Four times! So lucky! I would love to go back and visit Alexandria next time. I had a fantastic time there. I know people have strong opinions about it, but I loved it.
Welcome to Egypt hope u enjoyed ur visit here , you also must visit the new Alamein city and marassi next time , the whole Egyptian North Coast I think ur gonna love it there , greetings from Egypt 🙏❤
Thank you for sharing your experience with so much passion. I am going to visit Egypt in March for about a week, I am wondering which tour company did you use for Cairo. Peace!
I hope you love Egypt as much as I did! I don't actually know who the tour was through, as I just contacted the hotel I was staying at and they sent me different tour options from their supplier. I picked the tour that suited me best and I was very lucky with my guide.
Hello, I am from Egypt and I love Greek civilization. You know that the second of the seven wonders of the world, the Alexandria Lighthouse, was built in Greek Egypt after Alexander the Great. And he was buried in Alexandria. In fact, I suggest to you Alexandria and Heliopolis area. Heliopolis area was built during the reign of Egypt, before 1952, and it is built in a European style. You will feel that it is... It is similar to Paris and is less crowded than Cairo. I suggest Alexandria if you want to see the influence of Greek and Roman civilization in Egypt. If you go to Rome, you will find obelisks and Egyptian antiquities in Rome located in the streets. The Romans influenced Egyptian civilization, and there are approximately a third of the world’s antiquities distributed in museums of the world and in Egypt. I suggest to you that I wanted to go to the beach in the summer, so the best places are Hurghada and Sharm El-Sheikh. The water is very clear there. But our government has almost destroyed our economy because its ruler is a military man, so in the past ten years the Egyptian people have gone from rich to poor under the era of the military ruler Sisi. Before 1952, our currency was a gold pound, and Alexandria and Cairo were among the most beautiful cities in the world and Cairo as a whole at that time. Seven of my grandparents say that they had friends from Greece, Armenia, Italy and Spain in Cairo and Alexandria. I remember that the King and Queen of Greece during the German occupation of Greece came to Cairo because Egypt’s relationship with Greece is historic and the Greeks are among the kindest. The people I know. I hate the military who transformed the country from rich to poor. There is no democracy here. Greek civilization is amazing and we had excellent relations. And now also, we still have excellent relations, whether in the Cyprus file, natural gas in the Eastern Mediterranean, the Balkan region, and the Greeks. When I look at them for the first time in videos, I feel that they are more Middle Eastern than European. I don’t know, but when you compare a person from the Middle East and another from the Balkans, you will find that we are similar in appearance, perhaps because of influence. Ottoman? i hope visit great greece oneaday
A final piece of advice: do not go to non-public places or small and narrow streets because someone might rob you. Theft is widespread in all countries of the world, but in Egypt theft is non-existent. You will feel safe, but there is nothing wrong with taking your precautions. Do not deal with those who are under 30 years old and you feel that they are not Egyptians. Because the number of African refugees in the country has increased in recent years, you only deals with polite people. It is true that the possibility of you being exposed to danger is very small because the country cares about the security of tourists and operations like this do not happen in Egypt and have not happened in even a single case, even in the past twenty years. These are precautions only to ensure your safety, and I wish you a happy trip🥰🥰I apologize if my words upset you
Hi! I don't actually know who the tour company was as I just contacted the hotel I was staying at and they sent me through the different tour options to choose from. I'm sorry I can't be of more help.
Most welcome! I would definitely stay in the city if you were going to see a lot of city sites, like the museums, mosques, churches, souqs etc. While Uber is very reasonable (cheap even), it feels like wasted time shuttling back and forth to the Giza area where I stayed. But the pyramids were amazing to see every morning and evening. 🤩
@@scharax I hope you have an amazing time! There can be a bit of hustle and bustle around the souvenir stalls, which can be a little overwhelming, but otherwise, I really enjoyed Cairo.
A clarification, Lower Egypt and Upper Egypt have been being ruled by one king since 3200 BC that started with the king Narmer, 1500 years before that called Salitis. The only period through that era where Egypt was divided was when those demagogue nomads, also called Hyksos, infiltrated into Egypt as half of Upper Egypt was ruled by Egyptian traditional dynasties that was ended by Ahmose I who managed to kick the Hyksos out of Egypt with no return. @15:50
Thank you for the clarification! I did try to find factual information, but it seems my reference material wasn't correct! That'll teach me for reading Wikipedia!
would you advise against a 654 year old single woman traveler to Egypt? Any advise? Always planned to go in my youth and now . . . well - this may be my last chance.
I would go if I were you! I felt really safe there. But if you have concerns, you can organise a group tour to join for the whole trip, or daily tours that will pick you up and drop you off from your accommodation. I did Cairo by myself and everything went smoothly. The next part of my trip (I’m still editing it) was a Nile River cruise and all the activities were taken care of for me, so I just had to turn up on time each day. It was more relaxing to not worry about organising anything. 😅
I did a 12 day tour of Egypt back in Dec. It was an amazing experience. Two of the people in our group were over 70. If you are with a reputable guide/tour you will be just fine. Just make sure you take your time and dont rush. Cheers
@@appyguy It is great advice to take your time and not rush. There is so much to see in Egypt that it is easy to try and rush through it all. I would love to go back as there are so many things I didn't get the opportunity to see due to time constraints.
The luggage drop is at the New Royal Grand Hotel Cairo at Talaat Harb Square. Go into the building and make your way to the elevator to go up to the reception of the hotel.
You make me miss Egypt so much. My husband is Egyptian and I went there 4 times for visits. I love everything about Egypt
