- The Great Hall of the Grand Egyptian Museum is now open to the public! When I made this video a few weeks ago there was an event happening which allowed me access inside the entrance and it wasn't fully open, but the Great Hall to the GEM is now open to the public! Keep in mind most of the museum and galleries are still not open, but if you want to at least stand in the Great Hall, see the colossal statue of Rameses ll and a few other ancient artifacts (as well gift shops, restaurants and cafes), you're able to enter!
Tickets can be purchased at gem-tickets.com
Music in the video:

'Desert Nights' by Mike Franklyn

well done you 122 thousand views ......i been following you from the beginning of your you tube journey all your hard work is paying off , you should be very proud of yourself
Yes, wow, thank you so much, since the beginning! 😍🙏This video seems to be a special case, as the news of the GEM partial opening is trending, but I am elated to see it doing so well and people's response to it, and day by day the channel is growing. Definitely inspires me to keep doing what I'm doing. Thanks for your loyal support AMSR ☺
Yeah
I worked in the Grand Museum for 8 years, and it is truly one of the best projects I have ever worked on❤
Wow, that is awesome!
@@sparklesparklesparkle6318 😆What a thing to imagine 😆 Thank god that kind of torture isn't so commonplace this day in age, some of the devices were really fucked up. Gventures because my first name begins with G. I am sure you get the rest 😅
I see a lot of empty space in there.
@@3John-Bishop I think that is what they were going for. Open feeling and not cluttered or cramped in the Great Hall
You did a good job it seems! Sadly it wasn’t ready when I visited.
Thank you. Amazing how the hugeness of the building does NOT diminish the size and impressiveness of the giant statues. Also, the lighting effects on the statues really makes them "pop"! This is truly going to be a global museum!!
100% agree! The Ramses statue immediately draws ones attention in the Great Hall, despite the halls grand size, and is displayed beautifully. I can not wait until the museum fully opens!
Over the last two hundred years a lot of Egypt’s treasures were removed from the country, and ended up in museums around the world including UK, France, US. It’s great to see them opening this fantastic place that house their historical treasures. Thank for sharing.
Absolutely agree
Best thing to happen to the treasures was the fact the British took them - at least they were saved. What would have happened if Tuts tomb had been found by locals …. It would have been robbed.
Same goes for the Elgin marbles etc.

Wow!! That museum is another level looks so great, it’s amazing how Egypt has a big historical heritage like you feel you never end learning 🤩😍 you’re so lucky to be there 👍🏻
Yes, there is so much to see here, it's endless! 😅😅Ancient Egypt is incredible, but also modern Egypt is a lot of fun as well! Cairo is chaotic but full of energy, great food and nice people (vendors are annoying but your every day Egyptians are great). And then the cities along the Mediterranean, beautiful beach towns along the Red Sea, towns all the way down the Nile, small desert oasis. There is so much to see and love about Egypt 🥰
@@Gventures yes i have seen many videos (yours included) and I know Cairo is chaotic but that’s not a big deal, I’m literally falling in love with all those places 🤩 the more I try lo learn the more I want to live there at least for few months in the future God Willing 🙏🏻

Off course the biggest once is for the Pharaoh 3300 years long civilisation
These brand new grand Museum is still under construction and is being build in Next to the Great Pyramids area in Giza as Egypt is closing some of the old museum which has been more than hundred years old buildings and transferring the monuments to the new one

Hoping it'll fully open sometime this year! 🤞
As an Egyptian we’re accustomed to saying insha’allah (if God wills it)! In other words, don’t rush us into opening the GEM anytime soon! It will be open when it’s open. Lol
Thanks for sharing.
I was in Egypt in 1988 for two weeks and could not get enough. Since then, have travelled the world and always said I would go back there.
Now I have another reason.
I hope that the museum is well orchestrated like all the great museums of the world as it appears to be larger than life itself!
Cannot wait to take in the sights once again, minus that 20 dollar coffee😮
Oh wow, you were here back in the DAY! You must definitely return! I love Egypt so much, it's why I never left. Came for a planned 3 months, still here 1.5 years later 😆 You must watch some of my other videos like the streets and markets and tell me if it's anything like it was when you were here in '88, or if it's completely different. I'm sure much has changed of course, but maybe there are still some similarities. The coffee thing was kind of a joke, I have no idea how much the coffee actually was as I didn't check, I was just being sarcastic about the price because it felt so fancy in there 😅I like to joke around a lot 😬😄
@@Gventures I will definitely check back with you after I’ve seen your videos. As for the sense of humour, you need that a lot when you travel from my personal experience over the years.
I have always wanted to return but for one reason or not, I never did. As I am a lot older now than in 1988 I have to really plan my trip in order to spend at least one full day at the GEM. Something that I do as a rule when i visit a major city like Paris, the Louvre, Tate Modern and British Museum in London, and the MOMA in New York for example.
When I was in Egypt the people were so friendly everywhere I went but poverty was evident during my two week stay visiting Aswan, to see the dam, Abu Simbel for the the temples, then Karnak, Luxor and across the river to Elephant island and the Temple of queen Hatsheput and of course the plane ride to Cairo to see the museum downtown and finally the creme de la creme of Egypt, the pyramids of Giza and a visit to Saqqara.
Everything is still vidid in my mind as I kept my photos on paper in albums and have had many friends visit Egypt over the years.
If i do not go soon I will be too old to travel..!
Before that, I will enjoy your videos.
Insha Allah. 🙏🏽
@@richmck007 Well I hope the museum fully opens soon and you are able to return and visit Egypt once again! I have always loved ancient history and the ancient Egyptian civilization, but I have fallen in love with modern day Egypt since arriving here. The food, the music, the people. There is just much to love about the country! 😍And I do enjoy the chaos of Cairo 😄
@@Gventures I think I will have to deal with the chaos with a two day trip along the Nile and a day at least in the GEM for sure!
The oldest civilization on planet earth Egypt is a very great country
It's not the oldest civilisation..... Far from it, what about sumarians?
Il mondo occidentale ha civiltà romana. I faraoni fecero piramidi per loro i romani fecero strade ponti terme stadi arene fondarono città.
The oldest fully INTEGRATED civilization known to history! Also, Egypt is the oldest nation. The First Nation in history, for sure. Sumerians and the rest of the Mesopotamians were made up of independent city states.
Sumer, Elam, Eridu, Nineveh, Assur, Assyrian, Persian, Göbekli Tepe, Mesopotamia was also home to the world’s first urban cities, including Uruk, Ur, Elam, Babylon, Ashur and Akkad. South Africa where Adams Calendar is located is even older. All pre dynamic Egypt.

They've spared no expense, every contemporary architect should have attention to the beauty like in this case
Great production because it captures the feel of the place
Egypt and Saudi Arabia must be an architects dream, they are allowed to get very creative, in fact, directed to be very creative because they have the funds to do that. Not like in America where the owners want just a big box or very plain / minimal features so it doesn't cost very much. The Apple complex costs over a billion, several I think but it does not even compare to the architecture in the aforementioned areas.
Egypt came then history came 🇪🇬🌎
Miss Egypt so much. Can’t wait to see her again soon ❤

I love your video tour. Thankyou for sharing. I live in Miami Florida, and I can’t wait till the GEM opens, so I can plan my Egyptian trip.
Can you share info on safe hotels for tourists/ the safer neighborhoods ?
Thanks for watching! I think most neighborhoods in Egypt are safe, in my experience. I just drove my motorcycle alone across the length of Egypt and was fine, Egyptians are very kind people. But I would recommend staying in downtown Cairo while you are visiting the city because it is a good location to be. It has lots of different cafe and restaurant options, it is busy with people at all hours (in my own experience traveling the world, busy = safe, most of the time). It is also close to many of the things you will want to see such as the museums, markets, Islamic Cairo and Coptic Cairo, it is close to the Nile, etc. The only good thing about staying out near the pyramids is the view in the morning, so if people want to stay out near the pyramids I usually just recommend one night. Then you can wake up early, have a nice view while eating your breakfast on the rooftop, walk to the pyramids (usually only a few minutes walk, depending on what hotel), and then move to downtown after you are done seeing the pyramids. If you stay near the pyramids during your entire stay in Cairo, you are then battling your way through traffic (which can get pretty bad here with 22 million people) to get back into the city every time you want to do something. Because the pyramids are in Giza (a different city), and aside from the pyramids, most everything else one would want to see is in Cairo.
Welcome to Egypt. I am from Egypt.
Egad, the place is as big as an airport, complete with shopping mall and food court!

your summary at the end saying it more more like a shopping maul was great
i wonder how many years before they realise that the average traveller is not interested in a 200$ pendant charm or a $35 coffee
Well I was being sarcastic about the coffee price, I like to joke around and it felt fancy so I just joked that the coffee probably costed $20, I didn't actually check to see how much it costed and I'm SURE it wasn't $20, but it's also definitely cheaper outside on the street at a local cafe where I typically drink my coffee
