- What Super Mario Odyssey would look like if before starting the game Mario got into massive trouble with loan sharks that put him in crippling debt. This was tons of fun to do and make a video on. I should not be allowed to use video editing software.

Honestly, when he was going into detail about Mario taking a suspicious sponsorship deal, I expected him to lead into an actual sponsorship.

The lore behind this is the most believable reason that Mario would die when reaching 0 coins
Change Mario to sonic, or coins to shrooms and a drug dealer and you've got the perfect story.

More that mario is the chief enforcer of the mushroom kingdom's law, being the one who has to save peach every time bowser kidnaps her. The fact that hes in debt to the mafia means he has to tackle the problem directly, even if it means recruiting help from family or random companions. Trying to get Peach to pay the mafia off was never going to work.

She disapproved of his grave robbery as it was illegal and threatened to damage the Mushroom Kingdom's foreign relations.
Alternate ending:
After realizing his nemesis came out all this way out of a slim hope of getting out of debt alive, Bowser decides to pay Mario’s debt in full, and instead of kidnapping Princess Peach, he now kidnaps mob bosses, only letting them go if they cancel the debts of their poor victims. If they do not comply, Bowser either turns them in to Mushroom Kingdom law enforcement of kills them himself. Meanwhile, Mario stops going to illegal fights, and starts cleaning up his life. He decides to make a game based off his wild ride, and it becomes a huge hit, selling millions of copies worldwide

Man, how in debt was Mario? An entire life costs only 100 coins, and Mario had to spend way more than that in this run. Did he really rack up multiple life debts? Or maybe the interest was what got him and only paying one coin at a time meant he never touched the principle.
He really likes gambling on those goombas
Perhaps the serious deflation that recently occurred in the Mushroom Kingdom has something to do with that? After all, a life’s price dropped to 10 coins by Odyssey. Maybe Mario’s debt to the mob was manageable at first, but then his earnings went way down but his debt didn’t decrease accordingly so suddenly his debt was effectively ten times larger even though it hadn’t actually changed…

My parents delight in telling me the story of how I would excrete onto the floor then try to sit on the excrement like an egg. This can be seen now in my nurturing nature, I care for him like I cared for that feces egg.

There was an idea I had in the script where instead of saying "Of course Mario Would" I would say "Mario wouldn't but I would" and transitioned it into a real ad read but I didn't think a sponsor would be willing to let me do that.

Another plot line for this story:
Mario has student debt, and he needs to pay it back.
Because of this, he decided to kill bowser, a mafia boss who has a huge bounty above his head due to him constantly enslaving people, along with constantly kidnapping.
Meanwhile, while he’s on his journey, he still has to pay off his student debt.
He did go to art school after all.

In Mario's world, murder is completely acceptable (except when Peach changed it in that one video, but we don't talk about that)
This was amazing, I admire Fir's creativity.
This is such a unique concept for a speedrun. The story that was put together was funny and intriguing. The video is formatted very well and skips a lot of unnecessary filler. I thought for sure 2:35 was going to lead into a video sponsorship but no Mario just wanted a way to nab a few extra coins. Rest in peace Mario...
