Avoid This Man! Cairo Market Scam 🇪🇬 عملية احتيال بازار القاهرة

- As soon as I had got out the taxi I was approached by a friendly man offering to show me the way to the market.
Which makes me think, maybe the taxi driver was in on it and had somehow texted this guy to let him know I was coming and to meet me on my way there. Maybe that's just a speculation, but look how fast he found me.
Avoid this man whilst you are in the area and avoid falling for similar scams!
If you wan't to support this channel and help me create more epic videos, Please head over to my patreon page that I just created.
Only with your guys help can we carry on and grow into something truly beautiful.

My first rule when travelling abroad is, 'never trust in someone who approach to you first'
There is one exception...the Taxi Drivers at Siem Reap Airport. I didn't trust the driver and he wanted to sell me a temple tour even before he brought me to the hotel. And he realized that I don't trust him, so he showed a license and told me to check it online. I did and it seemed legit. So I booked the temple tour with him after he brought me to the hotel. He was such a genuine and honest guy, he even brought me to his hometown so I can eat some snake after I asked him questions about where to eat snake in Cambodia on the temple tour.
Definitely, never ever trust anyone who approaches you out of the blue in a foreign country. Like the guy above said there are some exception but 99.99% of the time they are in for the money.

As a result, they annoyed me and stressed me out and I told them to leave me alone and left. If they hadn't done that, I would have probably bought from them. It was them who pushed me away from their own store. I think these guys would sell more if they gave tourists more space.

Egypt is actually one of, if not the worst country for this type of scam. Everything from the markets, to the pyramids, to police. This is an extremely stressful situation and can ruin your day. The worst experience I had of this kind was in Marrakech. One street hawker approached me and my friend and offered to take us on a "tour" of the city at a "very competitive price". We declined the offer in a polite and respectful manner but he continued to follow us for at least half an hour, pushing in to our faces and becoming increasingly aggressive. So we decided to visit a roof-top cafe for an hour to try to shake him off. When we got back on to the street, yes, of course, he was waiting for us. After another half an hour of this he finally gave up when we approached a group of young men in a market and they shooed him off.
You should ve punched him in the face besides there is no police there to arrest you 😅

I was in Egypt. An Egyptian guest house manager summed it up well. He said, "A guy in the street will point to the sky and then tell you to give him baksheesh. They will say that for everything." It is ridiculous. They want money for doing the most unsolicited worthless services and won't leave you alone. They walk with you or chase you with their horse carriage no matter how much you tell them no or ignore them (I tried both strategies). If you go left they tell you to go right to follow them somewhere. If you go start to go right, they tell you to go left and to follow them. This happened to me in every part of Egypt I visited. Many taxi drivers definitely work with them, though the better hotels will warn you about them as well as unfair prices.
exactly, my hotel even had it's own taxi company (of course free of charge for anybody accomodated at their hotel) because they know tourists have big problems with the local taxis. They told us we can take any taxi we like but they don't guarantee the experience and who knows what price they're gonna ask for. So when we went out to the city we took out hotel taxi but when we wanted to get back, there were no taxis from our hotels aroud at that moment so we took a local taxi to get back. We asked how much will the ride cost, he told us the price. When we arrived he doubled the price.

I went to Cairo in 2017, same guy approached us and took us to the same shop. Lucky we didn’t buy anything and it was so hard losing this guy. Eventually we came up with a plan, went in a mosque to pray, he waited outside as he didn’t want to pray and we escaped through a different entrance. Please avoid him
Same thing happened to me in Bangkok. But in my case it was all jewelry stores that charged so high. I set my foot down and risked a fight. Good thing he left. Keep safe bro.
A real pushy friendly brozzer. This behaviour can dampen a whole trip. This is creepy on the highest level
Not even thinking of visiting that country. Looks filthy and very uninviting
