Absolutely. Although I understand it too. I remember back when 1000 hp just felt completely unattainable. It takes work but it doesn't seem out of the scope of possibility anymore. (I'm not necessarily talking about stock ls just power in general)
What makes you think he bought a $280 turbo to try to make 1000hp?

No the big problem with this bmw is that it has too small turbo for the big motor. Way too small and creating back pressure
Yeah 500 on the street without traction control, will scare the shit out of most people. Very cool swap!
Finally some best cam testing. Be interesting to see comparisons to other cams. See what it does down low and where it runs out too. Like to see it in a 4.8/5.3 turbo setup. That's the plans for mine.
Just imagine if GM built a car this sexy with a V8.That car is a monster and has to be a 10 out of 10 for smiles per mile

The chevy ss and the pontiac g8 are both in a similar class as the BMW.

it's an ugly ass 4 door BMW, the cool thing is the GM powertrain
I was very happy with this camshaft it impressed me it had great low end torque, and high end power. I ended up running it NA on a C5 Corvette with eBay headers BTR Dual .630 springs and Retainers and the Sloppy best Cam it made 395 HP and 380 TQ on a Mustang Dyno thank you Matt for this well performing camshaft.
That sumnabitch spools quick! Your cam seems to work well with a turbo, putting it on my list when I turbo my nova!👌🏻👍🏻

That's cool to see the difference with and without tailpipes. I remember you did a video on this a long time ago with the loud valve in the Colorado. It would be interesting to know what the back pressure is post turbo with and without the full exhaust
I had a very similar combo. 78/75 exhaust housing small made 100 less hp with full exhaust hooked up. Put a hater pipe out the hood with no changes and it made 650hp on 12lbs pump gas.
That’s a bad ass ride. I’m building a e60 bmw with a 6.0 and it’s got Matt cam in it.

So many people don’t realize how 500-600whp feels on the street!! My 6.0 TA spins the tires with a 88/103 turbo at 110mph and at 5psi it still spins in second , first gear is useless

I’m looking to get this 7875 turbo for my 5.3. I planned to run a full exhaust out the back, all 3” no mufflers/resonartors/ect. Do you think I would still encounter the excessive back pressure issue he had? If so do you think a GT45 would be a better option? I was leaning towards the 78/75 for a quicker spool, I drift the car and would like the low end
Do you remember what hot side this turbo had, .96 or 1.25?
What was the diameter of the full exhaust? And did it have a muffler? I’m having similar boost control issues with mine I Have 3 1/2 inch exhaust all the way back and my Turbo has a 3 1/2 inch outlet
It's 3 inches off the turbo all the way back. The mufflers were the restricting factor here, once we undid the exhaust from the downpipe she was making boost no problem

You don't want a chambered muffler on a turbo charged vehicle. Terrible spool and flow issues. You need a straight through style muffler. Like a glass pack, magna flow, any "bullet" style ect

Not a stock bmw diff, it's got a stock ford 8.8 with 3 73 gears lsd and 1500hp g force axles, I think that got a little lost in translation lol

Here is the thing, I do MANY cars and Most are very similar, so uploading 120 tune files for cars that are marginally different isn’t size effective or easy to look through. You essentially choose one where map sensor and injectors are similar and start, all the cars need some tweaking anyway so, just start with something close
iv got to order parts this week for my lq4 6.0 with gen 4 rods Witch cam ss2 or best cam? going in s10 street truck looking to make 700 whp with 7875 turbo?
ss2 is better for overall power, best cam is best for drivability and sacrifices a little bit of top end for it

@@SloppyMechanics Okay awesome🤙 I spoke to you a few months back regarding my m3 . I just pulled my motor out a few days ago to start the fabrication process and I’m waiting on the rest of my parts … I’m also about to order your Best Cam and the springs and such.

I was thinking that when he said stock rear end lol mine on my E36 broke axles and bent diff bolts on street pulls and 225’s and I’m NA around 300 hp. Had to upgrade everything to M3 and reinforce it
