i think he means shift walking up to a corner and still holding shift while peeking. this makes for a slow peek which is not efficient and you should be trying to instead use ONLY the a and d keys to jiggle peak corners for a faster peek while still being silent
How do you deal with moving targets (specially peakers) ? Do you do small bursts (and hopefully tag them so they slow down) and then restrafe,or you do it diffrently ?
although aiming is important, i think people put too much emphasis on it. Game sense is just as important. Game sense is what puts you in the position to use these techniques effectively.
This video actually made me reach at the level of Diamond rank (stuck at Platinum 1 in Asia server btw). The Tracing and Pre-aim part is the one that made me improve so much that I can even fight some of the Immortal Ranks too but I still need to improve these skills.
You can either stand still or crouch. Shift walking makes you more inaccurate than standing still or crouching. You are able to fire the first few bullets while shift walking, but you should immediately come to a stand still. Crouching is best used in higher elo where you can duck under the headshot the opponent is going for. Standing still is better in lower elo where players won't have the accuracy to aim at the head and so crouching will often crouch into their body shots causing a headshot. As a general rule I would recommend just coming to a stand still if you're still learning (Platinum or lower).

@@skillcappedvalorant As an immortal 2 player from oceania i thoroughly disagree with you. Its far easier to stand and shoot rather than crouch. The biggest reason being is that crouching is a one and done position. You cannot counter strafe to avoid the insta hs, and even if you get a kill you get immediately refraged as for your movement is slower to stand back up. Shifting in general only works when its a contact play or if the enemy has lost your position. Its great when you are doing a default round as for if you were running the enemy would know exactly where and when you would peek and if your crouching the enemy will have peekers advantage. The best movement is to take fights while walking and crouch mid shot. Provided you dont get insta hs, you change the position of your head making it harder to shoot. This technique doesnt work close range but best for medium range fights
At the part in the beginning where you talk about holding angles it’s actually not about predicting if he’ll wide swing or peak in n out on aceu it’s about exposing as little as his body as possible while still having a good line of site so if you watch the clip when on the right side of the wall while doing a right side peak you actually have to swing out more in order to get the enemy if the enemy decides to also swing out it leaves little room for adjustment if you miss your second shot or don’t kill right off the head but if you’re on the left side of the wall and you miss your next shot on the enemies wide swing you can readjust and hit your shots after also while on the left wall and your camera angle is on that ride side peak you don’t have to expose as much of yourself and you can see much more when playing games where angles are everything you have to learn what angles gives you not only good line of site but also doesn’t expose your body much if at all
I disagree on the flicking section. U can train your muscle memory to do flicks and get them to be more consistent. It’s not a last resort it’s just a different aiming technique but it also has its pros and cons.
I think its different between players. For me flicking is like natural ways for me to kill the enemies coz if i focus on my crosshair placement my reflex will goes down rapidly that's why i only resort to flicking for high reflex even though its accuracy is way lower than crosshair placement
I have really good flicking and tracing (I know those two don’t usually work well together because of sensitivity preferences but I’ve learned) but my pre aiming really sucks because I don’t have great map knowledge
What would you guys recommend for increasing consistency? Some games, I play like a gold 3 and other games like a silver 1 - I'm gold 1/silver 3 (keep bouncing between) and it's just embarrassing and feels like I'm really bad, and idk how I'm meant to fix it lol
Also, if you play well one day, try and remember how you were sitting, positioning your arm, etc. that has to be consistent for your aim to be consistent
Can anyone help me? I havee great aim and i get really great scores in kovaaks and in the range but i cant apply it ingame. I have no problem with crosshair placement but my body instantly aims to the enemy's body instead lf the head. Its a bad habit
I literally have the same problem. Idk how to change this but I've been trying to focus on this specific problem. It has gotten better. One thing I do is upward flicks in the range it has helped a bit but not a lot.
To fix bad habits, you have to be more conscious of it and slow down. With good crosshair placement (crosshair already being on the head), you only need to move your crosshair left or right to follow them and slightly downwards to control recoil for the first 5 bullets. So before engaging an enemy, tell yourself to shoot at the head repeatedly and focus on this more than focusing on fighting the enemy. Instinctively, you might still try to aim at the body, despite the crosshair being on the head already. So, this is where you slow down. Focus on the crosshair, make sure the crosshair is on the head, then shoot. If these don't work, then punish yourself by not shooting if the crosshair is not on the head. Bad habits take time to fix. Everyone has bad habits, so its not only you. You just have to put more time into fixing bad habits than getting the kill. For example, you can get kills by shooting at the leg. That doesn't mean its okay to get kills that way because it is not as good as hitting headshots. Shooting at the legs gives your opponent more time to kill you. It takes like 5 bullets to the leg vs. 1 or 2 bullets to the head with phantom or vandal. One thing, you want to think about though is that it is easier to miss headshots vs. body shots. However, I do have one question. Do you know Astralis from CS GO? Maybe you can use them for inspiration. They aim at the chest instead of the head. Charla7an, a radiant eu valorant player also likes to aim at the chest. He said so in one of his Q&As. You could also make into a strength of yours. If you like to aim at the chest, then don't pull down at the start. This is so that the bullets after the first one will go to the head despite your crosshair being on the chest.
Go to unrated and force yourself to hit the head even if you think hitting their body can win the duel! No matter how many times you die keep on positioning the crosshair to the enemy's head even if it takes time and you get damaged! I promise you that this is extremely efficient!
