- I decided it'd be a good idea to play through Splatoon 3 but with the catch that if I died at any point I'd have to delete my save file. For someone who has hardly played Splatoon this was a super hard challenge, I hope you enjoy!

funniest part about this is his floor-painting habits. he aims so far downwards, you can tell he's new to the game
He actually looks pretty good for someone who never played a Splatoon game. There are so many other signs of lack of experience that are not here (probably the most common is that most new players spend too much time walking around in kid form without shooting whenever in a tight spot).
@@spaghetti8044 that is very true. you can tell he is good at video games, just inexperienced with splatoon.
as far as i can tell he's using motion controls too, and pretty much everybody i know who plays shooters besides splatoon turns them off immediately complaining that they suck. (not that i can blame them, i did the same. theyre really hard to adjust to!)

@@sworishina oh they're pretty much objectively the best way to play, but i think so many people get turned off trying them (or even picking up the game) cause everyone in the community is so pushy about it. it's sad to see 😔

Fun fact! The better sensor upgrade also trivializes the Big Man fight, as it allows you to see which shadow belongs to Big Man
yea, i abused that fact to defeat big man faster as i ignored the fake ones
Doing After Alterna but every time you die you go back to the beginning of the game is a fate I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.
Fun fact: did you know you can skip get to know alterna your only choice by repeatedly popping a balloon
But you have to be practically insane to actually accomplish that.
explain how this is done. for research purposes of course...
@@Jayterial I could be wrong, but I believe there is a balloon you can pop that will give you a few power eggs. so you could save a reset and continue popping that over and over for who knows how long until you have enough power eggs to continue

@@glassphoenix9095if he dies then he deletes his game file regardless of when he dies. If he dies then he’s out so it counts
@@ryanm4166 i meant it doesnt count as a splashdown cancel (when you die midair without getting to splash down) because he died after he got the attack off

I've never played any of the Splatoon games or seen any footage of Splatoon 3 before this video, so the fact that the Big Man fight is a straight-up homage/recreation of the Phantamanta fight from Mario Sunshine (my favorite 3D Mario game) makes me very happy. His ooze is even the same color as Phantamanta's, the acid yellow and blue.

Alterna-tively you could try the same Challenge in Splatoon2's Octo Expansion. I think it's a good step up before doing the After Alterna save delete run. It honestly might be even more difficult because Octo Expansion is a lot more challenging than the Storymodes in general but maybe After Alterna does take the Crown, not sure^^'

@@AlyCatVR im positive inklings and octolings have a ton of really interesting biological differences, but mechanically theyre basically different player skins. i also feel like you could get away with calling them both inklings, with the distinction being _squidlings_ and octolings, but they didnt really think that far ahead back in 2015

This was probably everyone's first splatoon game. Now I want to go back and play the old ones.
I wish you luck delving into our history, the first game though, you will need a wii-u for that one so be prepared to have a hard time getting that one. 2 and the octo expansion that comes with it was my favorite experience, and I suggest that if you played 3 already, you go for 2 next, you will see just how different things became

For this being your first splatoon game great job! I would love to see you speedrun or try a challenge run for this game! Also as someone who speedruns this game this was a little sad to watch lul
Honestly, as a series veteran who’s played since the first game, this was a fun video to watch and great run overall.
Though, I’d not recommend doing every level like this, because After Alterna still caved my damn skull in. (Still managed to beat it though!)
Maybe use some sort of emulator and get to the finale where you were (not doing permadeath lmao) and save state back there on death or something. And then also make a save a bit before you get to AA.
Either way, you have switch online, or a spare 20 USD, I’d legitimately recommend the multiplayer. The connection stuff is a bit iffy at times, but it’s much better than it was at launch, and it’s well worth it. It’s fun as hell, and it even got me to buy my closest friend his first Splatoon game.
It still baffles me that they use peer-to-peer netcode for this game and SSBU. There’s literally an unused function to check if it’s running an old Windows version (it’s either XP, 95, or 98 iirc). I hope they switch do dedicated servers sometime soon.
I get why doing all levels is a bad idea, I mean I've beaten them all casually at this point, but I've done really stupid challenges in a similar vein before. As an example, 3D World 380 stars damageless, which is a 4+ hour run that ends with champion's road.

If you're having trouble on the big man fight there is an upgrade that i think is when you go in ink it'll show enemys and things like that and if you get that upgrade it'll show a red square and yellow squares on the shadows and the red one is bigman
if he does after alterna he is gonna spend hours on beating it

I wanna see more, but... please don't do a permadeath run of After Alterna, that'll suck away hours of your life and probably strip away your enjoyment of the game. :( Or at least don't jump into it? Try an all-levels-all-weapons run first instead or something. Or try sweating your way up to Eggsecutive/Eggsecutive 999 in Salmon Run.

Fir I don't think you know but you could have gotten the perk that let's you see all enemy's while you are in ink for big man because that tells you the exact shadow that big man is in
Just a very small correction, it's not that the crater serves as an extended tutorial for alterna, it's that the single player serves as an extended tutorial for splatoon. /s
