Not on a strip either, just on any plain old road.All about how something works. Albeit two different cars but still killer numbers. The old C7's laid down a decent time for what they had too.

Great video. I appreciate you using the same tires on both. So often car performance comparisons are really tire comparisons. The roll out explanation has to do with drag strips using a beam of light for the timing that is tripped by one of the tires, it doesn’t start recording until the tire has rolled past.
What’s crazy is, I just bought a 2024 eco. After 700 miles I tested my acceleration timer 0-60 in my car. I got consistent 5 to 5.1-2 times over and over. That’s with a full tank of 87 gas and zero drag strip/racing experience what so ever lol. Pretty fast for a 4cyl
put it in drag strip mode and brake torque. I tried once and with a shit launch and advanced traction control on I got 4.74 you can definitely go faster.
More seat time I think the 650 would get even better 60fts. Would love to see them side by side on the strip 10speed vs 10speed eliminate driver shifting differences.

The 1 ft rollout factored into press reviews 0-60 and 1/4 mile times is supposed to simulate shallow staging on a 1/4 mile track where you can get a slight jump before triggering the clock.
I'm surprised you couldn't get better times. I have a 650 with the 10 speed and 3.55 gears. I did a run with me and my dad in the car and got 4.73 going up a slight incline. I've got the standard all seasons too.
Different day, different conditions, different transmission, possibly different ambient temps and elevation too. The biggest factor is the 10r80. Not only does it shift quicker but the individual gearing is much shorter than the MT82-D4. Since I have the info on my phone I'll cut and paste the gear ratios and overall torque multiplication for comparison.. Wow... I just went outside and cold ran a 3.73 0-60 in my Dark Horse (non-HP) with stock tires. You shouldn't have problems being in the 4 second club with stock GT radials, my dude.
Im a huge Mustang fan but this one doesnt seem to make sense...50K for a base GT that isnt really faster, cant be tuned, and is several 100pbs heavier.... honestly seems like we went backwards which makes me disappointed because I do like the looks of this car a lot.

Another reason I'm holding onto my 2013 Boss 302. 0-60 4.1-4.3. Weight on newer Mustangs is a killer. There's a big difference in delivery even with a solid rear axle and 3.83 gearing #2337
What color is your Boss 302? Last one I saw in person was about 4-5 years ago and it was absolutely beautiful. A truly nice mustang that not many appreciate.

One-foot roll out is how cars are timed at a drag strip, so I believe mags include that so readers know what to expect should they take their cars to the strip. Note also that most mags publish corrected figures which include density/altitude correction. Still, 4.6 with no roll out factored in on the street is pretty good.

This is with a Dark Horse btw so were really not far off. -Justin C/D TEST RESULTS 60 mph: 4.1 sec 100 mph: 9.7 sec 1/4-Mile: 12.5 sec @ 115 mph 130 mph: 16.4 sec 150 mph: 23.2 sec Results above omit 1-ft rollout of 0.3 sec. Then add the drag radials, without which you couldn't break into the 4's, then your times are at least .9 slower to 60 than C/D. But factor in .3 for corrected figures for C/D then we're back down to .6 which is still a lot. Unless I have this all wrong, which won't be the first time.

S550 was more expensive, weighed more than the S197 and it was slower😂 it took like 3 years, a higher compression coyote and a 10 speed transmission just to beat the S197. Looks like history is repeating itself.

Ford, along with the rest of the industry, has forgotten what a muscle car should be - a lightweight chassis with a high-powered engine that yields superior performance. The S197 was the last chassis that could kind of, sort of fill that requirement. That's why I build 5th Gens and smoke 'em with street killz!

s650 has some weird traction control bogging at the start, or torque reduction

There's no torque and a heavy car, the 3.55 rear gear is hurting it with the 6 speed gearing

I love my 305s! My AS are stock 275s and I can feel the difference when I switch them out from the summer tires.

Might depend on his elevation as well. High elevation kills NA engine power due to the thinner air.

my tuned 4 cylinder Camaro can do 4.7sec 0-60. I'm able to keep up with those GT. Top end sucks tho. Not bad since I only spent 2k on upgrades.

Coyote mustang came out in 2011 and in 13 years it’s been released it’s top speed hasn’t changed
Why would it need to? Top speed is a wasted effort in the US. Tire ratings are usually the limiting factor here anyway.

The s650 spun second pretty hard that first time. I need some 305/45r17 mickeys. my 305/35r19 nitto 555r aren't cutting it.

Is the MT82 that bad? My 2019 GT Auto on Bridgestone Potenza S001s with traction on clocks a 4.3 while spinning til ~40mph
