures taken. I have become a sitting duck, cut break lines, rerouted heater core hoses and more, took my ability to run away if need be. Seldom does anyone who hasn't been through it realize not only physical damage we go through and the emotional, but the mental strength it takes to stay focused and the financial cost. I wish for solidarity, I wish for peace, never has a song hit home in a way this did... It's so hard to breath. Hanging by a thread
I think it's more important to realize the powerful messages from these last couple songs. Regardless of the style, this needs to be heard and is so real for a lot of people
Today marks 4 months of being away from my abuser. This song woke me up big time. If it continued I would've been dead, or wound up like this. I left with the clothes on my back, and it was the best decision of my life♥️ I'm so grateful for every day I wake up safe, and free.
Really happy for you and hope you are doing well
Stay strong
I hate my ex for years of physical abuse, I hope for his new girlfriend and their 2 year old it never goes to what I dealt with.
This month marked four years since my day of freedom !! This song speaks to DV on so many levels its insane people dont talk about domestic violence enough and their arent enough laws protecting woman and children
This is a jam ! But you must hear “Whispering Wolf” by SLT 🤘🐺

For me, this is masterfully done piece of art!
For sure. Agree 💯. Well said!
I agree. It’s like a short story. I want to further know what happens to her and her story.
As a survivor of abuse this song hit home pretty hard. Thank you theory for making this song.
Nice 2know I'm not alone...
This is a friggin masterpiece
MASTERLOOPS We have our own opinions
I was given up for adoption when I was 12. I remember being adopted and day dropping a plate breaking it by accident. I just manned up and walked up to my new mother and raised up a sleeve so she could burn me with a cigarette.
I just thought being starved and being hurt was normal. I still have the burns but I'm better now. This song made me weep like a baby. Thank you.
I hope your new family taught you love after all that amd didn't make it worse. If I was your mother amd a 12 year old came up to me n did that... I would dropped to my knees amd hugged you once I knew what u were doing.
Omg
I'm so sorry that happened to you. Me and my grandmother just got custody of two of my cousins that were going through abuse
I hope you're doing ok now.
Hey my friend, I hope you are feeling better now. I hope you’ve moved on from your painful times. I hope you’re living a healthy and happy life now. Best of my wishes to you.
Beautifully haunting. Great song about such a terrible subject.
That's what makes it so good. Music expresses. The good and the bad

Songs with stories are the best. Ive watched this too many times now
Same..
It's good to hear a song where the artist has something to actually say. All that about money and women is so damn tired
No such thing as too many time's when it comes to a great song!! .
So fuckin true
I am a big fan of metal and i like nothing but metal but after listening to this my tears started to flow.....): Awesome song thanks guys for dooig this
Right? The vibe is different with this one
Good song 🥺
Same…just tears… my husband was very violent and abusive to me and shot himself while I was sleeping next to him and I just know this could have been my story

been listening to this song on repeat for 3 days straight
This is powerful. The argument for prison coming across as her true freedom from domestic violence is astounding.
Powerful for men too.
Woman and men are just as violent when they THINK they are right.
No one wins.
Circle of emotional nonsense.
Move on..... sometimes that is the only way.
Here’s a novel idea, leave. No need to kill someone.
To the one said leave sometimes it no that easy u get bet down for so long it breaks u and its hard to break that cycle
@@kimberlyfaudree974 l completely understand.
When your whole world crashes.
You got to take deep breaths..... And try and remember it's not you, you're not a bad and they may not be either.
Do what you have to do to free your mind than your body.
Sometimes you just got to get hard
Kimberly Faudree so killing someone is easier then leaving? That makes no sense
Who are U
Just when I thought I couldn't love you guys any more you released this masterpiece ❣
Thank you for bringing attention to Domestic violence.
This is such a powerful song. Makes me tear up every time I hear it.
I love when musicians hit real life events right on the nose. More need to do this. Keep it going.
Yes I love this song when go through this it really fucks with you’re mind!
So true
Hearing this song is almost a page out of my book. I didn't kill my abuser,he was lucky that his gun was out of the house that night. For me I can relate to it.
@Danny Samuelson you must be kidding
This powerfully shakes me inside out
I think of so many memories
I feel my heart quiver

Yeah, makes you feel good, wondering why she stays
So afraid, afraid of you
She need a sedative to get a strain
You know she need a cigarette, she got the shakes
Put them sunglasses on to hide her face
Such a waste, a waste on you
Tell me, why you ashamed?
Too scared to run away
You love him anyway
Surviving just on the pain

Tonight she's gonna point it at his fucking face
Bang-bang, he's blown away

Surviving just on the pain
Tell me where she went wrong
She is sadness in every song
She knows someday that she'll be gone
Until then, please, stay strong

No regrets from what the judge calls a bad decision
Now she's doing twenty years in a women's prison
Yeah, she'll never have her life, will she feel at all?
She'll never know what it's like not to feel alone
No kids that will love her unconditional
No cure for a sickness that's medicinal
She's flying high in her cell, she can finally breathe
She's flying high outta hell, now she finally free
Man, he fed her to the lions, that monster
He promised her diamonds for silence
It's the history of violence
The city's on fire
The streets are a riot
Now look at this place, no one is safe

A few things I think are actually different,
Then bang, he's blown away
She hears sadness in every song

Believe you deserve better that you are not the POS your abuser has made you believe you are.
unless they have been there, they don't know what its like.
I dont anyone will say anything rude to this statement.
Thank you. This means far more than you will ever know 💙
My Mom left me at 3 over drug abuse and my Step mom abused me at 4 until 11 and im only 13.
Yes, no one knows the anxiety and fear of every day!!!
This song says so much....
and too much pain
no one is safe
no one is safe
from you..
Damn.... they nailed it!
It's nice to see a band portraying the truth of our reality.
It hits hard, man. 💯
@Stuckgrenadepin as a gay man i support this, we need more programs for male victims LGBT+ or otherwise
@SicSemperEvelloMortemTyrannis TyrannyEnder people aren't saying that. Stop lying.
Thats theory for you
Right in the feels. So many sad memories come back to me with this song...it’s so sad that so many have to live that way or go through that
Time keeps passing by, it seems I'm frozen still, in this blackness and this roaring of voices that don't turn down the volume in my head, messages different but always the same, seems like darkness with voices calling to me, with pain of scars left behind from something, really real that happened, husband almost kills his wife bc he's jealous of her furthering her own knowledge and increasing her own vibration, he instantly fights her on this bc he is a wee little man held back in the sands of time, with guilt and and degrees of adultery to their precious world, until it crumbles at his feet and she flees instantly fighting, not flighting, for her own life away from him, a new beginning, a new life, I love my life now that I'm not being mentally abused and now that I'm in a non domestically non violent household finally I get to live in and be free in and who better to do it with, y'all always get me thru, no matter what it is, I just tune into radio station and all my troubles fade and I'm healed!!! love you guys❤️💕❤️😍🙌🏠✍🆓➡🚫
Wow. I've heard this song on the radio and felt an attachment to the chorus. But this is first time looking it up, let alone the actual music video, and I'm literally sitting here in tears in the middle of my desk job at work shortly after 1:00
Like. . .
Can't wait for the full album. Love your music guys!
I never comment but I have to say this. It's been 3 freakin years since I've heard a good song from start to finish that is lyrically impactful. I think this song is underrated and I want to say I appreciate Theory of A Deadman for creating this, well done!
Kyle Yates Have you never heard of Tool?
@@joethoman8651 Yes! Also great
To those that say this isn't toad, they're growing and evolving. You can either grow with them or stay stuck in the past. A true fan loves everything a music group does, there's never a oh i don't like this because it doesn't sound like that, i love theory of a deadman, and i own every album. Just my opinion.
Horse manure.
Those aren't fans. Those are sycophants.
Men, women and children suffer daily through domestic violence and in 2019 it's still not talked about enough to help people escape the right way 💕
Dawny
I’m with you there, they are one of few bands I listen to these days that always has some sort of message or moral behind it and with every line and every chord of the song you can just feel for the people that go through there own silent tragedy. You never know what goes on behind closed doors
Truth!!
The message in the song is good but the actual song is pop sounding garbage
@@starlightreign9932 I don't disagree. One of my favorite artists approached this a lot more poignant and blunt - Atmosphere - Last to say. That being said, i'm glad at least they are talking about it.
LITERALLY just got home from their concert here in Ft Wayne,IN.
This song is amazing live.
BRAVO!!!
If you stay, be prepared to defend yourself. If you don't think you can leave, find a way. It's never easy.
I just found out these guys still doing music and was not disappointed
Same. Was never really a fan of their old stuff but this album is intense. So good.
Never been abused, never witnessed abuse in my home, but the visuals of abuse make me burn under my collar. Sherman, set the wayback machine to my teen years;
Back when I was a teen, in highschool, I was on my way out to the bus parking when I saw a heated argument between what I assumed to be a boyfriend and girlfriend.
Good job. 👍👊 We need more people in the world like you who have your principles.
@@jennycothern6375 ... Thanks! I don't consider it anything special. I would like to think anyone in the same position would have done the same.
yeah I can relate.

Great song, great message. Can't wait for the whole album to come out. :)
A deep, cold, vivid story from a couple lyrics... thats what music is supposed to be
Love this song with the story. Theory of a deadman’s always making me listen that’s for sure.

THIS is THEORY. A nice, PERFECT hybrid between the rockish with the despair in the voice and the deeper chords but with a light, semi-poppiness added to it. Finally, some good f***ing food.

Can’t wait for the album!
this song is so powerful. i can't believe this is the first time i am hearing this.
I think Nickelback’s Never Again was also an amazing take at this subject.
Yeah that was one of their oldest hits, too.
Great song sad message
@Broken Mind, Broken World. lol don't forget your tin foil hat bud
great video, great composition and direction of the video, the visuals, the drama and the story are phenomenal. the song is great and narrates a problem that takes root around the world, one of my favorite songs from this band.
Savages to me was more like hybrid phasing into this new stuff and WUC as all this new stuff. Truth ISs was the last pure hard album
There is more to music and rock than how hard it is
Thank God this sounds more like the band I loved for so many years. This is so much better than anything from the previous album.
Theory of a Dead Man always delivers🔥🔥🔥 This album will be just as dope as the others! Variety of Music is great, touch topics that need more light and also Rock out. Oh and my Bad Girlfriend digs it too.
I've followed this band many years, they continue to drop meaningful songs, thank you!
I’m a Metallica type of guy, but this song is actually really good.
FBI Van2960 same brother, it’s really good
Megadeth slayer priest anthrax maiden korn slipknot soad Savatage...
I’m a Dimmu Borgir/Draconian kind of guy and I think this is a really great tune
Metallica, avenged sevenfold, slip knot, social distortion, breaking Benjamin

Wow. Chills. Like head to toe chills.
Awesome work theory. Showing how our society has this problem of abuse happening everyday. Very good tune.
First listen, I liked it. I really liked the video, almost was like a movie trailer...life is happy together until it's not.
So they go from a Nickelback clone to......a band with a message and a unique sound, well played Theory, well played!!!!
Really bad move. Pop music. Sellout. So disappointing. They were cool before, now they make pathetic music...
If people could just get over themselves none of this would happen.
i can’t stop listening to this song
I love this song! One of my favorite songs. The lyrics are so true.
DAMN THIS IS MASTERPIECE!!!
Almost make me cry.
Amazing song, and video to
She's so beautiful!
She can be idk how much beautiful, but that won't help because smoking and tattoos ruin everything. It's so disgusting and unattractive to see.
@@perocigla4425 I agree with the cigarettes being disgusting. Tattoos are awesome though.
@@jasonashley9853 Not a fan of them, especially when people cover their whole body with them.
@@perocigla4425 well I mean yeah I do believe there's excess but I don't generally find them repulsive.
@@jasonashley9853 all right
As someone who has been the abused.. and as a result, been the abuser... this song hits hard home.
it's never right to go through this or put others through this.
This song tells the story is real life stress and pain .. in both places.
I miss their old rock style but I must admit that their pop rock songs are pretty cool.
but his old songs were the best of the best
I honestly don't mind because the message in these songs is just so powerful. I love this for what it is
This is one of my favorite tunes at the moment. I grew up as a child of an abusive marriage, watching my dad beat the shit out of my mom on a daily basis. Eventually she got the courage to get out of the relationship, but nothing will ever change for us kids that grew up with this as something we thought was normal. The history of violence was normal for the innocent.
released on my birthday. like a present from my favorite band
I love this so much!! I do love their old stuff and I do still listen to it a lot but I absolutely adore their new sound... If the new album is as good as the last one (which is sounding promising!!) then it's going to be on repeat for a very long time 🖤
I loved seeing them live at rockfest KansasCity MO
This is one song that's helping me deal with getting out of the relationship I was in where I was nearly killed thank you
I discovered this song and band this year 2020..and I like so much!!!
I agree sweetheart. !ah Peace be with you
this message is good but I do miss the hard rock but when you see this song live it's ten times better
Song is out on RUclips, just look it up.

@@jc1424 you're bro. Thanks. Song is 6/10
I feel the same about Theory as I do about Shinedown
This song is so great. I'm glad they took a step away from their "old sound". The message in this song is so much more important imo. This is a song that could really help people out!
YES. Could not agree more!
I have to listen to this over and over to remind me that he isn't good for me
Realize the truth
Fucking leave him. It isn't love
This song is such a hard hitting one. This video is heartbreaking and so well done.
Man he fed her to the lions that monster. He promised her diamonds for silence, it's a history of violence.
I love the message, I hope that the album has a mix of old and new sound together. If it isnt like that I will still be happy with it
This is one of the best song i've ever seen in my life ❤🔥good job guys
I just want to say thank you TOAD!!! This song touches my soul and I can’t but help to love this song.
I've gotta say, I miss the rock, but the hooks are definitely still there, 1 listen and it's already looping in my head
I think it's more important to realize the powerful messages from these last couple songs. Regardless of the style, this needs to be heard and is so real for a lot of people
This whole album is probably the most underrated of my lifetime
