Egypt is definitely a trip i would recommend. You guys literally left no stone unturned. One thing i think does not get enough credit is the food. We loved it!
Thank you - I completely agree - Egypt may not always be totally comfortable and easy to navigate, but it's fascinating, and well worth seeing. And you're right - the food was amazing!
This is a fantastic vlog. Thank you for putting the effort into doing this. We are going to Egypt in 4 weeks and this has given me a realistic idea of what to expect, although we are having a 7 night Nile cruise and 3 nights in Cairo. I’m very excited about visiting Egypt and your vlog has got me looking at the guide books again to refresh my memory about a bit of the history and what we really want to see. A lovely family and lucky to have parents who love to travel and introduce their family to other cultures and experiences.
@matawherolloyd236 it was amazing. The Nile cruise had some very early starts but there were times when the boat was on the move where you could relax and watch the world go by. It's a scene that I suspect hadn't changed much for hundreds of years. The poverty we saw did disturb me, I must say. The people were all so welcoming, friendly and keen to talk to you. Of course there are the 'hard sell' vendors and those trying to scam you, but watching the vlogs we did put us wise to them. The ancient sites were simply amazing, and I get goosebumps each time I think about the fact that I was inside the Great Pyramid. Do go if you can. Egypt badly needs tourists. You won't be disappointed.
I was impressed with this video, that I found professional, well researched and above all fair (no drama or exaggeration). You were absolutely right not to ride camels at the pyramids. I was mostly impressed by what a lovely family this is. Kids you’re really lucky to have such cultivated and decent parents!

What a coincident! We just came back from very similar trip a few weeks ago (Mar/2023). Moustafa was our Cairo guide. He was FANTASTIC. Luxor, Movenpick Nile cruise, Edfu, Kom Ombo, Aswan & Abu Simbel, all same. Maybe we fed the same cats you saw:) One thing I agree with you would be Aswan -> Luxor will be better than other way around (which we did). Only additional place I can recommend is El Fayoum so that you can experience an edge of Sahara desert. We also loved Mudawara Mt. Thank you for this video that you edited so tasteful.
I'm so happy to see Moustafa getting some love - he was a wonderful guide and if I were lucky enough to go back, I'd book him again in a heartbeat. Sounds like we both traveled the very well beaten tourist path, but with such significant monuments along the way - why wouldn't you go to those places? I'll have to check out your other recommendations if we make it back someday.

I’m only coming across your channel today and have subscribed! Thank you for taking me along to a country I dream of visiting someday. Loved your comment…” templed-out” at the end of your volg. It gave me a chuckle ;) It reminded me of being “ cathedraled-out” while visiting Europe years ago. I hope you get to enjoy your holidays …considering you see it through the lens of your camera while recording! Thank you. Safe travels ;) 🇨🇦
Awesome! Thank you! I definitely do enjoy these trips - for me, having the camera makes me look for interesting details to capture, and the little things I want to remember.
I really enjoyed this video and I am happy to recall back all my memories of my previous job as a tour guide ( Italian speaker) . Thank you for sharing your experience.
Oh this is fantastic! I’m heading to Egypt over the New Years period this year and this has got me very excited. Also taking note of what you are wearing because I’m completely lost on that bit 😅
Have fun! Expect it to be warm and dry during the day, with cool overnight temps. We expected the worst from a crowd level perspective, traveling at that time of year, but were pleasantly surprised that it wasn't as crowded as we expected it to be.
@@CarrieCook thankyou yes I know how lucky we are to be able to go I am in a wheelchair but now you can get right up to the pyramids as they have made a walk way a wooden one it’s strong and very wide for wheelchairs pushchairs walking frames etc it’s great hope you do get to see one of the wonders of the world it’s amazing sight 😊
Thank you for your video... I have watched about 6 of these from different travelers as I am truly excited about my trip and yours gave me hope. The others scared me to be honest...made me feel unsafe and like I needed to wear a burka the whole time I am in country since. I am an old redhead - I was afraid I was just going to get pounced on for my fair skin.... so I was so relieved to see fair skin, normal clothing... normal reactions... and I may actually return some of the purchases others made me feel obligated to make. I will definitely be able to travel lighter!!!!!! God bless you and your family. Glad you had such an amazing experience ... hope my daughter and I can do the same.
I think a lot of Egypt travel videos on RUclips take a click-bait approach and sensationalize the issues. And I do feel bad for people who visit Egypt without knowing what to expect because I can see how it would be a bit of a shock. But if you go in knowing what to expect and aren’t afraid to say no and stand your ground, I think it’s manageable. And the sights you will see are unrivalled anywhere else in the world, and make the hassle worth it. Enjoy your trip.
Thank you! I can’t remember what sidetracked me, but I didn’t wind up recording very much there at all. I do remember the paintings on the ceiling being particularly beautiful and I also remember being harassed quite a bit by a guard who wanted to let us into a restricted area to take photos in exchange for a tip. Maybe that’s what put me off.
I didn’t realize until I heard your voice that I knew “who” were (a pea!) I’m so glad I came across you here!! What an awesome trip! You do such a good job!
I’m waiting until both my children are in college to have that long winter break to visit Egypt as i heard its too hot in the summer months. One more year to go!
Great idea. The weather was perfect when we went in January - highs around 23C during the day and overnight lows down to about 12C. I don't think I could handle the summer heat, either!
@@CarrieCook Did the kids have any special immunizations before going? typhoid? Also, did they have any problems after eating anything during the trip?
@@awesomely9591 We have traveled a fair bit and have a lot of immunizations under our belts - the only thing we got specifically for this trip was Dukoral for traveler's diarrhea. We didn't get sick from anything we ate, but I'm not sure if we owe that to the Dukoral or if it's because we didn't venture off the standard tourist trail into any more rural/remote areas and we were careful about eating things that were cooked or could be peeled (with the one exception of street food falafels, which turned out OK).
Going there in a month. Thank you for an informative and straightforward video. Some of the videos seem to be a bit extreme and you kept it cool and free of drama! I miss when my kids were that age! Wish they were going with us.

Thank you so much, glad you found it relatable!
Thank for this video from Myanmar.
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Thank you
Amazing🎉👏
Going back there to see the new museum open can’t wait it looks so cool ❤
It does look amazing! I'd love to see it someday. Lucky you.
Best video on RUclips!
Thank you for your kind words!
Welcome to Egypt 🥰
I enjoyed your video. I wish I could have seen inside Hatshepsut’s funeral temple
Welcome to Egypt ♥️🇪🇬
I didn’t realize until I heard your voice that I knew “who” were (a pea!) I’m so glad I came across you here!! What an awesome trip! You do such a good job!
Thanks so much! Nice to ‘see’ a familiar face. 😄
Thank you for such video, very much enjoyable to watch, definitely subscribe to your channel ❤
Thank you so much!
Love your video! Newest subscribers here!
Thank you, I appreciate the support!
Great family video, love it.
Next visit, you got to explore the resorts of the Red Sea.
Thank you and I agree - we would love to see that part of the country, too.
@@CarrieCook did your tour guide offer transportation to and from sites such as the pyramids?
We have booked our holiday to Egypt in June, am really hoping the weather isn’t too hot.
Going there in a month. Thank you for an informative and straightforward video. Some of the videos seem to be a bit extreme and you kept it cool and free of drama! I miss when my kids were that age! Wish they were going with us.
Glad it was helpful and hope you have a wonderful time! It’s a fascinating place.
Hello Carie :) we love your video! May I ask who / which company is your tour guide please? Thanks
@@jennifermanalang636 Thank you! We booked with Egypt Tours Plus.
Welcome to Egypt 😁🌹
Good
I loved this video, it seems more authentic than others, however, it made me change my mind on visiting Egypt, food looks bad and the area is really rund down.
Thank you for such a great video
Well, thanks for the kind comments, though I'm sorry to hear I dissuaded you from visiting! 😆
Quality content as usual. Your videos are so interesting and informative. Any plans for a South American adventure? Would love to see a vlog on Brazil.
Thank you! You must be a mind reader because we are visiting Brazil this month. Hope to have a new video up in the late April/early May timeframe.
@@CarrieCook You can count on me to watch!
@@jazcor that’s wonderful to hear. Thanks for the support!
Good luck in Egypt ❤
I wish that Egypt raises to its glory again. What would it take?
Thank you Carrie for putting this vlog together. So much thoughts, time and effort must have gone into it as it's one of THE MOST informative, beautifully-stitched and well-narrated travel logs on Egypt we've watched! It's esp. nice to finally have a glimpse of you at the end of the vlog :) We're bringing our kids (9yo and 15yo) to Egypt next month (Winter, Dec'23) and your vlog has given our family lots of insights and things to look forward to! Keep travelling and inspiring others around the globe. XOXO, Angie & David from Singapore
Thanks so much for watching and have a wonderful time on your trip! Egypt is not the easiest country to navigate, but the sights there are truly incredible and well worth the effort.
It would’ve been nice to share little bit more about the cost (like u did wfalafel) & names of the places you went into... like hotel, restaurant, Cruise ship, tour guides, driver, plane tickets etc...)
Noted!
Your voice is phenomenal and made for narration. Velvety and soothing. Very nice vlog. You must be related to Thomas Cook... haha... thanks... Alan & George from MunnTreeAll (Montreal)
Aww, thanks. Nobody likes the sound of their own voice so I’m glad you think it comes across ok!
New followers! Amazing vlog😍
Thanks so much - glad you enjoyed it!
Great video!
Thanks for the visit!
Your voice is really cinematic 😂🤍🤍🤍
Ha ha, thank you!
Very comprehensive vlog. Did you book the tour through the local agent? Can you tell me which company You used ? Thank you
We booked our trip through Egypt Tours Plus. We booked a private tour which meant they arranged a guide and driver for us for each leg of the trip, but the itinerary was up to us and we didn’t have any other people with us. This was our first time using an agency to book a trip and overall it worked out well.
بسیار عالی بود.درست مثل اینکه همسفرتان بودم عکسهای آخر فیلم هم بسیار عالی بود ❤
Thank you so much, I appreciate your kind words!
Miss it....when i went 12 years ago ..we weren't allowed to take cameras in the pyramids..😢😢
Fantastic
Thank you!
🇪🇬 ❤
Hi Carrie, thank you for all the great info in your blog! Question: do you remember how you found Abdu, the guide you had for Abu symbol to Luxor?
Hi there, we booked our trip (including our guides) through Egypt Tours Plus - I would contact them to make arrangements with Abdu.
@@CarrieCook thank you, you are the best!
Wow, what a great video!
Thank you for helping me plan my visit to Egypt.
Would you mind sharing Mustafa's (tour guide) information in Cairo?
Thanks in advance.
We arranged our guides with Egypt Tours Plus. Our Cairo guide's name was Moustafa Mohsen. Hope that helps!
@CarrieCook thank you very much. Your videos are awesome! 👌
@@joserueda3556 Thanks so much!
Nice video, how you contacted your guide in Cairo ? I like the idea to have someone to get you from point A and Z with transportation .
We arranged their services with Egypt Tours Plus. Certainly takes some of the stress away!
