    holy sh** dude i made this today and am eating it as i speak and it is arguably the best sesame honeu chicken ive ever eaten. screw those "chinese" buffets. this is the best recipe on the planet, and i even made it with stevia instead of sugar (which normally ruins things except i didnt have sugar) and just...there aren't words to express this masterpiece. im looking forward to trying the rest of your dishes!

      OneLove Phia Thanks. Now if only I could find a recipe for Singapore noodles (the thick kind). I got the third course covered - rice pilaf.

    • @johanlzq
      @johanlzq 9 лет назад +1

      +Dax Hallman In Singapore, there's not really a dish called Singapore noodles cos we have a ton of fried noodle dishes and they are a slight variation from the different ethnic groups we've here. We just simply call it "Fried noodles" and they are all different depending on which food stall you order it from. You may look up the 2 more popular versions Sing Chow Noodles and Mee Goreng.
      The other thing that makes a difference to the dishes is the kind of noodles used. Again we have a huge variety and they all affect the way the noodles turn out even if they are cooked in the exact same fashion. The thick noodles u are looking for might be Yellow Egg Noodles which has a slight akaline taste that gives it that richer taste and more mouthfeel.

    I just got stoned and decided to try this sauce. Its good. It's too wet for dipping with the extra water though. Next time I'll try 1 or possibly 2 Tbsp water so I can dip chicken strips. Next time I might try an extra Tbsp of honey to override the slight ketchup taste. Definitely easy to make. I rate it 8/10. I made 3 chicken strips and dipped em all. Said to myself damn that was good. Made 2 more chicken strips. Mmmmmmmmmmmm

    Hi chef can you tell me if this can be prepared well before I need to use it.Thank you for sharing.Greetings from Scotland.

      Wee Kate yes, this can be prepared well before. Just make sure you only partially fried the chicken. Just until it turn light yellowish color. Cool them down and refrigerate, then refry them at 180C for few mins. or until the breading is crispy.

    He's not kidding about this dish not being too good for your sexy body - there's close to 3000 calories and maybe more between the sauce, chicken, batter and oil absorbed by the chicken. I'm on a strict low calorie deit for 6 days straight and then I have a cheat day on the 7th day. I planned this dish for my cheat day and it totally kicked a$$. I followed all ingredient/cooking directions verbatim, accept I replaced two of the 5 tablespoons of ketchup with sriracha, so 3 tbsp of ketchup and 2 tbsp of sriracha so as to add a little heat and it came out awesome. I would recommend that ketchup/sriracha ratio to anyone looking to tone down the ketchupy taste and to add a little heat, since sriracha and honey go great together. However, his original sauce recipe would be perfect as is, especially if you don't want any heat.

    What if I don't have corn starch or baking powder??

    • @TheArtOfCooking
      @TheArtOfCooking  9 лет назад +31

      +kousee lee Hi Kousee, you can use potato starch or tapioca starch. You want something that doesn't contain protein. In this recipe there is a combination of both flour and corn starch. The flour will form gluten when mixed which keep the breading in tact and adhere to the chicken. The corn starch is there to provide crispness, volume and make the batter lighter. The baking powder is there to expand the batter when fried because it contains carbon dioxide which expand when in contact with heat. So for baking powder, you would want to replace it with cold flavorless carbonated soda instead of water and leave out the baking powder.

      +kousee lee u don't need corn starch or baking powder The other steps its not necessary
      Here is the version one I made first make your sauce Ketchup sugar honey water = last stepThen blend :D Then do normal breading Egg and flower mix with any season but I prefer not season because flavor will not turn out right
      I would just add seasoning too chicken only but I hope I help because the batter wasn't Unessary
      Try my steps see if u like it fiancé liked mine it was crunchy too
