I love how the announcer and Kershaw think the pitch is a strike based on where it ends up in the catcher's mitt after it's curved right just after it slide by the plate. In slow motion and full screen you can see as it passes the plate it's just a hair wide and slides back to be in the mitt in line with the edge of the plate.
@@A-FrameWedge There's plenty of video clips of the ball curving the few inches required to do that in the space between the plate and the catcher's mitt. However, the slightly off line camera angle can make it look like it's curved more than it has, which is very often the case where it makes a curve of an inch seem to be a couple of inches. Replay the pitch on a large screen monitor in very slow motion and watch the ball's movement and place it where it is in relationship to the players prior to it hitting the catcher's mitt.

That smirk is definitely a silent goading. He knows what he's doing.
Is there no governing body for these umpires? Grabbing players, bad calls, etc etc is just cool cause they’re umps? Dead concept, IMO
Incidents with umpires are handled internally.
@@mileshortman5163 so, no... a player gets thrown out/ suspended/ fined for their actions but umps answer to each other... appreciate the response
@@bullast2046 Kind of like cops for the most part.
@@meaninglesscog no not close
The peg out was awesome
You can't argue with Umps. However, it would be cool too see one of them get lit up
I can't decide what's my favorite: Lawrie's neat little pivot when he gets yanked back the first time, the fact that Jerry Davis seems like he's trying not to laugh as the on-deck circle gets relocated, or Laz Diaz giving it right back to Joe Kelly.
1) Gerry Davis, not Jerry West. Jerry West was a basketball player.
2) Shawn Kelley, not Joe Kelly. Joe Kelly has never played for the Yankees.
Josh Garland Well thank you for not being a jerk while correcting me
I will never understand why umpires are not held accountable
I wanna see a player knock out an umpire so bad
Why?
Some of those Chumpires need to be taken outback behind the woodshed for some extra curricular disciplinary sessions. Preferably with a nice wide wooden paddle.
That George Brett clip always makes me laugh. He was a small player at less than 190 lbs charging an umpire then getting manhandled by 1 umpire. Just funny.
My favorite is Harper getting ejected in citi field and that stadium has never been louder
Also in the reply with the strike zone shown, I feel it wasn’t as outside as the strike zone showed it was. I could be wrong though, just arm chair umpin’.
@@ffwingman329 i don't think you're wrong at all
It didn't look anywhere near as far out as that graph display showed it
boy, when you have to be calmed down by Hanley Ramirez 😫😂😂😂
I don’t know if these were “awful moments” I think they were childish moments especially the dibble throwing the ball at a cubs player
Mets player.
Dude, thanks for providing the CONTEXT for the clip at 3:35, which I've seen many other places without it.
Coming from a st louis cardinals fan its weird seeing some stadiums not full
2:11 the kid in the back knew they had to be showing home plate right then and hit the whip.
Kid's got potential
Damn how’d you see that lol
I went to the comments because I knew someone was going to say that 😂
:30 two pitches belt high. You gotta be swinging my dude. Those are strikes all day.
Yeah. I mean, I just paused it when it hit the catcher's glove, and I don't even know what he's mad about.
Today on: Which jobs should be replaced by robots?
These least seen and good ones. Good job.
Beltre moving the batter's box was so clutch. LMAO!
They crowd when Bryce Harper got ejected made me grin so big. :) 7:03
same hah
I often dream that one Day We'll get some new clips 🤣🤣🤣
Should’ve titled this video “mlbs greatest moments”
While Cabrera was hitting those were definite strikes lol
this is great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lol today dibble would've had a 3 million dollar fine, suspended indefinitely, and sports shows would talk about it for a month
Dude was in the box and was taking his sweet time. No reason for the umpire to deny Kershaw to start his delivery.
they have (had) a timer for pitchers, why not for batters?
Baseball needs to get rid of umps. I’ve never seen officials so unprofessional with egos that suck at their jobs in any other sport.
Brett storming out of the dugout is such an iconic visual.
i quit watching baseball in last few years because its idiotic how they cling to the old, shitty ways of calling pitches, when a foolproof method to have it done with technology is widely available.
My favorite thing about Beltre moving the on deck circle is watching the guy in the red shirt go from utter confusion to absolute hysteria
I think the best part of any of the clip at 7:04 was the guy hitting with his bottle 😂
What ?
@@tempsitch5632 Guy in the green shirt by the green pistachios sign…taking some batting practice with his water bottle
@@JimWhitakerMusic Ah. Thank you.
4:45 Wow, didn't even know there was a 2nd team with a rightful hate for Kent Hrbek! I guess we found the one thing that Braves and Cardinals fans have in common!
Yeah, the ump blew that call twice. Pathetic...
3:04- They say you as a player can't touch the umpire, well in my humble opinion it works both ways.
You as an umpire cannot touch a player. If Papelbon wanted to sucker punch Joe West there, he would have had a legitimate beef why because he was physically provoked by West.
Joe West and Angel Hernandez are the biggest disgrace to MLB umpiring.
The asdrubal Cabrera one gets me.. like that shit is a strike to me.. way to close to take on a 3-2 count
I will never understand or accept the umps being able to be confrontational and then they don’t fact any repercussions.
It’s disgusting.
When both of those pitches to Asdrubal were strikes....😂
Shoeless Joe Jackson belongs in the Baseball Hall of Fame.
Can’t even breath towards an umpire without them getting butthurt
4:08 when the glove moves that little, 99.999% of the time they give it to you.
I remember that during the last few years of Skip Caray's life he pointed out that the umps were getting increasingly confrontational with the players instead of just moving the game forward and allowing the fine process to play out. Correct. Stop *provoking* the players. JFC
Every time Bryce Harper gets ejected an angel get's it's wings.
They needed to get a new overlay strike estimator, too.
This is the only time I watch anything to do with baseball (it's usually boring). I love the dude who pulled the batting circle to where he was standing. 🤣🤣😂😂
Umps are like little kids hiding behind moms apron.
Yeah Kershaw is a diva, and the announcer was a homer. You can’t go by the electronic boxes. They’re 2-dimensional.
Sorry the ball does no move that much in such a short distance.
