- Nintendo has OFFICIAL announced that the switch’s successor is on the way. In their announcement they say that they’ll be revealing more info on the console later this year. However, we don’t know what that info is yet so today I’m going to be giving my predictions for the switch 2! Will it get mario odyssey 2, mario kart 9, gamecube online? Who knows! So join me as I give my, and some of your alls, predictions for the nintendo switch 2!

historically speaking 3D Mario games have been releasing close to launch so it would propably happen

Furakawa himself even said before that he wants the next console to have a smooth transition for people by still using Nintendo accounts
Hopefully that means backwards compatibility. The Switch 1 has so many good games and they deserve to be played on better hardware
I don't think I'll buy it immediately. I'll be very cautious to see what games will actually be there. After what happened with the Wii U, I've grown less naive and more sceptical.

If we do get menu music, I think it'd be neat if there were multiple tracks to choose from. There'd be the basic one, but also tracks from other games like the Mario 64 file select, one of the menu themes from Smash, the character select from Mario Kart 8, and other themes that'd fit for a main menu
I remember the Wii U eShop music being seasonal. I really liked it because it kept felting fresh every once in a while.

Honestly about the new smash game thing at least to me i doubt it will happen because its not about the fighters getting cut it's about the third party characters and contract issues because Nintendo is gonna have to spending billions of dollars just to keep certain third party characters so if we do manage to have a new smash it would either be a remake of 64 or melee tbh

Well I missed out on that community post. I think it would be nice if it was a lot easier to live stream on the switch 2. PS4 and Xbox One have like built-in software that allows you to just live stream the games on twitch or RUclips or wherever without needing to buy external hardware and plug it into a computer to live stream it. It would be ideal if the switch 2 would have a program on there that allows you to easily live stream a game to RUclips and twitch and elsewhere. Especially since a lot of the time the console might be played in portable mode because maybe the TV isn't available for some reason or you're out and about and maybe not working while you're out away from home and would like to live stream.

Some games I'm fairly certain will be on the switch 2 would be: Metroid Prime 4, a new Smash bros game, Mariokart 9, a remake of stuff like classic Mario, Zelda, Kirby and Pokemon games, a new Mario Party game, open world Mario and Metroid games, Splatoon 4 and more Pokemon games

I'd love it if they added achievements. I have a lot of fun trying to go for platinum trophies on Playstation and it motivates me to go for things I usually wouldn't do. It's the reason I ended up 100% the Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Trilogy. I already like to 100% Mario, Kirby, Pikmin, and Sonic games, and having something on my profile showing it off would be nice.
A lot of Nintendo fans seem to hate the idea for some reason. I remember asking on the Nintendo Switch subreddit what games they'd like to see get achievements, and so many were offended at idea of it. I remember someone replied saying that achievement hunters have never done anything worthwhile in their life and that getting achievements in games are the only things that bring meaning to their life. And dawg its not that serious, i just thought It'd be a nice addition.

I hope they add a Tomodachi Life sequel and not a port like they did with Miitopia.
Sure, Miitopia did add a lot with the mask and wig systems alongside the horse, but outside of that there really wasn’t much additional content to the game.
I worry that they’d do the same for Tomodachi Life and it would feel samey after a couple of weeks and just not have much to do.
I usually don't watch much videos on my actual youtube account because I'm lazy, but I really like the jokes on this channel and I really like mario so I thought I'd go out there and put more effort into watching this channel! Wish I could've been there before 200K subs.
Assuming the Switch 2 has backwards compatibility I'd honestly be OK with Ultimate just receiving a major content update/new dlc that's less focused on simply adding new fighters, adding stuff like new modes, stages, etc. This is also me massively coping because I'm still upset they never fixed the buggy platforms in stage builder.
I’m a little late for the party but I have a prediction. A collection of the first three Smash games in HD. Subspace Emissary in HD would be amazing.
I feel like its not time for an entirely new smash game, but I could get behind a deluxe edition with more overall content (characters, stages, music, etc.)
My only gripe with a new smash is Sakurai’s departure, I just hope the future of smash dont begin to change too much without his touch on this beloved series.

I really want an option to message your friends and have party chat on the system. I hate how behind the times Nintendo is when it comes to social features. They could also make more money off of this because they could sell their own brand of headsets

i honestly think that since nintendo considers tour mariokart 9 the next one will be called mariokart x and hear me out…. IT HAS EVERYTHING, EVERY TRACK, EVERY BATTLE MODE, EVERY BATTLE MODE MAP, EVERY ITEM, EVERY CHARACTER, THE ULTIMATE MARIOKART (obviously with 4-6 new cups of nitro tracks)

Every week for 8 weeks Nintendo adds the 4 most popular (acc. to an online poll) orignal tracks from each Super Mario Kart game in their own Cups (maybe themed around the mario games of the console, like Egg Cup, Bob-omb Cup, Hammer Cup, Boo Cup, Mini Cup, Starbit Cup, Coin Cup, Cherry Cup, Mario Run Cup)
@@WonkyWater-YT that would be the thing tho is it would be the ultimate mariokart, there might never be one after mkx just because its graphics would be superior to all other entries and it would have the most track out of any entry, i have trouble finding a gimmick for mkx except that it has everything in it, and if they wanted to make more courses they could release a dlc and another if they wanted to make more, and eventually carry the game onto the next console, the point of mkx is that it is the definitive mariokart game no need for another after the ultimate roster of literally everything

Probably more something like they release the poll on the games launch day, and have it have each game on it. That way they can release them when they are all mostly ready

A New 2D Zelda feels more like it'll be the Holiday title to tie us over until next year, the same way Mario Wonder was last year. It's a nice midground of small enough that Nintendo wouldn't hold it until the Switch 2 but big enough that Nintendo could position it as the big holiday game for this year.

Nintendo switch 2 launch title ideas assuming there's gonna be five or four Nintendo makes at the start.
- New mario kart
- New Star fox or Metroid game if they decide to give another iconic Nintendo character the spotlight like they did with botw
- a oot or twilight princess remake
- new pokemon game
- Some new game like how the switch had arms and snipperchips
Wild prediction: They bring back StreetPass from the 3DS, or some form of successor to it. However, Miis are not used in a similar manner to what Nintendo Switch Sports ended up doing.
I hope they do, i really miss street pass.
I'm not convinced they'll ever do a GC add-on to NSO, as they're seeing how easy it is to remaster them & sell at full price.
Also, I'm not convinced NSO will be very comprehensive & feature-complete at launch. It SHOULD be, but it's Nintendo & online stuff we're talking about.
For whatever reason, we'll probably still be forced to use friend codes, have no communication functionality (still not even basic messaging, let alone voice chat), lacking media apps again, etc.
I do think they'll offer backwards compatibility (thankfully). I'll be sad if they STILL don't offer an achievement/trophy system. I don't even seek them out in games, but I always prefer buying my multiplats anywhere else than Nintendo consoles because of them. I like being able to see my gameplay history, what I did in games I beat, the % of people who also did these things, etc.
And I hope they bring back themes... it's low effort & would make fans happy, so the only excuse not to is sheer stubbornness.

Maybe better modding support for the switch 2? The only concerns that might bring up are it being difficult and really, REALLY dumb sales concerns. I think it would be a really good feature that allows modding to be more accessible for players not so tech-savvy

Personally, I can't see a new Pokemon game coming out when Switch 2 launches. That franchise typically has a track record of being behind when it comes to releasing new games on new consoles. For instance, LGPE came out a year after the Nintendo Switch came out in 2017. I reckon we'll see Legends Z-A on the Switch and then see a Gen 10 game on the Switch 2 in late 2025.
As such, I'll probably get the Switch 2 when Gen 10 Pokemon comes out or we get something like Mario Kart 9 or Mario Maker 3. One of the three.

I personally wait about 2 years give or take to buy a new console. This way i get to see if there are games i would want to play, there are multiple best sellers, and i get to see if it flops like the wii u (i did have the wii u becaude it was a Christmas gift).

If they are going to do a Zelda remake, I want Nintendo to remake the Oracles. This is a game divided in two. While Seasons shines because of the combats, Ages shines because of the puzzles. On top of that, you can change the map in different versions, making navigating the Overworld far more satisfying

A secondary screen
While docked it works like the gamepad but with the joycons that are provided in with the console.
While in portable mode it can conect to the switch's charging port and functions like a bigger DS.
I dont know how you could close thet hing without an accessory provided with the "gamepad" or it would have a funny shape.
Some games would have no real value with a double screen but those that worked realy well with it in the DS, 3DS and wiiU days could have a dualscreen mode with some funtionalities like an interactive map for splatoon or a menu thats active at all times for zelda or xenoblade games.
And that would also make DS or even some wiiU games ports possible like kidicarus uprising without needing to make a lot of changes.
It feels like a bit much tho. Like who's bringing that around

I want a Smash that has fewer characters because I want a completely new Smash.
Made by someone else, with fresh ideas and completely different movesets and design philosophies. I just think Ultimate is the ultimate SAKURAI Smash, but the series can evolve in a different way.
(also I want this because I want DK and Bowser to sound like they should sound and to get rid of Smash oddities like freakin' Jigglypuff, of all Pokémon, being a mainstay)
They should get rid of Dr. Mario, Zero Suit Samus, Princess Daisy, and Richter
I agree on DK and Bowser, but I think you can keep those same movesets while making the way they look, sound and act feel more true to their actual characters.
The only things I'd really change with DK is to give him a barrel as side-special (primarily to counteract zoning and potentially open punishes, don't make it too over-centralizing lest he'd become a zoner), then also give him a bury down-throw. You could also give Giant Punch a shieldbreak functionality to make up for the loss of Headbutt.

I really do just want completely new ideas, though. Smash has a lot of legacy, and that's awesome, but it kind of makes you wonder how different it could be if it was "invented" today, and I kinda wanna see something like that
I can't agree because I fear Shulk and Pyra been removed, if they aren't then I don't matter with who would, but certainly there would be someone who would mind with them... It is not easy
Maybe they could make a new cross over game that is not Smash, letting Smash be how it is and just eventually adding new characters because why not?

I feel like mario galaxy 2 is very likely to be the launch title. It was left out of 3d all stars and if the DS can have a remaster launch title, switch 2 can have the second galaxy game.

the thing about a smash reboot is that ultimate will probably be playable on the same console which makes this the perfect time to shake up the series (if you're pissed that they killed duck hunt or whatever, just play ultimate)

My prediction: It'll have embarrassing security and be cracked within a month.
I have an idea for a new Smash Bros. game. Instead of making just another one with 2D gameplay, they could revamp it drastically and make one with actual 3D gameplay. It would be super fresh for the franchise, and they could even have an excuse for not bringing back every fighter from Smash Ultimate.
