I’m currently using the Joseon and love it. I find when it dries down it has more of a matte finish which what I prefer. Another I enjoy is Dr. Green’s Mild up. Again, a semi-matte finish. I produce enough ‘glow’ 😵💫 I don’t need extra in that department. Another excellent video.
Heliocare 360 oil free gel spf 50 is great for oily/spot prone skin! One of the only sun creams that doesn’t break me out. La Roche Possay spf 50 invisible face spray is excellent for applying over make up during the day. For those that live in the UK, Boots often have this on offer during the summer
For anyone with combo/oily skin like me, I would highly recommend Garnier anti-dark spots and anti-pollution super UV protection fluid spf 50. It's brilliant and v reasonably priced - always on offer somewhere too. Emma x
I would love to see you apply these sunscreens to your face in the proper amounts. It is extremely difficult to ascertain if a sunscreen would be for me by looking at someone put a dab on the back of their hand. I have a drawer full of sunscreens that I “tried on” in store on the back of my hand but when I got home and put it on my face it was a disaster.
Yes, I've bought 4 to try this year and only one of them is any good under makeup despite what reviewers say. Most of them are really greasy and never dry down. Relegated to using when I'm gardening!
Angie of Hot and Flashy puts them on her face and her reviews are really thorough. Have you watched her? She has really helped me find good sunscreens for me.
Yep!!! You can never tell what the finish looks like HaruHaru wonder is absolutely incredible it’s just satin looks like your best skin day ever! I thought my p.calm was real shiny and it was my moisturizer you really have to try them on it’s so annoying lol!
Huge fan of Dermatica. I now want them to make an eye cream and a cream for the neck and décolleté. I’d be the first to buy. No doubt about it. Love their tretinoin formula and the sunscreen they do. Top class customer service and very reasonably priced for the level of quality skincare they offer.
There's only 2x u tubers I watch regularly and your one of them. Always love your videos. I'm a big spf user so I loved this video. Great information. Love the way you can rattle off those ingredients.
The Altruist sunscreen is the best. I have oily skin and its sits well under makeup, not stingy or greasy. In the UK it's only £5 through Lloyds pharmacy
Great video, Gemma. Love that Dermatica have just started an SPF 50. I’ve used it for a month now and it’s so good and no white cast left on the skin. I’d highly recommend it and am going to stick with it.
For your UK subscribers, the Soltan Brightening facial sun cream is amazing. SPF50 with 5 star UVA, protection, very cheap (£5.50), but the best I have tried, and I have tried loads, including high end brands. It contains vit. C and is truly brightening and moisturising, no need to use your daily moisturiser. My deep sun spots are now very light after 3 months use. It does not sting the eyes and is unscented and alcohol free. If it is a bit shiny, I just dab my face gently with a paper tissue.
I’m British-Australian living in Australia with oily skin and I LOVE Cancer Council facial sunscreens for alone or under makeup. And it’s not too pricey (love your videos!)
I'm 70, neither dry nor oily skin and I've used Ultrasun spf30 or 50 for the face for years. It doesn't sting my eyes and no other skincare is required - for me anyway. It has a velvety feel on my skin, not shiny or sticky. I also like Nivea shine control spf50 in place of day cream.
Your hair is looking fabulous Gemma. My holy grail facial sunscreen is Naked Sundays Mineral Collagen Glow SPF 50 plus. I can’t use many sunscreens on my sensitive skin and this is next level beautiful to wear. Australian cruelty free vegan brand. I’m not sure how widely available this is internationally. Body tsunscreen is Bondi Sands Fragrance Free SPF 50 plus Lotion, lovely silky moisturiser like free…..this I’d a Dr Dray favourite (and one of my derms recommendations) another Australian cruelty free brand.
Great video 👍. I love the SPF from Thank You Farmer, it's perfection 😊...doesn't peel, it's lightweight and sinks in like a dream...love, love, love ❤. Also, the one from Biore is very good.
My favourite sunscreen is Mad About Skin Protect and Hydrate, no need for a moisturiser for my oily skin in a humid climate! I also love Skin 1004 Cica-Hyalu and BOJ one you mentioned. Your skin looks amazing, could you make a tutorial on your look please, love the simple eye look!
I tried the Garnier dupe for La Roche Posay. The serum version was nice but the PA rating wasnt high enough for my liking. They also have a fluid version
I’ve been using Altruist successfully in the UK weather. Took it with me on a Med cruise - first day of any sun on my face walking around and I developed a red itchy PLE type rash on my face and neck. Switched to Ultrasun Face and the problem has gone away. Some sunscreens are better for sun allergy related problems.
I have always loved the European La Roche Posay and just purchased 2 bottles when I was recently in the UK. I took it to Montana two weeks later and it stung so badly because my skin was terribly wind-chapped there. My skin is almost back to normal and I plan to resume the La Roche Posay, but i finally understand how people can have reactions to products with alcohol!
My daughter bought some LRP and within two days her skin is in an awful state. Her doctor has given her antihistamine to take four times a day. I’m guessing that it is the alcohol content which is causing the problem.
I was able to buy Beauty of Joseon SPF in the US and I'm wondering if it is the same as what is available in the rest of the world. The ingredient list looks the same, but I usually have to stock up on my favorite SPFs when I'm in the UK, since it has some ingredients that don't usually come in US products.
Combo skin here 🙋🏼♀️. My favourites are the Paula’s Choice Resist Anti-Aging Moisturiser. This is a tinted mineral sunscreen that has the texture of a silky lotion. It is absolutely amazing under makeup. My other favourite is the Australian Gold Botanical Tinted Mineral Face Lotion. This is quite thick but sinks in quickly and if worn under makeup your makeup isn’t going to budge. It’s better than any mattifying primer I’ve ever tried. I tend to wear this one on holiday as once it’s on it isn’t going anywhere, it’s bullet proof.
Bravo bravo!👏🏻👏🏻 on your pronunciation of all those incredibly difficult chemical names. I absolutely love the Isitree and thecentella Sunscreens even though I have very sensitive skin they work wonderfully for me thank you for your in-depth research and honest opinion… Always a fan!
I wear the olay spf 15 face fluid when at home / office work. When i go out more i go for the Garnier hydration sof 30. Its a body face spf, 200ml £6 i think. So good. Dont use anything else. Used to buy more expensive spf but would go through them too quickly.
Dr Sam's Flawless Moisturiser (the hybrid one) is fabulous - I wish it was featured in your great video! Murad's Shield Correct & Protect Serum is on shopping list!
Awesome video…will be trying to purchase some of these. Sunscreens are my nemesis! I think I’m just picky about the feel on the skin. I have your skin type, fair with moody rosacea patches, and I'm loving Australian Gold SPF 50 for my face, neck, ears and chest. Not overly expensive, less than USD20. for 3 full ounces. All mineral, no eye stinging. Has a nice soft dry finish, no lingering fragrance and is lightly tinted in three different shade gradients, so no white or ashy cast. Nice creamy feel, not greasy. Rated as water resistant for 80 minutes. Makes a nice underbase for a light dusting and buffing with mineral powder foundations. Plays well and does not pill with liquid or BB cream foundations over top. Or, if your rosacea is behaving, a light dusting of translucent powder may be all you need or desire. Highly recommended by Angie of Hot & Flashy, and my dermatologist and opthalmologist agree. Good luck!
@@MyCleverHandleI wish I could get on with it. I feel it dries to a bit of a mask and feels too tight of my more mature skin. Such a shame as its the only sunscreen that has a fair tint
I love the Summer Fridays mineral sunscreen, i would love it if they made a SPF50. I still love the Australian gold tinted mineral sunscreen SPF50 aswell. Great video Gemma 😊
I use the Anthelios on my face but I use Banana Boat Light as Air on my neck and body. It is non-greasy, 50+, soaks right in and works well. I have never used under makeup so not sure on that.

Hi, which mineral sunscreen has the closest formulation to Summer Fridays Shade Drops? I had a massive allergic reaction to SF which was such a bummer because it otherwise would be my HG given it is untinted, left no white cast on my skin, and I love the serum-y formulation and how easily it applied/spread. I was told mineral is gentler for my skin given I’m on Tretinoin (and the UVA filters in chemical ones in USA aren’t strong enough). I’m worried how my skin will react to a chemical sunscreen given how it reacted to the mineral one. Only other ones I’ve tried are Elta MD UV sheer which pilled like crazy & Elta MD’s mineral tinted ones which are ok but I don’t want tinted. Thanks!
I have quite an oily t-zone normal skin by my nose slowly getting drier towards the outer near my ears, I've used the Murad and La roche posey sunscreens without a problem, except the Laroche does sting if I put it to near my eyes, I do however have sensitive eye's. I recieved the Murad ebvironmemtal shield in a Roccabox a couple of months aga and bought the box again for £20 purely to get the Murad at an incredable price again and it was still on the website when I looked yesterday. I do however like the sound of that Issentree one and think I will try it when my stash of sunscreens has gone down, I do have quite a few as I wear sunscreen everyday now , I do only wear makeup half the time so reapplying is easier on those days ,plus reapplying throughout the day. I've seen a couple of tictoks showing reapplication with serum sunscreen over makeup, with a sponge but she never put enough on and I get qiute mad as some people will think that that's ok to do. I use the La roche posay anthelious spray, it's easy and covers well, just remember to shut your eye's and my eye's are the only place I dab gently to get the sunscreen in the skin rather than in my eyes. LOved watching this as I do go through sunscreen the most of all my skincare. and finding good ones is easy as I know you do these videos every year, so thankyou Gemma for your trials , stingy eyes and having to wear so many so we could make a judgement of our best one to use. XXX
Summer Fridays i use occasionally but it does dry out my skin and irritates my eye area a little, the Korean Centella one i really like, and ive just started using Skin + me ( similar to Dermatica) and their sunscreen seems really nice too. I like to rotate sunscreens as then i don't tend to get dryness or irritation.
I finally found my fav sun screen for my face. but I'm still surching one for the body that is not sticky. I will try the Derma:B every day sun block for my vacation but its scented. we'll see 😊 any suggestions here?
Thanks for another great video. It is really helpful. I use Exuviance Skin Caring BB Fluid SPF50 and love it. It is oily and works for my dry skin. I would love it if you review that.

Australian Gold for me, just love it and the fact that it is tinted and so well priced, have been using for at least 3 years now. Always come back to it if I try something else.
Ooooo, I really don't like the stingy eyes some sunscreens impart!! Thank you so very much for putting yourself in the line of fire for us, you're an absolute legend ❤️ I've been trying the Clarins Spray Solaire 50+ (stings my eyes), the Ultrasun Gel Solaire Family 30 (not enough ***), L'Oréal Revitalift Clinical 50+ (stingy eyes). I really enjoy Dr Sam's Flawless Gossamer 50, this is great under makeup but it stings my old eyeballs 😅. Korean sun protection is sooooooooooo good. I like the Missha Essence All Around Safe Block 45, except it only has a 3 *** PA rating. Oh yes, your hair looks even more amazing than before (impossible 😮) and it looks so thick 😍!!! Lots and lots of love to you, 🤍💜🤍💜🤍💜🤍💜🤍💜🤍💜🤍
Love Isntree and I have a back up but it makes me so shiny that I’ve been trying out others to find some alternatives. Unfortunately every one has pilled horribly under makeup. It’s like they sit on top of the skin and never want to absorb.
Great info…. Do mineral sunscreens better suit one type of skin and chemical suit a different type. I have always used mineral but wonder if my more dry skin would be better with chemical.
Personal favourite has been Ultra Violette Queen Screen - no longer available in the UK, boo hoo! The Ultra Violette alternatives don’t suit me as well. However La Roche Posey anthelios uvmune 400 50+ (rolls off the tongue so easily!) is very good - and cheaper.
I don’t use spf on my neck because I don’t get any sun there so instead I put it on my face and chest. I have to use self tanner on my neck to match my body 😂
None. An exception for some, is she did a bit of filler (or some such injection) for her upper lip center. I’ve watched her for years and she’s the real deal that concentrates on skin care and it has transformed her.
I think it is Botox around the brows to make them higher. Plus Botox in the forehead I think cause it is not moving as always. Sure she will talk about it at some point knowing her 👍

Found this very interesting. My korean spf has just arrived.
Awesome reviews - thank you!
I have dry skin and mineral really makes me drier. I love chemical korean or Japanese sunscreens .😄
Korean suncreams all day long for me 💕
Thank you for another great video 🎉😊❤xx
My favourite sunscreen la Roche posay 😊
I love and use only the Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Watery Sun Gel. It's spoiled me for any other SPF's.
How many bad chemicals are in these sunscreens?
You grow prettier everyday 🎉😊
You look lovely tonight Gemma, bith your makeup and your hair, love auntie Aileen xx
Late to the video so you probably won’t see this but I love your eye makeup in this video!
Hello from Turkey. Please try Holika Holika Aloe Waterproof Spf 50 if you haven't already. =)
Is dermatica PA rated?
Personal favourite has been Ultra Violette Queen Screen - no longer available in the UK, boo hoo! The Ultra Violette alternatives don’t suit me as well. However La Roche Posey anthelios uvmune 400 50+ (rolls off the tongue so easily!) is very good - and cheaper.
Im keen to try Ultra Violette Mineral Sunscreen….Lean Screen I think it’s called.
Tried a sample didn’t like as much. It was OK.
I don’t use spf on my neck because I don’t get any sun there so instead I put it on my face and chest. I have to use self tanner on my neck to match my body 😂
😳
Sunscreen under makeup…great topic choice.
Gemma, I watch you always and I can see and hear that you're not in your usual frame of mind. Please know that this is just sent with love ❤️ xxx
Sorry I feel really bad for reaching out but I can see you're really rushed and somewhere else. So much love and and light to you ❤❤ xxx
She seems perfectly fine to me.
@mariarossi6719
I totally agree with you, I couldn't see anything untoward about our Gem 🤷♀️????
?
👍🏻👍🏻
💕💄
You do look Great..would love to hear about your cosmetic surgery😅
Looks like cheek fillers to me.
None. An exception for some, is she did a bit of filler (or some such injection) for her upper lip center. I’ve watched her for years and she’s the real deal that concentrates on skin care and it has transformed her.
@@rhondavosberg551 go back years to her early videos. Same cheeks. What’s changed is her cosmetic savvy.
LOL - that’s what we call a backhanded compliment in the UK. And it fell flat
I think it is Botox around the brows to make them higher. Plus Botox in the forehead I think cause it is not moving as always. Sure she will talk about it at some point knowing her 👍
I don't understand the point of talking at such length about all the products and then not saying the price 🤷♀️
I have subscribers dotted all around the world, so including prices worldwide is rather challenging. Sorry you’re disappointed.
Yeah but you are in the UK so why not just mention how much the product is?
My HOLY GRAIL sunscreen is HARUHARU WONDER …satiny 🤍🤍🤍my favorite sunscreens for summer humidity and sweating P.CALM WATER BARRIER is super light great ingredients sweat proof!!!
