    Good case study. If antiskid is disabled when using emergency braking. the pilots need to consider that as part of thier training information. This feature is not a factor in some aircraft which retain antiskid availability in all operational modes. a slight tail wind may also be a factor along without lack of grooving on the surface.

      In the air crash investigation they tell us that the pilots tried to skid the plane from side to side to slow it down, without proof. Combined with the fact they "weren't able" to shut off all engines prior to evacuation raises more questions (whether they simply panicked, for example). Bad investigation, as it's presented to the public, unsatisfactory.

I think there is an airport that Dean Martin's song got killed in because its like a going into a cave or something weird and pilots were and probably still are leery about landing into it, and yet, they still use it, or at least the last time I heard they were still using it.

So many theories, it's completely mind boggling with all the conspiracy theories. I hope that one day, we will all know the real truth. Many thanks...

    • @GudieveNing
      @GudieveNing 5 лет назад +1

      Chloe St John The truth is simples. Osama Bin Laden, in an interview with ABC I believe, warned that if America did not pull its forces out of Saudi Arabia, he would hijack 12 aircraft and crash them into various targets in the US. No one believed him, not even after the first attack on the WTC tower years earlier than 9/11. (Else there would have been F16s patrolling Manhattan Island 24/7 since.) He honoured his word, except I assume he could not get enough recruits, so made do with four aircraft. The only conspiracy I believe, of my own conception and shared by some others, is that some deep within the US security services, and def not with the President’s knowledge or authorisation, ‘allowed’ 9/11 to happen as an excuse to retain control of oil reserves over Russia and/or stop the Arabs from moving away from the dollar as an oil trading currency. It had bugger all to do with Israel and/or the Palestinian struggle, those issues were simply inserted into the narrative to distract people from the truth. As I say to anyone who asks how the world works and who pulls the strings: The oil and cocaine industry. Only difference is that one is legal, the other isn’t. But both are toxic and a force for evil, IMHO!
      I feel so strongly about this, I drive an EV and am investing in solar panels and wind turbines to power my stuff off grid and cleanly. And I don’t do drugs either, except Doom Bar. Cheers!

      Chloe St John - not much of a hidden conspiracy. Just a simple open conspiracy. No hidden balls. Any basic engineer understands how a plane bursts into flames when it crashes and how a building falls when anything below 4-5 stories of the top is compromised. I’ve explained it many times and there are people who will ignore basic science and common sense. You just have to ignore these imbeciles. They live to troll the internet with falsehood. We’re in the age of misinformation and disinformation. Some do it for kicks; others do it for a reason.

      All (passinger) aircraft should be built like this, with more power. Not sure people realize how passinger airplanes are like huge useless busses (and in the air). Any manouvering is extremely difficult (and very limited, also due to power to weight ratio).

    • @doabarrellroll69
      @doabarrellroll69 3 года назад +1

      @@user-jh6kx1fw9h the BAe 146 was built like this because BAe wanted it to feature great short field performance and the ability to fly from gravel runways, in the end the four engines became it's downfall as twins simply raked in more profits than the (unusually silent) four. Another notable feature was it's geared turbofan engines, something that Pratt & Whitney is lauding with their P&W GTF engines as "revolutionary" was on this 30 year old plane

      I'm no pilot, but have been watching these kinds of videos for a while now. I believe there is a cut off point to do a "go around" and I believe they would have to have been in the air when the decision is made. They're landing at a low speed in deceleration mode. Not sure they can throttle up to takeoff speed that quickly. But I could be wrong.

I found myself distracted from the visuals because I had to read the text, especially at the end when you were showing video footage from the accident, particularly given the lack of any kind of audio. They couldn’t find the spoiler deployment problem, the pilots and airport took all the blame, THE AIBN DESTROYED, OR PERMITTED THE DESTRUCTION OF, THE AIRCRAFT, with NO MENTION OF BLACK BOXES???? Something is rotten in the state of Norway! From its type name, it sounds as if this was not a U.S.-made aircraft. But, had it been, I assume the NTSB would have been part of the investigation. Would they have allowed the plane to be destroyed and nothing said about the presence of absence of a FDR and CVR on the plane? Is this story really over? Or, did you just forget to include this important information in the story?

    • @sabliath9148
      @sabliath9148 5 лет назад +5

      I've seen this story on the Smithsonian Channel before. The FDR and CVR were used in the investigation, it simply wasn't mentioned in this video. In fact, the investigators used the sounds of the CVR to know which systems and flight control the pilots were using. They know the emergency brake was applied because they can hear the chime which indicates this on the CVR. Also, the plane was destroyed because it fell off a cliff and burst into flames. Most likely, the airline simply decided to scrap the plane instead of trying to repair it.

    • @mpralinsky
      @mpralinsky 5 лет назад

      Sab Liath No, of course, they can’t repair it, and perhaps the Norwegian rules are different, but I thought they would at least try to reconstruct the remains of the aircraft. But, thank you, Sab. I was just concerned that there were no black boxes involved. I think the author of the video should go back and add that in. I kinda thought there had to be black boxes when emergency brakingbut maybe the business about emergency braking was something ATC heard live, not recorded.
