I don’t know that it’s noticeably quieter but it does idle smoother . I have a hydra tuner on my truck with “whisper” mode. All that does is lower the rpm so I don’t have to shut my truck off in the drive thru
Honestly If you don’t have any problems I wouldn’t go through all this work. If you ever have a cracked or otherwise leaking bowl, this is an option for getting rid of the leak prone and expensive factory piece and all of its associated wiring that melts (you saw mine) and causes drivability problems. You’re also given full control over your fuel pressure In case you have plans for performance mods and it seems to run smoother with this setup. The downside is that you lose the heater in the bowl but I’ve been through a couple winters and haven’t had any issues.
i wonder if i can do this on my campulance e350 its basically same assembley fuel wise but non inter cooled i get tired of gettin in there every few years fixing those tedious fuel line leaks and the water fuel seperator orings doing it now cause smell of raw fuel was coming into the truck cuase the whole v of theengine is fuel of it leaves your cloths smellin of raw fuel to
I couldn’t say for certain because I don’t know how the van engine bay is laid out but if the fuel system is the same you could probably make it work. If your fuel system is the same it’s probably just a matter of mounting the filter somewhere else if it’s different than the truck body.
Did u also do a crossover kit too to even out the fuel going to both sides of the engine ? Or does the kit come with that , cuz i wanna do the fuel bowl delete and the cross over kit with the stanless steel braided line ... Good job on this video too !
I did this to fix all my leaks. But as a bonus it seems to run smoother, cleans up the engine valley, gives you control over your fuel pressure and makes it easier to access things like the ipr and hpop. I didn’t see any effects on my fuel consumption or hp good or bad.
Thank you. I wish I had a more intelligent answer but I just bought the least expensive kit on eBay at the time. When I was looking for a kit it looked like everything I saw was the same kit with someone else’s name on it. The kit I use has been working fine but others have said the pressure gauge they got leaked so maybe they got to many complaints and pulled the listing or are just selling out?
I see that too where they pretty much look the same. I will try one that has a price of $600 or less but the kit does not come with instructions. Can someone install the kit that has some experience in working on vehicles? A shade tree mechanic?
Good morning, Just wanting to see how things are going four months into doing the swap. My fuel bowl is leaking. Hard to access so wanted to make it easier to work on.
The gauge it came with “seems” to be less accurate as time goes on. I think another guy said that his gauge didn’t work at all in his kit. Other than that I don’t have any concerns or complaints about it. I would inspect the factory fuel lines that go to the pressure regulator before you go to far on a test drive. Mine were hard and brittle and ended up causing a big leak a couple days later. My local Napa made new ones for about $10 each, Ford ones were $60 each when I priced them
Yes sir. I subscribed because you responded and your video is extremely useful. I was thinking about changing everything while I was there. But when you put this new system on. It looks to me like it’s easier to change the factory hoses. Is the power-stroke cover still able to go back on top of the engine?
Took me a minute to find my engine cover, it won’t fit without modifications. You’d have to clearance a round the gauge on the bottom half of the cover but it looks possible. You’re correct about access also, the fuel pump, hpop and ipr are a breeze to get to now
@@CameronsonCamera Yeah, I bought the kit and noticed I would need to make a new bracket that will extend the unit back about a 1/4” and the cover will fit. I still have a leak in the valley. Might be the hoses. My real question is did you get a leak on the filter housing area? Mine has a leak, I tightened the connections and filter another snug bit. Maybe I just got unlucky and got a bad kit.
You get some that runs down the side, but It’s not as much as you’d have from an oil filter change. I was concerned about that at first since it sits above the ecm and idm. I personally don’t think it’s excessive I just take it off with a rag🤷🏻♂️
I just installed my kit and it just cranks and won’t start also the gauge on the regulator shows nothing. I primed the filter and I’m getting fuel to the regulator but still no start any suggestions?
If you’re confident that there’s no air pockets trapped in the system and you have no leaks try turning the screw on the regulator downward a little at a time
@@CameronsonCamera I feel like there might be some air pockets just from the empty space in the lines themselves how should I go about making sure all the air is bled out?
If it were mine I’d make sure the filter was full. If it is I would pack some rags around the regulator and crack the lines open with the engine cranking since this is the highest point of the system. Do that until you have all fuel and no air. Obviously double check the all the hoses are routed correctly and valves are open and wires and fuses are good
@@tinnyblacksmith3434 it should default to either 500-700 psi if you unplug that icp, it will be enough to get ya off the road at least in a pinch if it sh&$s out
I didn’t have that on my install but assuming you don’t have any leaks I’d crack open the filter and make sure it’s full of fuel and purge any trapped air. Do the same to the fuel lines at the regulator. If you have fuel and no air in the lines then try adding more fuel pressure by threading in the set screw on top of the regulator a little bit
If the truck is running fine and you don’t have any leaks I would look at the back of the gauge and make sure it’s not covered or blocked by anything. You could also rent a fuel pressure tester to find out if you got a faulty gauge in the kit.
Thanks for the explanation with the details and not the walking through your garage and music, intro was enjoyable.
Thank you for this. I just got the same cheap kit and it didn't have any instructions.
Nice job man, and thank you for sharing your install with us👍
Thank you
Nice and clean I got a 95 dually single cab am doing that
Hey I install the delete kit but won’t start any guess
Thats a big subscribe!
Did you notice if this mod quiets the motor down/ run smoother?
I don’t know that it’s noticeably quieter but it does idle smoother . I have a hydra tuner on my truck with “whisper” mode. All that does is lower the rpm so I don’t have to shut my truck off in the drive thru
What did you do with your sensors? water, fuel restriction and heater?
They are not used with the conversion. I haven’t had any issues with Illinois winters so far
What problem does this solve exactly? Absolutely no issues with the OEM fuel setup on a '96 with over 200k

Thank you. We didn’t do a cross over, just the fuel bowl delete
Wasn't the crossover from the HPOP?@@CameronsonCamera
Hey Chris question for you . Does it help hp and fuel economy or hurt it to do the fuel bowl delete

Morning
The listing is no longer available but would like to know what other brand would you suggest? By the way, great tutorial on the install.

Love the video

whats the idle PSI supposed to sit at? And is it bad if its "too high"?
My truck is happy at 65psi . Excessive fuel pressure can definitely cause all sorts of drivability problems.
I did this delete but my regulator stays on zero but the truck runs.. what could be the problem… I bought 2 different regulators
If the truck is running fine, it has pressure. I would suspect a faulty gage.
Is this for obs only or will it work on a 2001?
Not sure about the hose length. The fuel pumps are in different places but I’m sure someone makes a kit for them
Sooooo, what what kind of mess do you get when the filter gets removed?

I would imagine if you run the shut off valves on both sides you won't have such a mess.

What year is your truck and are you running a stock fuel pump?
Our truck is a 1995 and has a stock fuel pump. We might go electric in the future if needed

So I Just installed a identical kit and the regulator itself is reading "0 psi" but the trucks running fine. Any advice?

Did you find what was causing your regulator to stay on zero ?
Looks good
Thanks
I did this delete and now my check engine light stays on?...........
We didn’t have any issues with the check engine light. I would recheck all the electrical connections in the areas you worked around.
Didn’t see the like for where you purchased your kit?
There’s a link in the description, you might have to push “more” to see it. I got mine on eBay from seller goodparts365. They all look similar
Where did you buy your kit.
eBay, there should be a link to the one I used in the description
I could find it either
There 8s absolutely no problem with the stock fuel system. I have absolutely no idea why you would do this
If you don’t see a benefit for you then you should “absolutely” not do it
The stock fuel bowl is a tragedy waiting to happen. Leaking o rings are Destined to happen
