- Pokemon has never been beaten without taking damage, for good reason. It's an absolutely impossible challenge: you'd have to be an absolute idiot to even make an attempt.

People who do professor oaks challenges are a different breed. In gen 2 you have to save scum the slot machines to buy a dratini to get a dragonite before misty
Funny thing, there's another challenge youtuber called MahDryBread who has had to Viridian Forest power level in ways never before thought of. Half his Gen 1 runs require it.
My headcanon is that the "pokédoll glitch" was always intended. That by giving it a doll, it feels like the child was returned to her and she passes peacefully to the afterlife.

There's lots of games where you have to fight an illusion or something, and imagined damage can kill your character.

Technically if you roll a die enough times it will eventually degrade to the point where it only has two sides, making it possible to get tails

That's how no death/hit runs should work. It's not much of a challenge if a player can savescum over and over until they get it right because anybody can do that. It's part of the reason why I dislike RUclipsrs like Mittensquad.
Kompf option 1: waste literal days of your life grinding away to get unlucky, have to restart, and eventually make yourself hate what you loved
Option 2: save scum and preserve the fun aspect of challenging runs
Also, hating mitten squad for save scumming in games with hitscan weapons is the most ludicrous thing to be angry over.

i really do think that gamechamp and pikasprey have some insanely good comedic timing in this video together, his deadpan monotone voice and her endless energy really complement each other so well. with these two being two of my favorite youtubers in recent memory its astonishing that it took me nearly 4 years to realize this

Pikasprey's delivery is perfect. He's like Gamechamp3000's mirror image. One maintains the same energetic, cheerful tone of voice no matter what he's saying; the other maintains the same flat, controlled tone of voice no matter what he's saying.

I thought I heard the poor guy's sanity shatter into every single one of those 256 pieces on that miss, and completely reform itself less than 1 turn later.
Thank heaven the odds -truly- weren't against him and he had gone on to miss again. Rolling 255 on a D255 for two consecutive turns would have had destroyed him and everyone watching.

@@flameking2178 Got about halfway into the first episode a few weeks ago, but left the house and forgot to start it back up. Is the rest of it exactly like the first episode? Or does it get interesting?
@@gen157 It's basically about the main character getting access to more abilities and being prepared to an insane degree. The rest of the series is as funny as the first episode, so if you found the first episode funny I would definitely recommend. Plot wise the main character fights the demon lord's four best guys and then fights the demon lord. Finish the second episode to see if you're interested from a plot/battle point of view. But if you neither the first or second episode seemed interesting, then I definitely wouldn't keep watching...

The sheer terror and despair after quick attack missed the subsequent joy after finding out goldeen used tail whip took me on a rollercoaster not even blockbuster movies could imitate.

I love how this challenge run is literally made faster by completing an ENTIRE OTHER GAME during it. (I'm assuming the pokemon stadium 2 tower is unlocked post completion)

Still the king of "Beat Pokemon Without Getting Hit" runs in my view. The rules you gave yourself make it more interesting to see than the runs that gave themselves save states and emulators to use.

Yea... tails on a dice are considered odd numbers and heads are even. So on a 6 sided die 1, 3 & 5 are tails and 2, 4 & 6 are heads...

And in my disoriented dream state, I convinced myself that even though I only imagined getting hit, imagined damage is still technically damage, and thus forfeits the run!
In the interest of getting this run over as fast as possible so I can both get this video out and manage my stress, I chose to do the rest of the grinding off-stream in a more peaceful environment.
I can only hope you all trust that I didn't immediately jump into a horde of Caterpie as soon as the camera was off.

First of all, that was absolutely amazing. Second, I really feel that Nintendo/GameFreak should look at this video and have an official statement publicly congratulating you. You didn't cheat, you played the game as originally developed and you literally "used the game to play the game and beat the game". Yes, the game is broken (lol) but that isn't your fault.

@@pulsefel9210 They do count Gold beating Red is canon. Not to mention Sun and Moon protagonist can also defeat Red before going into the Battle Tower. Although the world tournament and alola battle tree battles loses can be argued for Red. Let's not even forget both Origins and Adventures while although both aren't canon still have Red as a character losing battles.
