Hello! MIDI assignment for switching similar samples, locking selected samples while switching between presets, double/half tempo (it is coming), resizable search box or just bigger folder tab in this box, MIDI output for the sequencer and finally - remapping note triggers. Thank you!
XO is great but I'm missing one basic function: I really would like to able to import MIDI files for drums into XO - either the ones which are available for Addictive Drums or other ones.
Thanks for the feedback! There is actually a crude Map Preset for XO in Addictive Drums 2. I would describe it as an experimental creative boost, rather than a serious tool. But you should definitely try it out if you own both AD2 and XO. Load up the Map Window from the menu icon top right in AD2, then go into the Map Preset menu -> Other plug-ins -> XLN Audio XO. After that, try dragging grooves directly from the BEATS page and drop them onto the XO track in your arrangement. XO looks like a great too but it really needs to alow users to drag and drop files into the slots or import from the clipboard... I use splice to get my sounds and there's no fast way to just paste them on XO, that's the only thing stopping me from buying it
Just bought this and I am really blown away! Any plans to update the matching algorithm, I was about to request an import matching feature but just realized it could possibly be done via searching. Awesome stuff, please keep releasing more advanced videos and documentation.
I'd also like to request ability to lock selected samples while switching between presets. The beat combiner is good but there are soooo many great patterns in other presets that can be used for breaks and fills etc. Also, a lot of other drum machines and midi generators have the ability to store multiple patterns and have those triggered by midi. It would be great if XO had this too.
One of my favorites and if they had maybe 8 different variations of each groove, it would be insane! Any chance of this down the road? I'll pay you double! 💰💸💵💲
@@xlnaudio thanks for responding! The grooves that you already have are awesome... Even if you kept them and had 7 variations of each of those grooves would make this so much more useful. I don't know many producers that will just use 1 clip. I'm having to use other programs' drum loops or take your clips and make custom mods of each. Less work streamlines the work flow! Thanks again!
Thank you for this incredible video ! Quick question : I am facing a problem with xo : when i export processed samples (with effects applied in xo, for exemple filters or pitch correction), the volume of the exported samples never matches the volume directly heard from XO (from output busses), even with the differents normalization settings. This is very annoying as I usually tweak the sounds and mix them within XO before exporting them. I was wondering if you came across this issue and if you found a way to correct it ? Thank you if you take time to answer :)
It has been requested for more than 3 years now. They just ignore it. I don't know why, but it is utterly frustrating, since it makes a great software worthless for so many people. I would love to have a 7/8 or 5/8 meter - hell, even a simple 3/4 or 6/8 would be a huge improvement.
One of the most requested feature still is missing: Other time signatures (checked the new update change log, and again - NOTHING). The software (which is otherwise awesome) has been useless for me because of this. This could be THE solution for drums, but no ... The sequencer doesn't know anything more than 4/4 (and 2 Patterns).
I've just bought the plugin. It's a great tool for sparking quick beats but needs a longer sequencer or ways to introduce variation. The beats become repetitive very easily. Is that in the works XLN?. You already implemented something for the Life plugin with the pattern variation, density, syncopation etc.., will that be ported into XO?
Thank you for the feedback! You can always import the midi into your DAW to get more control over the beats and create more variations. I can't say anything about what future updates will bring, but I will save your request for porting Life functionality over to XO.
@@xlnaudio Well please advise them to listen to reggae music back in the 80s and listen to Latin music back in the 80s and see who influenced who. It’s called Reggaeton not Latinton.
Great stuff. Do we have control over the velocity/swing/time offset of the grooves? So, I can set a threshold for each drum and tell XO "randomize note velocity/time offset within this range." If not, is this a feature in AD2, and can those patterns then be exported into XO?
There is no velocity or time offset randomization in XO, nor Addictive Drums. Sounds like a neat idea though! I will save it for the product team for future consideration.
So... i made a lot of beats in the standalone version at 174 bpm and am now in Ableton and would like to make a beat at 87 bpm but would like the beats within XO to run at 2x time (174 bpm) ... is that possible?
Unfortunately not in the current version of XO. But it's a very popular feature request and we hope to be able to implement it in the next XO update. Stay tuned!
You can definitely use your own samples. Load them into XO and use the Search & Filter function to exclude the XO Core content and only use your samples.
Yes, really XO needs more love and some little bit very necessary features. Just as Life needs offline mode for samples

Forgot one more - import and export favorites list (I just did a clean reinstall of MacOS with all apps and all my favorites are gone now) @xlnaudio
@@_andreypetr_ Thanks for the feedback! All noted and saved for future consideration.
@@xlnaudio thank you! And the undo button, that could save my presets many times :)
Double & Half tempo feature yet?
@@pederbergstrand6203 how do you know?
Yessir, in a few weeks
@@pederbergstrand6203how do you know that? 🤔😯

Please integrade also midi mapping for electronic drumsets and automisation for "same pattern - simliar samples.

Is there an option to change time signature? If not, will there be one in the future?

When I drag and drop can I get conventional/midi-ish files that can be edited (like addictive drums 2 files) or can I only drag and drop wav files?
Both. You can also drag as MIDI and have it trigger what you just made in XO. Check 1:34
There's a button in middle of screen called "Beat as MIDI"
Ok, great! Thanks
Everything you need. Beat as wav or midi. Beat as stems. Kit as raw samples or processed samples 👌
