    🎯 Key points for quick navigation:
    00:00 *Archer is expanding from urban mobility and air taxis into defense opportunities.*
    00:31 *Archer is partnering to develop hybrid electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft with low cost, acoustic, and thermal profiles for defense use.*
    01:01 *Affordable autonomous aircraft are a key focus for Archer, offering new capabilities while reducing costs.*
    01:29 *Archer’s aircraft maturity and a favorable new administration drive the launch of a dedicated defense division.*
    02:00 *eVTOL aircraft require minimal infrastructure, enabling deployment at bases and outposts without runways.*
    02:29 *Regulatory pathways are easing, with Archer targeting the UAE for market entry by late next year.*
    03:30 *U.S. cities like L.A., New York, and Miami are key targets for commercial rollout after UAE certification.*
    04:00 *L.A.’s high-volume, short-distance trips make it a massive market for air taxi services, rivaling global aviation.*

      @@andybrice2711 They actually do. Contrary to what ya might think the government cant simply fly an AC-130 at 200 feet just cause they want to. A Flight plan must be filed and approved to avoid accidents with small aircraft and drones. Not to mention all the drones we are seeing the government cant do anything with anyways. These have all been DJI Mavic's, Phantoms, and T3;s and they are banned from being used in any form of contracted government work. they can only be used for civilian consumer use or business use, business that do not contract with the government. Simply put, that's the Law.,

      There’s no magic military use case either. The USAF had a really good UAV with a 100hp engine. Within a few years they decided they only wanted turbine powered drones with much greater capability. That Archer will likely be much more expensive than a little bird helicopter with less payload capacity and range.
      Most all these companies will go broke, and maybe a couple designs might survive. They will be toys for the wealthy with some being used for avoiding traffic.
      The big value proposition is really wrapped up in it being autonomous, but we can now make any helicopter autonomous. The military will stick to turbines.

    "Mature'? They haven't flown a single passenger or sold one aircraft ... all the test flights are barely manouvering at all and low speeds, lethargic lift off and landing, Goldstein is a money handler not an engineer or designer etc ,irritating voice and cocky spiel using hollow buzzwords.... hopefully the first crashing will be in the petro Arab states where personal rights are somewhat less 'developed' than in America with litigation having once destroyed the small aircraft industry. Flying in 50 degree C temps will show up the marginal performance very nicely.

    • @M63753
      @M63753 Месяц назад

      There is another contender in this industry, and they are far ahead of Archer in design and certification. If you want to understand Archer's rush to market plan, research Excelsior-Henderson Motorcycles, from 1996 to 1999. Archer's doesn't have a cockpit version of their Midnight eVTOL, that allows for a human pilot, so it cannot go forward in testing for FAA certification until they build the actual testable aircraft. The current Midnight is remote control flown only. Goldstein says they aren't going to build anymore prototypes, but are going straight into production at a new $65M factory, to produce hundreds of these a month. Yep, just like Excelsior-Henderson Motorcycle did. Stellantis, as a deep pocket backer for Archer, has money problems of its own right now, and the CEO recently abandoned Stellantis by resigning, over a disagreement with the BoD on how the corporation would go forward. A new CEO and a new pledge of continued support is yet to be announced.
