I like to imagine that Captain 3 holds the fact they did their entire campaign without firing their gun even _once_ over everyone else's head on a regular basis.

To be fair, the other agents where the only ones who actually bothered to complete the entirerty of their campaigns (Agent 3 skipped a whole world 💀)

@@disc5035 the mission was not "indiscriminately murder as many octolings, especially those of high power, as possible," it was "stop the octarian threat" which was achieved until dj octavio escaped the snow globe.
I didn't think "Tactical Amogus Painting" would be a strategy used in this run, but hey, here we are.

when i did the level "that sinking feeling" i actually... played it wrong [per se] and finished it the first time. i literally avoided all of the enemies and didn't fire a single shot on my first try-- meanwhile, my boyfriend had so many attempts it hurt. i told him my strategy and he tried it and it worked... it was genuinely really funny

@@Ag3nt-MC i dont think theres a "wrong" way per se-- but i dodged all of the shots and ran through fire instead. i lured enemies and lost them around objects so they didn't spot me anymore and "forgot" so they'd stop attacking me, etc. it worked wayyyy better than trying to actually conserve ink! i stopped thinking about using it altogether and just brute forced my way through and it was surprisingly much easier than when i saw someone trying to do it the normal way [i.e shooting shots but trying to keep your ink usage low] :)

When I took my own run through the game I was actively trying to figure out how you’d handle a minimal shot challenge. Needless to say this entire video was an endless train of disbelief at the depraved lengths you can go to save one measly shot.
I’m shocked and disgusted. Fantastic job.
My sibling actually gained the ability to move without shooting the first tutorial balloon on their first playthrough, similar to how you did in the first game. I still have no idea how but that should mean it's possible.

@@Gamechamp3000 can dirty switch carts (the golden bits specifically) affect the functionality of the game?
@@tylern6420 I don't think so, if anything the most specific it could get would be making specific stuff crash when you tried to load it.
I'm basing this off of a copy of Mario Party 7 I had as a kid that worked most of the time, but got a small scratch in it that caused the game to specifically crash if Bowser tried to load a multiplayer Bowser minigame.
@@tylern6420 The Switch does too much verification to carts, you'd just get an "an error has occurred, please reinsert the cart" screen

When I fought DJ Octavio in my own playthrough I was very disappointed to realize you would need to shoot to beat him, though your strategy was way way cooler than a real boss fight
as soon as i saw story mode i immediately wondered if you’d do this and i’m so glad you did
You can work around the opening screen by getting a connection error (such as by keeping the device in sleep mode for a minute) which’ll then return you to splatsville as you normally would.

I think an interesting challenge would be seeing how many power eggs you need to simply complete the story mode. No 100%, just get from start to finish, and how long that would take.

I have never played a Splatoon game and my only knowledge of it exists when Miss Champ plays the game badly. Love it.

That Octavio fight is actually hilarious, he really just sits there and watches you basically seabag him for points and does nothing about it. I've been waiting for this!! I did start watching the first part of Nate's video when it came out, but admittedly I stopped mostly because I knew it wouldn't be as good as your run if/when you did it. I don't think ANYONE else is insane enough to do VG Myths as well as you do

If you stand still for long enough (yes, even in roller melee mode) you slowly regain some ink.
The platform moves backwards towards an inkroller. There's no time to use it

Ive been checking everyday for this video since Splatoon 3 came out because of how excited I was for it, I physically gasped when I saw it on my homepage too 💀 I’m so glad it’s finally here
Congrats on this run. I remember trying my own shotless run but eventually just gave up on it. I don't think there's anything I did that wasn't already covered in this video anyways other than me attempting to do the shotless run with every weapon available for a full 100%.

technically, all of the octo expansion levels can be completed by using's Marina's skip test. You would get faded mem cakes, but you wouldn't need shots!
Iirc, it doesn't count for completion, since you didn't beat the level, you skipped the level. It also doesn't unlock IA3.
watching someone beat after alterna without using the main weapon was an experience honestly
